CHAPTER 4

Clay and Starflight were walking around Narnia looking for assistance and directions. Clay ran into a couple of dragons.

"Hi!" yelled one SkyWing with veins showing in her wings.

"Who're you?" asked Clay.

The SkyWing introduced herself as Peril, the SkyWing Queen's champion in the arena.

"What are you doing in Narnia?" asked Starflight.

"I'm about to fight off against a Narnian minotaur." said Peril.

"A….minotaur?" asked Clay.

"Yeah, those creatures are native to Narnia. At least from what I was told." said Peril. "However, Queen Scarlet wanted me to fight a minotaur. I can't wait, but I'm nervous."

"Why?" asked Clay.

"The White Witch is on Queen Scarlet's side, and the minotaurs are with Jadis, the White Witch." explained Peril.

"So which minotaur are you fighting?" asked Clay.

"Just a random minotaur on Princess Burn's side." said Peril. "Burn is allied with the SkyWings right now." she explained. "Well, I have to go." Peril proclaimed.

Peril flew away.

"What the?" asked Clay.

Starflight noticed the snow was melting around them.

"Hmph." said Clay. "Strange. Does she have fire in herself?" asked Clay.

"SkyWing twins can hatch with rare conditions. One will have too much fire, and one will have none at all." said Starflight. "The ones with too much fire are known as firescales. They are very dangerous. The ones with no fire are known as the fireless. They are really, really weak."

"I wonder if Peril's a firescales." wondered Clay.

"I wouldn't worry too much, Clay." said Starflight. "But MudWings that end up hatching from blood-red eggs have fireproof scales."

"What?" asked Clay.

"It's true." said Starflight.

Clay wondered if he was fireproof to Peril. But, Starflight and Clay later left for Peril's battle.

Queen Scarlet and Princess Burn were both accompanied by Jadis the White Witch. The Witch was about to witness SkyWing Peril's battle tactics as she was about to fight one of Aslan's minotaurs. Watching the battle with Queen Scarlet and Princess Burn was Scarlet's son Vermilion and Burn's sister Princess Blister.

The battle began when Scarlet announced the two of them to fight. As the minotaur was about to slice Peril, his weapon melted. Peril then tackled the minotaur, leaving the minotaur to burn alive.

"She's a firescales…." Clay said to himself.

"And my champion wins again!" yelled Scarlet.

"Your champion's a cheater." said Burn.

Scarlet did nothing but growl with smoke coming out from her nostrils.

"That dragon is your champion?" asked Jadis the White Witch.

"She's my best champion in my arena in Pyrrhia." said Scarlet. "Peril burns anything that can be burned when she touches it." she explained.

"Interesting." said the White Witch. "Let me see if she can melt a bunch of IceWings."

"IceWings?" asked Starflight as he was watching from above.

Jadis the White Witch undoubtedly noticed Starflight and Clay.

"What is it?" asked Peril.

"Bring that NightWing dragonet down here." said Jadis the White Witch to Vermilion and two other SkyWing soldiers.

"Excuse me, if I can just get my scrolls…" Starflight said. But the SkyWings prevented him from getting his scrolls. He was brought down to the battlegrounds.

"Let's see if this NightWing dragonet can defeat a bunch of IceWings and Peril." said Jadis the White Witch. "Regardless….he will be mine to bring to Morrowseer."

Starflight was concerned and asked for help.

"Put me in with him!" yelled Clay.

Glory, Tsunami, and Sunny later arrived on the scene.

"Oh, more dragons?" asked the White Witch.

"Don't you dare hurt Starflight!" yelled Tsunami.

"Stop it!" yelled Glory. "Let Starflight go!"

"Free Starflight!" yelled Sunny.

"What. Is. That?!" asked Jadis the White Witch.

"It's a SandWing." said Clay. "That's our friend Sunny."

"That SandWing's defective!" yelled a SkyWing soldier.

"Send that dragon back to the stone table!" yelled a Narnian soldier on the Witch's side.

"QUIET!" yelled Scarlet. "Now, I'm letting that MudWing down there fight off the IceWings while I let Peril fight the NightWing."

"How is this making sense?!" asked Starflight.

As Peril ran towards Starflight to attempt a tackle, Clay guarded Starflight and let Peril tackle him in return. However, Clay wasn't burning up from Peril's touches.

"Why are you not burning up?" asked Peril.

"MudWings hatched from blood-red eggs have fireproof scales." said Scarlet. "Therefore, I think Peril versus the MudWing would be pleasing."

"Chain up the NightWing." said the White Witch.

Starflight looked at the Witch. He was then chained up and brought to Queen Scarlet. Only the dragons left; the White Witch retreated to her castle.

"Oh, no…" said Glory.

"Where are they taking Starflight?" asked Sunny.

"I don't know." said Clay. "Let's go see if we can get help."

Clay, Tsunami, Glory, and Sunny all were about to leave when Peril stopped Clay.

"Clay…I'm sorry you had to see that." said Peril. "But…I…..I…"

"You what?" asked Clay. "Aren't you nervous to say it?"

"I want to go with you. I don't want to work for Scarlet." said Peril. "But I want my firescales gone."

"Should we help her?" asked Tsunami.

Clay looked at his friends and said that she might not have any friends due to her dangerous condition.

"Then let's assist her." said Glory.

Clay and the other Dragonets of Destiny recruited Peril.
