As the sun set a thick fog draped along the grass and rocks around the entrance to the den, the moon glimmering brightly in the sky. The four teenagers, getting led by a tense Anita who promised to show them the market, under the condition she go with them. They felt reinvigorated having mended there wounds rested and feed, still their expressions uneasy, hoping to avoid another fight.

"Talk to her"

Elsa whispered, gesturing not so subtly for Emma to drop back and walk with Red, who lagged at the back. Emma reluctantly agreed, unsure her advice would be warranted but she slowed her pace, until she was side by side with her friend, Red stared at the ground her fist clenched.

"Red, you feeling ok"?

"Great" she huffed sarcastically.

"Hey, I know I'm not exactly an expert on your situation, but if anyone knows what you are going through".

"Thanks Emma, but I don't know if I can even trust her, she's a stranger, it was different for you, your parents their hero's".

"Do you think Anita, isn't".

"That's just it, I don't know anything about her".

"Well, if you don't mind me offering one piece of advice, try and resist the urge to push away your feelings"

"It's not just that… Emma I need to tell you something".

Emma frowned hearing the serious tone of Reds voice and her guilty expression but just as she opened her mouth to say more, Anita stopped turning to them.

"Were here, just wait a moment, let me check first if there is going to be trouble". Anita instructed.

Nobody responded to Anita, except for a simple nod from Red, as she stared blankly at her estranged mother, searching for something familiar. But she quickly disappeared into the darkness ahead, Red inhaled deeply, focusing on trying to get an understanding of where they were, by using her enhanced senses.

"We are closer to Misthaven now, there is a clearing up ahead". Red

"What were you going to tell me"? Emma

"It will have to wait, somethings wrong". Red

"What, is Anita ok"? Elsa

"I don't know, but I can't hear anything". Red

"Should you be hearing something in particular?" Killian

"If there was a market down there, they'd be people, talking, walking about all kinds of noise, I should hear something, but it's quiet". Red

"We've waited long enough, let's go" Emma said.

Walking away from the cover of the trees and into a small village with dirt tracks, directing them towards the centre. The houses were more like small garden sheds, made of wood and straw; the ground coated in holes made by horses' hooves riding around town. Red was right though there was no noise, the streets where abandoned, only one man remained running towards them.

"No, no it's back" A older man said running past the four teenagers with such speed, he had disappeared into the forest before they could turn their heads to see who he was.

"Take that as a bad sign". Killian

"Whatever was here, it's gone now" Red

Ahead of them were carts lining the entrance of a street with a few storefronts with signs, reading things like, blood stones sold here and fresh organs. The candlelight still shining bright, with papers and bags stern along the path, from when people abandoned their belongings and ran for their lives.

"Oh, this is cool" Emma said, picking up a glowing purple orb from the ground.

"Don't touch stuff". Elsa instructed; her tone nervous.

"It's just weird looking light". Emma replied, holding it up for inspection becoming mesmerised by the cloud like formations, as they folded in on each other.

"That's a psychic orb Emma, it will read your thoughts, put it down" Killian said concerned.

"Crap" Emma said letting it fall back to the ground with a thud.

"What kind of dark creature could clear out a market, selling mind reading orbs". Emma noted leaning in close to Killian as they walked past, the many abandoned shopfronts.

Suddenly Red stopped breathing in deep, a smile appeared on her face she looked up at a large store in the centre of the street.

"Our things are in here, let's just get them and go". Red instructed.

"I second that" Killian added.

The storefront had a small step surrounded by a deck with a metal sign stating, Malvern's wears and other goods, that creaked on its hinges swinging back and forth in the breeze. The large oak door to this establishment was embedded with an arrow. The hinges bent and broken; the doorframe splintered, as if the door had been blasted off. They didn't hesitate to walk right inside, anticipation on their expressions, hoping to find their little pieces of home, waiting for them.

"My guess is everything in here, has been stolen". Red said.

"They must have taken something, from the wrong person". Emma added

"Let's best be quick then, before the owner or anyone else comes" Elsa said charging forwards desperate to find her jewels and a photo she had in her pocket.

"There you are" Killian said catching sight of a shiny metal hook, on a shelf in front of him.

"Awesome you found it, oh look Elsa, your necklace". Emma

"And my cloak" Red

The four walked around splitting up into different aisles of the store, with intrigued looks noticing quite a few unique items on the shelves, such as a wand that was still locked in a case. Books scattered about, some that talked, statues that looked back at you and a hat that changed colours. None of this particularly caught their interest, but there was a shiver to the place, colder in the shop than it was outside. Emma turned to Elsa her expression curious, wondering if her magic infused friend, was behind the drop in temperature.

"It's not me". Elsa

"Strange, I feel so cold". Emma clutched her heart once more.

"Have you found your jacket Emma"? Killian asked, from an aisle over.

"No, not yet" Emma replied somewhat frustrated.

"Will keep looking". Killian encouraged as he finished locking his hook back into place.

"It's gone, it took it" A unfamiliar voice called out.

"Who said that"? Red asked her ears perking up between all the blood and other nasty odours, her senses where overwhelmed, she didn't think to double check, anyone was there.

"Here, behind the counter" Elsa said, calling them over.

Emma walked forwards but her leg got stuck, her pant leg caught on something embedded in the wooden frame of the shelf she'd walked past. Bending down she noticed it was an arrow, with similar markings to the one in the door, she grabbed it holding it in her hand tight.

"Urgh"

A tall thin man in a grey suit, lay on the ground quivering in fear his face pale as the life drained out of him. Understandably he was shaken, having no less than seven arrows sticking out of him. One in the shoulder, three in his chest and abdomen, two in the legs and one in his foot, that had pierced through the sole of his shoe.

"Who did this"? Elsa gasped her hand over her mouth.

"The dark one" the man replied, his last words before his eyes rolled back.

"Wait no, I can heal him" Emma said as she surged forwards.

Killian put his hand on her shoulder pulling her back, as he too was stunned, it had been long time since he seen a person tortured and killed. Pulling Emma in closer, as she slightly pushed against him, before leaning into it and wrapping her arms around him.

"There's nothing you can do for him now, Emma". Killian.

"Rumpelstiltskin, is in the Enchanted forest?" Red

"Why did he take your jacket". Elsa

"If his here, maybe he didn't come alone?". Emma

"Let's get out of here, whatever is going on, I don't like it" Killian

Quickly they took what they came for, except Emma who didn't see her necklace or jacket, before rushing outside to find someone awaiting them, her expression of frustration.

"I told you to wait" Anita

"Well, we didn't" Red said rolling her eyes.

"We must leave now; the dark one has returned to this realm". Anita

"We know" Red added with a condescending tone.

"Why are you still holding that"?

Killian asked, eyeing the arrow that Emma gripped tight in her hand, as they walked back into the forest towards the den.

"I don't know, I just feel empty, was looking forward to wearing my jacket, wrapping it around me tight".

Killian had a sorrowed expression, leaning in he wrapped his arms around Emma, squeezing her tight for a moment, and she dropped the arrow.

"Thanks"

"I've never known Rumpelstiltskin to use an arrow". Killian said musing on that.

"More of a rip your heart out type" Red added.

"That's it, Killian you know the Dark one better than anyone, were would he go"? Emma asked.

"You want to go looking for this dark creature"? Anita asked bewildered.

"It's complicated, in our land he wasn't so…... bad". Red sheepishly explained.

"Gave me a good price for a watch once, it was a gift for…. I can't remember" Elsa began to say before trailing off, as the expression on Anitas face grew concerned.

"He did try to warn me about the price of magic, when I got us all stuck in a time loop, on my birthday". Emma added somewhat rambling.

Anita just looked increasingly confused, the more information they gave her about the dark one and their lives together, the more aggravated she became.

"Let's keep moving, it's getting dark" Anita said

Her tone a clear indication none of this was right, turning away as she led the teens back into the forest, back to the safety of the den.

"If we want to find the dark one, we could start with his castle". Emma

"Maybe we can find magic there, that could help us communicate with Storybrooke". Elsa added, hopefulness in her tone.

"You think he is here, to help us"? Killian

"Why else would he be here"? Emma said with a shrug

"We don't really even know, how we got to the enchanted forest, now he is here, it's no coincidence" Killian

"You think, Mr Gold was the one behind the portal, that took us from Storybrooke"? Emma.

"Maybe, but your right, we should head there now". Killian

"Someone going to tell her that?". Elsa stated gesturing to Anita.

"I will" Red said.

Red caught up to her mother, until they were walking side by side, it was strange even in their human form. A werewolf could walk faster and further than any human, keeping pace with her now, felt so natural.

"We have to go now, there is nothing for us here" Red stated.

"I don't understand, why you insist on staying with your friends, they could never understand the real you".

"My friends are my family, they were there when I lost Peter, when the curse broke and we had to restart our lives, mine included dealing with accepting that I'm a werewolf all over again… they love me for exactly who I am".

"I see they try, these people are from a world of magic, but they can't understand the wolf, that it's a part of you, or you wouldn't still have that red cloak".

"Gran made it for me".

"Can't you see that cloak, her lies; she wants to control you".

"How can I trust you, you left and now you've ripped me from my home".

"Please Red, you must believe me I had no choice, I believed you to be trapped in a world without magic, with that part of yourself locked away".

"You were wrong, now how do I explain that to them".

"If they love you as you say they do, they'll understand".

"Whatever, I just wanted to say goodbye, we need to go".

"Please I beg you to reconsider, stay with us, this is where you belong".

"I'm sorry, I have to go".

Red lifted the hood of her cloak over her head walking away from her mother, as the other three walked by Anita, they avoided eye contact.

"Thanks for the food and shoes" Elsa said sheepishly as they followed Red.
