The legalities. I do not own any of the Leverage franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au. Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Prompt: "Y'know…That's not what an apology sounds like."
Prudence "Pru" Beck was really trying to not laugh. She was standing on the stairs' landing, watching Sophie start to talk herself into sort of apologizing to Eliot, having just done so to Alec, Parker, and her. Pru started down the stairs just as Eliot acknowledged Sophie's presence.
"You need something?"
"I was just trying to make myself useful."
Eliot scoffed. "Yeah, well, the last time you tried that, we had to blow up the office."
"That's not fair."
"I was just getting used to it, you know."
"To what? Having an office."
Pru rolled her eyes as Eliot scoffed and answered. "Being part of a team."
Sophie seemed to not really know what to say to that. "Look, I didn't mean. You know, it wasn't supposed to go down like that."
Pru scoffed this time as she walked over to Eliot, crossing her arms as she did so. "You know, that's not what an apology sounds like."
Before Sophie could formulate an answer to Pru's statement, Parker bounced in. "What's going on?"
Eliot looked at Pru with a smirk before answering. "Sophie here was just trying to apologize."
"No, I wasn't."
"Oh, yea, she tried that with me earlier. She kind of sucks at it."
Pru scoffed again. "Just a little bit."
Alec, who had joined them just after Parker (carrying a painting that Pru had a feeling was "Old Nate"), smirked slightly. "Oh, did she give you the speech about how we're thieves and how this is what thieves do and, if we were in her shoes, we'd have done the same thing?"
"No, I think she was just getting to that part." Eliot frowned and stood to face Sophie. "You apologized to him first, huh? Why am I last?"
"I wasn't apologizing."
Pru scoffed once again. "That's the problem."
Sophie sighed. "I just wanted to see if we were all okay with each other."
Eliot smirked. "Okay, there it is."
Pru smirked back and moved to walk away. "It's about damn time." She tuned out the rest of the conversation as she went to find Nate. They still had a long ways to go, but they now had a start in the right direction.
