Ch.21 Rose

POV: Adrian

A rose is a flower. It is red, and it has thorns.

That's what they teach you in school.

What they don't teach you in school is how a rose can also be a crush you have. And then how the beautiful, beautiful rose stabs your heart with her sharp, sharp thorns.

Like the Rose in my life.

I fell in love with her. Problem was, she liked Belikov. Then Belikov got turned into a Strigoi, and I got my chance with her. I'd been too stupid to realize it at that time, but I should have known that her heart belonged to the Russian. She stomped on my heart and broke it.

A rose is many things, but Rose is a born heartbreaker.
