Amy is excited to formally meet Blaze's Mom. Well she already has. Sure as a friend of her daughters not as a girlfriend of her daughters. But still it can't be that much different. So Amy is excited and happy and makes sure she looks great and all the standard stuff that goes along with getting ready for a formal dating event. So by the time that she needs to leave she's already prepared and ready.
Taking a page out of Blaze's playbook she walks to her destination. Looking around at the serene beauty of it all. Especially when she gets to Blaze's neighborhood. It's small but nice and has an even more calming presence. Amy enjoys this place a lot. As she continues to walk she sees all the landmarks good and bad. She decides not to think about those too much. Especially when nearing Blaze's house. She decides to keep calm and act natural. Nothing can go wrong. Everything will be fine and dandy.
"Mom, please don't interrogate her."
"I'm only going to ask her a few questions, Blaze." Vanillia attempts to comfort her daughter.
"I saw those questions you're either going to traumatize her or give her a heart attack." An attempt at comfort doesn't seem to work.
"She'll be fine." Vanilla waves it off.
"Will she? I don't think she will!"
Blaze is of course panicking at the situation. She has been woken up and even after that. Of course some of those concerns are warranted. Especially with what Vanilla had planned and wasn't going to tell Blaze about until it actually came up.
"I'm throwing out all those questions about her parents at least."
"I didn't think they were that bad."
"Well they are." Blaze says taking the cards and putting them into the trash bin.
"Alright. Alright. Fair enough."
"Good. Look Mom I'm sorry, I just want to make sure she's fine. Please don't try to stress her out."
"I won't. Blaze you worry too much."
"Fine. Thank you."
"You're Welcome."
The door knocks, alerting Blaze and her Mother. Blaze immediately goes to check.
It's her, remember what I said* Blaze whispers to her mother.
Blaze opens the door to greet her girlfriend. Vanilla is right behind her to great Amy as well.
"Hey Amy!" Blaze greets.
"Hi Blaze! Hi Ms. Rabbit!" Amy greets back
"Hello, Amy." Vanilla says to the girl.
The three sit down at the table. Looking at the meal that Vanilla made.
"This looks great Ms. Rabbit!"
"Thank you, Amy."
The three eat. Engaging in normal small talk and chatting. That's until Vanilla pulls out her cards.
"Amy." Vanilla says and clears her throat.
"What are those for?" Amy says and Blaze holds her hand which only makes the poor girl more concerned about what's happening.
"Oh don't worry, only a few questions." Vanilla states calmly.
"…Okay?" Amy says anxiously, not helped by everything else going on
"Alright, question 1: have you ever done any drugs?" Simple question Amy thinks
"…No" Simple answer Amy thinks
"Question 2, have you ever been arrested?"
"No" Another simple question
"Question 3, do you have any weaknesses?"
"Mom, what is this, a job interview?" Blaze questions towards her Mom
"I get overwhelmed easily and I'm probably very disorganized" Amy ignores Blaze's concern but still appreciates it.
"Okay, Number 4: What are your strengths?"
"Art and cooking" Easiest question yet
"Number 5: how will you provide for my daughter?"
"What?" Hardest question yet
"Mom, seriously." Blaze says.
"Marine gave me an answer." Vanilla states matter of factly.
"When did you do this with Marine?" Blaze asks now very concerned that someone else had to go through this.
"One of the times you were at Amy's house. Also thank you for that Amy." Amy is now even more confused.
"Alright, but seriously, what did Marine even say?" Blaze asks.
"I never said it was a good answer, Amy?"
"Art, I guess?"
"…Better than Marine's answer."
Amy is relieved and wipes her forehead
"Final question." Vanilla states.
"Do you hate me?" Vanilla asks.
"…No?"
"Why was that a question?"
"No. It caught me off guard."
"Alright. Fair enough. Good, now we can go back to eating."
"Mom, seriously what was that?" Blaze asks aggressively and very concerned.
"Nothing much. Just making sure."
"Of what?"
"You wouldn't understand." Blaze stops asking questions.
Despite the weird questionnaire. Amy still interacts with Vanilla calmly. Still weirded out. But still in a space where she feels fine. Blaze makes sure to hold her hand. The rest of dinner goes smoothly. Amy and Blaze wash the dishes like at Amy's house. Vanilla watches then leaves the two alone. She thinks she's already done enough damage.
Marine and Cream return from their date that they went on for this express purpose. They talk with the other two. Marine and Amy bond about the weird questions that Vanilla threw at them with that questionnaire.
"What did you say in response to the will you provide question?" Amy asks Marine
"Sailor" Marine says
"Wow that is bad" Amy says
"What did you say?" Marine questions
"Art" Amy gets out
"And I'm bad?" Marine rolls her eyes
"Marine!" Cream scolds Marine.
Amy laughs while Blaze smiles at the exchange. Marine laughs while Cream continues to scold Marine. The four talk in the evening. When Amy has to leave for home. Saying her goodbyes and getting a kiss from Blaze, like usual. Unlike usual though, Amy returns to the surprise of Blaze. Who is extremely surprised at this and Amy laughs at her expression. Blaze looks very shocked then proceeds to laugh with Amy. Ending with them smiling at each other.
Amy then actually goes home. The walk seems a bit slower than on the way there. Maybe it's everything that drags with her or maybe it's time itself that has shifted. Doesn't matter as she gets home no matter what. Going to bed as soon as she can. It's late and she's tired. Maybe she is very tired from all of this because as soon as she hits her bed she falls asleep. Happy she got that over with. She goes to sleep. Waking up in the morning for another day. To continue her relationship with Blaze. Which again she is extremely happy to do. She smiles for another day.
