Ch.28 Coffee
POV: Third Person
"Do you have to drink so much coffee?" Lissa asked Rose, who was currently on her third cup.
"Don't say that," Adrian joked. "Sage drinks much more than she does."
"Every guardian drinks coffee," Dimitri's accent flavored his words as he sipped his own cup.
"Why?" Christian questioned.
"Same reason I do," Sydney cut in, nursing her sixth cup of coffee. "It wakes me up and sharpens my focus."
"It helps us pay attention," Eddie chimed in.
"Drinking too much is hurtful to the body," Lissa scolded. "Particularly to human bodies."
Four pairs of eyes blinked at her. Then Rose said, "At least we're not indulging in drugs."
That made Lissa sigh in exasperation. She threw up her hands, and walked out of the room.
Five pairs of eyes swiveled towards Rose. "What?" she asked innocently, holding her cup of coffee.
