Ch.34 Book

POV: Dimitri

It's not everyday you walk into your apartment to see your girlfriend reading. Reading! Rose doesn't like anything to do with schoolwork and libraries.

I hang up my duster and pull out my western. Might as well do something when she's occupied.

An hour later, she started shuddering. I looked up, keeping an eye on her. I watched as she bit her lip, turned a page. I observed as she grabbed a handful of pages and flipped them over.

Then she threw away her book. Not entirely unexpected, but instead of the frustrated expression I expected, she was shaking.

"Rose?"

She didn't answer.

"Roza. What happened?"

She gestured towards the book. "Liss said it would spice up my sex life. Maybe she only liked it because the guy's name is Christian."

I laughed, pulling her into me. "Do you think our sex life needs spicing up?"

"Nope," she popped her 'p'.

A few days later, I caught sight of the title, 50 Shades of Gray. Curious, I picked it up and flipped to a random page.

And instantly dropped it.

It was not material for youngsters. Dear god, I think I was scarred from reading just that one sentence from that book.

A book that Rose had been reading for at least an hour. I shuddered.
