Ch.43 Russian Language
POV: Third Person
Dimitri didn't know where his girlfriend scrambled off to the days she had no duty. He'd come back from work some nights with Rose in the elevator with him while he knew she had off.
He caught her looking inside a dictionary one day. And not just any dictionary - a Russian-English one. He thought she just wanted to translate some of the words he had said to her that night they'd been relentless. He had no problem with that, so he left her alone.
But when he walked in one afternoon to Lissa and Sydney talking to her in Russian, he had to admit he was a tad curious. Then he heard Roza say, "Thanks for the help."
"Thank you for giving me something else to do besides paperwork for the last few months." Lissa laughed.
His heart hammered loudly as he watched his girlfriend say goodbye to her friends, then turned towards the corner he was hiding in. "Just come out, Comrade."
"You were learning Russian."
She nodded.
"With Lissa and Sydney."
She nodded again.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Потому что это сюрприз," she told him.
He growled as she rolled her R's, and her eyes widened as he picked her up.
If anyone of you know Russian and says that the above line is wrong, I'm sorry! I used Google Translate so don't kill me...
Anyways, Google Translate says Потому что это сюрприз is Because it's a surprise.
REVIEW PLEASE!
