Shiki's body is trembling as holds my phone to his ear, he is calling the Tohno manor, so he can tell Akiha that he's staying the night here.

We are in the kitchen of my apartment, Rika, Aoko and Arcueid are in the living room, waiting for us.

Finally someone takes the call. "Hey, it's me Shiki..." I can't hear what the other person is saying, so I can only guess.

Shiki's face seems to be a bit embarrassed. "Yeah, sorry I didn't call earlier Hisui, I'm using the cellphone of a classmate."

There's a pause, Shiki then answers. "I'm fine, don't worry. The only reason why I didn't call earlier is because I don't have my own cellphone." He has a smug grin on his face.

Shiki sighs. "No, I won't be coming home tonight Hisui, I'm sleeping at a friend's house... Yeah, sure, put Akiha on the phone."

There's a pause and then Shiki flinches, he puts the phone farther from his ear. I'm guessing Akiha is screaming at him... How charming! I love crazy women!

He slowly puts the phone closer to his ear again. "Please calm down Akiha, everything is fine... Anyways, I was telling Hisui that, well, I'm sleeping at a friend's house for the night."

Shiki flinches again, after a moment he responds. "Of course I couldn't call you, my cellphone was confiscated remember... No, my friend is not some random deliquent Akiha."

I feel like an argument is about to start. Maybe I should have stayed with the others in the living room.

Shiki's eye twitches. "Don't bring up my anemia into this, you're the one who took my phone. If I did collapse I wouldn't be able to contact you anyways."

His face shifts into actual anger. "You made Hisui wait the entire night outside!? Why!?" He takes a deep breath. "I don't care if it's the duty of a maid or whatever...!

I can see him visible trying to calm down. "No, I'm not coming back tonight, I'm staying here." Oh boy.

He continues. "Look Akiha, I'm seventeen. I'm older than you, so if I want to stay at a friend's house I can."

I'm definitely hearing an argument! Scary! I never met Akiha, but I can almost feel her anger through the phone.

Shiki grits his teeth. "Don't you dare to bring mom into this... Of course I call her mom, why wouldn't I?" Oh, she used the Arima card?

Shiki rolls his eyes. "You know what? Sure, feel free to call mom. She knows my friend and she's fine with him." He takes a moment to think of something. "Bye Akiha." And then he ends the call.

The phone immediately starts ringing again, Shiki hesitates a little and rejects the call. "Damn It..." I see things are rough in the Tohno household.

Still, I consider Akiha only contacting the Arima's a blessing. If she learned Aoko is here... Well, the police would be knocking on my door.

He hands me over my phone, I give him an awkward smile. "So... Wanna talk about it buddy?" Sadly I will have to comfort a man.

He shakes his head. "No, it's something between me and Akiha, so feel free to drop it Yuta." No way.

I know how Shiki is, because he was thrown away by the Tohno's he feels like a burden. He would rather explode then ask someone for help.

So I'll just force him to tell me his worries. I put my hand on his shoulder. "C'mon Shiki, confide on me bro, I won't tell anyone."

He sighs. "I... I know." He takes a deep breath. "Thing are just tough right now. Akiha she... It's like she comes from a completely different world."

I raise an eyebrow. "So you feel disconnected from her?" I guess that's normal, they may be siblings, but they were raised apart from each other.

I'm sure that if I told Shiki what I'm about to think he would punch me, but it's the truth... Miyako is his true little sister, Akiha is just a girl that looks similar to him.

And I can understand that deep down he probably hates that, he wants to change that, so he probably feels frustrated at failing in fixing his family.

Shiki nods. "Yeah, but it isn't her fault... It's mine, Akiha was forced to grow up fast. She had to take the burden of whatever politics the Tohno family has."

He continues. "I... It should have been me. And I'm not saying that because I'm jealous of her position, it's because I pity her position."

Shiki looks down. "If it wasn't for this damn anemia, then I... Damn it, here I am, failing at doing anything by myself again."

He frowns. "I keep relying on everyone, the Arima's, Sensei, you, Rika, even Ciel-Senpai. Then I fail to pay all of you back."

I give him a smile. "Let me tell you a little secret Shiki. I love you." His face is filled with shock, so I elaborate before it's too late. "Like a sibling, get real bro." He calms down.

I continue. "I don't help you because I want you to do something for me, I help you because I want to do something for you... Actually, it's the reverse."

My face is definitely red, telling this to someone is embarrassing. "Helping you, helps me, because I enjoy spending time with you... And besides you are 'paying' people back, you went out vampire hunting tonight, most people wouldn't do that."

Shiki smiles. "Geez, who tell stuff like that to a guy?" Guys can be affectionate to their friends without being gay!

I point at myself. "This fella over here! Who also happens to be very confident in his sexuality."

I have put my dick inside of Rika's mouth before without flinching, but thinking about a guy immediately makes me soft, I think that proves I'm not gay.

He chuckles. "I see... But yeah, it seemingly doesn't matter what I do, I can't reach Akiha's heart at all."

He continues. "I mean, she's the type of girl that thinks a cellphone will ruin someone's school life, how am I supposed to connect with someone like that?"

He sighs. "Her childhood was too strict. I know this is unfair of me, but I miss the old Akiha who would tell me she loves her big brother without hesitation."

He clenches his fist. "And she's not the only problem. Hisui can be annoying too... Always watching me. I know that's her job, but I want some privacy you know?"

He looks up. "And... I actually knew her from before, I think. I made this promise with someone when I was young, but I'm not sure if it was with her or not."

He continues. "You see, when I was young I used to play with a red headed girl, she was super active and stuff... But there was another girl, a quiet kid who stayed inside the mansion watching us, her twin sister."

He sighs. "When I left the mansion, that quiet kid gave me a white ribbon... It meant a lot to me, and I promised I would return it to her."

He frowns. "I was convinced that the girl was Hisui, but everytime I bring the past she changes the subject... Then I've begun thinking, maybe it's Kohaku, her sister."

He crosses his arms. "But then Kohaku gets all cryptic and mysterious and starts saying how a girl would never forget a promise like that, so it can't be her right? Or she would have just taken the damn ribbon."

He continues. "Every person in the mansion is like that, acting super mysterious, even that annoying doctor... I feel like an outsider that they want to expel from their tribe."

He looks down. "I miss the Arima's, I don't want to stay in that tribe either... But I would be the worst human ever if I just abandoned Akiha. Why did she even call me back? I was happy with being disowned."

I nod. "That's rough buddy." There's nothing else I can say. Shiki doesn't want me to tell him a solution to his problems, he wants to rant.

He sighs. "Yeah, it's the worst. Tomorrow she's going to skin me alive... Sorry, but I won't be able to go vampire hunting tomorrow."

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if she locked you up in her basement... One should never underestimate little sisters.

I smile. "Then how about using a smokescreen?" I just had a brilliant idea, one that may allow me to enter into the Tohno household.

He raises an eyebrow. "A smokescreen? I can't just ninja my way out of the mansion..." I didn't mean literally!

I chuckle. "Dude, what I mean was using something to get Akiha's attention... I doubt she will be convinced to let you out, but she will definitely be more lenient."

He nods. "I see, that seems like a good idea." That's because I'm a genius. "So what did you have in mind?"

I smile from the bottom of my heart. "Let me go to your house tomorrow." He immediately glares at me.

I continue. "Hey, hear me out before you judge me... So I pop up in your house, flirt with your sister, flirt with the maids, basically I act like myself."

Shiki hasn't lessened his glare at all. "Your plan has been rejected forever and ever, also go die."

I put my hand up and stop him. "Wait, there's more. Basically, Akiha will change her target of hatred, everything will now be aimed at me!"

He pushes his glasses up. "And what do you gain from this? It's a risky plan, specially because you would finally meet Kohaku." Why are you so scared of us meeting!?

I nod. "I gain an opportunity at making your sister my girlfriend, hate can easily become love after all..."

Shiki sighs. "I don't know if that's true in her case, but I guess I don't want Akiha liking you in the first place..."

He continues. "Also, are you really sure about this? Akiha was being really aggressive on the phone, but that's because she was worried."

He crosses his arms. "She will hit you with a wave of passive aggressiveness like you have never seen before."

I give him a thumbs up. "It's fine, really, my primary objective is taking heat out of your hide anyways."

He smiles. "Then sure, I guess you get your wish... You're finally gonna go inside of my house." Awesome, I've always wanted to visit a mansion.

I nod. "Okay then, it's settled. Tomorrow after school I'm going into your house, and after that I'm going vampire hunting again."

Though I might suggest something like staying over for the night, just to piss off Akiha even more.

My objective is to make her hate me after all, so she thinks everything bad that's happening is my fault and not Shiki's.

That said, there are some line I won't cross of course. For example I won't touch the maid named Hisui, I remember Shiki telling me she is scared of men touching her.

I'm also going to hold back on the flirting when she's my target. I don't want to give her a panic attack or something, that would be awful.

Shiki nods. "Yeah, now let's go face the biggest challeng of the night... Watching movies with Sensei and Arcueid."

Oh boy, that sounds actually terrifying! But it's okay, since it will give me lots of affection points.

Sensei's face is red. "Oh~, that movie was so romantic, why didn't I watch it before? I was missing out!" Sensei, it's Twilight and you're in your thirties.

Actually, Twilight's target audience are teenage girls and lonely older woman... So like a reverse harem anime.

One teenage boy being pursued by a hot goth vampire girl and a tomboy wolf girl who can't control her urges... I get it now!

Rika is smiling, she always enjoys this movie for some reason I shall never comprehend. "I'm glad you liked it Sensei, we should watch the next one!" But why!?

Oh well, it's fine. I have had to watch this franchise a thousand times by this points, so I'm used to it.

And besides, I get to see Rika's happy reactions, and those are way better than anything another movie can do. In that way Twilight is a masterpiece of cinema!

Arcueid is looking at her fist. "Yeah, I need more inspiration..." Inspiration for what!? Please don't tell me you plan on stalking teenagers now! Actually you already did that...

Honestly Arcueid watched the entire movie with a look of enlightenment in her eyes, so I'm justifiably scared of whatever she's cooking inside of her mind.

She closes her fist. "Glow in the sun huh? That's pretty cool, maybe I could start draining the sun's mana..." Never cook again.

Shiki sighs. "I choose this over sleep. What's wrong with me?" Yeah, and differently from me, you don't even get to make your girlfriend happy.

Rika glares at him. "Watch your mouth Four Eyes, everybody knows this movie is great!" Keep on being delusional Rika, it's cute.

Aoko quickly nods. "Yeah Shiki! You need to learn some appreciation for movies like this, or you won't ever connect with a girl. I would be sad if you died a virgin." Do I have some news for you...

Aoko looks at me. "But enough about Shiki, what do you think of the movie Yuta?" That's a very dangerous question.

I make a fake smile. "I love it, all characters are well developed, and the editing is definitely not awful." I hate the goddamn lighting, everything looks ugly as hell.

Aoko smiles, she looks cute, so selling my soul was worth it. "That's the attitude Yuta, Sensei raised you right!" Kill me.

Rika nods. "Yeah, Yuta is a ten out of ten, while Four Eyes is like... A four? No, that's too mean, he's a three."

Shiki glares at her. "Why did my rating go down!? You just sounded even more mean!" Because Rika is a mesugaki, I have to give her correction whenever the opportunity is available.

Arcueid raises a hand. "Hey, not to be weird, but I've started thinking... How does Rika even see? She doesn't seem to have eyes."

I shake my head. "No, she has one big eye, it just stays kinda close for most of the time... Like Brock from Pokémon."

Arcueid pouts. "I don't know who that is... But I understand what you mean, it's kinda weird that Rika took such a form though." Eh, I don't question it too much.

I smile. "Don't worry Arcueid, we will introduce you to Pokémon eventually. So for now just enjoy the current movie we are watching."

In a way I'm almost jealous of Arcueid, she gets to discover an entire world of media without any biases.

Though she will now forever relate Twilight to romance movie, it's her first experience with one after all. Oh my god, what have I done!? Sorry Arcueid!

Arcueid smiles. "Okay Yuta~! I already liked the first one, so I'm sure I will like the second!" They only get worse from here...

But I guess Arcueid is a media baby, and in my experience, when you learn about a medium you like everything at first.

Maybe she will come to hate this movie when she gets more experience... Then again, now she's gonna have nostalgia goggles on when watching it. I really cursed you forever Arcueid.

However, I now have an unique opportunity present in front of me... Rika is currently busy chatting with Sensei.
