The vampire is silent as he dies, Vlov falls to the ground unceremoniously, it's like he was a puppet that just had it strings cut. It almost makes me laugh, the immortal chivalrous knight met his end like a normal person.
He died without saying any cool last words, and it was so sudden he probably didn't even realize what was happening. It's a death fitting for trash like him, even if I wanted to inflict a more painful one.
With his death the blizzard ends, it's immediate. I imagine it's because I truly 'killed' him by hitting his point of death, and that point is probably from where his lines originate in the first place.
If the lines of death are weaknesses that everything has, than that point might be what causes that weakness. It's just a theory though, something I'll have to ask Shiki about it later.
Rika rushes to my side. "Yuta! Are you okay!?" It's a difficult question to answer, mostly because I'm not completely sure myself.
There's a building pain in my entire body, but it's mostly concentrated in my arm, the one I will probably have to ampute or something, but those aren't the end of my damages...
My hand feels like it's broken in every way imaginable, and it's probably the fault of the Black Flash. It also goes without saying that my head feels like it's about to burst.
I smile. "I feel so fucked up right now Rika." Adrenaline is one hell of a drug, it's kind of crazy that it let me ignore all the pain I'm feeling now.
Rika looks worried. "Oh no! Let's take you to a hospital Yuta! Right now!" How the hell would I even explain my wounds to a doctor? I tripped and fell many, many stairs?
I sit down, panting. "No, let's wait for Senpai, she will be here soon." She's unbelievably fast, so the fact that Vlov threw her a kilometer away won't matter. She also has the advantage that this city isn't like the catacombs and it's confusing layout, she can head straight here.
Rika looks down, my girlfriend is truly sad. "Yuta... I don't think Rabbit survived that, I don't know if I would survive that." Vlov's spear was truly powerful, it's kind of a shame that I destroyed.
I wave Rika off. "Of course she survived, she..." Then I remember Rika doesn't know, I give her an apostle face. "Sorry, you missed an important talk I had with Senpai, she's immortal." The spear shouldn't have killed her, because nothing can.
Rika's face brightens up. "Oh~! What a useful cowardly survival power! As expected of Rabbit...! I'm glad she's alive." Please stop calling Senpai a coward! You will hurt her feelings!
I chuckle and sit down. "Yeah, Senpai can never stay down. Literally." I definitely can though, it feels like I'm breathing glass, staying so long in that blizzard cannot have been healthy.
Suddenly Rika has a epiphany. "Oh no! I can't threaten Rabbit with anything!" That's what you're thinking about right now!? "Hopefully she never graduates from a small herbivore." You were calling Senpai a herbivore all this time!?
My head cracks again, I groan in pain. "This sucks...!" I need something like Shiki's Mystic Eye Killers, or I'll go crazy. The human mind was not born to see death everywhere.
The power in my eyes is something that only gods of death should hold, at least that's what Sensei said about them. If a human who could handle them did exist, then I imagine they would be truly insane.
Rika gives me a worried look. "Yuta...? Do you have a concussion? Let me look at your eyes." She's searching for the usual signs a person with that condition would have, but instead what she sees is... "Ah! Four Eyes freaky eyes!"
I nod. "Yeah, for some reason I kept them even after my glasses got knocked away... That's how I killed Vlov." It's a good thing my ability decided to bug or whatever.
I continue. "I... Don't know how to turn them off, so I'll close my eyes for now Rika." I can't handle their strain for much longer, so I'll simply refuse to look at death.
The moment my eye lids close I'm hit with an immediate sense of relief. My headache is still there of course, but now it's not constantly growing stronger.
Before I felt like someone with a hammer was constantly cracking my skull, now I just have to live with that cracked skull. An improvement!
Rika pats my head. "Maybe if I get the glasses back inside of me it will stop?" I didn't think about that, it sounds like a simple solution.
I nod. "Please do so Rika, though I can't help you find them right now..." I don't want to open my eyes, not until I know my head won't explode at least.
Rika smiles... probably, I can't see her after all, but I know how my girlfriend acts. "Okay, I'll look for them!" I can hear her looking around, hopefully they didn't get thrown far away.
To be honest they were probably completely destroyed... The got hit by one of Vlov's blows after all. It's a miracle my head didn't follow suit, it's just as expected, fighting beings like that in close quarters isn't smart.
I need to learn some healing magic, because right now everyone else is tankier than me. Though I doubt healing magic can ever heal as fast as a vampire...
I sigh. "No luck yet?" I think they really might have been destroyed. That sucks, hopefully Sensei can help me.
Rika sighs after me. "Yeah, no luck... By the way, Rabbit sure is taking her time, are you sure about the whole immortality thing?"
I nod. "Yeah, I'm sure. Senpai told me that herself, besides I think she was the one who hit Vlov with that massive arrow at the end." Archery is cool, maybe I should try it sometime.
Suddenly a massive tremor happens near me, it scatters dirt everywhere, but I don't open my eyes to confirm what it is. "See? Senpai finally arrived." Did she really have to make a Hulk type of entrance though?
A voice that it's very much not like Senpai at all responds. "Eh? I'm your senior now!? Wait, that isn't important! Let me check on you Yuta!" It's...!
"Ah! Bimbocueid! What are you doing here!?And why are you all... what happened to you?" This vampire is way too late for the party, I would have certainly appreciated her help against Vlov. Though maybe it's good that she's late, I have a feeling Vlov would have aimed solely at her.
Could she have survived his spear? Maybe, maybe not, either way I don't want Arcueid getting hurt. And I'm also afraid of Senpai meeting her, it just seems like a bad idea...
And what did Rika mean by what happened to you? Is Arcueid hurt? There's no way right? She didn't fight Vlov after all, and I doubt a ghoul could have hurt her.
I can hear Arcueid slowly making her way towards me, still she responds to Rika. "I'm here because everything got destroyed duh! I'm sure Sensei is making her way here as well... And don't worry, it's not mine." You're calling Aoko Sensei now!? What sort of important development did I miss!? And what's not yours!?
She continues. "Anyways, where's the bad guy!? Is it Vlov again!? Let me at him, I'll show him what's what!" I'm glad you still have your usual enthusiasm.
I snort. "I already showed him 'what's what' he's a corpse now... Actually I had a lot of help, so I can't claim all the credit for it." Without Rika and Ciel I could not have beaten him.
Rika snorts too, she does it immediately after I do, like a bad imitation. "Yeah Bimbocueid, you missed all the action! Yuta, me... and Rabbit destroyed him!" Destroyed might be too much, I'm pretty sure I'm going to lose an arm.
Arcueid seems to be in shock. "B-but... I guess Rika could take down Vlov, but Sensei said you guys shouldn't get involved! Did you guys disobey Sensei...?"
I sigh. "Here's a lesson for you Arcueid, Sensei is always absolutely right, you should never ever disobey her at all. She has the wisdom of a billion humans."
I grin. "But I have the dumbassery of a billion human as well, I can definitely match her. Though today I might have surpassed her."
Rika chuckles. "I think you're overestimating Sensei way too much Yuta, and please don't be proud of being dumb... Not that you are." I definitely am, don't let your yandere beliefs fool you.
Arcueid giggles, it's a pleasant sound, one which I missed dearly. "I'm glad both of you are in high spirits... To be honest I have something to confess Rika, Yuta."
Her voice sounds strangely shy. "You guys... Shiki too... You three are my one and only best friends in the entire world." Ah! That's...!
It's embarrassing to admit, but my heart just skipped a beat. I'm not even looking at her, but my imagination covers for what her embarrassed face must look like.
I smile. "You are one of my best friends too Arcueid." Even if I haven't spent too much time with her at all, my friendship with Arcueid is probably a consequence of the isolation I went through for so many years, and still... I really like her. There's no meaning to looking deeper into it.
Rika gaps. "Wow! Yuta is being sincere!" Don't act like it's a rare thing! "T-then I guess I have to be sincere too... Y-you are important to me too Arcueid."
Arcueid gasps. "Y-you guys...! Sensei was right!" What was Sensei right about? Don't just drop that into my lap without explaining anything!
The vampire sighs. "S-still as nice as this is... I disapprove of you going to fight the Dead Apostle Ancestor, Yuta! You could have died!"
She continues. "Sensei told me that you don't even have magic circuits! So while I get Rika, you should have stayed home... Like at Shiki's home or something."
She gasps. "Oh no! Don't tell me you stayed homeless all this time! I'm sorry you stayed homeless! I should have offered you some place to stay, like at the Millennium Castle or something!"
She keeps rambling. "It's just that I was so distracted, and mad, and worried! So I put all my effort into hunting Vlov! But he was like a cockroach who always got away! And so I... I started fighting more and more dangerously!"
I feel like even Arcueid doesn't know what she wants to say. "And then Sensei told me to stop being weird, and she became my Sensei and, and...! There's just so much I want to tell you!"
I hear a loud noise, and suddenly I'm being hugged. Normally I would feel a lot of pain from this since my arm is so fucked up, but I got to the point where it doesn't even hurt anymore. That's probably a bad sign... Where is Senpai anyways? She should have arrived already.
Arcueid continues talking while hugging me. "I really missed you Yuta!" She takes a moment to think. "That's it...! I'm joining Rika! Open up some space in your shadow, Yuta!"
I awkwardly chuckle. "I don't think that's happening Arcueid, seriously." How would she even be able to live in my shadow? And most importantly of all. "My privacy is already invaded enough." And I have a feeling she would be even more of a control freak than Rika.
Rika actually growls. "Yeah Bimbocueid! Let Yuta have his privacy!" You definitely can't say anything! "Besides, his shadow is mine! Totally mine! I'm not sharing!" Why do you have possession over my shadow!? Isn't it supposed to be mine!?
Arcueid releases me from the hug. "Geez, I was rejected so quickly! I guess I can just use my old tactic then!"
She giggles. "I'm back to watching you by standing on trees Yuta! Just like that time you went to school!" Don't casually admit to stalking! Though I already knew it...
I sigh. "Stalking is still invading my privacy Arcueid... Though I guess I can't stop you." Besides, having a girl stalking me is super fucking hot, specially when she's an immortal vampire! "Won't you get tired from watching me though?" I can't be live entertainment! I'm not even a cute girl.
Arcueid sighs. "I should get bored, shouldn't I? But I never do for some reason... Watching you always feels great! Though I prefer being with you instead!" When did you arrive at such yandere levels!?
Rika gasps. "W-wow! Bimbocueid... you're super serious about Yuta aren't you!? Stop being serious right now!" Please continue being serious!
Rika continues. "And you even gave him a gift just now!" A gift? "Yep, that's it. Know your limits and go after Four Eyes or something." Friend NTR!? Over my dead body!
Arcueid chuckles. "Sorry Rika, but I can't... Speaking of Yuta..." Her tone goes back to worried. "How badly damaged are you? Are you blind? You shouldn't have fought Vlov..."
I smile. "Don't worry, I fought him just fine. Sensei was wrong before, it turns out that I do have magic." And the only reason I learned about it was... "Someone made a deeper scan of my body and found out. She has been teaching me, so I'll introduce you two later." Even if she's late.
I can hear Arcueid stepping back in shock. "You do have magic!? And you managed to get strong enough to fight a Dead Apostle Ancestor!? You're seriously impressive Yuta!"
She continues. "But still, did you get hurt or not? Please open your eyes already, it's freaking me out." I guess I am acting like Brock from Pokémon right now, aren't I?
I wave her off with my arm that still works. "I'm fine, I'm not blind or anything. Some stuff just happened and I don't want to open them right now."
I continue. "I might lose one of my arms though, I got stabbed by a huge, massive, ice spike! Thankfully it doesn't hurt anymore, mostly because I can't feel it!" Truly the human body is amazing.
Arcueid gasps. "That's bad Yuta! Though maybe... maybe I can do something about it using Vlov's corpse."
She sighs in relief. "Yeah, this is definitely fixable. Though I have to find where his corpse is in the first place." So I can get my arm back? Nice.
I shrug. "He should be around here somewhere. We are in the middle of were we fought and killed him." Speaking of that...
How the hell is the church gonna hide this!? I mean, the blizzard ended after I killed him, but still...! Vlov wiped out a whole city block probably!
He killed thousands of people in very unnatural ways! There's no way this can be hidden from normal people, specially with cellphones and stuff! Though I guess Vlov didn't leave any witnesses...
Arcueid takes a moment to respond, I assume she's looking around. "Oh! Found it! It's the weird medieval looking guy huh?"
Rika nods. "Yeah, he doesn't look like a vampire at all." He does though! You're just letting your Twilight delusions control you!
I sigh. "Rika, I never met a guy more vampiric looking than him. He was basically spear wielding Dracula!" Never mind that though. "So can you fix my arm Arcueid? Am I gonna get a sweet vampire arm...? Please do it quickly by the way, I'm about to pass out."
Bloodloss and all that, my wound is still open after all. The only reason my vision isn't going white is because my eyes are closed. Seriously, where is Senpai? She's supposed to fix me up!
She chuckles. "Yeah, kind of... It won't really be a vampire arm, but I will use his bio mass. I have to do it when you're sleeping though, so feel free to pass out anytime!" Passing out is bad though! "And don't worry, I'll make sure you have very, very nice dreams." What does that even mean!?
She continues. "What's up with your eyes though? Open them already... I want you to look at me Yuta." You're definitely raising some red flags!
I sigh. "It's... complicated. But basically Rika can copy abilities, even super broken ones like Shiki's mystic eyes." I ignore the shocked noise she makes at that. "So I copied his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception."
I continue. "Normally they manifest as items, and I can take them off at any time..." I'm wearing Vlov's winter coat right now even. "But for some reason the eyes stayed even after I took off the glasses."
Well, it's more like Vlov took them off with a backhanded attack. It's kinda scary that he almost popped my head with that, I even started feeling like I was hearing voices.
Arcueid sounds worried. "That does sound bad... But don't worry Yuta, under this moonlight you can look at me all you want. Open your eyes." Under this moonlight huh?
I bet the moon does look beautiful, I open my eyes and stare at Arcueid. "Huh, you're right." It's like I just took some headache medicine and their effects were immediate.
Arcueid is standing below the moonlight's glow, and even though the world around here is filled with death, she isn't... Not a single line is found on her body.
I smile. "That's some amazing stuff Arcueid." But even so, even so...! There's something off about this! Something my mind is purposefully ignoring.
It's not mine. Those are the words Arcueid said before...! That's...! Kill this vampire? Definitely not!
Arcueid giggles, her body is covered in deep red blood. "Yeah, I'm fully immortal when the moon is out, not even your eyes can kill me." That's good and all...
But before anything else I have to know something. "Arcueid, why are you covered in blood?" It's from ghouls right? It has to be.
Arcueid sighs. "Well, on the way here I met that blue haired executor... She was being super suspicious since she was going here at full speed!"
She continues. "Well, she could have been hunting Vlov, but I didn't want to risk her hurting Rika! So I decided to fight her off!"
There's an almost innocent glee to her words. "She was pretty tough, so I ripped both of her arms off! Even so, she kept fighting, so next went her spine~! Just to be sure I threw her really far away too, I don't think I managed to throw her into orbit, but I got pretty close."
"Huh?" Those are my last words, and then, maybe because of the bloodloss or the shock, probably both...
I pass out.
