"When did life become so goddamn stressful?" Today might be the scariest day of my life, it almost feels like I'm an actor returning to an important show after not working on it for a long time.
I can hear Rika whispering on my ear. "Don't be a drama queen Yuta." And you don't be crazy! We are in front of the damn school gate, so don't announce your presence to every normal person here...! It's making me feel even more stressed.
Kohaku tilts her head. "Eh? What's so bad about your life?" My life is perfection. That perfection is now threatened.
Hisui nods, though she looks as stoic as ever. "If it bother you, we will eliminate it Elder Brother." Don't talk as if you're an super assassin.
A sigh escapes my mouth. "Don't worry too much about it... And don't call me brother in public." I don't want to act depressed, that will probably ruin their big day, their first day really. Because Kohaku and Hisui are finally starting school.
And they're not going to the same year as me of course, they're older, so they're third years. They might struggle a bit with the material of course, but they should be fine... They were homeschooled. I don't know what education the Tohno's gave them, but it was probably decent.
Kohaku pouts, it looks adorable and tempting. "Why shouldn't I call my amazing Big Bro by his deserved title!?" She's basically shouting our connection... our made up connection outloud. Ah, her energy is cute, but that's what worries me.
Hisui's eyes slightly widen. "Honored Sister... I agree with the sentiment, but am I expected to scream as well...?" She's blushing bright red, adorable and tempting. And with a nod from Kohaku. "I'm the younger sister of Yuta Okkotsu!" Her energy is cute, but that's what worries me.
As you can probably tell by now they are adorable, tempting, and their cute energy is worrying me. If you have noticed that after I repeated myself numerous times... We are kin in the intelligence department. Be proud, apparently I'm actually smart when I try.
Back to my issue however, I... I do not trust the Japanese education system to protect my little sisters from any evil doers! As said before, they're from another year, so I can't watch and protect them at all times...!
I really should have asked Senpai to put them on a all girls school... Nah. This is the right idea. Kohaku and Hisui need to have contact with all genders, it's just that I worry the male gender will be a little pushy, specially with Hisui who can't even touch a man yet.
In the end, I'll put trust on my little sisters...! And Senpai, who will probably keep watch over them anyways. "My heart isn't built for stuff like this..." I almost wish I was fighting Vlov again... Killing vampires is easier than this.
Ciel pats my shoulder, she has undoubtedly noticed the source of my worries. "Don't worry Yuta... There's no need to be so jumpy all the time." That's strange, coming from you of all people... but it's also probably right.
I take a deep breath. "You're right Senpai. As usual." If nothing else, I know I can always trust my amazing religious, but not really teacher. Well, the blue haired one, not the... erm... other one.
Today is gonna go fine.
"For real!?" It's slower than Vlov, slower by a decent bit, but the... thing does almost graze me. Thankfully I manage to pump my body with grain fast enough to strengthen it, allowing me to dodge the creature.
And what a creature it is... some weird puppet... human thing. It's walking like a spider, but the body is definitely of a human, if a human had eight arms. It's both funny and scary, uncanny too, but that goes without saying.
It's also filled to the brim with weapons, some attached to its arms, and some using some kind of metal rods to hold itself on its back. It's mouth also definitely has something inside of it... maybe the barrel of a gun?
The weirdest part of it however, is it's blazing red hair, and clear blue eyes. I can almost feel Sensei kicking me just by looking at it... She's definitely involved with this one way or another, so I'll definitely need to find her. Today preferably.
The puppet of carnage looks at me, and as expected, inside of its mouth there is a firearm. That sort of thing isn't dangerous to me though. "Rika, crush his skull, thank you." My amazing girlfriend can't manifest fully here.
At least now without breaking this very tiny public restroom of the school, but she doesn't need to anyways. This thing... it's definitely tougher than your average undead, maybe for a magus it's even a masterpiece of a weapon, but for the Queen of Curses?
I can hear the spite in my girlfriend's voice. "Okay...!" She crushes the puppet in one move, no hesitation at all. "Interrupting people while they're... doing private stuff is a no go." Thank you for defending my honor.
But I can't help, but remember that time when you wanted to hold my dick while I peed. I rejected it of course, even the mighty Yuta Okkotsu possesses limits. That's a lie, I let it happen, sorry, I can't say no to her.
I slowly walk closer to the puppet, my guard is still raised of course. You never know when some bastard will get up again after being beaten to the ground. Maybe that's just my experience with vampires speaking though...
I lightly kick it, thankfully it doesn't react. "Was this like... an assassination attempt or something?" If so, it failed miserably. That said, maybe this was just some random monster meant to attack any poor student who was in the restroom.
Rika shrugs in my shadow. "I don't know, but it wasn't too troublesome anyways." Maybe for us, but we are built different my dear little world ending yandere. "I think Sensei is involved though, her hair is pretty iconic looking..." Um...
I nod. "I was thinking the same thing... Well, she is apparently a big deal, someone was bound to target us now that she's back." It's still surprising though. Isn't this sort of a declaration of war against the church...? I'm now part of them after all.
I crouch and begin analyzing the puppet. I'm not exactly a master magus... in fact, I wouldn't blame you for not considering me a magus at all, but maybe I can notice something useful?
I pump my grain through it, right now I'm casting the most basic of spells, in which my reserves will return and give me information about this... thing. Sadly, it is way too complex, I can sort of understand how a few things work, but not the entirety of it.
What I can also notice, is that this puppet has a few systems that will bring it back to life as soon as I turn my back to it. "I knew it...!" It's the oldest trick in the book! Apparently! Every goddamn enemy gets up after being knocked down.
Rika takes a tiny bit of her upper body from my shadow. "Knew what? That some strange creep is trying to make a Sensei sex doll?" No, though I'm sure that such a horrible thing is probably happening somewhere.
Such a man is my mortal enemy of course, seeing as I shall one day marry my dear Sensei. "No, someone just made sure this thing was annoying to get rid off." I think it's also... capable of nullifying mana to certain levels?
This is a true mage killer, that's for sure, but it wouldn't be too much trouble for most people I know. Shiki could cut it up in pieces, and it wouldn't get up, Ciel is far better at getting up, my big sis-, Arcuei is herself.
It almost makes me feel like I'm above the petty squabbles of an average magus, and damn if that doesn't boost my already high ego to new levels... I shouldn't become Icarus though, a magus can be quite unpredictable.
I close my eyes, and yet again pump my grain through the puppet. This time though, I'm not aiming for simple analysis, I want to tear this thing down 'till there's no trace of magical energy. It's easy for me, my grain eats through this thing like it is it's favorite breakfast.
The advantages of running on alien juice are vast indeed.
Well, now that the problem has been dealt with... "Guess I'll go back to class. We can call Sensei after it." She's herself, so I'm sure she's fine... I mean, she could tear through me like paper, so surely that applies to anything that is on the level of this puppet.
Rika's hand suddenly leaves her shadow, it give me a pat in the head. "Yuta, please put that amazingly big brain of yours to work." Are you complementing me, or insulting me!? Both probably... "We shouldn't just leave this thing here..." Wow, Miss I came out in the school gate is showing common sense!?
I wish I could pat her head right now, I'm so nervous with the things revolving around my family that I almost forgot a very important thing. "You're right Rika, thanks for pointing it out." It Senpai find out I let a normal student see this...
Ah! The tragedy! I can see it on my mind's eye, all the Ciel love points I have carefully raised going down to zero in an instant! My dream of pounding the butt of a good girl like her forever gone! I might cry.
Jokes that are only sort of jokes aside though... "But how the hell am I gonna get rid of this?" Should I call Senpai...? Yeah, who am I kidding? She definitely turned off her cellphone during classes.
I can't exactly just leave the restroom to go get her either, a student might enter while I'm gone... I guess I could leave Rika guarding this place, but I don't want to separate from her while there's some mage assassin after me because of my beautiful, and totally romantic connection with Sensei.
Rika leaves my shadow for an instant, and takes a good look at the thing. "I... I could eat it? Maybe...?" Huh, I wonder if we could get a super power out of you munching this thing... I doubt it though.
I shake my head. "No need, I don't want you eating trash." Let's ignore the fact that she ate Vlov's arm of course, that was an emergency! "Besides, I have an idea!" Thankfully, I'm always being followed around by a friendly neighborhood vampire.
I slowly walk over to the window. I'm actually curious on what Arcueid is doing right now... I would have expected that she would immediately come to my side if I was ever attacked, but apparently no...
Man, Senpai is gonna get mad at me. Even though I'm recuperating, and my arm isn't exactly... attached yet, I went and fought. It couldn't be helped though, and Rika was the one actually dealing damage anyways.
I knock on the window. "Hey Arcueid, come here for a second!" She doesn't notice me though, because Arcueid is... messing with a cellphone? And a pretty modern looking one at that. Don't tell me my moon princess has been consumed by the modern era!
I can feel Rika shivering in fear, she sees what I see... "Oh no, Bimbocueid probably has free access to the internet now...!" Don't act like the internet is the dangerous factor here, you were the one who introduced her to Twilight.
I sigh. "And apparently the internet has more charm than me..." Is it strange that I find it offensive that my yandere vampire girlfriend is not keeping constant watch over me? Ugh, kids and their cellphones these days...
Rika giggles, she doesn't say anything, but I can feel a smug aura coming from her. It screams, it couldn't be me. Now, now, my beautiful ghost girlfriend, do not be so proud over you possessing higher yandere capabilities.
This is annoying though. Opening the restroom of the school is actually quite annoying, they keep it locked at all times, and I have no idea what they do with the keys. It's probably a measure to prevent some plan from a weird pervert or something...
I pinch my nose, trying to push back my frustration. "Hey Rika, you don't think you can phase through walls, can you?" She is a ghost so maybe...? We never really tried something like this, but maybe Rika's form allows it.
Yet again, she manifests a small part of herself. "Maybe...? I think I can do it as long as it doesn't have any... mystic stuff on it." Well, not time like the present to learn new abilities! We could probably impress Senpai with this later...
I smile. "Then please try it Rika... And then go and knock some sense into Arcueid's head." Punishing the vampire should serve as a great motivator for my ghost girlfriend. The two... don't quite get along after all.
Rika fully leaves my shadow this time, barely fitting in on the restroom. "I'll try... I kinda want to scream at Bimbocueid." Please don't, we are in school...
After a few tries of uselessly poking the wall, Rika actually manages to get her arm through. "Wow, you're actually doing it! Awesome!" Such amazing development deserves positive reinforcement.
Rika grins, and pushes more of her body out. "I know, I'm great! It feels nice to hear it said outloud sometimes though...!" And with one final push she completely leaves the room. My girlfriend can now successfully pass through objects.
I wonder if I can use this to prank someone? Is it strange that this is the first place my mind has gone towards? Probably, but I kinda wanna see Akiha's reaction to a ghost appearing out of nowhere.
I look through the window, I can see Rika slowly moving to Arcueid, and finally getting her attention with a should poke. After that they start talking, but I can't hear what they are saying, both because they are far away, and because the window muffles any sounds.
Arcueid slowly looks over to my direction, our eyes meet, and then she puts her cellphone into her skirt pocket. And then she... leaps at the window, covering considerable distance with just one jump.
At this point I'm already used to supernatural feats such as this one, so I don't even bat an eye. What does surprise me though, is that she lands in front of me... somehow. This is the second floor... is she holding onto the wall with her claws or something?
There's a smile on her face. "So what do you need me for Yuta? By the way, sorry that I wasn't watching, I was stalking you on that social media thing!" I have like... three photos online. Did you just constantly look at three photos?
While my mind takes it's time to process this information, Rika has enough time to return, in this attempt at utilizing her ghost abilities however, she passes through the wall with no struggle. I guess it's the sort of thing you only need to learn once? Anyways, she is now back into my shadow.
I respond her smile with one of my own. "I see, even if I have no idea how you got a phone. Anyways... I motion to the dead puppet, one can barely see it through the fairly short window. "I was attacked by something, so I want you to have a look." I step back. I know my vampire girlfriend well enough at this point!
Arcueid's smile immediately disappears. "What...?" It's always an amazingly scary switch to see, the moment her facial expression changes from the one you would expect a princess to have... to the one a vampire would.
Rika takes a portion of herself out of my shadow, I guess she refuses to miss such a golden opportunity. "Yuta just said you were too distracted with your phone, so you didn't see us getting attacked, Bimbocueid." Truly phones are scary...
But I actually approve of Arcueid's new attitude, it's like she was slowly descending out of her way of life, that way of life being watching me throughout the whole day. Now though, she will probably, sadly return to old habits.
And aftern Rika mocks the vampire, the reason why I stepped back is revealed. Arcueid punches the window, and in one second the glass is gone, she then enters through that window almost as if she was a snake.
You know, while I'm glad you care, there is a high chance I get blamed for breaking public property... I guess I rather be known as the guy who broke a school window, over being known as the guy who exposed magecraft to non-mages.
Arcueid puts her hands on my shoulders, I notice that she applies much lesser force on my reconstructed arm, how nice of her. "Are you okay Yuta? Is your arm still attached? Do I need to commit genocide?" Why would you even say the third question!?
I nod. "Yeah, I'm fine. This thing wasn't much of a challenge... it was aimed at killing magi, but we all know I'm not exactly a normal practitioner." Now I wonder... Do the people who have sent this robot after me know that?
Arcueid squints her eyes. "Let me take a look at it." I move out of her way. The vampire princess is actually surprisingly smart and knowledgeable... when she wants to be, so maybe she will have something important to say.
She crouches next to it, but doesn't pump mana through it like I did. Which is probably a good thing... she would definitely get mad at me after all! I ended up destroying the robot from inside, so it's almost like I was tempering with evidence!
Arcueid tilts her head. "Huh, this is sort of familiar... I think I definitely fought something like this before." Really...? Then maybe this isn't Sensei's fault... It's yours! Well, I won't get mad, that's just the price of dating a True Ancestor.
I chuckle a little, it's because I can't contain my emotions of course. Feel free to come at me you random ass vampires, while you cry, I shall clap Arcueid's buttcheeks! Ah, I haven't actually done that yet...
I crouch next to her. "So can you recall what it was all about?" I poke the puppet. "I thought for sure this involved Sensei somehow, considering the hair and everything, so it's kind of reassuring to hear it doesn't." My Sensei is human.
She may be strong, she can even sort of fight Arcueid, and she can discipline Rika of course, but... There's no doubt that she is not some mythical being, she needs to sleep, she needs to eat, and someone can hurt her if they get lucky.
Arcueid puts a hand on her chin. "Actually, this definitely involves Sensei." For real!? "Um... Yeah, I remember now... So you know those awesome glasses you're wearing?" I wish I could forget them.
I nod. "Ayup, they certainly have added more spice to my look." Also, they're annoying as hell. How does Shiki live with these all the time!? How does he suffer through a 3D movie in Cinema!?
Arcueid looks away. "Well, we got those by raiding the workshop of Sensei's sister." There's a slight blush on her face. "I remember breaking through hundreds of these." Ah. So it's revenge huh.
Ah, so it's the work of Touko huh? I knew she was in the area due to Ryougi, but I didn't think she would pull something like this... Does this mean I'll need to defeat the demon hunter? Well, I'm confident in my abilities.
I take a deep breath. "Welp, I'll go find Sensei after class, I should at least warn her of this mess." I look back at the vampire. "By the way Arcueid, can you get rid of this body for me?" Surely she has some trick that can do it?
She tilts her head. "Can't Rika just eat it?"
"No." Yes. Technically.
AN: It's True Love has returned!
Here's how it's posting schedule is gonna work... One chapter per week, though if I feel like it, I may post more than one. Mostly because I don't like restricting myself with time, but I do have two other active fics right now.
That said... if you are interested in getting a bit more Yuta... by throwing two dollars at my you can get two chapters earlier than normal! Oh, and if I do update this fic an extra time on a week, then will get an extra chapter as well of course.
This is a pretty exciting step for me, so let's see how it pans out! Here's the Px1reon in question!
