"Hey Shiki, we need to talk after school is over. It involves Sensei." I silently whisper to my brother from another mother. "And also murder puppets." Which are fodder to Rika, so it's not that scary.
Shiki closes his eyes, and takes a deep breath. "I should have expected the words murder when you mentioned Sensei, and yet I didn't." It's okay, my love points with her are higher, so I understand her better. "It can't be helped, I'll follow you." Shikatanai indeed my buddy.
I pat his shoulder. "Okay then, I'll go check on my not sisters. If they were hurt and I commit genocide... remember me as I once was, not what I became." Both are pretty awful, but he seems to like me for some dumb reason.
He looks at his group of friends, consisting of... Redhead I used to bully, and fairly bland girl I sort of bully now. "I'll go with you. I want to check on Hisui and Kohaku too." Right, I should have expected that.
While I was the one who ended up pulling Kohaku and Hisui out of that mansion, he did spend a bunch of time with them, specially with Hisui, since she used to be his maid. Also, I bet Akiha wants to know how they're doing.
As soon as we begin walking towards the door however... it opens with the sound of thunder. "Yahallo!" Ah!? An arrival from a scary series!? Well, not really. It's just Kohaku, who announces her entrance with a shout.
Immediately everyone's eyes focus on her, I would say it's because she's beautiful and had stolen everyone's hearts already, but it's probably just because she entered class like a manic and nobody recognizes her.
I should have expected this to be honest, there's no way Kohaku would just sit in her classroom during lunchtime. Thankfully I can see Hisui and Senpai being dragged along by her, so I imagine they stopped the ex-maid from causing any apocalyptic destruction.
I awkwardly wave at her. "Yahallo to you as well." My gaze then shifts to Ciel. "So Senpai, how did it go?" My heart is beating so fast that I might die soon. Ah, how the hell do big broters survive!?
Well, this should be nothing new to me... I do have a little sister, a biological one, I just never bothered connecting with her. Recently the most I have done is call my parents for a qucik chat... Maybe once this town is free of vampires, like that Roa bastard, I'll visit them.
My response from a Ciel is a smile, just as awkward as my own. It tells many stories, and yet I can only try and predict which one is true. I could also actually ask the twins, but I have a feeling their story would be a little... embellished.
Once Kohaku catches me in her sight, she basically throws herself at me. "Big bro...!" I have no choice, but to hold onto her with a hug. Argh, she definitely introduced herself as my big sister, didn't she?
Arihiko takes a step back in shock. "Okkotsu had such a cute little sister!?" She's actually older than me. However, his reaction seems to be the standard one shared by the class, welp, I guess there are worse fates to live through...
I can almost imagine it in my head, Arcueid entering class and announcing herself as my big sister... Or worse, Sensei deciding she actually wants to own that title, and then pointing at me and screaming, I raised that boy!
I pat her back. "Yeah, yeah... I'm here... Let's go kill whatever caused you such a reaction." If Kohaku is throwing herself at my arms, that must mean she is looking for protection, if she's looking for protection, that must mean she was attacked!
Kohaku ends the hug, and steps back. A look of mock confusion on her face. "Please don't end your life Big Bro." I haven't attacked you...! I think. I might have done so and forgotten, please forgive me if that's the case.
Hisui walks over to us, she's not rushing like her sister. "Do not worry Elder Brother, everything went on without a hitch." That's really good to hear. Jokes about the animal nature of men, I was worried about you two acclimating to class in general.
Ciel is the next to walk over. "Now, that isn't exactly true..." Oh? And now the twins are shaking... "Kohaku kept talking during class, and the teacher scolded her." For real!? That's great...!
Okay, let me explain my thought process. Kohaku can actually do her job as a maid, she can stay silent when she needs to, so this isn't due to a lack of discipline... This is just her feeling comfortable in this environment.
That said, I'm sort of surprised Senpai had to be the one to snitch. Maybe I shouldn't be though, Hisui has always protected her actual Big Sis, so there's no reason that would change when it comes to school.
I pet her head. "Oh? We have a troublemaker here? Don't do it again, even your dumb Big Bro listens to class." My smile probably gives out my true feelings, but it just can't be helped. If Kohaku is happy, then I'm happy.
Shiki chuckles in the background. "Yuta you..." I, what!? Don't just begin to say stuff and then stop midway through! Do you think you're an anime character of some kind!? Has the Oregairu disease affected you too!?
Well, I never have enough time to question him, because Arihiko interrupts me. "Wait... how does Senpai know what's going on in the class of these two? She's a third year..." Ah, their big bro schtick is already causing confusion.
I push my glasses up. "Well, first of all let me introduce you and Yumizuka to this legendary pair." I motion to the twins. "Their names are Kohaku and Hisui, and contrary to what they say, they're not actually my little sisters, just some friends I'm helping." Hopefully one day we shall become more than friends!
Kohaku waves me off. "Don't worry about what Big Bro says, he's just embarrassed. We are his little sisters." That isn't the case, and if it was... That would make my eventual romance with you two very weird!
Hisui quickly nods. "Yes, Elder Brother is the type of man who is embarassed by the strangest of things, and confident about other... equally strange things." She lightly pokes my cheek. "Cute." I...
Damn it, now I'm blushing! I now just how much even one touch from Hisui means, so poking me right now is just straight up unfair! There's no way I can defend myself if she drags me to the Hisuizone! This is like... advanced hypnosis!
Yumizuka raises an eyebrow. "So... he really is your older brother? And were you two smart enough to skip some years ahead or something?" She looks at me. "It wouldn't surprise if that was the case... Okkotsu is definitely smart enough to pull it off too, if he wasn't so lazy." Gimme a break, isn't it enough to have good grades!?
Ciel lightly laughs. "Don't worry too much about it, the story is confusing, but these two really are his younger sisters." Senpai!? Have you decided to betray me!? In the end, you're the one who's gonna lose Yuta points! "Isn't that right, Kouhai?" She looks at me.
I look away, my face must be completely red. "Y-yeah, they're my younger sisters." This isn't fair at all. Of course I won't be able to resist the allure of Hisui, Kohaku and Ciel! No true man would... Specially since my bro isn't backing me up.
I look at Shiki with pleading eyes. He quickly notices that I'm begging for salvation, and yet he has the gall to smirk... I'm definitely telling this to Akiha! I'll tell her all about how her dear brother is a heartless bastard that cares for no one!
And now, since he didn't come to my rescue, Kohaku begins giggling. "He finally admitted it." She winks in my direction. "Ciel has you on a tight leash, doesn't she? Whipped." She's not even my girlfriend... yet of course.
Arihiko glares at me. "You... Hey Okkotsu... You aren't..." He keeps sneaking glances of Ciel. "You and Senpai... ya know..." Even as he messes up his words, his intent is clear. Which means I must give an honest answer.
I puff my chest. "Senpai and I will get married as soon as I finish high school." For a second I fear that such a comment will be too much for Rika, but thankfully she stays in my shadow. I guess even now she doesn't feel threatened by this supposed rabbit.
Ciel blushes bright red. "W-we aren't a couple! Though we are living in the same house...!" Arihiko dies. Okay, he doesn't, but I imagine he does see the grim reaper at least.
I whisper on Senpai's ears. "Not yet." I can see her shivering. "Meet after the school is over, at the back." And those shivers get even worse.
Yes, I did that on purpose.
"S-so, what do you need Yuta!?" She actually came! And she's blushing bright red... Don't tell me that my Senpai was up for it. Seriously, that will break my heart, and this will be considered a wasted opportunity.
Shiki waves at her, revealing his presence. "Ah. Hello Senpai..." That's right, sadly I did not call Ciel here to make out. I wanted to discuss the fact that I was attacked by some weird puppet thing.
Arcueid jumps down from a tree. "Ugh, did she really have to come? Aren't the three of us enough for this?" Probably. But I would like to keep my superior informed, I technically work for her after all. I am a holy man!
Ciel's eye twitches, by this point her blush has completely disappeared. "Yuta... this better be important." It sort of is? Please don't get mad at me Senpai! I didn't know you would follow me with so little information!
When I whispered those words in her ear, I was expecting her to act embarrassed and then reject me. Only then would I whisper the fact that this is actually serious business, but since she complied immediately... Argh, I just messed up.
I send her a weak smile. "Well... it is important, but you won't need to stress too much about it." This doesn't involve any stinking vampire. As far as I can tell at least, but this is Sensei's sister, so maybe she turned herself into one or something.
I just know that I should expect her to be very crazy and even more powerful. If she wasn't, then she wouldn't be Sensei's sister after all.
Ciel crosses her arms and rests against a wall. "Fine, lay it on me Yuta." She has a cute pouty face... she's mad, she's definitely mad. Is she feeling the girl equivalent of blue balls right now?
I clear my throat. "Okay, so today I decided to sacrifice my soul and enter the school's public restroom... It was surprisingly clean." My past life experience had me expecting much worse. "But when I got done with my business and was about to leave... some... murder puppet appeared out of nowhere and attacked me." I have no idea how it sneaked in...
Maybe it was on the ceiling and I didn't notice...? Nah, it was way too big for that. There's a possibility that it entered after I did, that thing was smart after all, not just some dumb puppet made by a mediocre mage.
Rika leaves my shadow, there's no one here besides us, so it should be fine. "And then I crushed it! It went down pretty easily, but Yuta did say it was well made..." We are just built different.
Ciel's eyes widen. "I see...? Well there are many people who could have made a murder puppet... did you two hide the body somewhere? Can I take a look at it?" I really hope Arcueid threw that body to the sun or something.
I wave her off. "Um... don't worry about who did it Senpai, we know their identity. And... Arcueid got rid of the body." I look at her and she sends me a smile. I can see no guilt on it, so she probably really did it.
I make a thinking pose. "Arcueid recognized the puppet as being a creation of Sensei's sister, Touko Aozaki... She's probably mad that Arcueid and Sensei raided her workshop to get my glasses. Anyways, I just wanted you to know what's going on..." I hope I'm not wasting her time.
She sighs, it might be just me, but I can see that she got very tired just now. "So Touko Aozaki decided to show up..." Aoko and Touko huh? They must have been hell on their parents.
Ciel looks to the skies. "Aoko Aozaki and Touko Aozaki are in the same city... the city I'm supposed to be protecting. This is bad." What's with that reaction!? Is Sensei's sister that dangerous!? Well, I do know she has a demon hunter in her back pocket at least.
She goes back to looking at me. "Okay Yuta, no matter what you do, don't get involved, that goes for you too, Shiki. Touko Aozaki can actually be... a fairly reasonable woman, this was probably a warning shot." How is a murder puppet warning anyone of anything!?
But then again, I guess that puppet never had any chance of harming me with Rika by my side. Maybe this really was her way of saying that this mess is between her and her sister, and that I should sit out of it.
I won't of course. "Sorry for the insubordination, but I will get involved. I have no idea who Touko Aozaki is, but... Sensei is precious to me, so I won't risk her getting hurt." I'm decently strong, I can help.
Shiki nods. "And she's precious to me too. I'll be helping Sensei, and cutting down anything that stands in her way." Ah, in the end he came out sounding as even more of an anime protagonist than I did. I'm feeling jealous...
Rika smiles. "I agree with Yuta and Four Eyes, we can't just leave Sensei alone..." She mentored us when we most needed, so it's only natural we want to help her in her destined battle against her own sibling.
It goes without saying, but I would do the same for Senpai. In fact, I plan on killing that Roa monster for her... And for Noel of course. I might be making a few too many promises about fighting people... I plan on keeping them all however.
Arcueid smiles, and interjects. "Oh, and I'll follow these three. Where they go I go! Also... I want to do something for Aoko Aozaki as well, she's a wonderful person through and through." It's good to have you!
Ciel sighs. "Look, I understand where you all are coming from, but..." She points at Shiki. "Shouldn't you be taking care of your sister?" Ah, it is true that she's pretty vulnerable right now, and that isn't all... There's that scary bodyguard hanging around as well.
He may have stopped Noel that one time she was acting weirdly, but I don't trust him. He gives me bad vibes, and at this point I know that when something gives those vibes... they're dangerous. It's my instinct warning me.
After saying that, Senpai points at me. "You're recovering... And most importantly, Yuta Okkotsu does not live for himself." Huh? What's that supposed to mean... If you're calling me selfless, I guess I'll take the compliment, but it isn't true.
She continues, thankfully elaborating on what she said. "Shiki's sister is superhuman. She can defend herself, if something attacked, worst case scenario she could run. But what about Kohaku and Hisui?" I... I hadn't thought of that...
And there is more than just that of course. I have a family, even if I don't talk with them much, if this Touko Aozaki would be willing to target them, then I would...! Just thinking about it makes me angry.
The reason of why I distanced myself from my family was to not cause them troubles, the reason why I helped the twins is because I could not ignore their troubles. That's why I can't just... ruin that for them.
But for some reason, I... "Sorry Senpai, but I don't buy Touko Aozaki hurting innocents. Firstly because she gave me a warning shot, and secondly because... in the end she is the sister of Aoko Aozaki." If she was truly an awful person, then my Sensei would have stopped her a long time ago.
I know, because the same things applies to me, and to Shiki, and to Rika. There's no doubt in my mind, that if any of us took the wrong path... hurt people... Sensei would come and stop us. She has a weird sense of responsibility when it comes to family.
Touko Aozaki is her family of course, just as much as me and the rest of her pupils. Probably... maybe... I actually don't know much of her family situation, so I could be super wrong about this.
Ciel rolls her eyes, at this point she's probably getting frustrated with me and all my complexes. "Welp, I guess I am sort of there to take care of Hisui and Kohaku, should anything happen. I can destroy whatever Touko Aozaki sends after me." That's my always reliable Senpai for you!
My parents are still technically unprotected, but they live far away, so even if Touko does turn out to be the type who targets uninvolved people... She should still take sometime to get to them.
Ciel raises a finger. "But still... even with Arcueid and Rika you should still be very careful!" You didn't even count Shiki!? I guess he is on a lower tier of strength... "Touko Aozaki is a modern legend, one with a Sealing Designation. And her rivalry with her sister is equally legendary!" I was never planning on not being careful.
I scratch my cheek. "I see... I will do my best. And hey, you shouldn't tell this to anyone, but... all my teachers are legendary too." Except for Noel. And the ones who are just normal people. I... Hopefully I got across what I wanted to say.
Ciel rolls her eyes yet again, this time she has a small smile on though. "I guess they are... so how do you guys plan on contacting Aoko Aozaki?" With the power of modern technology of course.
Arcueid raises a hand. "Oh! I know! I know! Let's scour the city looking for her! I bet she has left some craters and stuff...! It will be like... a super cool thing to find her!" No. And she has better not left craters around.
I take my cellphone out of my pocket. "Alternatively... this exists. Remind me to give you my number later by the way." Though... maybe I shouldn't give my girlfriend such a powerful weapon. "Now let's see what Sensei is up too..." Please don't be making massive craters in some random fight...
Souya has already suffered massive damages recently, so I don't need Sensei causing the city even more problems. Then again... I am currently buying property here, and such a disaster would probably lower the price of... No! Go away capitalist Yuta!
I call Sensei, and put the phone to my ear... After a few moments she answers it. "Yo, what do ya need Yuta!?" She answers by screaming of course! Huh, is this the joy of a Christmas cake who has just received an important call!?
Then I might as well supply her with what she needs. "I just want to know... what are you wearing right now~?" Wow, now all my friends are glaring at me. My apologies, I couldn't resist this golden opportunity.
I can hear her sighing through the phone. "Yuta... you are lucky I'm so goddamn alone. I'm wearing my usual combo of course! You can never go wrong with a white shirt and jeans!" She actually answered!? But it wasn't anything sexy...
Well, back to serious mode... "I see, that is a beautiful image as always. Anyways, can I ask you where you are right now? I have... important stuff to tell you." Now, how do I convince her into letting us get involved...?
She lightly laughs. "Thanks for the compliment, brat. But... um... I'm a bit busy right now, are you sure it's not something you could tell me through the phone?" I guess there's nothing wrong with it.
Touko Aozaki is a magus, so there's no way she's doing anything like tracking my phone. "Yeah, I can tell you. Your... crazy sister is in town, and so I... we, everyone got worried for you." I won't even mention that I got attacked. Let's not make Sensei go on a warpath just now.
Sensei hums. "Ah... so you learned that somehow... Don't worry about it Yuta, I'm fine. I'm laying low for a while, until she goes away at least." Y-you are laying low!? Now I don't know if it's really you or an alien who stole your body...!
I scrunch my eyebrows together. "Sensei... where are you right now?" She said she was busy... busy with hiding, I'm guessing? I would like to know at least where she's at anyways.
Aoko takes a long time to respond. "I'm... Look, don't get involved with this Yuta, and tell Shiki and Rika to do the same. It's a messy affair, one that doesn't need teenagers making it even messier." I...
Must use my secret weapon. "Sensei... If you don't tell me where you are, I'll go looking for you. That means I'll be outside, during the whole night, screaming about Aoko Aozaki." The criminal. The groomer.
"Brat... Fine, I'm currently under a bridge..." Victory!
