This chapter and the next are pretty exposition-heavy, but I'll try to make it feel natural and entertaining to read. Also, I'm trying to write for a fandom-blind audience (pun not intended), so there'll be exposition dumps on already known info though I'll try to limit them and hopefully only these 2 chapters will have an abundance of them.

I'll try to mostly give exposition naturally through dialogue and action of the characters, where readers - both fandom-blind and not - can learn about the world and characters by paying attention.

Also, this goes without saying but this is fanfic so I will be taking some liberties with RWBY's world and characters. Though, I'll try not to go too far to the point where things feel unrecognisable.

Chapter 2: Aura and Its Complications

"What's Aura?" Jaune asked with wide eyes.

"Aura is the physical manifestation of the soul," Gin explained. "It is most commonly used for defence, acting like a second skin of armour that protects the user from physical harm."

At first, they were talking about the basics of the sword - Gin even gave Jaune a spare wooden katana - but then Aura got brought up and Jaune became very interested in it after hearing that it was what allowed him to do that slash yesterday and Gin was more than happy to explain it.

"So, it's like a force field?"

"Hmm, I suppose," He shrugged. "Also it should be noted that Aura does not make you invincible."

"Invisible?" Jaune asked.

"No, invincible," Gin answered. "Similar to regular armour, you won't get cut by swords but you can still feel pain and take some damage from strong enough attacks. Also, you can still feel the heat from fire if you're touching it directly but it can block the effects to a certain extent, very convenient during summer or winter as well."

Gin went on to explain how it could enhance the properties of things like making them more durable, making blades sharper and increasing one's strength, speed and even the body's healing abilities.

Then there were the advanced techniques of Aura Manipulation that require more finesse. A common one was the Aura Ripple, a shock wave you release from your hand to a target, using a weapon as a conduit is possible but it often has a lesser effect. It can even make a simple palm strike exert force similar to a cannon.

"I heard that this technique can send Aura inside of a Grimm to make it explode."

"Whoa…"

"A similar effect isn't possible against other Aura users whose Aura prevents foreign Aura from invading their body. Though I don't know about normal people or animals..." Gin touched his chin and smiled, "But if it is possible, it would be a really gory sight. Not that I'd know," He chuckled.

Jaune tilted his head and hummed in confusion.

Gin blushed a bit and coughed, "Moving on."

The Aura Arc, a move where you throw a portion of your aura in a slash for a ranged attack. A simple but effective move. It was the technique that Gin used yesterday.

"Ooh, It's my favourite already. It's got a great name," Jaune cheekily grinned.

"Quite," Gin chuckled. "And the next is..."

"The Aura Realm," A man explained to a group of children. "The existence of this technique is more secretive than the others. The process to even use it more so. To which all of you are forbidden from exposing to the common filth."

"Is something wrong?" Jaune asked when Gin suddenly became silent.

Gin shook his head, "No, it's nothing." Then he smirked, "The next technique is the Aura Realm, one of the most advanced Aura techniques. The user spreads their Aura out, usually in a sphere, which allows the user to feel the shape and movement of almost anything within it. The exact details of the things inside the Realm and its size depend on the skill of the user."

"It's also my favourite technique," Gin continued. "It's extremely useful for my O&M. Uh, that means Orientation and Mobility. It can be a bit exhausting so I don't have it on all the time and mostly limit the size to around two metres, though my maximum size is around thirty metres, but things aren't as clear at that size." Gin pinched his chin, "I sometimes wonder if any other blind person uses it in their daily life."

"... Wait, what?" Jaune asked.

"Yes?" Gin answered.

"You're blind?"

"Not completely, but yes." Gin slightly tilted his head, "You didn't realise it?"

"Uh… no..." Jaune was now feeling very embarrassed. "I'm so sorry," he said with a wince.

"Oh no, it's fine. I forgot that it's not obvious to most people," He chuckled. "Although… I hope that you don't think any less of me because of my blindness." Gin said with a slightly measured and guarded tone.

"What? No, of course not. I mean, how could I?" Jaune sounded genuinely baffled. "You talk kind of fancy so that means you're really smart."

Gin didn't think the style of speech necessarily relates to intelligence, though.

"Not to mention that you're strong and can fight with a sword. And you even have cool superpowers!" Jaune exclaimed. "All of that WHILE being blind, You're amazing," The young and innocent boy beamed.

. . .

Did I say something wrong? Jaune thought with his grin waning as Gin just stood there with his mouth slightly open.

Then Gin's lips twitched into a slight smile with a light blush.

Gin quickly shook his head. "M-moving on," he coughed into his fist. "Another feature of Aura is a Semblance. A Semblance is a special ability, that can differ for each individual though some Semblances are hereditary. They can make the user fly, teleport, manipulate fire, etc. Semblances can evolve over time and people awaken them at random times or when they're in dangerous situations. However, some people can go their whole lives without awakening a Semblance, though I'm not sure why."

"Wow. So, they're like, like special superpowers?" Jaune was more than happy to change the subject and this sounded extremely exciting. "Do you have one?"

Gin planted his wooden katana on the ground and placed both hands on the hilt's bottom. "I do," he grinned and practically glowed with pride.

"Oh cool! What is it?"

"I'll demonstrate."

And then… something happened. Jaune didn't know how to properly describe it, it was like… a flash of black(?) came from Gin.

Said person had also disappeared.

"What the—"

"Behind you."

"Wah!" Jaune quickly turned around and jerked in surprise.

And there Gin stood with a smile, his wooden katana in his hand.

"You can teleport!? That's awesome!"

Gin laughed. "Not quite. My Semblance can paralyse minds."

"Hwhua?" Jaune said eloquently.

"Similar to the Aura Realm, a sonar-like wave spreads out from me and all those within its range enter a state of suspended sense of time. They become mentally frozen as if time has stopped for them," Gin explained with the enthusiasm of a kid showing off his most prized toy.

"Uh, oh okay."

"I'll show you an example. Do you see that bird over there?" Gin pointed to a bird moving on the ground.

Jaune nodded slightly.

Then he cringed. "Y-yeah," Jaune said out loud. "Wait, how did you know it was—"

Another flash of black(?) and Jaune felt a sharp pain in his head.

"Ow!" He rubbed his head with a hiss. Then turned and understood that Gin had smacked him on the head, "What was that for?!"

"A strong enough physical impact can negate the effects of my Semblance," He said quickly and almost incomprehensibly. "I can't manually remove its effects so I had to hit you. Follow me and be quick, it only lasts seventeen seconds. An awkward and annoying number, I know."

Gin ran towards the frozen birds and Jaune quickly followed. Gin picked up the bird and after a second of touching it, he gave it to Jaune.

"It's not moving, is it because of your Semblance," He asked while inspecting the bird, moving its various limbs. It felt stiff, its eyes weren't closed and he could see its chest slightly moving so Jaune guess that it wasn't sleeping or dead.

"Yes, I assume that my Semblance can work on any living being with a brain no matter how small. It has worked against flies and mosquitoes before." He smiled fondly, "It allowed me to easily squash the vermin." Truly, his Semblance was a blessing.

The bird suddenly became sentient and quickly flew away.

The two stared at the retreating bird for a moment before Gin spoke, "Also, my Semblance is called Blackout."

"Oh man, that is so cool..." Jaune hissed.

Gin laughed and smiled proudly, "Indeed, it is. Though the credit for its name belongs to my mother." He snorted, "if you didn't notice - among a couple of other things - the name also alludes to my blindness."

"Huh?" Jaune's eyes widened. "She said that?"

"Yes."

"But, isn't that like… insensitive?" Jaune awkwardly scratched his head.

Gin laughed, "Well you see, my mother was the one who taught me that I don't have to be ashamed of my blindness because it doesn't make me any less of a person. It is a part of me and she helped me embrace that. One of the ways she did it was by making me comfortable with my blindness by symbolising it in different ways and making light jokes about it while encouraging me to do the same. I can say with certainty that it worked." He grinned.

Jaune stared, a slight sparkle in his eyes.

"Also," Gin continued, "similar to what you said before, it makes my accomplishments - and I mean actual accomplishments, not something mundane like reading with Braille - even greater because I achieve them despite my handicap."

Jaune looked surprised but then he smiled brightly, "Yeah!"

It even made my victory against them even better as well, Gin thought with a grin.

"Oh, it appears we've gotten off track," said Gin. "Should we get started with the basics of the sword?"

"Yeah, sure." Jaune sighed a little, "I wish I had Aura..." he quietly mumbled that last part. While he still wanted to learn sword fighting, aura sounded much cooler but he wasn't going to say that out loud because it would be rude to Gin.

"You do technically have Aura," said Gin.

"Huh?!" Jaune's head turned so quickly it might have cracked if he went all the way.

"As I said, Aura is the manifestation of the soul. Every living being has a soul so they have Aura, they just haven't unlocked it."

"I— Wha— Can— Then—," Jaune had so many things he wanted to say but couldn't decide on what.

Eventually, Jaune decided to ask what he felt was most important. "How do I unlock my aura?" He uttered the words as if he wasa dehydrated man in a desert who finally found water.

Gin was taken aback by how eager Jaune sounded, "Uh well, the most common and easiest method is having someone with their aura already unlocked do it for you. The process is similar to the Aura Ripple which—"

"That means you can unlock my aura for me, right?"

"Well, yes."

"Please unlock my aura for me! Pretty please!"

"I uhh well… I'm not allowed to..."

The rules of his clan forbid it, after all. But…

"In ages past, Aura was a sacred power attainable only by the greatest warriors and martial artists," An old man with purple hair was talking to a class of children, most of which had purple hair. "They distinguished themselves from the rabble and have edged their names in history. Their sword and Aura techniques were passed on to their descendants through the years and their lineage is regarded with great respect even to this day, our own noble Sasaki clan is one of the best examples."

"However," he continued with a sneer, "Aura is now widely being used by the unworthy who call themselves Huntsman. They would rather rely on machinery instead of their skills and physical capabilities, yet they are hailed as heroes by the ignorant masses," He scoffed. "As children of the Sasaki clan, none of you are allowed to disclose any of our clan's techniques nor bestow Aura to any outsiders," the old man turned towards a certain blind boy with platinum hair. "Even the worst among you are worth more than the best commoner." He chuckled and some of the children took it as a cue to laugh.

"Sir," one purple-haired boy raised his hand. "With all due respect, please refrain from making such comments."

The old man looked annoyed but complied and spoke about other lessons.

Gin's face was perfectly neutral, the only sign of expression from him was his clenched fists that slightly shook.

"Please!" Jaune whined as he got on his knees and clasped his hands, all trace of his dignity lost in front of a chance to get superpowers. "I'm begging you!"

"... You have your parent's permission, correct?" Gin asked Jaune.

"Yeah!"

"Very well then," Gin sat down on his knees in a seiza. "Sit down in front of me with your back towards me."

Jaune obeyed enthusiastically and sat cross-legged on the grass. "Do I need to take my shirt off?"

"No." Gin then placed his hand on Jaune's back.

He took a breath as he remembered the words. "For it is in birth that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of skill and strength to stand above them all. Infinite in glory and might, I release your soul - and by my hand - bestow this blade upon thee."

Jaune felt chills down his spine.

Along with that came a feeling of something pouring into him. White energy burst out from inside his body and pushed the invading energy out of him. Then came a feeling of sheer power and vitality as Jaune gazed at his hand encased in shining white energy that looked like the surface of the water. I wonder if this is what drugs feel like.

"Wow..." Jaune's awe was palpable.

"Wow indeed," Gin released a breath as he got up and dusted his knees. "You have an impressive amount of aura. Your bloodline must have a long line of Aura users."

Jaune stood up but couldn't look away from the energy on his body, "I-I feel..."

"Strong," Gin finished. "I have no doubt you do. But you remember what I said about Aura, correct?"

"Uh aura makes me strong but it doesn't make me invincible?"

"Correct." Gin stretched his arms and swung his wooden katana a few times. "Since we've already spent a lot of time on theory, how about we get started on the practical part of this lesson?"

"Uh, okay."

"Right. Firstly, will your Aura to shield you."

"Alright."

From Gin's perspective, a white fire-like substance turned into a vague shape of a person. Though if one looked closer, the colour of Jaune's Aura was actually pale yellow.

"Good, you're doing it." Gin then suddenly hit Jaune on the hip with his sword.

"Ow!" Jaune backed away. "Why?" he whined.

"Without Aura, that would have left a bruise but with Aura, it only caused some damage and pain. Now I'm going to attack you again on the same spot, don't try to block it and instead focus your Aura on that spot.

Jaune hesitated but agreed, "Okay…"

Gin waited for a second, then he attacked the same spot again.

"Huh, it didn't hurt at all."

"Indeed. I'm sure you understand what that means, right?"

"Uh yeah." Jaune scratched his head, "Aura is like a force field that protects you but is better at it when you know an attack is coming and where it will land, right?"

Gin nodded, "Correct. And the more damage you take, the more Aura you lose. This will go on until your Aura breaks and you won't be able to use it as a shield anymore. Though you can still use Aura for other things until you're fully depleted of Aura. Also, it recovers pretty quickly if you do nothing with Aura."

"Hmm. Hey, you said that you can't get cut when your Aura is activated but is there a way for a sword to like, pass through Aura and cut the skin or something?"

"Well, yes but…"

Gin held a real odachi in his hands.

And blood was dripping from its steel edge.

He stood before a downed opponent, an older teen. The teen also held a steel odachi but he was clutching his side where his clothes turned red as tears fell from his eyes.

Onlookers panicked and screamed for the match to stop.

None of that seem to register with Gin, who just stood still with a victorious smile.

"Uh, but?" Jaune asked Gin who suddenly became silent again.

"... But, you don't have to worry about it. It usually never happens outside of very specific conditions."

"Oh, okay then…" Jaune trailed off.

"Well anyway, how about we have a spar?" Gin gestured towards his wooden katana.

"What? But I've never fought with swords before."

"It'll be alright," Gin reassured him. "This spar will mostly be to get you accustomed to Aura while I'll provide guidance as we go along, the same for your sword forms. I'll even use only one hand and hold back from any strong attacks. Since you have Aura now, you won't even have any lasting damage."

Jaune looked hesitant but he looked at his glowing hand and clenched it. He smiled "Okay."

Jaune took a stance and held the wooden katana with two hands as he saw in movies. He grinned, "Let's do this."

Jaune was slightly worried, but this was just a practice fight and Gin said he'll go easy on him.

So, how bad could it be?

/-/

"Argh..." Jaune was on the floor of his house's living room grunting in pain and exhaustion. He didn't dare sleep on the couch because he was covered in grass and dirt. Getting the furniture dirty was one way to get his mother's wrath.

"You look like you had fun," Juniper smiled at her son.

"Ugh… I'm in so much pain..."

Juniper laughed, "Your sisters are almost done so you can take a bath soon. Tell you what, I'll make you your favourite for dinner tonight."

"Yay..." Jaune weakly raised his arm in cheer.

A few hours later, Jaune and his sisters were done with their baths, Nicholas came home and the Arc family were having dinner.

Jaune yawned, he had been sleeping for an hour or two after his bath and only woke up for dinner.

"You had a busy day, Jaune?" Nicholas asked with a smile.

"Must have, he came home as dirty as a soccer ball," Hazel cut in. "I'd have said that Jaune was roughhousing if I didn't know my delicate baby bro better," She said with a cheeky smile.

Jaune just gave her a tired dirty look.

"So, how were your lessons with your Ninja friend," Jade asked with a teasing smile. "Did you learn how to disappear in a puff of smoke?" That got an amused chuckle from most of the family.

"No, we just did some sword training all day. He taught me how to do a proper stance and stuff." Jaune frowned a little, "But mostly, Gin just beat me around with his sword and told me how to block and attack in the middle of it. I could've sworn he was enjoying it too," he trailed off with narrowed eyes.

"Oh my, you didn't hurt each other too much, did you?" Juniper asked.

"Well, not really." Jaune sighed, "I didn't think becoming a ninja-samurai would be this hard and painful..."

Nicholas gave a small sigh. That was the tone Jaune usually used when he thought about giving up on something. It wasn't uncommon for Jaune to have a passing fancy for things whether it was about becoming a professional soccer player, a boxer or a musician. It was different from his own childhood where he had worked towards a single goal to become a great Huntsman to make his family proud.

Nicholas supposed that it didn't really matter, as long as Jaune didn't try to become a Huntsman and follow in his cursed footsteps, it's why Nicholas indulged Jaune in all his interests hoping he'd find his passion in one of them, he's done the same for all his daughters too so none of them tried to become Huntresses. He's also taken other measures and it's worked on his kids so far. But Nicholas could only hope that Jaune finds something he's dedicated to before he starts having thoughts about becoming a Huntsman.

Nicholas felt a bigger sigh coming so he picked up a glass of water to drink it away.

"But still, it was really exciting," Jaune continued with much more energy in his voice. "Gin has superpowers."

"Heh," Hazel snorted. "What's next, he helped you discover something within yourself?"

"Yeah! He helped me with unlocking my own superpowers." Jaune said with pride and a smug smile, "And it's called Aura." Jaune brought out his arm and clenched it into a fist as it glowed.

Nicholas spat his drink out.

Which unfortunately landed on Hazel, "Hey!"

Nicholas ignored his daughter's indignant cry, his eyes were locked onto Jaune's glowing hand.

Jaune must have sensed something was wrong because he slowly hid his arm behind his back.

That was the wrong move because the action brought Nicholas out of his trance causing him to yell, "WHAT THE HELL?!"

/-/

Jaune was sitting on a couch in the living room with his head down and his mother sitting on his side while his father was standing with his arms crossed and a frown.

"I can't believe this," said Nicholas roughly. "Didn't they teach their kid the Huntsmen Laws? How irresponsible can they be?"

"Nicky," Juniper spoke softly. "Maybe they didn't know. They came from Mistral after all."

"No, June. The Huntsman Laws are the same for all the Four Kingdoms. Even Mistral..." Then again, Nicholas knew about that place and… how lax its laws were, to say the least.

"I-I'm sorry..." said Jaune.

Nicholas let out a frustrated sigh, "It's not your fault Jaune, you didn't know so I'm not blaming you."

"What are you planning to do?" Juniper asked as she rubbed Jaune's head.

"I'm going to have words with the parents. There needs to be consequences for this and I'll—"

"It-It was my fault!" Jaune suddenly yelled. "I begged Gin to unlock my Aura for me and I kept on doing it even when Gin said he wasn't allowed to. He even asked me if I had my parents' permission to unlock my aura and I said yes. So he unlocked my Aura because of me."

. . .

"You intentionally took what we said last night as permission for everything, didn't you," Nicholas' tone made it obvious that it wasn't a question.

Jaune looked away and nodded, "Y-Yeah. It was my fault, so, please don't blame Gin or his parents, I don't want him to get in trouble…"

Nicholas and Juniper looked at each other for a moment.

Then Nicholas sighed.

"I understand what you're saying Jaune," He said slowly, "but there are laws in place that Huntsmen must abide by. Even if your friend isn't a Huntsman yet, his parents are responsible for teaching him what he should and shouldn't do with his abilities. Especially, as Huntsmen themselves."

"But, Gin said that he didn't have any Huntsman relatives," Jaune began. "When he told me that he wasn't a Samurai-Ninja, I asked how he knew all that stuff about sword fighting and Aura stuff and he told me he learned it from his relatives in Mistral. Gin looked kinda upset mentioning them so I stopped asking about them… So, instead, I asked if they were Huntsmen but he said no," He rambled.

"Hold on," Nicholas interrupted. "He said his parents aren't Huntsmen?" Jaune nodded. "Are they soldiers then?"

"Gin said that they were unemployed when I asked."

. . .

"What?"

/-/

After the confusing answers from Jaune, Nicholas decided to get some more concrete answers from the newest residents of Ansel.

He assured his son that nothing bad will happen and that he just wanted to talk to clear some things up. Nicholas had calmed down now and if what Jaune said was correct, then there may be more to this matter than simple negligence.

When Nicholas reached their house, he wasn't sure how the pair would react to the father of their son's friend knocking on their door. Most likely suspicion and nervousness. After all, a parent coming to meet them at night was a bad sign to anyone so Nicholas prepared himself for anything.

He was not prepared for the warm welcome he received.

"Really, there's no need for the tea." Nicholas sat across from Jin in the living room.

"Nonsense!" said Jin with cheer. "Mistrali take great pride in how we treat our guests after all. I would even prepare the tea myself were it not for my wife's rather possessive attitude towards the kitchen."

"Goodness," Karin came into the room with a tray containing 3 cups of tea. "I leave for a minute or two and you're already badmouthing me in front of a guest."

Jin laughed, "Sorry dear."

"Apology not accepted," Karin replied.

"Eh?"

Nicholas sipped the tea while the two bantered and he found it tasted pretty good.

Damn, the two seemed like nice people and his purpose for coming here wavered. However, he steeled himself and put the cup down.

"Mr and Mrs Suzume," Nicholas started. "I'm sure the two of you are wondering why I'm visiting so late at night." He had to get to the point before he wavered any further.

"Not really," Said Jin.

"The thought did cross my mind, I suppose," said Karin.

"Er..." Dammit, he wavered again. "… actually before that. I have to ask, are you a Huntsman Mr Suzume?"

"No, I'm not," Jin looked confused as he answered.

"I see..." Nicholas mumbled. "Then, do you have your aura unlocked?"

"Yes, I do."

"How?"

"All the men in my clan are required to have it unlocked and be well-versed in the sword."

"... What does your clan do? Are they warriors of some kind?"

"Indeed. My clan houses the blood of a long line of swordsmen from ages past." Jin said as if reciting words he heard a hundred times.

"... Did you used to live in a secluded village before coming here?"

"No, we lived in the City of Mistral."

Okay, now Nicholas was really confused, by what he'd just learned and how Jin was responding to him. He'd basically just interrogated the man yet Jin answered them all easily without any suspicions, though Nicholas could tell that the man's wife wasn't too pleased if her narrowed eyes were any indication.

"I'm sorry for basically interrogating you like this," Nicholas said. "I had to confirm some of my suspicions."

"It's no bother but is there a reason for it?" Jin asked with innocent curiosity.

"Well, I guess I should just get to the point." Nicholas inhaled and exhaled without making it look too visible. "Your son unlocked my kid's aura."

Though Nicholas' tone was neutral, it got a reaction from Jin. A grimace and a sigh.

"I see..."

"Can I assume you both know that it's illegal?"

"Huh?"

"What?!" Karin, who was quiet until then, suddenly exclaimed. "I-Illegal? I've never heard of such a law." Karin couldn't help but panic. She didn't want her family to be in prison!

"Well, It's a law for Huntsmen. And if… what your husband said about not being a Huntsman is true, then I guess it wouldn't apply to him."

"O-oh," She breathed a sigh of relief.

"So, you didn't know about it?"

"No, we didn't," Jin answered. "Though our clan did have rules against unlocking the aura of the common people."

"I wasn't expecting it to be an actual international law..." Karin complained.

"Are you both aware of why it's illegal?" Nicholas asked.

"No, we don't," Jin answered.

"Then why did your clan have rules against it?"

"Well, they tell us that it's because the common people are unworthy."

. . .

"Oh, for the love of…" Nicholas pinched the bridge of his nose.

He knew of Huntsman who would look down on civilians, most were just young and stupid. Then there were the elitists who came from prestigious old-fashioned families.

Nicholas had a personal experience with that kind.

He snorted, "I take it that you two wanted to get away from small-minded old people?"

The couple looked at each other for a moment. "Something like that," said Jin as Karin chuckled awkwardly.

"Anyway, to answer your question. There are many factors but the main one involves how Grimm hunts humanity through our emotions, particularly the negative ones, from the soul. When Aura gets unlocked, your soul becomes capable of manifesting on your skin. And numerous pieces of evidence suggest that this makes you more appealing to the Grimm, likely because your emotions become more visible, or because they're expelled from you by Aura. It's why Aura is an open secret, most aren't allowed to know about it but it can't really be kept hidden anymore with all the tech that we have nowadays."

A look of understanding passed both the married couple's eyes.

"I see… and now your son has that burden placed on him," said Jin.

Nicholas nodded.

Jin stood and bowed.

"My deepest apologies," He said. "I'll take full responsibility for my ineptitude."

"Please, don't," Nicholas said with a raised hand. "It's not your fault, at least not entirely. Some of the blame lies on me and mine."

Jin looked at the other man with a confused expression.

"Your son asked mine if he had my permission to let your son unlock his Aura and my son took advantage of my half-hearted words the other night as permission for everything."

"I see…"

Nicholas sighed, "Anyway, I was probably too hasty coming here at this hour. I came here… well, to demand recompense if I'm being honest."

"Buuut...?" Karin probed.

"But, after learning your circumstances, it would be wrong of me to ask for such a thing." Nicholas finished.

Karin released a breath in relief.

"Are you a huntsman Mr Arc?" Jin asked, having already sat down.

He nodded, "I am."

"Then, if I may impose on you. Could you tell me more about these laws on aura? To prevent an incident like this from happening again."

"A-Also," Karin spoke up softly, "since my husband and son have Aura, do they have to register for something? If so, would you mind helping us with this as well?"

"Of course not, I'll be happy to. It's the least I could do, after everything I've done tonight."

"You don't have to feel bad about anything," Jin smiled. "Regardless, you have our gratitude."

End of Chapter

I heard that Monty created Aura as an excuse for the cool shit his characters can do, meaning Aura can do almost anything for Rule of Cool. So, if that's true then I guess I'm following that spirit by also making Aura do shit that I think is cool, heh.

By the way, my writing style might be influenced by Chainsaw Man's Author, Fujimoto Tatsuki. Mainly in the "Show, Don't Tell" department. Because whenever I hear that phrase, I think of Fujimoto's works, especially Goodbye Eri which really inspired me. Of course, comics are different from written stories and I'll be sure to keep that in mind, especially since Fujimoto can do "Show, Don't tell" a bit too well sometimes for me lol.
