I do not own Dick Grayson or any other DC characters as they are the property of DC and Warner Bros.

Before you start reading I would like to point out that I have made a mistake with Dicks [Hamon] level and also kept his same title even when the story said he changed it, but all that is fixed in this chapter.

Ch 2 Small Steps

"Dick don't forget to eat your vegetables."

"Huh? Oh yeah ok." Dick replied to his mother as he continued eating his food.

He was now eating his diner with his family in their tent. He had just returned from his trip earlier that day. His parents were asking Dick questions about his trip and Dick answered a couple of them but he was having a hard time keeping up since his mind was elsewhere. Thinking back to when he was in the car with Talon.

Before

Silence filled the car as Talon said that one word.

"Special."

Dick tried to find a way out of this or all his planning will be for naught. So he decided to play dumb, hoping to see what made Talon think of him as special.

"Special?" Dick asked, with a curious expression, putting on a facade.

New Skill Gained

[Lying] (Lv.1) (Passive) [10.20]: The art of deceiving your others into believing what you say.

Hello opportunity.

"That's right Dick you are special, remember the times when they sparred and you would always get injured?

"Courtesy of you," Dick said to himself.

"I noticed that your injuries healed faster than normal, at first I thought nothing of it, thinking that they were simple injuries that could heal in a day, but then the injuries you received began to become more severe. Then one day you were stabbed in the leg during training and received medical treatment from our doctors, and when you began training you were fine. You applied pressure on your leg and you didn't even flinch." Talon explained.

Dick perfectly remembered that day, how cloud he forget when he almost blew his cover. He received a stab wound on his leg and the Courts doctors patched him up. Talon being the jacka $ he is, still made Dick train the next day. Knowing that his body heals every time he goes to bed, Dick limped on his leg, hoping to fool the Talon. But during training Talon was a bit different that day, he was more aggressive than usual, he was also taunting him. This pissed him off to the point where he didn't care about his cover and he went on the offense. He still lost but he put up a good fight. He later regretted it, thinking that Talon would have noticed him being able to move despite his injury, thankfully he didn't bring it up, thinking that Talon didn't notice it.

"Maybe it was due to the pressure from our spar, causing me to ignore the pain and carry on, also you do hit me every day, so it's no surprise that I might get used to it.

[Lying] has leveled up

"I love this ability." Dick thought to himself.

"True that is a possibility, but still the injury was not something a child like you could overcome so easily." Talon said.

"Well, I ain't like most children." Dick said.

"Hehe, that you Richard, that you are." Talon said.

Having said nothing else Dick closed his eyes, thanking God that he managed to convince Talon that he was just imagining things, but sadly that wasn't the case.

"Then why was your leg completely healed when I checked it myself."

…..

"Wh-what do you mean?" Dick asked. "I don't remember you checking my injury that time."

"That's 'cause you weren't aware," Talon answered.

Dick began to panic, was this it? Does he know? What will happen to his parents? What will happen to him?

But as soon as the fear entered him, it went away.

[Fear] Blocked by the Gamer's Mind

Calm once again, Dick began to collect himself. "Could you elaborate?" Dick asked.

"Certainly." Talon answered, "During our training, there was something I felt about you, something off."

"Is it the love you have for me as a teacher," Dick said jokingly.

"No, not that, something else, as if you were hiding from me," Talon said.

Dick looked back at the Talon, "And you got all this how?" Dick asked.

"Instinct," Talon said.

"Right," Dick said.

"So testing my theory, I began to become a bit more forceful during our spar and mocked you a couple of times, trying to get a reaction from you. Once you took the bait, you proved my instinct correct as you applied pressure on your injured leg, as if you never had an injury in the first place." Talon said, letting his words sink into Grayson for a moment before continuing.

"I didn't want you to think I was suspicious of your injury, so I pretended to ignore it, making you at ease, then during your sleep that night, I snuck into your room and carefully undid the bandages to not wake you up and imagine my surprise when I found out that your leg was completely healed, hell there wasn't even a scar," Talon said with a hint of excitement in his voice.

Dick opened his mouth, trying to think of a way out of this, but he couldn't find a way out of this. Talon knows of his ability, well part of it, but still, this could cause problems for him. So instead of playing the fool, he decided to get straight to the point.

"Alright, what happens now?" Dick asked.

"What happens now is well... nothing," Talon said.

Dick raised his eyebrow, still not convinced with Talon's answer. Here he is, The Gray Son of Gotham, a Meta-Human with the ability of self-regeneration, one of his many abilities they only know of but that's not important right now, without the need of Electrum and they're going to do nothing? Yeah, he's not buying it, unless….

"Did you not inform the Court?" Dick asked, hoping that this might be the case.

"Of course I informed them, this is something we have never encountered before," Talon said, destroying the hope Dick held.

Still, he was curious," So why aren't I in one of the Courts hidden labs and used for your organization's crazy experiments?"

Talon looked at Dick

"Well, Dick it's because this is something akin to uncharted territory for us"

Dick looked puzzled at the Talons response."But you guys have healing factors yourselves along with super strength and speed." Dick said.

"True, but that power was not something we were born with but given to us by the Court, however, your ability was something you were born with."

"Meaning you wouldn't know what would happen to me if I was given the same abilities as you since I'm a Meta-Human." Dick continued for Talon.

"Precisely Richard, but still that doesn't mean we won't try to figure out a way to combine your abilities with the Court's own," Talon said.

"Shi$" Dick cursed to himself, thinking that his ability would halt the Court into turning him into an undead, but sadly that would not be the case.

"So when will the Court take me to study my physiology," Dick said, getting straight to the point.

"Don't worry Richard, we won't take you right away, I've convinced the Court to give you time to see if there is more to your ability," Talon reassured Dick.

"And you know this because of your inst-"

"Instincts, yes." Talon continued for Dick.

"Sigh, great so how long do I have before you guys turn me into a zombie."

"Sigh, ok number 1 Richard, we aren't zombies we are Talons please get it right next time, you don't have to worry about the time frame since it won't be for a couple of more years so you can get to enjoy your freedom for now, and third you make it sound like this a bad thing, but it's not, it's a great honor that many people dream to have," Talon said.

"They need help," Dick whispered to himself as they continued driving.

….

"Hey, can I ask you something?" Dick asked Talon.

"Depends on the question," Talon said.

"What's your name?" Dick asked Talon, looking in his direction.

"We don't have a name, we gave up our names to be born once again as the Court's Talons."

"Before you became a Talon, you did have a name right?" Dick asked.

Talon stared at Dick for a few seconds before questioning him. "Why do you wish to know my name?"

"Come on, a guys gotta know his tourcherers name right?" Dick said jokingly, but Talon did not find it amusing as he continued staring at Dick.

Dick sighed before telling him the reason, "Well because we've been together for what, 3 years, and I never knew what your real name is?" He answered.

"Hm." Talon hummed as he turned his head back towards the road and continued driving.

Dick thought that Talon was considering telling him his name, but like all his expectations with Talon, it was shot down.

"As I said before, I have no name, I am only Talon." He answered.

Dick sighed and gave up asking questions about Talon. He wasn't asking him to get info he could use in his escape plan, he asked because he was simply curious. He continued staring at Talon trying to guess who he is, finding any clues about his appearance, despite knowing that it was a waste of time since the only people he actually knows about are his parents, Haly, Raymond, and a couple of the guys from the circus that aren't a lot since he can count them all in one hand.

As he kept on staring at Talon, observing him, a small screen popped up right in front of him.

Through your keen observation, a new skill has been gained

[Observe] (Lv.1) (Active) [03.33]: Provides information on an object or a person.

"Huh well, what do you know." Dick thought as he looked through his new skill.

He then turned his attention to the Talon, which seems to catch his attention.

"Is something the matter?" Talon asked.

"No just observing."

And just like that, a screen appeared displaying all of Talon's information.

"He...he..hehe..he haha HAHAHA!" Dick laughed hysterically, ignoring the level ups he was receiving.

His laughter caught the Talon, who we now know as William Cobb, Dicks great grandfather, off guard.

"What seems to be funny Richard?" Talon asked Dick curiously.

Dick looked back at William, chuckling a few times before replying." It's just, heh, it's just that I realized how fuc*#d up the world can be." Dick replied, still laughing.

"...I see, at least you know that now," Talon said, still unsure as to what has just occurred.

As Dicks laughter died down, he was going to process the information with his escape plan.

Keyword "was".

"And now since I know you have a healing factor then I know you can heal from this," Talon said.

"Huh- " Dick couldn't finish his sentence as Talon grabbed his head and slammed it onto the dashboard, knocking him out.

Present

Dick woke up in his bedroom and is now eating dinner with his parents. When he left his room, he saw his parents were setting up for dinner, they just said welcome back and dinners ready. He was going to ask them how did he end up in his room but decided against it since the answer was pretty obvious. As he continued eating, Dick couldn't help but wonder about a certain assassin.

Talon, his "great grandfather".

Never thought that he would hear Talon and great grandfather in a sentence together, despite the guy being over a thousand years old. No wonder the Court was obsessed with him, they wanted a powerful Talon, just like Cobb.

Yet, he was related to that...monster, and no one ever told him about it.

He would understand if Talon or the Court didn't want to tell him anything since they like to keep everything a secret. Hell, there was this one time when another Talon came to deliver a message to Wiliam while Dick was having a small break from their lovely spar, he couldn't hear what they were saying, but once the conversation was done, William looked at his left and right as if someone was watching, then got closer to the other Talon only to pat him in the shoulder! I know, but it's a true story! Talk about next level paranoid sheesh.

But the circus did they know, Haly or what, his own parents? Was there a reason as to why they didn't tell him something that important? Did they what to spare him the pain of knowing that his great grandfather, one of the few remaining of his family, was an undead assassin that killed hundreds of people, or-

….

Or they didn't know. I mean the guy is a thousands year old assassin that works for an organization that likes to keep a lot of secrets so it would make sense if everyone who knew of this information died of old age or well you know "died in some unfortunate accident". Yet the thought that his parents knew of this still bugged him, so to ease him of this problem he decided to ask them.

"Hey mom, dad, do we have any other family members for either side?" Dick asked.

Both his parents stopped eating and stared at Dick. "Why do you ask dear?" His mother asked.

"No reason, just curious," Dick asked.

His father rubbed his head, unsure of what to make of this conversation. "Well, there is your uncle Richard, who's in the hospital right now and then there is your aunt, Karla, and that's about it." His father answered him.

Dick nodded his head after hearing what his father told him. "Do we have other relatives?" Dick asked.

His parents looked at each other then back at Dick before his mother answered him. "Sadly no dear, we don't have any other relatives that are with us right now." His mother said.

"In other words dead." Dick summarised. And from the way they spoke they don't know or have any idea about it. That leaves Haly and the circus, but right now he doubts they know anything just like his parents. Still Despite being disturbed at the fact that he was related to William, what disturbed him, even more, was the assassin's stats. He was a monster. There was no way in hell Dick could take him on. All these training lessons he had with Talon, he knew he wasn't using his full strength, but this, I mean come on!? Even if he levels up his skills in 3 years, he still doubts he would take on Talon. Although he might have a chance if he uses Talon's weakness. Thanks to his [observe] skill he now knows how to beat Talon and possibly the whole Court in one move.

Electrum.

Yes, he knows about the cold, but he doubts he could trap all the Talons in one room and freeze them with nitrogen. If only Talons had wine tasting every Tuesday, then that plan could have worked. Wait, do Talons drink? Ah, he will think about it later.

But what he can do is use the Electrum. Like it said electrum dependency, meaning he would need to use Electrum on himself from time to time, just like any other Talon. It would be best if he didn't destroy their Electrum since they could just get more of it since they supplied it to thousands of their Talons, but if he added something to it, be it poison or something else that could affect Electrum, then that would take care of the Talons and that would only leave the rich, wealthy families who are all just normal humans.

Weak and pathetic humans.

But there are a few issues with his plan, the first thing is where he could find the Court's stash of Electrum. He knows for a fact that it's in Gotham since Talon likes to brag at how and Dick quotes "Gotham made the Talons as an antivirus to fight the disease." He understood from the sentence that the Talons were all made in Gotham, but where. Then there is the second part of the plan which is the most vital part. What is Electrum, he knows that they need it but he doesn't know what it is. Is some kind of drug, serum, or something else. If only he could his stupid plan of getting the Talons in one place could work.

If only.

Wait.

Wait, wait, wait, wait.

Maybe it could work, they are dependent on Electrum, meaning they would need to go to someplace to get more of it, and since he knows their main base is in Gotham, all he would have to do is switch the Electrum with nitrogen and hopefully, that would stop them, if not then most of them.

But he would need to act fast and find out where their base is and what this Electrum is, not to mention he would need to train like hell to level up his skills so he could at least be on even grounds with a talon. With that in mind, Dick finished his dinner and decided to head to town.

"Hey mom, dad, I'm going out for a while," Dick said to them.

"Alright dear, be back before 10." His mother told him.

"Will do," Dick said as he changed his clothes and left the tent.

As he was walking towards the entrance of Haly's circus, someone called out to him.

"Hey, Dick!"

Dick turned to whoever called out to him. It was Raya Vestri, his childhood friend and one of the few people he trusts.

"Hey, Raya you need something?" Dick asked her.

"Heard you and Raymond got in trouble with the police." Raya said with a smirk on her face.

"Eh, I wouldn't call it trouble, it was more of a-

"You guys were jumping on moving trains in Gotham's train station and almost got the guard and yourself killed, did I miss anything?" Raya said.

"That was Raymonds fault, matter of fact, where is that sob?" Dick said.

Raya laughed at Dicks response and held his shoulder." Relax boy wonder, I know it was Raymond's fault, but sadly the reason as to why our friend can't be with us right now cause he's grounded for life." Raya said.

Dick winced, as he remembered not too long ago his mother grounded him as well, but with all the Courts training and the travel to the Bahamas, she forgave him, thinking that at least she could give him a break, even if it was a small amount.

" Weren't you also punished, not too long ago? Raya asked Dick, tilting her head.

"Yeah, but unlike Raymond, I have escaped such a tragic demise." Dick.

"And pray tell how?" Raya asked Dick.

"With charm my dear Raya," Dick said as he put his arms behind his head and one leg forward, doing a pose.

"HAHAHAHAH! My god Dick, I swear there is no one weirder than you." Raya said holding her belly from the laughter she had.

Dick smirked at the laughing Raya, before replying," Yeah, yeah laugh it up, but I'll have you know these poses are so elegant that it could make any model gasp with amazement."

"Then there definitely not right in the head." Raya said, causing Dick to scream, "Oi!"

"Anyways~," Raya said, arms behind her back, leaning forward. "Whatcha doing?" She asked.

"Not much, just heading to town for a while." Dick said.

"What me to...keep you company?" Raya said with a small blush.

Dick frowned knowing what Raya intends, but sadly he doesn't share the same feeling she has towards him, with so much going on, he has no time for love. And besides, he was planning on leaving the circus with his parents leaving her, Raymond, and everyone else behind. He felt like he was betraying her, but this was the only way to save his parents and himself from the Court, she would have probably done the same thing if she was in his shoes, but thinking that over and over again doesn't make him feel better.

And not only that, she or Raymond don't know about the Courts involvement with the circus, so he would like to keep it that way, give them a normal childhood. And to do that he would have to have to keep the Court and his powers a secret from them.

"Sorry Raya, I was just heading to the pharmacy to get medicine for my mom's headache and I don't want to bore you with the trip," Dick said, lying to Raya.

"Oh...I see." Raya replied with a frown. "Sorry to bother you then, I hope your mother gets well," Raya said, still sad about Dicks reply.

Feeling a bit guilty, Dick decided to cheer her up a bit." Hey When Raymond gets out of grounding, how about the three of us hang like we used to, eh?"

Raya's eyes lit with hope and her smile returned once again.

"Ok sounds like a great idea!" She said with joy.

"Then it's a deal, anyways I don't want to keep my mom waiting so I gotta go later." After saying their goodbyes, Dick left to his destination.

Thankfully Dick can relax for a bit since no Talons are keeping a watch on him in the city. Since they already have his parents hostage, they would kill them in an instant if he were to escape is what his dear old great grandpa told him during one of their sessions, seriously the guy like threatens him every session they have. He also said that this would provide a great opportunity for social training. The Court wanted Dick to understand the modern times, learn to know the top news and gossip, to use as a weapon to lure people by showing interest in them so that once they get close to him, he could take them out.

Basically, they wanted him to become a hitman, while still being a Talon. It was unorthodox training for a Talon, but he is the Grey Son, so they wanted him to be the best there is in everything. But it's not all that bad, besides getting a breather from the Court, he uses this opportunity to train his skills without any eyes watching him. For instance, his Hamon, one of his skills he rarely trains in the circus, so instead uses some of Gotham's old warehouses or abandoned buildings to train.

[Hamon] (Lv.19) (Active) [78.03]: Spreads energy called Hamon, used in the form of martial arts, Sendo, throughout the user's whole body.

Increases all empty-handed melee attacks by 25%.

x2 damage to all beings related to all beings of the dark.

Cost: 100 WP

It's not much but it's the best he could do and with the XP he got from killing the Yeti, he can get it to level up with a couple of hours of training. But today he has something else in mind. Dick came to a stop in front of GameStop, a video game store. He entered the store and greeted the employee there.

"Hey, Delson how's it going." Dick greeted.

"Oh hey, Dick hasn't seen you in a while." The employee now known as Delson greeted Dick.

Delson was just an average 21-year-old guy who works in GameStop for some extra cash.

All in all, he's a good guy.

"Just been busy these past days." Dick answered Delson as he made his way towards a gaming console that was on display.

"You gonna buy a game this time?"

"I would but I have something called being poor!" Dick said to Delson.

Delson raised his hands in surrender and chuckled a bit. "Alright man, just wanting to let you know that you can buy them and play them in the comfort of your home instead of playing them in store."

"Sigh, Delson man, how many times do I get to tell you that I'm poor," Dick said, a bit annoyed.

"I can give you a discount." Delson said, hoping to get Dicks attention.

"Sorry man, don't have a t.v." Dick said, turning down Delson's offer.

"Do you know how annoying it is to have a regular customer who doesn't buy anything and just wastes the store's electricity?"

"You do know that you guys leave the console open the whole time right?" Dick said.

Delson opened his mouth to say something but stopped when he realized it was futile. Dick smiled at Deslons's reaction and focused on the console. He started the game and began playing it for a couple of minutes. It was a third person shooter game and Dick was fully focused. The reason he's playing right now is to learn more about his powers since his power is similar to a video game, why not learn what he can do from video games, and what better place to try it other than GameStop. He found out about this place after roaming around in Gotham for a while and noticed kids playing video games. He noticed how much these video games resembled his ability, so from then on he came in a few times afterward to try and see if there was anything he could learn from there, and Delson being the kind and generous man didn't mind Dick and helped him with anything he needed with. He probably kept him, because of the company and who can say no to his face.

But as Dick kept on playing, he felt that the game was beginning to become irrelevant. The things he learned from the game were things he already knew such as inspecting objects or injury huds. So what does Dick need to learn? His mind drifted back to the skills he received in the mountains, he knew what he needed.

"Hey Delson, do you have any games related to magic?" Dick asked.

Delson looked up from his phone at Dicks question. "Hm, yeah, we got plenty of those, which one do you want?"

"I don't know, surprise me." Dick said.

"Got ya." Delson left the counter and walked to one of the many drawer shelves there. He opened one with his keys and skimmed through game covers, after a couple of seconds he then pulled one out.

"Ah, there it is." Delson said as he made his way to Dick, handing him the game.

"What's this?" Dick asked as he inspected the game with mild curiosity.

"This game is called Skyrim, one of the oldest yet popular games in game history, trust me, wherever I have free time, I play it. Delson said, smiling. He really cares about this game.

Dick took the disc from the cover and put it in the console, he watched as the game intro began and he was hooked, Delson wasn't kidding, the intro alone got his attention. After finishing creating his character and finishing the tutorial, he began playing and he was surprised to see how similar his powers were to that of the game. When his character picked up a magic book he could immediately learn the skill, honestly, it was so similar that it frightened him a bit. Though after a while of messing around, Dick had a small issue with the game.

"Hey, Delson, how do I get a bigger backpack for my things?" Dick asked.

"Backpack? Oh you mean your inventory, just level up your stamina for now, since you just started the game." Delson answered.

Dick turned to Delson with a confused look plastered on his face.

"Inventory, what's that? Dick asked.

"It's a feature in many RPG games where you can store your items in them, basically your own pocket dimension." Delson answered Dick.

"Pocket dimension huh?" Dick murmurs to himself.

After a couple of hours, Dick left and bid farewell to Delson. On his way home, Dick thought about what Delson said.

Dick noticed that he was near an alleyway, which was empty and devoid of people.

A perfect place to avoid the eyes of the public prying eyes. Dick entered the ally and once he was deep inside he tested his theory.

"[Inventory]"

A screen but instead of displaying information, it displayed an image of his body divided into squares, with clothes that he is currently wearing. Next to it were several small squares that seemed to go on forever. Ok so just like the game, he has his own pocket dimension.

Seriously what can't he do?

But how does he use it, that is the question. While thinking, Dick saw a small switchblade near a dumpster, Dick picked it up and inspected it.

"[Observe]"

Rusty Switchblade [Durability (17/30)]

A type of knife that can be ejected by a button or a lever and often used as a weapon for stabbing or slashing.

Melee Damage Increase: 7-10

It doesn't take a genius to know that this is a used weapon judging by the dry blood on it. The perp dumped away after the deed, but there plenty of cases like this, especially here in Gotham. Ok now that he has an item, how does he put it in his inventory? Does he have to think hard enough for it to go inside or does he touch the weapon and tap one of the boxes. After minutes of experimenting, Dick pushed the knife into the inventory screen and watched as the switchblade disappeared from his hand and appeared in his inventory. He then took out the switchblade and it appeared on his hand once again.

"This is just wow." Dick couldn't help but smile at what he was able to do. His own pocket dimension, he still can't believe it, but he has one, oh these owls won't know what hit them.

For testing your hypotheses on your ability and succeeding by using video games you gain +5 points in INT.

"This is new." Dick said as he stared at the screen. His ability never gave him points for simple things like that, maybe it's because he's slowly starting to understand more about his ability. Either way, he will take whatever it has to offer if it could help him increase his power.

{Power Quest Unlocked}

I Am Not Your Tool

Objective: Reach level 20 with all status at 50 or beyond.

Time Limit: Before you get taken by the Court of Owls (2 years)

Reward: 1 skill book.

Yes/No

Okay, when he said he would take anything he had to offer he didn't expect this, but he did say that soo, alright game on, although 1 skill book for all this doesn't sound thrilling, but getting skill books is a rare resource so yes it is.

He noticed that it was getting late and not wanting to get on his mother's bad side he decided it was time to head home. On the way Dick began thinking about how to escape Talon's eyes since he now knows about his healing ability, meaning he would have to find another place in the circus to use his powers besides his room. Dick kept thinking about this issue during his trip home, but when he got close his train of thought was interrupted as he heard shouting coming off from Halys trailer.

"LIKE I TOLD YOU BEFORE DIPSHITS, AIN'T GIVING YOU MONEY NOW LEAVE OR I'LL CALL THE POLICE!"

"DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU, YOU FAT PIECE OF SHIT!"

"GET OUT! GET OUT!"

The door of the trailer opened and revealed a man with a rather good looking suit leaving with a scowl.

He then looked at Dick and he began to smirk.

Like a child in a candy store.

"Hey I know you, you're the flying Grayson brat, the best performers of Haly's circus." The man stated.

Dick immediately walked past the man stating," Sorry you must have me confused me for someone else." Cause he knows this man is trouble and trouble does not mix well in Gotham.

"Hey." The man said, grabbing Dick firmly by the shoulder. "I don't care whose kid you are, you show respect to your elders, you got that you little shit."

"I TOLD YOU TO GET OUT ASSHOLE OR I SWEAR TO GOD I'LL CALL THE COPS ON YOUR DUMBASS!" Haly shouted from the door of his trailer.

"Tch." The man let go of Dicks shoulder and gave a nasty glare to Haley. "I'll be back to see if you changed your mind by then." The stranger said walking away. Dick knew the next time that man would come, there would be more trouble than some quarrel. With the Court and them knowing about his ability to heal, Dick doesn't need a 3rd element to his problem. Maybe he should 'take care of him' before that happens. Easing his issues a bit. But before Dick was going to use his observe skill on the man, his focus was cut short as Haly checked on him.

"Did he hurt you son?" haly asked Dick, with concern on his face.

"I'm fine, nothing happened." Dick looked back in the same direction the stranger was going, sadly he was gone, meaning he couldn't check who he was and what was his game. Although…

"Haly what's that guys deal with you?"

Haly frowned. "Nothing, just a guy trying to pull a scare on me is all."

Dick nodded at Halys words but knew there was more to it than just a small scare.

"What was his name?"

"You don't need to know who he is, all you need to know is that you stay away from him." Haly responded immediately.

"Do you want me to take care of him?" Dick said, getting straight to the point.

"Dick! No...I...my god, Dick no, you're still a kid, you shouldn't even be thinking things like that." Haly said, getting on his level, putting both hands on his shoulders.

"No matter what these bast do to you son, always remember that no matter what, every life is precious, even if they're like that man from earlier."

Dick listened to Halys words but knew it was useless, if he was to go against the Court, there was no way he would spare any of them, he would take them out immediately if the chance arises. But for now, Dick would smile at Halys words and nodded dumbly, to ease the man a bit.

Haly smiled, ruffling my hair, then stood up. "Alright kiddo, I think it's time you head home, your parents must be worried by now." Halys then bid Dick a good night and entered his trailer closing the door behind him.

For deceiving the man who knew you your whole life you gain +3 points in CHA.

[Lying] has leveled up

Dick eye couldn't help but twitch at the pop up, sure he loved his ability but sometimes it can be a complete #$. Dick shook his head before walking towards the tent he would use for his training with Talon. Sure he could visit his parents first and confront them with the knowledge that he was ok, but has 2 years to make up for it. Right now though.

Dick needed strength.

Power.

Much more power.

And sadly the only way he could reach that stage and complete the power quest is to spend more quality time with dear old grandpa.

Even though he's a complete jacka$$.

Dick entered the tent and wasn't surprised to see William, who was currently giving his sword some TLC.

"You're early." William said, a bit surprised.

"You have an hour before our session starts."

"Shut up and fight me."

"Excuse me." Forget surprises, William was nonplussed by Dicks action.

"You said I was the court's Gray Son, forged to become the best Talon there is."

"Where is this coming from Grayson?" William asked.

Dick ignored Williams' questions and continued.

"So then make me, turn me into the Court's ultimate weapon, a Talon worthy of the name Gray Son of Gotham."

"So no more pulling punches, fight me like you want to kill me."

William remained silent after listening to what Dick had said, he then threw a sword towards Dick, which he caught, and took out his own sword and pointed it at Dick.

"Very well, I won't beat the crap out of you until you're unconscious, I will beat you until your dead, that is if you can keep up."

Dick got into a fighting stance, preparing himself for the fight of his life.

He had to remember who he was doing this for, why he was doing it.

Dick closed his eyes, took a deep breath.

He opened his eyes.

And charged forward.
