Hello one and all to a new chapter of Pokemon SVTA where today, Nemona will have her first (non-friendly) major battle against the Champion representative of Uva, Carmine who wishes to drive out Ash (who's busy at a nearby photoshoot) out of the Paldea region but for what reasons are unknown. Carmine will be the main rival of both Nemona and Ash (though one-sided for her for reasons you'll see) who only believes the will of Paldea's own 'strongest' but other reasons are currently unknown, and she and her brother Kieran will have a connection to a special character from the previous chapter.
I should note that Carmine's and Kieran's personalities are different compared to the final game due to them just being revealed almost two months ago and so their roles in this story will be way different compared to the final product. We will also have the introduction of two new original teachers named Cycas and Biscus.
*Cycas (who was mentioned in the previous chapter) is a Theater/Battle instructor from the Unova region who teaches students about the art of theater and dance but she's also a rival battle instructor to Dendra who focuses on the basics of battling while Cycas focuses on the art and uniqueness of battles. What that means is that in their battles, she focuses on the unique combination of moves and strategies used in a battle in order to win which could mean like Ash's Countershield, Ash's Buizel's Ice Aqua Jet or Geeta's slow and steady strategy with her Kingambit.
She's a former coordinator and is a huge fan of combination battles and unique strategies and she'll often appear at a tournament containing these combination battles. She's dating a famous model named Yucca and is both childhood friends and rivals with Dendra and childhood friends with Miriam (Dendra's lover) and Yucca (her lover). Her ace is Quaquaval. If I were to give her a friendship story, her story would be underneath her cheerfulness, she is lonely due to Yuuca traveling often and wants to work up courage to propose to Tulip though it's my sort of story so it could change any time.
I figured that with me bringing back a certain Pokemon of Ash's and the idea of combinations and uniqueness, I thought that I might aas well bring one back although this surprise Pokemon won't battle in this chapter, but they'll battle in the chapter. I also figure the theme of the episode is Nemona trying to find her own style of battling rather than copying others.
*Biscus is a social studies/geography teacher who teaches students about the geography of the world, he likes to hike in his spare time and has a wife and 4 kids 2 of which are college aged. He's from the Sinnoh region and fell in love with Paldea's unique landscape, his ace is Torterra. I haven't thought about a friendship story for him.
One other note I should mention is once again, it's not a romance story, the 'romantic' moments between Ash his friends are just done for comedic effect and they're just 'friends' so could you politely stop asking that and I'll keep repeating what I said before. I do want Ash to bring back his older mons but please understand, I'm trying to find a good moment in the story to bring them back but I also want to flesh out the newer cast of mons but I do have planned an episode where a Nymble wants to be like its hero a man and his Hawlucha and so Ash helps Nymble by bringing over his own Hawlucha to help not only Nymble but also teach Ash's newer mons his ways through his journey through past regions.
Hawlucha will stay for the next couple of episodes where Ash shows his new mons his older mons battle style and will help Ash during his battle with the first Team Star battle before going back to Oak's afterwards. I will however just for you bring back mon for you today relating to the new teacher's style of class but afterwards, please be 'patient' so I can focus on the newer mons and much like with the romance one, I'll keep repeating this statement. With that long intro out of the way, let's get started.
It was another beautiful day in Paldea where everyone got ready to go to school, sleep in or do something else that eases the stress of oncoming tests, it's also the week where the Treasure Hunt begins, and everyone is preparing to go on their adventure soon enough. Ash is seen getting up on a beautiful Monday morning with Pikachu, Quaxly, and Cyclizar up and ready to go.
"Morning everyone, sleep good?" Ash asked his Pokemon who cheered their names happily as Ash got up to put his slippers on, "Alright let's get you some breakfast going and then we can get to class on time." Ash said as he goes to grab a bag of Pokemon food and dumps it each to their bowls before Ash decides to heat up a Breakfast bowl in the microwave and wait. Ash looks to his team and smiles, I think it's time to catch a new Pokemon soon enough, but I wonder where? Ash thought to himself as a knock on the door was heard.
"Coming!" Ash said going to the door, he opens it to reveal Arven and Sneasel pushing a rather large person-sized box on a cart, "Special delivery for Ash Ketchum!" Arven said as Ash lets them through and both of them take a breath. "I didn't order anything, is it a gift?" Ash asks curious about the box, "Kind of, it's a gift from Mr. Clavell. He was supposed to give it to you himself, but he had a last-minute meeting with La Primera, so he asked me to give this to you." Arven replied setting the box down near a corner and opening it. The box was opened to reveal PC machine made for calls and transfer Pokemon which seems to surprise Ash.
"A-a PC machine?" Ash said surprised to which Arven nods and replies, "Yep, it's a gift from the Champion's association for your win as World Champion. Only professors like my parents, politicians, Centers, police stations and champions usually get this and since you're a champion, you get one of these at least from what Clavell told me."
The duo then proceeded to plug the machine in which opened up a slot where you could put your phone or dex in and Ash proceeded to grab his phone to place the phone in while Arven and Morada rest on the floor huffing.
"Say Ash, this is your first Monday, isn't it?" Arven asks out of breath to which Ash nods, "Then today's your first day of Geography with Mr. Biscus and Battle training/theater with Ms. Cycus and Cycus is a huge fan of your battle strategies especially during the Sinnoh tournament." Arven continued which made Ash think for a moment.
My battle strategies? Ash thought to himself until he remembered back in Sinnoh where he used a technique called Countershield where his Pikachu and Buizel used their bodies to spin to deflect and attack as well as Buizel's Ice Aqua Jet and Ash starts to look back fondly at those moves.
"Ah those were the days; I should really do more with those moves." Ash said happily as he placed his Dexphone into the machine and started to glow up with various contacts such as professors and friends, his Pokemon information as well as Dex information about Pokemon he encountered on his journeys.
"Registered Ash Ketchum as owner of PC Machine 9619, I'm pleased to work with you Ash Ketchum." The machine said as the screen turns into a generic computer screen, "Well, if you got your information all set up, I'll get going." Arven said but Ash stops him for a moment. "Actually, could I see your Sneasel real quick? Professor Oak studies all types of Pokemon so he'll be very surprised about a form that hasn't been seen in forever." Ash asks.
"I've heard of him; my parents talk to him in different meetings about all sorts of things so, why not." Arven said as Ash pressed on Professor Oak's number which causes the screen to display a phone until the screen changes once more to an energetic smiling Oak alongside Ash's Buizel, Muk, Gliscor and Oshawott (who was on Gliscor's shoulder) go to the screen with happiness in their eyes to see their trainer.
"Oh, hello my boy, have your school pictures arrived, Delia is very anxious about them?" Oak said happily as he waved back, "Hi Oak, they'll be in the mail soon and hi guys how are you?" Ash said happily as his Pokemon cheered their names happily.
"I'm just seeing if this PC machine worked." Ash said which gets Oak interested, "A PC machine? You must've got one as a gift I presume?" Oak said which causes the young champion to nod. "Yep." Ash said which gets a nod out of Oak.
"Good to hear. How are your Pokemon doing?" Oak asks the young lad who picks up Pikachu and his Cyclizar and Quaxly (on Cyclizar's head) go to the PC screen and Oak nods once more, "They're doing good. Actually, I came to show you something." "Oh, what is it my boy?" Oak said curious as Ash picks up Morada the Hisuian Sneasel which causes Oak to gasp with shock and Ash's Pokemon (Back home) to fall in love and have hearts in their eyes, but Sneasel looked away causing them to be disappointed.
"That's- That's a Hisuian Sneasel, those Pokemon disappeared for over 60 years. Ash, did you catch that Sneasel?" Oak said flabbergasted but Ash shook his head, "Nope, Arven here did." Ash said causing Arven to blush. "Arven? I've heard of you; your parents talked a lot about you when you were a baby." Oak said remembering Arven who cringed.
I am going to destroy every last baby photo. Arven thought to himself, "Yeah, guilty as charged and Professor Jacq registered the Hisuian forms to everyone's dex so now they'll have that type of information." Arven informed Oak who was all happy all of a sudden.
"It will be one shocking meeting with the other Professors." Oak said before he gets a hold of himself, "Before you go Ash, I have a request for you." Oak said which gets Ash's attention.
"Your Pokemon have been eager to explore and battle and so I have a suggestion on your Paldean journey, maybe take one or two of them with you so they can explore with you and battle once more. Your Pokemon have been training a lot since you were gone, and I figured you might want to use one again." Oak asks the young champion who thinks for a moment.
He is right, I've been focused on just my adventures that I never even used my old Pokemon for a while. Maybe this, occasionally on my journey, I bring over an old mon so they can get some experience and new strategies and they can hang out with me, Pikachu and my newer mons. Yeah, that's what I'll do. Ash thought to himself as he nodded.
"I think I can agree to that, and I know who I want to bring back."
We switch to a room full of test dummies and a young woman whose hair was in a ponytail and was as white as clouds but as smooth as butter alongside her Quaquaval, we see Ash (with his Pikachu), Nemona (with her Pawmi), Arven (with his Sneasel), Verde with her aide (with her aide Lycanroc and her Haxorus) and Sarah (with her Banette). Teddiursa can also be seen behind a nearby bleacher.
"Good morning class, as you know, we didn't have class Monday due to teacher day and Wednesday I was sick so I'm sure you enjoyed your free periods but now that I'm back, we'll get started learning about move strategies and combinations and I see we have an expert when it comes to move strategies." The woman says referring to Ash as Ash begins looking around to see who that trainer is as the woman goes to Ash.
"The name's Cycas and I'll be your theater teacher on Wednesdays, and I'll be your Unique battle instructor on Mondays." Cycas said shaking Ash's hand, but he also looks on in confusion, "Don't we have a battle instructor?" Ash asks to which Cycas nods, "We do, Dendra is my eternal rival but whereas she covers the basic lessons of battles, I cover the uniqueness of Pokemon battling by teaching students how to creatively utilize different moves and abilities to their advantage in battle and help students and Pokemon get closer together by learning each other's strategies." Cycas continued which gets Ash interested.
Nemona then turns to Ash, "You used this strategy before, right? Back during the Sinnoh tournament." Nemona told Ash as he remembers two moves that he used during his journey through Sinnoh, those being: The Counter shield (a technique used for both offensive and defensive purposes revolving around the user spinning their body around using a move like Thunderbolt, Flamethrower or Water gun to accomplish the task) and Ice Aqua Jet (An Aqua Jet combined with an Ice move to create a fast and hard hitting attack at the same time).
"Oh yeah." Ash said remembering the move and Cycas smiles, "Would you like to demonstrate to the class those moves as it will help demonstrate what I'm aiming for with this class?" Cycas asks to which Ash got excited and agreed as he grabbed his Pokeball. "It's good thing I brought you along right buddy?" Ash says throwing his Pokeball in the air to reveal his Buizel which astounds the audience.
"I never thought he would bring back an older mon."
"Maybe he decided to give them a chance?"
Buizel and Pikachu smirked and were ready, "Buizel use Ice Aqua Jet!" Ash said as Buizel covered itself in a watery veil and launched itself towards a dummy, Buizel's jet of water started to freeze up due to Buizel's Ice Punch turning the entire stream frozen and launched into the dummy, this causes the ice to break apart and the dummy to be sent back impressing the group.
"Pikachu, your turn let's see this dummy move." Ash said as he and Pikachu smirked as Cycas pressed a button that made the dummy move as it headed towards Pikachu, "Time for the Counter shield!" Ash said as Pikachu got on his back and started to spin as Pikachu released a heavy swirl of electricity as a sort of barrier to push back the dummy who couldn't do anything as it was pushed back and Cycas pressed the button to end the dummy's functions and Pikachu stopped spinning impressing the group especially Nemona and her Pawmi.
"And that folks was my moves." Ash said as the group (sans Verde due to her blindness) clapped, "He's right, that's what I want to see out of all you today, I want you to try your own combinations and techniques that are unique and could be useful for battle. They don't have to be flashy but be creative. I should note that there will be a tournament in Valencia soon using those combinations and unique techniques, you get points for doing so but don't use to much of those techniques, you'll lose points for repeated moves, but it is fun for your Treasure Hunt." Cycas informed the group as Ash starts to think to himself over the tournament.
A tournament involving the use of combination moves and unique techniques, maybe there's a chance for Serena, May or Dawn to show up to the tournament and hopefully talk to them again especially with Serena unlike last time. Thanks Wallace. Ash thought to himself thinking of the former Hoenn champion.
The group then splits up to do their own thing with their combinations with Ash, Pikachu and Buizel trying a new technique from their Counter shield but with a twist, Arven tries out a combination of Energy Ball and Metal Claw where Sneasel absorbs the Energy from Energy Ball and combining it with her claws. She creates an attack consisting of large blades and slashes at the dummy and Arven class it 'Energy Claw'.
Verde (despite her blindness) comes up with an idea with her aide to use her Haxorus's First Impression for a surprise attack, Trailblaze (this move involves a Pokemon's legs being charged up and then rushing towards an opponent) to get behind the dummy + Dragon Claw to create a fast-hitting attack where Haxorus can be unpredictable which she and her aide call 'The Trail Rush'. Sarah uses her Banette's love of dancing + Shadow Claw + Trailblaze to create an attack where Banette spins while using Shadow Claw as a sort of attack and barrier at the same time while using Trailblaze to increase their speed for more power and evasiveness called 'Spinning Shadow'.
Nemona meanwhile has difficulties thinking of a move with Pawmi, she wants it to be unique, but she also admires Ash's style of fighting and that's when she thought of something.
"Alright Pawmi. guess we'll have to try. Let's use the Counter shield with your Thunder Shock!" Nemona said enthusiastically as Pawmi also agrees and proceeded to charge up his electricity and proceeded to spin on his back releasing a stream of electricity but unlike Pikachu's Counter shield which uses the more powerful Thunderbolt as the basis, Pawmi's was much weaker and only looked like a thin stream of water when you turn the sink handle a little.
Although everyone looked on with skeptism, Ash and Cycas looked on with intrigue only for Pawmi to suddenly stop due to dizziness and throw up at a nearby small trash bin as Nemona goes to her Pawmi in worry and pats him on the back as Pawmi lets it all out as everyone stared comedically deadpan. "Let it out Pawmi." Nemona said reassuringly as she pats Pawmi.
Cycas goes to Nemona concerned, "Nemona, is your Pawmi alright?" Cycas asks in concern to which Pawmi immediately gets back up and seems ready fight, but it seems woozy and had to be carried by Nemona.
"Pawmi, take a rest." Nemona said concerned as Pawmi sighs disappointingly and rests on Nemona's shoulder and pouts, "Nemona, didn't you have a strategy of your own?" Cycas asks concerned but Nemona shook her head embarrassingly. "I'm just not good at thinking at new techniques of my own creation and I'm just not good at being creative and-" Nemona didn't finish as the bell rang which is when Nemona grabbed her bag and unknowingly dropped a pendant and ran off.
"Nemona wait!" Cycas said but Nemona ran off, the Teddiursa from before grabbed the pendant and started to wait. Ash looked on with concern, I guess Nemona is having issues with her strategies, while I commend her on her use of Counter Shield, she needs to find new strategies to make her style unique and not repetitive or an opponent will know her strategies. I guess I'll talk to her later. Ash thought to himself as he returned Buizel and prepared to head to his next class.
We see Ash, Penny, Dean and an empty chair in a room that was a blue as the earth's oceans with a green ceiling, we see a man who looked a bit portly but had a cheerful personality to bright up the room and his Torterra which rested in the class.
"Ah Geography, I love learning about the world's features and even Pokemon who have adapted to geography like my Torterra here." the man said referring to his Torterra who cried its name happily. "And I see we have someone who traveled the worlds I hear, Ash, my name is Biscus and yes it sounds like Biscuit my good fellow" Biscus said happily pulls down a screen containing a map of Paldea.
"Tell me, if you were to see the region of Paldea from a map, what would it look like to you?" Biscus asks honestly to the class.
"It kind of looks like a donut." Ash says.
"It kind of looks like an Anime character being punched in the middle." Penny responds.
"It looks like a cog." Dean responds.
"They're all good answers, great job." Biscus said before he turns to look at an empty seat, "Huh, Nemona isn't here today. She's usually here everyday but I guess she might be sick or has student council duties? I hope she feels better, please open your textbooks to page 134 where we'll talk about the region's formation at the beginning of time." Biscus continued as everyone got their textbooks, but Ash looked on worryingly for his friend/student.
After geography was over, Ash decided to look for Nemona and see if she was ok. Ash goes to the gym field to see Nemona training with her Pawmi and Fuecoco with Fuecoco focusing on dodging while Pawmi was determined to master the Counter Shield but was tired and Nemona looked on with a worried look on her face. "Ok Pawmi we can stop now, I don't want you to get hur-" Nemona didn't finish as Pawmi looks at her with determination.
"Paw!" Pawmi said with determination as Nemona looked on with confusion and yet intrigue, "He's saying he doesn't want to give up." Ash said surprising Nemona who turned to Ash surprised.
"Ash, I-I-I I didn't expect to see you here all of a sudden!" Nemona said surprised as Ash looks at Pawmi with intrigue before looking to Nemona, "You never miss class from what I've heard, something wrong?" Ash asks out of concern as Nemona blushes before sighing. "Yeah, I just feel distracted today." Nemona said sadly as Ash decides to help her.
"What seems to be distracting you all of a sudden?" asks Ash which causes Nemona to sigh but nods, "Well, with the Treasure Hunt coming up soon, I thought it was a good idea to train but then I thought about my style of battling compared to everyone elses was just average and so we tried coming up with some unique style but every technique we tried, they end up feeling average. Pawmi here wanted to get stronger for me and so when we saw your Counter Shield, me and Pawmi thought we could do it with flair but we ended up wrong so that's why I'm in a slump, Fuecoco being normal as usual and Pawmii here trying to perfect his Counter Shield."
Ash begins to chuckle a bit causing Nemona to puff her cheeks angerly, "Hey it's not that funny." Nemona said as Ash attempts to stop laughing. "Sorry sorry but I find that a bit ridiculous because you do have some unique techniques up your sleeve such as with your first battle with me, you used dig to confuse me and land a hit and then you used Quick Attack to jump in order to dodge Sarah's attack. So, I think you do have style." Ash said encouragingly as Nemona blushes.
"Well thats- that's because I needed to adapt to the scenario." Nemona said, "That's what all trainers do. Plus, even if you didn't have a unique style of battle, a lot of trainers usually stick to the basics or try to be unique, it takes time to come up with unique combinations but once you get the hang of it, it can be a lot of fun learning more about your particular Pokemon's style of battling." Ash reassures the spunky trainer.
"Thanks Ash, I guess I need to really be unique for this Treasure Hunt!" Nemona said with determination which gets Ash curious, "Say Nemona? Why are you so focused on uniqueness anyway? You're already unique." Ash asks the trainer who blushes and scrambles to find an answer. "Well, you see... I..." Nemona sighs before continuing.
"I- I- I just don't want people to think I'm just some stereotypical rich girl but instead, my own person, my own battler!" Nemona said which causes Ash to be surprised, "Wait you're rich!?" Ash said surprised as Nemona nods before sighing.
"Yep. I'm the daughter of Rolo Banderas, 5th richest person in the world and also you're 8th in terms of your combined champion earnings." Nemona informs Ash who is dumbfounded alongside Pikachu to find out he's that rich, "I didn't know I was that rich!?" Ash said astonished as Nemona chuckles before getting back to what she was saying.
"As you might imagine, I live in a huge mansion in the town Capo Poco, but we aren't like 'haha, we're rich and you can't get any' type of person, we give to charities, help people out, all that stuff. But as you might imagine being the rich girl, people avoided me fearing to be named called or only became my 'friends' for my money and to be recognized which put me into despair after a while. But the one person who helped changed me for who I am was my mother, we both loved Pokemon battles and after seeing me cry for a lack of friends, she told me to show the world for who you are as an individual and not as the person you represent. I was- very inspired by her words and decided to do so but as soon as I found my goal of becoming a champion-ranked trainer just like my mother, my mom would pass away from an illness 2 years ago. Me and my father had a sort of falling out a year ago as I believed my father didn't care about mom after she died and started turning his attention towards my older sister like I'm scrap and left before I could hear his side of the story." Nemona said having a tear in her eye drop down.
"Nemona are you-" Ash didn't finish as Nemona nodded, "I'm fine. I lost myself that day 2 years ago and although I improved myself by being who I am and making it to the Student Council head position, people only saw me as the rich girl who made it to the top and now have to follow orders like some slave which I would never do such a thing. I cheered myself up through battling and bonding with my Pokemon and those students who actually cared but I never really got to be a good friend with anyone until I met you." Nemona said smiling softly as Ash smiled softly as well.
"You arriving in Paldea helped revitalized my goal of becoming a Champion ranked trainer and now I'm glad you're helping me out as my first real friend, thank you Ash." Nemona said happily as both Ash and Nemona shake hands, nearby a young man with a camera on his neck, he was wearing a school uniform with purple shorts, yellow eyes and purple dyed slightly long yet hair (with the purple on the inside of his hair) and a Rookidee on his shoulder looks to the duo and softly smiles before walking off.
I just hope Carmine doesn't destroy them or I might have to step in. the young man thought as he walked off.
We see Ash and Nemona (and Teddiursa from far behind) leaving the school for a smoothie shop as she believes that having a smoothie will help them with their training and as they enter the town square, they hear some people talking with excitement in their voices as if something's happening and the duo go to where all the buzz is about.
"Did you hear? Yucca is here!"
"The famous model who rivals Tulip?"
"Actually, I hear that she, Tulip, Rika and Elesa of Unova are part of a friend group and the rivalry is actually them promoting a movie of sorts."
"Yucca, the black-haired maiden of Snowbelle city is here!?"
This got Nemona excited as a fangirl and Ash and Pikachu got confused, "Nemona, who is this Yucca?" Ash asks to which a nearby crowd photographers look on shocked and head to Ash. "How could you not know lady Yucca!? She's Paldea's/Kalos's fair maiden!" A random photographer said as Ash and Pikachu shrugged.
"I'm from Kanto." Ash said simply to which one photographer recognizes Ash, "Say I know you, you're our World Champion himself." a random photographer said causing everyone to excited once more.
"We need to get you to Yucca right away for the interview, this one will make the headlines!" a random photographer said as the group carried Ash and Pikachu off by surprise as Nemona and Pawmi looked on confused. "Well, guess like I'll be back Nemona." "Pika!" both Ash and Pikachu said confused as Nemona and Pawmi looked on still confused. We see Ash and Pikachu being brought over to a nearby area where photography took place at a cafe where we see a girl with long hair and a fashionable dress alongside her Froslass talking to what looks to be her manager, the photographers brought over Ash and Pikachu with the attention to unintentionally annoy Yucca.
"Your majesty!" A random photographer said getting her attention, "Oh my, do we have another-" Yucca stops herself when she sees Ash being carried by the photographers which flabbergasts her. "What did I say about carrying citizens." Yucca said disappointed, "We needed our champion to know who lady Yucca is so we brought him to out." said a random photographer causing Yucca to facepalm.
"We've discussed this before, I'm not that famous enough to be number one and recognizable so please put him down and apologize for your-" Yucca stops herself upon seeing Ash as she and her Froslass investigate Ash and Pikachu from all sides.
"So, you're the legendary champion that's making the rounds recently. I sincerely apologize for my photographer's actions, and I will now politely ask them to leave except for two of my photographers who cared." Yucca said glaring at the group of photographers who annoyed Ash as they bowed and apologized before they left. Yucca sighs before looking at Ash, "Sometimes, they act on their own to extreme measures so I hope you can forgive them for their actions. To make it up to you, why don't you join me for a meeting between me and Geeta so Paldea can learn more about our champion and his adorable ace."
"Geeta is here?" Ash asks as Geeta appears from a nearby crowd alongside her Kingambit who slides next Geeta, "In the flesh." Geeta said with a soft smile as Pikachu and Kingambit glared at each other in a friendly rival like way. "What are you doing here?" Ash asks the champion who giggles.
"I'm here for an interview about our region with Yucca and I figured with you here, we might as well have a double champion interview to learn more about each other and your new goals here in Paldea. I assume this will be your first interview as a champion?" Geeta said happily as Ash shook his head, "Actually, I had my first interview after winning the Masters 8 tournament, but I don't mind giving another one again." "Pika!" both Ash and Pikachu said happily as Yucca softly smiles.
"Sounds good! The meeting will begin in 15 minutes, we'll let you know when we're ready." Yucca said as she and Geeta went to some producers to begin setting up for the interview while Ash looks over the view of the south gate that leads to Los Platos and awes at it.
"Well Pikachu, soon enough it will be our time to shine for the Treasure Hunt. I wonder how we'll find those 4 champion-ranked trainers though?" Ash asks his Pikachu, "Pika Pika!" Pikachu said encouragingly to which Ash smiles. "Yeah, when the time comes, we'll find them together." Ash said enthusiastically. The teenager with his Rookidee from before walks to Ash's side curious.
"Excuse me, are you Ash Ketchum by any chance?" the teenager said awkwardly to which Ash nods, "Yes I'm Ash, is there a problem?" Ash said curiously as the young man shakes his head. "Nah uh, I was wondering if I could get some photos of you and Pikachu for my photography club and for the school paper?" the teenager asks as Ash nods.
"That's not a problem." Ash said kindly as the young man smiles, "Thank you very much!" the teenager said as they prepare a couple of photos.
After the shootings were over, both Ash and the teenager sit at a nearby bench to talk about their goals and interests while Pikachu and Rookidee play nearby. "So, you're still adventuring around the world even though you're a World Champion?" the teenager said surprised as Ash nods, "Yep, I consider my adventure over once I go through all the regions in the world and what they have to offer." Ash said cheerfully.
"That's pretty cool! I wish I can go around the world like you have but photography club and champion duties call for me." the teen said lightly jealous but smiles but one word seems to have caught Ash's eye, "Champion duties?" Ash asks the teen who begins to blush.
"Oh shoot, haha I meant to keep that as a secret for now, but I guess now's the time to tell you. My name is Kieran and I'm one of two champion representatives of Uva academy you see." Kieran said shocking Ash. "You're a Champion representative!?" Ash said shocked which causes the shy Kieran to nod.
"Yeah, pretty much." Kieran said awkwardly.
"That sounds awesome! You must be one powerful trainer then!?" Ash said enthusiastically as Kieran starts to warm up and nod.
"Yeah although, it seems like our headmaster prefers my sister more than anything in terms of combat potential and in terms of winning to be honest." Kieran said sadly which seems to catch Ash off guard, "I apologize for that." Ash said sincerely as Kieran nods.
"Don't worry about it, I became a champion trainer for the sake of my friends and Pokemon. I want to make students happy and appreciative of me through my own strength without having to be associated with someone." Kieran says which seems to get Ash curious.
"Associated." Ash says which seems to get Kieran flustered once more, "Whoops, haaa. Alright, if you can keep this secret away from everyone here, I'll tell you the truth. My sister is the wicked queen of Uva, Carmine and we're both the descendants of the brothers who founded both academies Raisin and Agrumes and we're the children of Ribes Herchel, the previous chairman."
After Kieran finished, shock flew over Ash's face remembering that he met Ribes who saved Ash the other day and how he wanted his location to be kept a secret from everyone. He's the son of the previous chairman and wait, Carmine is someone I heard before Ash thought to himself as he turns to Kieran.
"I've heard stories about the chairman, but I'll put that aside. How is your sister wicked?" Ash asks as Kieran sighs.
"Let me put it this way, my sister believes that strength comes from us being born in our own regions and thus when Geeta took over as chairman, Carmine believes that we as Paldeans were weak and had to rely on others. So, when she heard that you were joining the school, she decided that her goal is to drive you out." Kieran said shocking Ash.
The wicked queen Ash thought before Yucca called out to Ash for the meeting and Kieran agrees to join the photographers to get more photos but that thought still lingered Ash's mind.
We see Nemona and Pawmi sitting at a nearby fountain as Pawmi tried to practice punching while Nemona was coaching him when a low, cold voice was heard in the distance, "So we meet again Student Council president." This catches both Nemona''s and Pawmi's attentions as they turn their heads to see a girl with semi-long black hair with orange on the inside, cold yellow eyes and a purple jumpsuit as Nemona immediatly recognizes her and her look turns to slight anger.
"Carmine?! Last time you were here, I had you reported for your attitude against a losing trainer from Hoenn. Did you learn your lesson?" Nemona asks the cold girl who just looks at Nemona coldly, "That's for you to never find out." Carmine said coldly.
"What are you doing here? If you're here to apologize to the student, then you're out of luck. He's out for a school trip." Nemona asks once more, "I came with my brother to deliver some files or rather he did while I stayed behind in Mesagoza searching for this Ash fellow." Carmine said lowly causing Nemona to go into defensive mode.
"Are you trying to drive away Ash?" Nemona asks the girl, "Isn't it obvious? Only those born in their own region can achieve the title of strongest and those 'outsiders' who arrive in Paldea are here to show us that we're weak, so I need to drive them away." Carmine said simply which only made Nemona angry.
"You're heartless you know that." Nemona said point blank.
"I only want my status back." Carmine whispered to herself as Nemona got curious but shook that off.
"I won't let you reach him, if you're planning to reach him, you'll have to go through me, Mesagoza's student council president Nemona!" Nemona said with determination with Pawmi by her side. Carmine looked to the two of them and smirked.
"Well since you're Pokemon are simply noobs, why not, it shall be a cake walk." Carmine said smirking as she and Nemona go to a nearby battlefield to fight which got everyone's attention including some recognizable figures like Jacq and Clavell from a cafe who look on shocked and Teddiursa who hides behind a flowerpot holding Nemona's pendant.
"Even if you beat me, you'll lose to Ash." Nemona said to which Carmine scoffs at, "I've trained to make sure I handle those outsider champions." Carmine said.
"Carmine!? the poor lad Kieran has to probably deal with this doesn't he Clavell?" Jacq asks as Clavell sighs, "Pretty much though, I submitted that report against Carmine a month ago and the Uva headmaster hasn't responded, maybe Phyllus's computer is broken?" Clavell said.
The trainers get on the opposite side of the battlefield and Pawmi is chosen to fight which Nemona gets nervous, but Pawmi looks back at her with determination, Nemona starts to remember something before she and Ash left to get smoothies.
Flashback:
We see Ash and Nemona grab their bags and prepare to depart but Ash has a word of advice for the spunky trainer.
"Nemona?"
"Yeah Ash?"
"I want to tell you that if you are aiming towards using the Counter shield, I recommend Pawmi or Fuecoco to focus when spinning as so the attack doesn't spread everywhere and you can focus on your target. It may take a couple of tries but you'll soon get the hang of it, try using that technique once or twice during the battle as multiple times could lead it to becoming predictable unless you have a follow-up plan on Counter shield. Generally, focus on your style in particular and how you want to do things, that's how you develop your own style as an individual."
"But how will I know my own style, Ash?"
"I'll say this, that style may pop up in battles where you least expect it and in a very sticky situation, you adapt to it in a unique fashion.
Adapt to it at a moment where you least expect it. I hope that works out for me. Nemona thought to herself as Carmine grabs her Pokeball. "You'll regret battling me, Samurott, come on out and slice your way through!" Carmine said as she threw her Pokeball in the air releasing her Samurott. Unlike other Samurott however, this Samurott looked to be glaring coldly and its shells that were light brown were now black and red and looked to be more jagged unlike an actual Samurott which seems to have shocked the crowd including Jacq (who grabbed his book on Hisuian Pokemon) and Nemona who looked on in wonder over this weird Samurott and grabbed her dex.
"What in the world is that Samurott?" Nemona said scanning the Pokemon and the Dex tells Nemona:
"Samurott (Hisuian form), The Formidable Pokemon, a Water/Dark type. This Samurott evolved from Dewott in the cold, unbearing land of Hisui where there, it adapted to the loneliness by gaining a cold, dark personality. It uses the newfound dark type to slice their way through even the toughest of opponents."
Samurott glared and smirked at Pawmi who gulped but was generally ready, "You may have the first move." Carmine said smirking which Nemona took note of.
I don't like that smirk, but I might as well try to fight it. Nemona thought before calling for a command, "Pawmi Quick Attack!" Nemona said as Pawmi prepared to charge but Carmine called out, "Sucker Punch."
Samurott proceeded to rush towards Pawmi quickly and smack it before it could rush sending him back a bit, "Pawmi!" Nemona called out as Pawmi quickly got back up and prepared to charge once more at Samurott which Carmine is prepared for. "Samurott use Sacred Sword!" Carmine said as Samurott grabs hold of its left Seamitar and pulls it out, the blade glows as Samurott prepares to strike.
"Dodge to your left!" Nemona said as Pawmi hops to his left narrowly avoiding the attack, "Now bite!" Nemona said confidently as Pawmi creates a pair of glowing jaws and prepares to jump to bite the Formidable Pokemon. "Grab on to it!" Carmine said as Samurott uses its seamitar to have Pawmi bite it and grasp on to it. Carmine smirks, "Slam it." she said coldly as Samurott raised its arm (or I guess leg) and slammed Pawmi to the ground which shocked everyone as Carmine called out her next command coldly, "Razor Shell." Samurott's seamitar glowed blue and striked Pawmi sending it back.
"That is a brutal combination." Clavell said, "And it's powered by its Sharpness ability as well." Jacq added referring to the black sharpened outline of Razor Shell and Sacred Sword which signaled its Sharpness ability and boosting its slicing moves.
"Pawmi!" Nemona said shocked but Pawmi got back up huffing which relieves Nemona but worries her even more, "Pawmi, are still ok to go on?" Nemona asks to which Pawmi looks back to his trainer with determination in his eyes which seems to inspire Nemona who smiles and then smirks.
"Guess we'll have to try then, use Dig!" Nemona said as Pawmi began to dig underground and both Carmine and Samurott began waiting patiently as they analyze the movements, "Now pop out!" Nemona said as Pawmi popped out and Carmine and Samurott prepare to strike. "Razor Shell!" Carmine said as Samurott's shell glowed and prepared to strike Pawmi but Pawmi got back underground quickly which is when Nemona came up with an idea.
The holes, I remember on Ash's first day here, I used the holes to trick Ash so I might as well do the same thing. Nemona thought before calling out a command, "Dig once more!" Nemona called out as Pawmi began to dig and pop out of another hole to which Samurott tried to strike at but Pawmi digged once again.
"And again!" Nemona said as Pawmi began to dig and appear again and again and again with Samurott trying to slash and slash to no avail, they did this a couple of times until there were around 13 holes and both Carmine and Samurott get frustrated as Pawmi appeared from one last hole.
"Samurott use your Sacred Sword from all around!" Carmine said frustratingly as Samurott proceeded to stand to jump and stand on its front left leg and used Sacred Sword in a circle motion only for Samurott to not hit anything and leaving itself open which Nemona smirked at.
"Thunder Shock!" Nemona said, "Wha-" Carmine didn't finish that sentence as Pawmi (from underground) released an electrical surge of bolts from all 14 holes to shock Samurott for super effective damage which seems to impress the crowd and Clavell notices this strategy.
I see what she's doing, she went for the whack-a-Diglett technique by tricking Carmine and then once they've had enough and try to attack, they leave themselves open to an attack and what would seem like a weak Thunder Shock becomes a powerful attack due to the amount of holes that could split up the damage... Or something like that. Clavell thought to himself as Nemona called out another command.
"Quick Attack!" Nemona called out as Pawmi rushed out of the ground to strike the shocked Samurott in the stomach sending it flying before falling to the ground on its side causing Nemona to smirk, "What's wrong? I thought you trained to beat even champions but to me, it seems like you aren't giving it your all." Nemona said confidently as Carmine groaned and grabbed her Tera stone.
"You've really done it now, Samurott Terastalize!" Carmine said as her she threw her glowing Tera orb at Samurott who began to Terastalize, "Guess we'll do the same Pawmi, let's go!" Nemona said as she also threw her Terastalized orb at Pawmi who Terastalized. The crystals began to clear up to show Pawmi's with the electric Tera and Samurott's Tera that resembled a smirking shadow signaling it was a Dark Tera type.
"Pawmi use Thunder Shock!" Nemona said as Pawmi began to charge its electricity up, "Razor Shell" Carmine said but Nemona came up with another idea, "Time for the Counter Shield!" Nemona said as Pawmi began to spin on its back catching both Samurott and Carmine off guard as Pawmi release 3 streams of electricity preventing Samurott from attacking as it's shocked by the Counter Shield.
The Champion's most well-known technique, but Thunder Shock is weak compared to Thunderbolt so I might as well use- Carmine stopped her thought as she called out a powerful move, "Ceaseless Edge on the ground!" Carmine said lowly as her Samurott's Tera hat began to glow with malicious aura as Samurott grabbed it's right seamitar and glowed with malicious aura and appeared to be ragged. Samurott uses its blade to strike the ground causing Pawmi to stop spinning and Samurott slashed at Pawmi sending it flying to the left and causing Nemona to be shocked.
"Pawmi!" Nemona yelled out as her Pawmi got back up not wanting to give up and glared towards Samurott and taunted Samurott which causes Samurott to smirk, "You should just give up your journey here rich girl, you're not competent to be a great trainer so just give up and let me drive out your friend out of Paldea." Carmine said snarkly but Nemona wasn't having any of it.
"What makes you think you have the right to boss me around or control me around you damn monotone b-" Nemona's last words was covered up by Starly's squawking their name, but it left the crowd (including Teddiursa), Jacq covered Clavell's ears and nearby, Ash, Kieran, Yucca, Cycas (who arrived after the interview) and Geeta were flabbergasted at the use of profanity. Sarah, Dean, Penny and Arven were also nearby shocked that the student council president had a colorful movepool of words.
Carmine was not fazed one bit, but Nemona continued, "Me and Pawmi went through so much to get here, from being stereotyped like some mean rich girl, control freak for being the head of the student council, being treated as if I was some queen because of my position. It's what you want in particular, status, fame and glory but not for me. I want to show everyone that I'm not some mean rich girl but a friendly individual who can become a champion that can inspire others and help everyone. Me and Pawmi went through so much and now I'm not going to give that up and lose my inspiration to some Regionist who believes that we as Paldeans are weak but I'm going to show you otherwise, right Pawmi?"
Pawmi looks back to his trainer and reminisces about meeting Nemona.
Flashback:
Before Pawmi ever met Nemona, he was a wild Pokemon meek and shy and one day, he was injured by a Flechinder but managed to escape. He wandered around until a kind woman helped Pawmi back to health and fed him, the woman asked Pawmi if he would like to come with to cheer her daughter up and agreed.
The woman named Gina wore a white silk dress and had light skin, long black hair and warming smile. While her husband runs a company, Gina helps raise hurt Pokemon (similar to a vet) and nurse them back to health and raise them until they go back into the wild in their natural habitat, given to a trainer or in Pawmi's case, given to a relative.
Back when Nemona was 10, she did have a few friends, but everyone treated her differently because of her status believing she would be bossy, but her parents told the young Nemona not to be that type of person but rather someone who can help, but it didn't seem to rub off on some people and was always alone. It was around her 10th birthday (March 13th) and the only people who arrived were her relatives and friends of her parents but all she wished for was some friends in her life.
Nemona opened her last birthday present being a Luxury Ball and upon touching it, released the adorable Pawmi and both connected instantly as her mother and father smile for Nemona's first Pokemon. Nemona, Pawmi and Gina (Nemona's mother) went on many adventures together, and Gina defied everyone's expectations of them being stereotypical rich people by having fun and exploring places and both loved Pokemon battles.
Gina was a powerful Champion-ranked trainer, and everything seemed to be going great until Gina contracted a form of cancer and things changed for a 12-year-old Nemona as we see them in a hospital room where Gina lied on a bed with Nemona laying her head down in sadness and Pawmi curling up sadly next to Gina.
"Now what's wrong dear?" Gina asked her daughter, "The doctors said you'd only have about two weeks left and so I'm just upset." "Paw..." both Nemona and Pawmi said sadly as Gina reached to Nemona's face to lift it up to see Nemona was tearing up and softly smiles.
"Don't worry, for the next two weeks, I want to hear nothing but fun things from you on your adventures from the both of you." Gina said softly smiling which seems to slightly cheer both Pawmi and Nemona up.
"But afterwards, I'll be alone with people judging me." Nemona said, "Then what do you want to do on your future adventures?" Gina asked the girl. "I want to become a Champion-ranked trainer like you." Nemona responded and Gina nodded.
"Then here's what I want you to do, I want you to show the world for who you are as your own individual and not for the person you're labeled as." Gina said happily as Nemona and Pawmi wipe their tears away and smiles though the tears keep falling.
After those two weeks of fun conversations, Gina would pass away from cancer leaving her family, friends and the champion's headquarters devastated but leaving Nemona and Pawmi utterly devastated. At Gina's grave 1 year later (and sometime after the Team Star incident), we see Nemona and Pawmi leaving flowers for their inspiration and Geeta (who recently became chairman) was also there to leave flowers.
"It maybe a bit late but I'm sorry for your loss, Gina was kind of my inspiration for perusing a champion's path and working with Ribes in the first place." Geeta said to Nemona who nods, "Thanks, I really appreciate it." Nemona said.
"So, what's your plan going forward?" Geeta asks the trainer who looks up with a new sense of determination, "To be honest, I was in a slump after my mom's death but after I became the Student Council president, I've started to help out more people and they started to appreciate me and even gained friends, but some still think that I'm a 'rich-you know what' but now, I want to work hard to show people that they're mistaken about me by becoming a Champion trainer to help everyone."
"That sounds like Alola's first and newest champion Ash Ketchum, I heard in an interview that no matter the issue, he's willing to help and he was only 11 at the time which is quite impressive for a champion." Geeta said which gets Nemona's eyes glittering with excitement, "And he's exactly my inspiration, I hope if he ever arrives in Paldea, I get to battle him and take my first steps towards my journey, right Pawmi?" Nemona asked her partner cheerfully.
"Paw!"
With Nemona's determination back in check, she made it her goal to become a Champion-ranked trainer to defy expectations leading to where she is today.
Pawmi looks back to his partner and shouts his name cheerfully.
"Win or lose, I won't let you get to him even if I have to be beaten up by you, me and Pawmi will never give in or give up. Right partner?" Nemona asks her day-1 partner as he goes to Nemona to fist bump her hand.
"Paw!" Pawmi said.
Pawmi began to glow with a blue light making everyone in the crowd intrested and Nemona surprised as Pawmi began to morph its body becoming slightly taller, it's hair tuff growing bigger and started to stand up fully.
"You're evolving." Nemona said astounded as the blue light disappears revealing Pawmi to have evolved into Pawmo and it's dark orange fur becomes a lighter orange. Nemona grabs her Dex and scans it.
Pawmo, the Mouse Pokemon, an Electric/Fighting type and the evolved form of Pawmi. Pawmo uses its newfound fighting techniques to deal with enemies and uses it's paws to shock its foes.
"You evolved into Pawmo, come here!" Nemona said hugging her newly evolved Pokemon who hugs back before he gets back to the battlefield and prepares to battle.
"Pawmi- no Pawmo, we might not be able to win but I don't want us to give up either so are you ready?" Nemona asks her partner who nods, "Good, Quick Attack!" Nemona commanded as Pawmi rushed at Samurott and jumped but rather than attack, its arms began to glow and Samurott prepared itself.
"Block it!" Carmine said as Samurott uses its seamitars to block the attack but Pawmo striked once and uses it's 2nd strike as an uppercut to the face catching Carmine off guard.
"That was Arm Thrust, you learned a new move buddy!" Nemona said surprised and happy but that didn't last too long, "Ceaseless Edge multiple times!" Carmine said as Samurott's seamitars glowed black and rushed at Pawmo.
"Arm Thrust!" Nemona said as Pawmo began deflecting the multiple slashes of Tera boosted Ceaseless Edge getting slightly injured but not giving up, "Dig quickly!" Nemona said as Pawmo deflected a heavy slash and dug quickly to avoid another attack.
"Now pop out!" Nemona said popping out from Samurott's right side and Samurott tried to attack but missed, "Tricked ya, now prepare for an Arm Thrust!" Nemona said as Pawmo appeared from underground and striked Samurott's stomach from below sending Samurott back a bit.
"Alright Pawmo let's combine the use of Arm Thurust and your Electricity to finish things!" Nemona said as Pawmo began charging it's electricity and covered the glowed arms of Arm Thrust as Pawmo began to rush at Samurott."
"Finish it with Ceaseless Edge." Carmine said coldly as Samurott's Tera hat began to glow and rushed Pawmo and both clash with each other, a puff of smoke appeared as both are left standing there. Samurott shakes a little but is left standing while Pawmo faints to the ground devestating Nemona.
"Pawmo!" Nemona said as she went to pick up her partner who gives her a confident smile relieving Nemona, "Thank you, so much." Nemona said tearing up as Crmine returns her Samurott and thanks her for her actions. Carmine goes to Nemona still with a cold face but not malicious this time around as Nemona blocks the way.
"I won, but I do sense your determination, so I'll let you and Ash off easily but once the Treasure Hunt begins, I'm taking Ash down." Carmine says and Nemona smirks, "You'll have to get through me and even if I lose, Ash is powerful enough to take you down and you'll likely regret it."
"That newfound confidence, we'll see." Carmine says as she walks away.
Kieran immediately bows to apologize for his sister's actions, but Ash doesn't blame him saying he knows someone similar to Carmine with a very kind brother back in Sinnoh and Ash tells him he's not a bad person even if he's associated with a trainer like Carmine causing Kieran to be appreciative and leave to catch up to his sister.
We see Nemona at a Pokemon center waiting for her Pawmo to get healed when Ash and Pikachu are seen holding a tray of smoothies with Ash and Pikachu having an Oran Berry smoothie, Quaxly, Cyclizar and Buizel had a Rawst berry smoothie while Nemona's, Pawmo's and Fuecoco's is Sitrus Berry smoothies.
"Ash, I didn't expect-" Nemona didn't finish as Ash smiles and tells her, "That was some mighty fine battlin there, you figured out your own style then and there." Ash said happily as Nemona blushes. "But I didn't win and now you'll be followed around by some Regionist hoping to drive you out." Nemona said worryingly but Ash didn't seem too fazed.
"I've dealt with one before in Unova, I should've punched him, but I kept my cool. And even if you didn't win, there's always improvement for the future and your bond with your Pawmo was clear but we can worry about that in the future when the Treasure Hunt starts." Ash said laid-back and Nemona nods.
"Right." Nemona said happily as Nurse Joy brings Pawmo over from the stretcher and Pawmo jumps from the stretcher to Nemona's open arms and hug each other, "You were great Pawmo!" "Pika Pika!" Ash and Pikachu say encouragingly as it Pawmo says his name in excitement. Nemona then looks to Buizel who was teaching Cyclizar and Quaxly how to use Counter Shield impressing them both as they attempt to do their own and Nemona gets curious.
"Say Ash?"
"Yeah Nemona?"
"I noticed your Buizel there is from your previous adventures, weren't you focusing on newer mons?" Nemona asks the trainer, "I am but I felt bad for my Pokemon back home and Alola for not getting much of an adventure, so I decided that in addition to catching new mons, I'll bring over a Pokemon from home and allow them to enjoy an adventure and showing the newer generation of mons on how to battle and showing you some old techniques that you might be interested in." Ash said impressing Nemona.
"So, I get to see your Pokemon like Sceptile, Krookodile, Talonflame, Lycanroc and so much more!?" Nemona said excitedly as Ash nods.
Nemona then reaches into her bag but then starts to panic and start frantically searching in her bag for something.
"Something wrong Nemona?" Ash asks the panicking girl who nods, "Yes, my pendant is missing, it contains the picture of me and Pawmo back when he was a Pawmi as well as me, Pawmi and my mother. I think I left it back at the school when I left class!" Nemona said as Pawmo started to panic as well.
"Ok, lets head back to the school and search for it." Ash suggested as Nemona nods and both grab their bag until, "Ursa!" a voice was heard and both Ash and Nemona looked down to see a Teddiursa with a bandage on its arm and a cute smile holding out the pendant. Nemona got really happy and picked up Teddiursa to hug it.
"OMG thank you! thank you! thank you! You must've decided to return it to me out of good will." Nemona asks the beat Pokemon who nods, Ash notices something about the Teddiursa that he noticed the other day before.
"Wait a sec, aren't you the Teddiursa from the Vast Beyond?" Ash said causing Nemona to have a 2nd look at Teddiursa and Nemona gasps. "You followed me all the way out here for multiple days, that's reckless but why would you do it?" Nemona asks the small Pokemon with Ash thinking for a moment and coming up with a conclusion.
"If I had to guess, that Teddiursa was grateful that you healed her back to health and upon seeing you again, it wished to come with you, so she followed you and thought this was the perfect time." Ash suggested causing Nemona to take a 2nd look at her and softly smiles.
"Oh, I don't know what I would do with you but I guess, would you like to come with me?" Nemona asks the Pokemon holding out a Great Ball to which the Pokemon happily pats the Great Ball.
"Ursa!" Teddiursa said dissipating into red energy and the ball sparkles signaling capture.
"Alright, I caught a Teddiursa!"
"Paw Paw!" Pawmo said.
"Coco!" Fuecoco said as Nemona releases Teddiursa into open arms.
"Alright, you'll start training tomorrow, are you up to it?" Nemona asks Teddiursa who nods which causes Nemona to smile, "Good."
And so, Nemona's day was a wild ride from beginning to end from her not being able to be original with her battle style, battling an individual to protect her friend, her starting mon evolving and then catching a Teddiursa can things get any stranger? Find out next time on Pokemon SVTA.

Omake (kind of a long one):
Back at Pallet Town, Kanto.
We see Delia, Mr. Mime and Fidough carrying a lot of labeled gifts in Professor's Oak's lab with Tracey, Ash's Infernape, Ash's Oshawott, Ash's Heracross, Ash's Pignite and Ash's Dragonite helping to carry them in, and Oak being surprised about it. "Oh Delia, it ain't my birthday yet haha." Oak said laughing it off but Delia shakes her head.
"Actually, these gifts are for his Pokemon and came from his prize money from the Masters 8 and they arrived today alongside his school pictures." Delia said shocking Ash even more, "70+ gifts is insane but to be fair, his winnings from being a 3-time Champion and his 2nd/3rd place winnings do help." Oak said helping Oshawott open his gift which was revealed to be a cape which he immediately puts on to look cool as Delia takes pictures while Dragonite's was revealed to be a Pokemon egg which makes Dragonite happy but confuses everyone else.
"An egg was one of the gifts!?" Tracey says shocked, "Now that I think about it, it was a gift from the Champion's association that gave him that money but must've included it in there. Guess like we'll have to tell Ash the news of the egg later." Delia said now relieved about knowing the egg.
"While I'm here, wanna look at his school pictures?" Delia asks to which Oak, Tracey and even Ash's Pokemon nodded at as Delia opened them up to show Ash being quite shy when taking the pictures with one photo involving Ash holding Pikachu up to the camera and hiding near a pillar while the other photos involve Pikachu's own cute and cool photos and the last photo showed a confident Ash and Pikachu which Delia awed and giggled at while Infernape and Oshawott laughed.
"He's a handsome young man, why would he not want his pictures taken?" Oak said giggling, "Ash is kind of stubborn but he wasn't like that on his first day of Pokemon School in Alola according to Kakui and the photos I gotten." Delia said equally confused.
"Speaking of which, did Ash get gifts for his mons in Alola?" Tracey asks to which Delia nods, "Yep, I called Professor Kakui to let him know they arrived... Alongside some extra photocopies." Delia said smirking at the last part.
Meanwhile at Kakui's house on Melemele Island, Alola.
We see Lillie, her Alolan Vulpix Snowy and Lycanroc playing with Lei (Kakui and Burnet's son) with Lycanroc having a rattle toy on his tail, Rowlet sleeping in Melmetal's cog while it also slept while Kakui's and Ash's Incineroar help heat up some soup for a sick Burnet who was lying on the couch with her Munchlax putting a wet towel on Burnet's forehead.
"Thanks again for babysitting Lei while Kakui was out, it seems like the spring flu came by a bit too late and arrived around the end of summer." Burnet said a bit dazed as Lillie nods, Lillie looked a bit different the last time Ash went to Alola as she was a bit taller, her hair was in a ponytail and was wearing a blue dress but kept her positive attitude.
"It's not a problem, I had a lot of assignments to catch up on with the babysitting project one of them and Lei is such a cutie." Lillie said happily as Lei followed Lycanroc's tail in a rhythmic movement. The front door opened to reveal Kakui carrying some gifts, groceries, and gifts. "We're back." Kakui and Rotom Dex said happily getting the attention of everyone. "Hello Professor Kakui/Honey." both Lillie and Burnet say.
"I brought you your medicine and I brought each of you your gifts." Kakui said referring to Ash's mons who immediatley go to him except Melmetal who made a rule for itself not to move that often due to the baby. Lycanroc recieved a Black Belt for increased damage, Rowlet got a sleeping mask with Rowlet carrying a bag of bolts which to Melmetal were candy in a way and Incineroar got a fireproof headband that had a Stoutland on it which Incineroar proceeds to put it on and treasure it for the rest of his life.
"And Ash didn't forget about you Rotom Dex, happy watching!" Kakui said holding out a box containing blu-rays of Rotom Dex's favorite show 'Detective Locke' which they marveled at, "The complete season 1 to 8 collection of Alolan Detective Locke and the first 3 seasons of the spin-off Smeargle at law. Thank you, Ash!" Kakui also got out a gift for Lei which was a picture book of every Pokemon in Alola while the rest of the gifts were for Kakui, Burnet and the rest of Ash's former classmates which Lillie was appreciative of.
"Rotom Dex, how was work as the new Vice-president of Pokemon research at the Aether Foundation?" Lillie asks as Rotom displayed a thumbs up. "Positively swell, actually, I updated myself today because of a surge in data relating to the long-lost group of Pokemon known as Hisuian forms by Professor Jacq."
"I know that guy, we discussed biology in Paldea 4 years ago in 1874." Burnet said a bit dazed due to her sickness, "Are you ok?" Kakui said concerned for his wife.
"Hisuian?" Lillie asks.
"It's an ancient name of Sinnoh." Kakui tells her, "Recently, two unnamed students found the existence of an Hisuian Sneasel that a boy caught with the last sighting of these being 60 years ago and just yesterday and today, info on a Hisuian Arcanine and Hisuian Samurott were discovered to be owned by two trainers. I just wish I know who's finding these to give them a handshake." Rotom Dex said.
"We should plan a field trip to Paldea." Lillie suggested, "I can ask Principal Oak about that in the future, but I also have something special. Delia sent over some school pictures of his first day at Naranja and I thought we could look at them due to her saying that they're cute."
"He's at Naranja? That's an elite school." Lillie said shocked, "I hear that he earned that spot from being approached by a good buddy of mine, Clavell. Although, he should've told me, I would've gave him some pointers" Kakui said.
"You went to Naranja?" Lillie asked to which Kakui shook his head, "Nope, I went to Manzana prior to me becoming a teacher but I met Clavell through some school events and he showed up at the Pokemon school prior to you guys joining my class for a demonstration. Did you know I'm a champion-ranked trainer." Kakui said which seems to impress Lillie, Burnet and Ash's Pokemon.
"You were a champion!?" Lillie said, "A ranked trainer but that's another story for another day." Kakui said as he opened up the pictures to show the same shy Ash and confident Pikachu photos which made Lillie and Burnet awe.
"Awww he's too adorable." Burnet said, "I never saw him this nervous when he was here, maybe something happened?" Lillie said as Kakui smiled and showed Lei, "That boy is a bit of a mystery but he's our mystery." Kakui said before turning to Ash's mons.
"And guys, I heard from Delia that he might be bringing over some of his old mons to Paldea so he might bring you guys too in the future." Kakui said encouragingly which causes Ash's mons to look at each other and immediately rush outside to train with Incineroar doing push-ups, Lycanroc running around, Rowlet doing stretches and Melmetal practicing punching from far away to not damage the house.
"They got motivated." Burnet said in surprise, "Those are Ash's mons for you, when they hear battle, they train. I better get dinner ready, Lillie would you like to join us?" Kakui asks to which Lillie nods, "Of course." as Kakui prepares to go to the kitchen, he notices one gift which resembles a Pikachu bowtie and was labeled as 'Naganade' with a letter stating.
A gift for Naganadel if they were to somehow come back, I know it's not likely, but I would like to give this to them. - from Ash.
Kakui smiles and puts the gift on the shelf for safe keepings as he prepared dinner.
Omake END
And with that, we end another chapter of Pokemon SVTA. I apologize for that sort of rant at the beginning, I'm not trying to ignore criticism, but you guys have to give me time to do things and I wasn't initially going to bring Ash bringing back reserves until a bit later after Nemona's first gym battle but I need to appease you guys somehow so how about a proposition, I'll bring back Ash's old mons to give some waiting times in-between Ash's captures so that not only his old mons can go on an adventure, but also teach the newer generation on how to fight and he'll switch mons between 3-4 chapters (unless it's a story arc), how does that sound? If it does sound intresting, let me know what mons you want in the story but please note, I still also want to focus on the newer mons as well so I'll provide a balance when it comes to their character.
Also I apologize for Buizel not battling this chapter, but he'll battle in the next couple chapters.
I figured that since today's episode focused on uniqueness, I figured that introducing a character and bringing back a concept could make things intriguing and also yes, I am planning on doing a tournament mini-arc based around combination moves and unique solo moves some time when the gang reach Levincia and I may bring back a particular character but that won't be for a while and I want to make that arc perfectly paced in the future.
It's also the introduction of the DLC characters Carmine and Kieran who's personalities will be different to the final product so they won't be the same here as in the games but I did want to keep one thing intact about Carmine, she's cold towards people from other regions and no one knows why as of writing so I wrote her reasoning being that she believes strength lies in Paldea's own citizens and those who from other regions are just making them weak hence her desire to drive out trainers.
The first thing I knew was to make both Carmine and Nemona rivals and opposites of each other. Whereas Nemona is a rich girl who doesn't want anyone to stereotype her due to her status hence why she wants to defy those expectations, Carmine is a rich girl who loves status and would love to crush others in her way for people to love her. She is the main rival of Nemona and while Sarah is also a rival to Nemona, it's more like a friendly rivalry but Sarah isn't going to go easy on Nemona but she's not evil.
I actually wanted another fight where Ash steps in and the overconfident Carmine gets utterly wrecked but I felt like that the battle where Carmine acknowledges Nemona's skills was a good way to end the fight and the chapter.
In the next chapter, it will be Ash focused episode as Ash decides to train nearby Los Platos encountering a Tinkatink in need of help. The next episode is meant as a shorter episode compared to the plot heavy one, but it will be interesting. In the future, I want to do a special chapter based around the interview Ash had in the chapter so please be on the lookout in the future.
Lastly, the egg that Dragonite got is supposed to be for comedy but if you're interested in the egg, I might bring it back to reveal what it is. In addition, I might also do a special extra in chapters where we see Ash's previous companions and allies doing some fun comedic stuff or stuff that might releate to the plot kind of like the One Piece cover stories.
Lastly, Nemona's Pawmi evolved, and she caught the Teddiursa from chapter 4 and so here are their new stats:
