Hello one and all to a new episode of Pokemon SVTA where today, Ash and Arven will face their first Titan Bombirdier in order to find the Herba Mystica they need to recover Mabosstiff and Koraidon's health. Nothing else to say other than let's get started.
Cover Story 33: Trip's trip around the region trip part 4: Bonds
With Trip having made it to Black City/White Forest, Trip and Rosa's goal was to unite the two civilizations and their differing ideals to avoid conflict so the two trainers seek out Benga, Alder's grandson at the White Treehollow Tower that combined both modern architecture and tree roots.
The two trainers battle their way through the toughest trainers in order to reach the top. Throughout these battles, Rosa has been gaining battle experience from learning from Trip and her own battle style such as using Riolu's Agility to annoy the opposing trainer's Zebstrika and Vileplume to keep them in place before Trip ordered Chandelure to finish them with Heat Wave as both trainers celebrate something Trip rarely ever did but he says that it might be Ash's influence rubbing off on him.
Both trainers make it to the top the top where they encounter a young boy sitting on a throne. Trip asks the boy on where Benga is to which he says that they're looking right at him, the grandson of the former champion Alder and considers himself the toughest trainer in Unova. Trip asks his question on how he can unite the people of the two civilizations through peace however, Benga doesn't believe Trip can unite the people since he's heard of Trip's attitude before and can sense the bonds of Pokemon and their feelings.
Trip doesn't believe him and asks what that has to do with peace, but Benga says that if one were to strive for peace and redemption, they must be in equilibrium with their Pokemon and be on the same wavelength as the trainer. He can sense that Rosa's bond with her Pokemon is strong, yet Trip's isn't which makes Trip angry over this but tries to calm down as he requests a battle to prove his worth and show his bond with his Pokemon which Benga accepts. Trip asks Rosa to watch over the egg while he battles, and she agrees.
The 3 on 3 battle commences as Trip sends out his Conkeldurr against Benga's Shiny Garchomp, Trip tells his Conkeldurr to stay steady and wait patiently as Garchomp rushes at Conkeldurr with Dragon Rush to which he tells his Conkeldurr to use Detect allowing Conkeldurr to dodge the attack but Benga smirks and orders Dragon Claw behind with quick succession sending Conkeldurr forward with good coordination between Benga and Garchomp without a plan of their own. Benga asks Trip why he started his journey.
Taken aback, Trip says he went on his journey so he can battle Alder but Benga says that he finds that too simple and asks if that's all he had for a goal, just to beat his grandfather and asks what that would've accomplished for him if he succeeded as Benga mentions trainers with end goals like Ash and his journey of being the best like no one ever was or a trainer he encountered named Hugh who wants to find someone important to his family while Trip has no other goal than to beat Alder. Trip gets slightly mad and orders Ice Punch and Garchomp orders Dragon Claw which both collide and knock each other out.
Trip thanks Conkeldurr and sends out Vanilluxe while Benga sends out Accelgor to which snow starts to appear thanks to Vanniluxe's Snow Warning Ability. Trip attempts to gain the upper hand with Blizzard but Benga prepared for it by using Protect before Accelgor launches itself with Double Edge doing major damage against Vanniluxe who is staggered. Benga says he can tell that Trip only caught Vanillite just so he can have an advantage in his future battles rather than catching Pokemon based on bonds to which Trip denies this and says he cares, though Benga questions this.
Accelgor prepares to use Drain Punch behind Vanilluxe and Benga says to not lose your cool in battle but Trip counters this with Hyper Voice, stunning Accelgor before using Flash Cannon to finish things off.
Benga looks impressed towards Trip's skills as a trainer but is still not convinced as he sends out his final Pokemon Volcarona. Trip uses Hyper Voice to try to stun Volcarona but it uses Fiery Dance to cover itself before launching the flames at Vanilluxe who faints. Trip returns Vanilluxe, thanking her before sending out his ace Serperior, Benga looks excited due to facing Trip's ace and the fact he's able to sense Serperior's emotions and the battle commences as Benga orders Volcarona to use Poison Jab but Trip orders Seperior to use Leaf Storm to push back Volcarona and he does so before Benga orders Fiery Dance to push away the leaves.
This leaves Volcarona open to Aqua Tail sending Volcarona back by a large margin, Benga looks impressed but is still not convinced as Benga asks one last question, did Trip pick Serperior out of love or just as a tool which stops Serperior in his tracks as he turns his head to glare at Trip who is left stunned. Rosa tells Trip not to fall for the tricks, but Benga says it's no trick. Trip says that he cares for Serperior and he's happy that he picked Snivy influenced by his mother's own Serperior but he didn't realize the lack of bonding and how their relationship was would affect Serperior, he's sorry that he treated Serperior for granted and not as a partner and a genuine best friend.
Though Serperior is angry, Benga can sense he would rather finish the battle nicely which rejuvenates Trip and Benga calls for Fiery Dance, but Trip calls for Frenzy Plant which causes creates a smoke covering the battlefield, since Frenzy Plant didn't attack the opponent which would normally cause Serperior to not move for a bit, he uses the opportunity for a point-blank Dragon Pulse which defeats Volcarona. This impresses Benga and he thanks his Pokemon for a wonderful battle but as Trip was going to celebrate with Serperior, he leaves. Trip asks where Serperior is going and Benga senses that he needs time alone to think to himself.
Benga asks if Trip has his request ready, but he says he also needs time to think, he needs to learn from both sides what they want and so he can resolve them peacefully but also thinking about himself as a trainer and leaves to do some soul searching before he can make his request to Benga.

Main Story
It was another beautiful morning in Paldea as the Fletchlings were chirping, the people were walking around the city of Cascaraffa and oh my, we have some early morning training with just Ash today. We see Ash's Pokemon training with Pikachu and beside him, Staraptor who Ash switched Hawlucha for the night prior who was stretching and ready to fight and across from them were Tinkatink and Nymble who were also ready for battle though Nymble appeared more nervous than anything.
Me and Penny took care of our first Team Star base, Nemona only completed one Gym and I haven't encountered an Elite Four member yet so why not some training, these Elite Four are going to be tough I know it, so I need to keep them up to date. Ash thought to himself as he looked at both sides of the field and nodded. We see Arven and Morada in the distance taking notes on the battle.
"Alright, it's time for some exercise. It's our typical training but I also want you to try focusing on a flying target, try not to go too hard on them Staraptor and Pikachu." Ash asked as his Pokemon nodded.
"Star!"
"Pika!"
Ash nodded and turned to Nymble and Tinkatink, "Do your best you two!" Ash says cheerfully as they say their names excitedly. Tinkatink focuses on Pikachu and looks back as both rush at each other using Iron Tail and Metal Claw to clash with each other, Tinkatink's uses Metal Claw to clash at the right time to avoid being hit and Pikachu tries to swiftly use Iron Tail to sweep at Tinkatink but she jumps back avoiding the attack which Ash takes notice of and approves.
Seems like Tinkatink's speed improved ever since I caught her, she's been a bit tactical when she uses her 'throw and charge rattle' strategy we came up with so I'm glad for that. How's Nymble doing? Ash thought to himself as he sees Nymble rushing towards the flying Pokemon with Agility before jumping and attempting to land Double Kick directly, but Staraptor flaps his wings a bit to move to the left dodging the attack.
"You shouldn't try to attack directly at a flying Pokemon instead, try attacking it through distractions or boosting your speed skills to catch up to them." Ash advised as Nymble nods and changes plans by using Agility to run around Staraptor confusing him as he flies down and his wings glowed, he slammed his wings on the ground twice attempting to hit Nymble as a dust storm appears from the ground and Ash takes notice and scans his dex.
Dual Wingbeat? A move where the user uses their wings to hit twice, that's a new one. It seemed like Staraptor tried to hit Nymble via Dual Wingbeat or was trying to stop her Agility by building up a dust storm, interesting but where's Nymble? Ash thought to himself as he sees Nymble jump out from the dust storm and uses a nearby palm tree to launch herself towards Staraptor to use Double Kick.
Staraptor notices and blocks the first hit with his left wing from Dual Wingbeat but just as it seems Staraptor stopped her, Nymble jumped quickly off of Staraptor's wings to the ground and quickly jumped towards Staraptor again hitting him with a second kick sending him back. Staraptor looks to Nymble with a proud look in his eyes surprising Nymble as she looks towards her partner Tinkatink and nods.
Both girls high five each other and switch sides with Nymble facing Pikachu and Tinkatink facing Staraptor. Nymble rushes towards Pikachu at quick speed with Agility and Pikachu also rushes towards Nymble prepared to use Iron Tail while Nymble jumps away before Iron Tail could land and strikes with Assurance which Pikachu blocks.
Tinkatink meanwhile rushes towards Staraptor as Staraptor prepares himself as Tinkatink fakes out her attacks with Covet seemingly prepared to attack but dodges last minute to throw off Staraptor, she keeps doing this until she throws her rattle in the air above Staraptor.
Thinking it was going to land on him Staraptor jumps to his left, but Tinkatink smirked and jumped in the air with her glowing red hands and grabbed onto the hammer which glowed ad Tinkatink comes back down to prepare to use Rock Smash, but Staraptor blocks it with Dual Wingbeat sending her back. Ash is impressed with their skills.
"You guys are amazing! And Tinkatink, it's almost like you and your hammer are like two individuals working together don't you think so?" Ash asks as Tinkatink nods and gets back to the battle. She rushes towards Staraptor at her full strength using lighter but fast Covets to strike Staraptor who blocks them. Tinkatink then sees an opportunity and charges up her Rock Smash by throwing it high in the air and rushes towards Staraptor.
Staraptor sees an opportunity for something and notices the rattle falling so he flies in the air and prepares to use Close Combat to knock away the rattle, but Ash seems worried about something.
"Wait Staraptor, don't knock away the rat-" Ash didn't finish as Staraptor kicks away the rattle far away near the entrance where a thud was heard, surprisingly, that Close Combat kick injured Staraptor's foot due to the heavy metal used in the rattle and Staraptor looks hurt comedically but stops upon seeing Tinkatink's shocked reaction. Pikachu and Nymble look worried and upon realizing the horrors about to come, Staraptor and Ash struggle to try to make Tinkatink happy by both of them preforming funny faces but to no avail.
"Hey Tinkatink, it will be ok, me and Staraptor will go search for your rattle. It will be alright!" Ash says trying to calm her down, but Tinkatink had her eyes set on Staraptor who looked scared and sorry for Tinkatink about his actions.
"Tinka, Tinka!" Tinkatink said angerly with tears in her eyes attempting to attack an invisible rattle but upon realizing it's not there, Tinkatink shook a bit and put her hands together. Upon doing so, white energy is formed in her hands that start to have a rocky texture to them as Tinkatink was about to launch the attack and Ash stood in-between Staraptor and Tinkatink but before she could do so, Arven comes out of a nearby bush and goes to them.
"Ash!" Arven yelled out and runs out of the bush causing a surprised Tinkatink to stop her move as huffs and looks away and Staraptor looks apologetic. Ash turns to Arven and Morada with a smile.
"Ah good morning, Arven and Morada, you seem energetic this morning." Ash says casually as Arven nods.
"Indeed, normally I sleep in but today's the day and I know it!" Arven says intriguing Ash, "What about today?" Ash asked curiously as Arven brings out a picture a picture of a Bombirdier intriguing Ash.
"Bombirdier of course but not just any Bombirdier, a Titan. And I figured since you have a Flying type with you in the form of Staraptor, I figured we could train so I can deal with a flying target." Arven says now getting Ash's attention.
"Now you're talking, but are you sure you're able to handle this, last time we got beaten up badly by Klawf." Ash says as Arven nods, "I acknowledge that it was my fault for getting you into this mess and I intend to repay you for what you did to help me." Arven asks feeling a bit ashamed after his actions last time.
"Alright, I think I can train you." Ash says genuinely as Arven looked genuine.
"Thank you, Ash, it means a lot to me." Arven says as Tinkatink nudged on Ash's shorts as Ash crouched down to her level.
"Right, I'll help you search for your rattle, I'm sure Staraptor is sorry for what he's done right Star?" Ash asks the large bird Pokemon who nods, "Star." Staraptor said apologetically as Tinkatink reluctantly sighed and nodded. Just then, Nymble and Cyclizar stepped forward and Ash got curious.
"You want to search for Tinkatink's rattle?" Ash asked the two as they nod and Ash smiles, "Thanks you two, your very helpful." Ash says genuinely as Tinkatink hugs both Pokemon happily and both Cyclizar and Nymble nod as they went off in search of the rattle. They search around the town asking other Pokemon for clues as well as showing a picture of a similar rattle to which many of them point to the entrance.
They head to the entrance where they see the rattle, but they also see 3 Murkrow trying to steal the rattle for themselves causing Cyclizar and Nymble to rush at them to which the Murkrow don't attempt to scatter but instead, one Murkrow goes at Nymble who hesitates a bit but remembers what Ash told her earlier and uses Agility to confuse Murkrow before she runs and jumps onto a wall before jumping to Murkrow to use Double Kick sending Murkrow down to the ground.
Cyclizar uses Rapid Spin to deflect a 2nd Murkrow's Dark Pulse before sending it flying with Wild Charge. As both Cyclizar and Nymble were about to celebrate, the 3rd Murkrow came by and used Thunder Wave to Nymble. Angry, Cyclizar rushed at Murkrow and used Breaking Swipe to launch it away but as he did, a large rock from Rock Slide was launched at Cyclizar sending him flying to a wall. Cyclizar looks up to see a large glowing Bombirdier flying down and smirking at both Cyclizar and Nymble before the 3rd Murkrow uses Thunder Wave paralyzing it and leaving him stuck.
We see Ash, Pikachu and Koraidon along with Arven and Appy at a bench looking at the Scarlet book discussing things with each other before they start to train.
"So, what are Nemona and Penny up to this morning?" Ash asks as Arven looks to him.
"Penny says she's focusing on her next target and needs lots of research to herself while Nemona said she was emotionally exhausted from yesterday so she's staying in bed." Arven says as Ash nods.
"So, I have to ask, what was Koraidon the best at before they lost their powers?" Ash asks as Arven turns the page to a page about Koraidon and brings out a tablet that displayed some videos.
"Well, dad tested both Koraidon and Miraidon and found that their best attributes outside of battle were of six particular attributes. Flying, swimming, speed, climbing, jumping and gliding but when we saw Koraidon's abilities at hand, it seemed they had no control of them and judging by the injury when it arrived, I assume that they were hit by something that could've caused their loss of abilities and are limited in battle skills." Arven says as Ash looks to Koraidon and gets up from the bench.
"Well, why not some experiments of our own so we can work on it in the future, let's try flying." Ash says as Koraidon tries to open their wings to no avail as Arven wrote that down on a notepad.
"Wings won't open so no avail for flying or gliding." Arven says as Ash thinks of something else before Arven points it out, "Why not swimming?" Arven says as Ash and Arven go to a nearby swimming pool near the hotel.
"Alright, you're not afraid of swimming are you Koraidon?" Ash asks as Koraidon shakes their head and goes into the pool and is swimming fine, "That's the spirit Koraidon! Looks like it can swim normally." Ash says as Arven remains skeptical.
"Let's try heading a bit deeper." Arven says as Koraidon moves a bit deeper into the pool and starts to struggle swimming causing a panicked Ash to grab Koraidon's Pokeball and return them and sent them out on land. Ash and Arven go to Koraidon out of worry.
"You alright Koraidon?" Arven asks as Koraidon spits out water onto Arven in response, "Figures." Arven says with a deadpan expression as he looks at the next video of Koraidon which involves climbing so they head over to a nearby cliff to test out Koraidon's climbing. Koraidon attempts to climb the wall and while they're able to climb for a bit, they eventually slide down back to the ground.
"For that one, Koraidon has retractable claws that allow them to climb to higher surfaces and for battling but Koraidon right now can only do it for 10 seconds." Arven says as Koraidon looked disappointed as Ash pat them on the back.
"Don't worry, we'll work on it together." Ash says positively as Koraidon nods as the moved on to another test, jumping.
"Next is jumping, Koraidon and Miraidon can jump as high as an Azumarill and can jump to around the height of a Steelix." Arven says as Pikachu and Koraidon get onto the battlefield to compare their jumps, Koraidon jumps first but its jumping power is the same as Ash who also jumps with Koraidon but Pikachu on the other hand jumps and is higher than both of them shocking Koraidon.
"Koraidon's jumping energy must be at an all-time low if it can't jump that high but there is one last thing Koraidon is best at, speed." Arven says as Koraidon and Pikachu get into position, and both run at their natural speed and to Ash and Arven's surprise, Pikachu is much faster than Koraidon who runs a bit more slowly leaving both of them confused.
"Maybe it's size?" Ash says as Arven sends out Gogoat and both run again and despite Gogoat being slower in general, she was able to outpace Koraidon leaving them confused again but Koraidon doesn't seem tired.
"Koraidon is a bit slower, but it still has great stamina so if we're going to get Koraidon back to normal, we'll have to get all 5 Herba Mysticas which won't be an easy feat." Arven says but Ash shakes his head.
"It might be hard but with me by your side, nothing's too impossible just regularly impossible." Ash says with encouragement as Arven chuckles.
"Well, you're encouraging. Very well, let's get to work." Arven says.
We see Arven with Gogoat and Morada on one side of the battlefield while a sleeping Mabosstiff and Appy layed by the benches and across from Arven were Ash and Staraptor with the rest of Ash's mons on the side and Tinkatink still looked cranky.
"Alright, what does a Bombirdier do exactly?" Ash asks.
"Well, Bombirdier likes to drop rocks for fun not caring what happens and prefer to fight from afar but when things get serious, they'll unleash some nasty kicks and wing attacks to finish the opponent." Arven responds as Ash nods.
"Alright then, Staraptor, don't go too hard alright." Ash asks as Staraptor nods. Arven looks to his Mabosstiff in worry and seeing his pained expression, Arven clutches his fist and nods to himself, but Ash looks worried similar to last time with Koraidon's arrival and their first battle with Klawf with Arven's behavior.
"Alright Morada and Gogoat, go on the offensive and use Metal Claw and Aerial Ace!" Arven says as Morada and Gogoat (though a bit hesitant) nodded as Morada ran at Staraptor with her glowing steel claw and attempts to slash at Staraptor to no avail as he flies up. Gogoat rushes at Staraptor as well jumping to attempt an attack but to no avail.
"Arven, I know your motivated to help Mabosstiff but you got to remember to focus to not lose control of yourself and your goal." Ash advised as Arven realizes this and takes a deep breath.
"Your right, sorry Ash." Arven says as Ash nods.
"And don't just focus on the offensive, your enemy will know what you're trying to do especially Flying types so try to think of strategies to distract that flying enemy or find ways to make yourself faster to reach your enemy in time." Ash says as Arven nods and focuses on his surroundings and looked to his Pokemon and nodded.
"Alright, Morada, head towards the palm tree and Gogoat, you keep Staraptor focused on you alright?" Arven says as his Pokemon nodded and did their objectives as Gogoat ran towards Staraptor as fast as she could trying to keep Staraptor's focus on her.
"Alright, now use Energy Ball!" Arven says as Gogoat creates a ball of energy and launches it towards Staraptor.
"Staraptor use Dual Wingbeat to block the hit!" Ash says as Staraptor nodded and used his wings to block the hit. With Staraptor distracted, Sneasel runs up the tree quickly and waits for her trainer's commands.
"Morada, use Brick Break and Gogoat, Seed Bomb!" Arven says as Morada jumps from the tree and her arm glows and Gogoat launches several large seeds from her mouth towards Staraptor who blocks both with his wings as Morada falls down onto Gogoat. Morada then gets an idea and whispers it to Gogoat who nods as Sneasel gets up and stands on Gogoat's back as Arven realizes their idea.
"Alright, we'll go with that. Gogoat, use Aerial Ace and Morada wait for your que!" Arven says as both Pokemon nodded and rushed towards Staraptor at high speed as she jumps in the air attempting to hit Staraptor.
"Fly up!" Ash says as Staraptor flies up but just then, Morada prepares to jump.
"Quick Attack!" Arven says as Morada jumps off of Gogoat and prepares to clash with Staraptor.
"Quick Attack as well!" Ash says as Staraptor rushes towards Morada and clashes with her as Morada lands back onto the ground smirking. "I'm impressed Arven, you really knew what to do back there." Ash says positively as Arven shakes his head.
"Nah, I'm still learning." Arven says as both chuckle until Ash heard a thud behind him, Tinkatink sees who it is and is shocked going to them with Ash turning to see Cyclizar and Nymble paralyzed and hurt.
"Cyclizar! Nymble!" Ash yelled out going to them alongside Arven checking their injuries as static appeared on their bodies, Cyclizar turns to Tinkatink and says his name to apologize but Tinkatink shook her head.
We see Ash and Arven at the Pokemon center healing up Cyclizar and Nymble as Ash and Pikachu paced back and forth in worry. Thankfully, Nurse Joy and her female Indeedee walks out with Cyclizar and Nymble on a stretcher causing Ash and Pikachu to be relieved.
"Cyclizar! Nymble!" Ash says happily as they jump into his arms and Ash hugged them as Nurse Joy smiled.
"I'm happy to report that they're healed to perfection, they were badly paralyzed and were covered in lots of rocks from a Rock type attack." Nurse Joy says as Ash's head perked up.
"Do you know of any tricksters in the area?" Ash asks as Nurse Joy thinks for a moment and then remembers something.
"I do know of 3 particular tricksters those being some Murkrow and their boss-" Nurse Joy was interrupted however by Arven.
"Well, if it's 3 Murkrow, then their Honchkrow boss must be nearby, that might be where they took Tinkatink's rattle." Arven says as Ash nods and prepares to leave but Joy stops them.
"Wait a minute, not these Murkrow. Their boss is actually a Bombirdier." Joy says getting both boy's attention, "Yes, they often steal items around the region to take to their Bombirdier boss for greed and Bombirdier itself likes to trap people within rocks so the Murkrow can do their job. It's most likely that those 3 paralyzed your Cyclizar and Nymble and Bombirdier used her Rock moves to defeat Cyclizar." Joy continued. Upon hearing this, Tinkatink angrily gets out of the seat she was sitting on rushes towards the gate, but Ash stops her.
"I know you're angry towards what they did to Cyclizar and Nymble but we shouldn't rush in without a plan." Ash says as Tinkatink looked conflicted, but she simply huffed in response.
"You're going to take on Bombirdier, are you sure about this?" Joy asked as Ash nods.
"I'm not going to let someone hurt my friends and steal people's stuff for their own amusement, I'm prepared to deal with the worst if I have to." Ash says with encouragement as Arven looks on impressed with Ash's actions and holds his chest.
Ash. You're always impressing me every minute with your courageousness. If only I had that same courage as you, you were radiating with courage ever since you first arrived. Arven thought to himself as he followed Ash prepared to fight the Bombirdier. Ash leaned down to the ground and grabbed a large stick before facing Tinkatink.
"I promise you Tinkatink, I'll get back your rattle even if it hurts me. But for now, do you want to use this stick as a substitute for now?" Ash asked as Tinkatink grabbed it and although she wasn't happy, she nods and they get on their way.
We see Ash and Arven on their respective ride Pokemon with Koraidon and Gogoat keeping a steady pace, we also see Pikachu and Tinkatink enjoying the ride on Koraidon with Staraptor flying above in search for any clues.
"So Bombirdier likes to drop them fun, not for prey or breaking something so it can be opened like sunflower seeds?" Ash says as Arven nods.
"Yep, it essentially just drops stuff for the sake of it although if you're really lucky, it might drop rare treasure." Arven says as Ash looked a bit worried.
"Thanks, but no thanks, I don't want to be stuck with a broken arm." Ash says as Koraidon notices something in the distance getting the trainers attentions, "Hmm, what happened over there? Let's check it out." Ash says as Arven nods and they both go over there to check it out to see that a bunch of boulders were blocking the way of the construction workers.
"What happened here?" Ash asks one of the workers who looks to them.
"Oh, a large Bombirdier dropped rocks in our way just as we were going to do our construction and destroyed our sign warning of Bombieri's boulders." a construction worker said with a Brooklyn accent.
"What were you going to build?" Ash asks, "We were reconstructing a sign that warns of Bombirdier's boulders." the construction worker said leaving Ash and Arven to stare with a deadpan expression.
"Have you tried destroying them with your machines?" Arven asks as the workers shook their heads, "No dice, Bombirdier blocked out machines with her boulders so now we'll never clean this up." the construction worker says as Ash and Arven looked to each other and nodded.
"I'll handle the pathway; you handle the machines." Ash says as Arven nods and Ash sends out the rest of his mons. "Pikachu use Iron Tail, Quaxwell use Aqua Cutter, Cyclizar Wild Charge, Nymble Double Kick, Tinkatink use Metal Claw and Staraptor, use Close Combat!" Ash says as Pikachu broke the large rock with his metalized tail, Quaxwell slashed apart a rock, Nymble kicked the rock though had to have help with Pikachu, Cyclizar broke his way through, Tinkatink tried to break the rock with her stick to no avail and Staraptor rushes through and destroys the rocks with ease to which Tinkatink huffed at.
Arven did the same and sent out Appy and Morada, "Alright then, Gogoat use Energy Ball, Morada, Brick Break and Appy, Tera Blast!" Arven says as Gogoat launches a ball of energy towards the rocks, Morada jumped and broke two rocks and Appy attempted to use Tera Blast on a rock, but it only chipped a little causing him to puff his cheeks as Arven comforted him.
"Don't worry Appy, you'll get it eventually, we just need enough training." Arven said as he and Ash (aside from Pikachu) returned most of their Pokemon to their Pokeballs except for Tinkatink, and Staraptor who stayed out. The construction workers looked grateful especially the worker with the Brooklyn accent.
"You managed to clear the rocks out of the way, thank you so much. How can we repay you kids?" the man says as Ash shakes his head.
"No payment necessary, I'll help you guys stop Bombirdier from dropping any more rocks. Do you see anything up the hill Arven?" Ash asks as Arven looks through his binoculars to see Bombirdier eating something alongside the 3 Murkrow causing them to glow.
"Yes, I see the Herba Mystica and the Bombirdier and Murkrow are eating them. The Herba Mystica must be boosting their power each time they eat it so if we try to fight them, they'll eat it to awaken their power again. We need to block it to prevent them from eating it, any ideas?" Arven asks as Ash thinks for a moment and nods.
"I do, Staraptor and Pikachu, see if you can try to distract and battle Bombirdier. Arven, your Gogoat's Seed Bomb can cover the hole with the Herba Mystica and then Tinkatink and Sneasel can fight the Murkrow. Hope you have enough energy Koraidon." Ash says as Arven and Koraidon nod and Pikachu gets on Staraptor's back.
"I'm trusting you on this." Arven says as they get on their Pokemon and they run up the hill and Staraptor flies up towards Bombirdier, the bird Pokemon notices and prepares to launch Stone Edge at the trainers but Pikachu launches Thunderbolt to which Bombirdier dodges ending her Stone Edge.
"Pika." Pikachu says with confidence as Bombirdier rushes towards Staraptor, Pikachu nods towards Staraptor who nods back, and Pikachu jumps high in the air. Staraptor meanwhile uses Dual Wingbeat to counter Bombirdier's own Dual Wingbeat until Pikachu comes down using Iron Tail to smack Bombirdier back. Staraptor catches his good friend before he could fall.
Meanwhile, the Murkrow were alerted to the presence of Ash and Arven going up the hill and the 2 Murkrow decided to deal with the intruders while the 3rd Murkrow protects the Herba Mystica. Due to the Herba Mystica's mysterious powers, it gives them a strength boost to push down two large boulders that heads down towards the trainer's direction causing them to act with Ash and Arven grabbing their Pokeballs.
"Here it goes, Quaxwell, use Aqua Cutter!" Ash says sending out Quaxwell who ran up the hill to slice apart the rocks using his watery leg blades.
"And Morada, use Metal Claw!" Arven says throwing out his Pokeball as Morada did the same thing and slashed apart the rocks clearing the way as Quaxwell and Morada ran up the hill to deal with the panicking two Murkrow.
"Now's your chance!" Ash says as Arven nods and Gogoat goes to a nearby rock and jumps high in the air, the 3rd Murkrow panics and launches Shadow Ball.
"Gogoat, use Seed Bomb to cover the cave!" Arven says as Gogoat launches 4 large seeds from her mouth one of which collides with the Shadow Ball breaking it, the other 3 seeds land within the cave blocking the way in and preventing the birds from gaining power. Both trainers eventually make it up the hill and are face to face with the Murkrow with Quaxwell, Morada and Tinkatink facing the 3.
The first Murkrow rushed at Quaxwell with Wing Attack as Ash and Quaxwell prepared themselves.
"Quaxwell, Rapid Spin!" Ash says as Quaxwell spun fastly deflecting Murkrow to a nearby rock, "Follow it up with Aqua Jet!" Ash says as Quaxwell nodded and launched himself in a watery veil towards Murkrow sending the Murkrow flying before catching itself back to normal. The 2nd Murkrow launched a series of air slices with Air Cutter attempting to hit Morada who dodges the attacks.
"Morada, use the rocks to help your Quick Attack!" Arven says as Morada nodded and launched itself with Quick Attack, jumping onto the rocks and jumping towards Murkrow boosting her speed and hitting Murkrow.
The 3rd Murkrow on the other hand had the upper hand against Tinkatink who blocked and tried to dodge but wasn't as fast before with her stick compared to her rattle which she excelled with.
"Tinkatink, Covet let's go!" Ash says as Tinkatink nodded and the stick glowed white as Tinkatink attempted to strike the Murkrow but to no avail as Murkrow kept dodging and so Tinkatink attempted again charging her attack by throwing it in the air and attempting to strike but to no avail as Murkrow sent Tinkatink flying with Drill Peck causing Ash to get worried.
"Tinkatink! Tinkatink, what's the matter?" Ash asks as Arven thinks before coming up with a solution.
"Ash, if I had to assume, Tinkatink's bond with their new rattles when they're born, and they have an attachment to them. Think of the rattle as not just a tool but a fellow soul with both going through the same adventures and experiences like they're buddies in a way and they work together as one. So, her losing the rattle is losing part of her soul and is unable to function without it." Arven says as Ash realizes this and looks worried, but Ash remains determined.
"Tinkatink. I know your worried about your rattle, it's your best friend and great member of the team but would your friend want you to feel down on yourself? She's as alive as you filled with hope and determination awaiting your rescue. She wouldn't want you to give up right?" Ash asks as Tinkatink's eyes widen, she thought about her friend and the various adventures they had together and the excitement of joining Ash on his journey and how they felt welcomed by the team and Ash's friends and a new thing to fight for.
She got up from the ground and prepared to fight again.
"That's the spirit! Think of that stick not as an object but a fellow soul who wants to help you feel happy think of it as me, I want you to feel happy no matter what so let me help you by working together as your trainer, friend and by your side as your weapon." Ash says with encouragement as Tinkatink nods and rushes towards the 3rd Murkrow who attempts to use Drill Peck at Tinkatink.
"Dodge back!" Ash says as Tinkatink jumped back and lets the Murkrow be stuck in the ground struggling to get out as Ash and Tinkatink sees an opportunity, "Use Draining Kiss." Ash says as Tinkatink tip toed towards Murkrow and kissed them on the cheek causing Murkrow to be flustered enough to get out of the ground and dust themselves off as energy started to dissipate from Murkrow and goes to Tinkatink healing her. With Murkrow distracted, Tinkatink sees another opportunity and throws her stick in the air charging her attack.
"Use Rock Smash!" Ash says as Tinkatink strikes Murkrow with her charged attack and sent them flying towards the other two Murkrow and sent them flying like Team Rocket as they disappear in the sky with a twinkle.
We see Pikachu and Staraptor still battling the Bombirdier as Pikachu jumps and launches Electro Web towards Bombirdier who destroys it with Lash Out but before she could smirk, Staraptor rushes in with Close Combat damaging her immensely and Staraptor catches his friend on his back. Angered, Bombirdier used Tailwind to push back against Staraptor and Pikachu who were sent flying towards the rest of the gang but managed to catch themselves and now the gang are face to face with an angry, large Bombirdier as Ash and Arven looked on astonished.
"So, this is- the Open Sky Titan, Bombirdier in the flesh. It's huge." Arven says as Bombirdier shrilled her name loudly to the two trainers and their Pokemon as they feel intimidated but prepared to fight. Bombirdier creates six rocks from Rock Slide and launches it towards the group.
"Split up!" Ash says as everyone splits up to avoid the attack. Afterwards, Ash thinks of a plan to get close to Bombirdier without rushing just forward and came up with an idea he discussed with Arven, and he agrees.
"Pikachu, use Quick Attack off that rock to your left." Ash says as Pikachu nods and gets running.
"And Morada, use Quick Attack off that rock to your right." Arven says as Morada nods and runs in the opposite direction. Both Pokemon jump off the rocks heading towards Bombirdier who blocks their attacks with Wing Attack. With Bombirdier not having any defense, Staraptor with Quaxwell on his back flies up and rushes towards Bombirdier as Quaxwell jumps off.
"Use Close Combat and Quaxwell Low Sweep!" Ash says as Morada and Pikachu jump off of Bombirdier's wings and Staraptor hits Bombirdier with his wings and legs before Quaxwell strikes Bombirdier with a powerful kick. Staraptor catches the 3 Pokemon and flies back down causing Bombirdier to get angrier and blows them back with Tailwind. The trainers attempt to do their strategy again, but Bombirdier launches the rocks from Rock Slide in all directions causing them difficulties trying to make any movement.
"What do we do? Bombirdier knows our strategy and will likely try to counter it each time." Arven says panicking as Ash calms him down.
"Hey, we made it this far, and we've gotten farther than we did compared to Klawf. What's the worst that can happen?" Ash says as Bombirdier launches several smaller rocks from Rock Slide as Arven stares at him with a deadpan expression.
"Never say a cliche like that again." Arven says with a deadpan tone as Quaxwell and Morada destroy the rocks with their Aqua Cutter and Metal Claw attacks respectively as Ash and Arven got back to the battle. Ash thought about a plan and remembered something he did in Kalos and Alola when he needed to overcome a big obstacle, think about nothing and climb the rocks to success.
"Alright Arven, we're going to climb the rocks." Ash says as Arven looks confused.
"But none of our Pokemon know Rock Climb." Arven says as Ash shakes his head.
"No, no, not Rock Climb." Ash says as Arven realizes what he means and is shocked.
"Are your sure Ash!? It sounds reckless!" Arven says as Ash smirks.
"I've been through the most death-defying of adventures before and climbing those rocks helped me a lot in those battles, so I don't see why not." Ash says as Pikachu nods and Bombirdier proceeds to use Rock Slide again.
"Alright Pikachu, climb the rocks with Quick Attack!" Ash says as Pikachu nods and jumps off his shoulder to jump on the rocks surprising Arven towards Ash and Pikachu's courageousness.
It's something that I always desired, that courage to stand up for myself and fight. Guess I was too blinded by my issues to really focus on that aspect but Ash, he showed me I can be courageous as him so let me help in return. Arven says as he calls out his attack.
"Gogoat Energy Ball!" Arven says as Gogoat launches a ball of energy towards Bombirdier who blocks it but didn't have enough time to block Pikachu's Iron Tail which slammed onto Bombirdier hard as Ash and Arven celebrated, though they celebrated a bit too early as a blue light covered Bombirdier weakening it but it didn't matter to Bombirdier as a dark aura surrounded her and lashed out by kicking Pikachu hard, sending him flying towards Ash who catches him.
"Pikachu are you ok?" Ash asks as Pikachu nods though he's heavily injured, "Take a rest buddy." Ash says as Pikachu got on his shoulder and looked surprised by the attack.
"What was that move?" Ash asked as Arven thought about it and remembered.
"That's Lash Out, it's a move whose power is boosted when it receives a harsh drop in power the same turn and since Iron Tail can lower one's defense capabilities, it boosted the power of Bombirdier's attack." Arven says as Bombirdier used Tailwind to blow them back a bit, but they try to stay still. Bombirdier sees an opportunity to launch a large Rock at the alone and unaware Tinkatink but before it could land, Staraptor took the hit in her place sending him flying to the wall behind him and getting Ash, Arven and Tinkatink's attention.
"Staraptor!" Ash says as he goes to Staraptor who was heavily injured by the Rock Slide attack, Staraptor looks to Tinkatink apologetically for his actions earlier and faints. Ash returns him to his Pokeball to allow him to rest. Tinkatink was shocked by the defeat of her comrade and almost considered defeat but then she thought about her rattle, her best friend that helps keep her in check and then she thought about the gang and her team and trainer who mean so much to her, there may be differences amongst them, but it doesn't mean it will split them apart.
With that in mind, Tinkatink gets up and winds her arm up and charging her power in her weapon getting Ash's attention.
"What are you doing Tinkatink?" Ash says as Tinkatink throws the charged weapon in the air to which Bombirdier dodges, but it doesn't faze Tinkatink as she gets on Gogoat and looks to the two trainers who nod.
"Alright, we can give it a shot. Guide her the way Gogoat with Aerial Ace!" Arven says as Gogoat nods and runs towards the rocks to which Bombirdier launches Rock Slide at them.
"Tinka." Tinkatink said to Gogoat who nods and jumps off the rocky platform and Gogoat uses their Aerial Ace to land on the oncoming rocks and hops off each one until the last one where she jumps high in the air allowing Tinkatink to grab her weapon under the heated sun. Tinkatink jumps off as Gogoat clashes with Bombirdier with Aerial Ace as Bombirdier blocks it before Gogoat jumps off of Bombirdier's wings and landing safely on a rocky platform.
Tinkatink forms a white energy that starts to get rockier similar to before but starts to form fully into a medium sized rock as Tinkatink throws the rock at Bombirdier who couldn't block it on time and was hit surprising the group.
"That was Rock Tomb." Ash says surprised as Tinkatink dived down with her charged weapon as Ash nodded, "Alright, let's do this together now as one, use Rock Smash!" Ash says as Tinkatink nods and rushes down at Bombirdier and slams her weapon onto Bombirdier at full force sending her flying to the ground defeating her. Ash and Arven look happy that they've overcame a huge obstacle.
"I don't believe it, we've- defeated our first Titan." Arven says as Ash catches Tinkatink and looks at her happily.
"I'm proud of you Tinkatink, you were pretty cool back there and I assume the stick helped you out." Ash says as Tinkatink nods and hugs Ash.
"Say Ash, look!" Arven says as the Bombirdier starts to shrink down covered with a green aura and although it was slightly larger than most Bombirdier, she was now normal sized but looked defeated. Arven tries to turn away, but Ash goes to the Bombirdier holding a Sitrus Berry.
"Ash?" Arven asks as Ash gives Bombirdier the berry.
"Pokemon are just like us, they feel pain, they eat, they care for their and Titan Pokemon are no different. I don't know if the Herba Mystica also affects a Pokemon's mindset and their actions, but I assume the effects of their actions are calmed down following their defeat and if they decide to not to eat too much Herba Mystica." Ash says as Bombirdier eats the Sitrus Berry and looks grateful and apologetic for her actions as she gets up. The 3 Murkrow from before coming back to the group in a ball, they seperate and prepare to fight but the Bombirdier stops them and shares the Sitrus Berry with the Murkrow signaling their defeat.
Ash just had one other question, "Are you the ones who took Tinkatink's rattle, if so, could you give it back?" Ash asks as the Murkrow were initially adamant until they saw Tinkatink's glare which scared their soul, and they flew into the cave to grab the rattle which Tinkatink was happy about and hugged her rattle immediately.
"Say Ash, there's more of these items in this cave, lots of them." Arven says as the Murkrow looked way adamantly until they saw Ash, Pikachu and Tinkatink giving the same glare but also to Bombirdier who was also scared and immediately grabbed the items and bid farewell as they flew off to return the items.
"I'm surprised we made it through that one eh Arven. Arven?" Ash asks as Arven slides down the wall to catch his breath and laughs.
"Here I thought we would fail again like last time; you truly are amazing."
"You're amazing too Arven." Ash says but Arven shakes his head.
"Nah, you were the real star of the show. Your strategies, your confidence and your battle style are stuff that I wish I had. I'm pretty stubborn but I'm also kind of meek when it comes to this sort of thing and I'm only 16, I should've had the confidence by now at that age. You're almost 13 and have already been on many adventures throughout the world and you have the bravery and confidence to take on gyms, rivals, evil team leaders and all sorts of stuff that could end the world and yet you remain optimistic and adventurous despite the dangers, how do you do it?" Arven asked as Ash thought to himself.
"To be honest, I don't know myself. I'd say it's the adventure that keeps me going and the longer my journey, the more I just adapt to this sort of stuff and face the unknown head on no matter the danger." Ash says as Arven laughs before Ash joins in.
"Your one strange kid, Ash. Thanks." Arven says as Ash is confused.
"For what?"
"For being a good buddy and having to deal with troublesome me." Arven says as Ash shakes his head.
"You're not troublesome, you're a wonderful buddy." Ash says as Arven's eyes widen and nods as both give a fist bump and get up from the ground and went into the cave.
We see Ash and Arven finish setting up a table with all their ingredients in place other than the Herba Mystica.
"Alright, I think that's everything. Come on out everyone." Ash says as he and Arven sent out their Pokemon while Arven sends out his Mabosstiff on a blanket as Ash looks surprised.
"It's scary to think about but your Mabosstiff is a real champ for making it this far." Ash says as Arven nods.
"Thanks, he's been struggling but I know he ain't giving up on me, he wants to see me. And if he's not, then I won't give up either." Arven says as both trainers head to the green Herba Mystica and marvel at its beauty.
"It's beautiful, so the Herba Mystica helps boost one's health?" Ash says as Arven nods and brings out the Scarlet book.
"Yep, each Herba Mystica will boost the health of an individual but for those sick, it's power can heal an individual. This Herba Mystica is the Bitter Herba Mystica, which will boost the blood circulation and helps warm up the body, even boosting the immune system. So, I guess the only thing to do is to put it into our sandwiches and it's fortunate I brought enough bread for everyone so for now, sit back and enjoy my sandwich making abilities." Arven says as he puts on a headband and stars form in his eyes.
"Prepare for an almighty lunch by yours truly. Heyahhh!" Arven says as his hands move fastly as Ash looks impressed towards Arven's skills as he placed down the bread, placed the butter and Herba Mystica on the bread before placing lettuce, tomato, and all sorts of ingredients before and did this with multiple sandwiches until he was finished.
"And behold my masterpieces." Arven says tired as Ash and the Pokemon clapped, and Arven passed out the sandwiches, "Well, dig in because this sandwich is special." Arven says but before Ash could take a bite, Koraidon takes Ash's sandwich as Ash laughs but Arven looks annoyed.
"Hey, that one was for Ash, fortunately, I made extra for all of us including Nemona and Penny." Arven says as Koraidon enjoys the sandwich and as they did so, Koraidon started to glow surprising the trainers as they looked on with curiosity.
"Did it work?" Ash says as Koraidon shrugs, "Climbing?" Ash asks as Koraidon attempts to climb to no avail.
"Speed?" Arven asks as Koraidon runs but still wasn't fast enough.
"Flying/Gliding?" Ash asks as Koraidon attempts to open his wings but fails.
"Jumping power?" Arven says as Koraidon steps outside and attempts to jump highly but they only jumped at a regular level. "So, if Koraidon didn't do either of those things, that means Koraidon has awakened the ability to-"
"Swim!" a cheerful voice was heard surprising the two trainers as they see Jim the camera pop out of Koraidon's scale.
"Dad, don't scare us like that and don't steal our thunder." Arven says sternly as Turo chuckles.
"Sorry my boy, I just wanted to check in on your progress and from the update I got from my camera, it seems like Koraidon ate a Herba Mystica and only 4 left to go. Oh, I'm so proud of you guys!" Turo said excitedly through the camera as Arven groaned.
"Whatever, what are you doing right now?" Arven asks as Jim displayed it's TV mode showing Turo exercising in his gym gear which Arven cringes at.
"Well, I can't play video games, watch anime or work on my inventions all the time, I need the exercise. Want to exercise as well?" Turo asks.
"Maybe another time, Mr. Regalo." Ash says as Turo chuckles.
"I figured, and please, Turo is fine young Ash. See you later." Turo says as Jim shuts off and goes back into Koraidon's open scale.
"Swimming? I was expecting Flying or gliding?" Ash says as Arven agrees and turns to face Mabosstiff, Arven goes to him and crouches down to help him eat his food.
"Alright buddy, just slow and steady now, take it easy." Arven says helping him chew and swallow and they saw a glow on Mabosstiff and both trainers got excited but then the glow stopped and Mabosstiff did nothing. This caused Arven to tear up and curl up.
"Arven." Ash says worryingly.
"I thought it would work, I thought the Herba Mystica would help Mabosstiff, was I mistaken?" Arven says starting to cry but just as he lost all hope, Mabosstiff's paw moved to Arven't leg though blindly causing everyone to be surprised including a tearful Arven.
"It worked." Ash says as Arven was left silent and hugged his Mabosstiff tightly.
"It may have not fully healed you, but at least some miracle happened. Which means we'll have to work hard to heal Koraidon and Mabosstiff and now that I know they can work, I don't just want to give up, I'm ready to face the uncertainty with you so what do you say, want to keep going little buddy?" Arven asks as Ash fist bumps him.
"You don't have to tell me twice, let's do this, right everyone?" Ash asks the Pokemon as they cheered their names loudly and Arven felt inspired and smiled.
I found someone who I can believe in. I may have thought that Ash would've been my tool in the beginning but learning more about him and him helping me be myself and allowing me to make new friends. I realized that Ash isn't some tool to help me, he's truly a good friend and now I want to repay him by working hard to reach his level. Let's do this Ash. Arven thought to himself as they returned their Pokemon and packed up ready to head back.
They returned to their hotel to see that Nemona was training with Penny with Nemona having found confidence within herself following the previous day's events and Penny wanted to get stronger as well. Ash looked at the 3 happily as he looked towards the descending sun and rising moon in the distance.
I've certainly made an impression on them; I helped them with the first half of their goals thus far and now I want to work on mine. Maybe my story is a bit longer compared to theirs, but I should enjoy those adventures while I'm at this pace and work hard. Ash thought to himself as the journey continues.

Extra
During Ash and Arven's battle with Bombirdier, we see Kieran, his Rookidee, Carmine and her H Samurott trying to find a steady position for Kieran to take his photo.
"Are you sure you want to do this, brat?" Carmine says as Kieran nods.
"I need a cool picture for the school paper, plus I want a chance at an internship at Lumiose Press in the Kalos region and Rooki here wants one of their cute hats. So please just be my bodyguard for the moment." "Rooki, Rookidee!" Kieran and Rookidee pleaded as Carmine sighed.
"Fine, but bodyguards to require compensation so half of your prize money." Carmine says as Kieran looks shocked.
"What the- no way I'm just-"
"Wait, shut up and look!" Carmine interrupted as they see Tinkatink throw her stick in the air and rides on Gogoat as Kieran sees a perfect opportunity, they wait until the two Pokemon are in the air as shadowy figures of the sun for Kieran to take his photo and he marvels at it.
"Wowza! It's perfect! It's like a hero and his steed under the sun and displaying their heroism right Rookidee?" Kieran says as his Rookidee nods and Carmine sighs.
"Oddly specific but yeah, alright let's- LET'S GET OUT OF HERE!" Carmine yelled out as some of the large boulders were heading down towards the Herschel siblings causing the 2 trainers and their Pokemon to run down the hill comedically.
"I thought there weren't any rocks over here!" Carmine yelled out as Kieran turned his head towards her.
"You should know that Bombirdier loves to store rocks in their chests, their very fluffy. Aren't you a strong trainer, I'm sure you can take on those rocks." Kieran says as Carmine crits her teeth.
"Not when there's a thousand rocks coming towards us and when the hills are this steep!" Carmie says as they manage to make it down the hill and escape. Kieran's photo would later make first place in the Uva academy press and is currently in submission at Lumiose Press.

And with that, we end the first Titan battle, Tinkatink learned Rock Tomb and we end another chapter, I hope you enjoyed that chapter. Next time, Ash and the gang will head back to Mesagoza but on the way, they encounter Geeta who's resting after a long meeting and could use a battle so she and Ash hav so Geeta can check Ash's strength. Meanwhile, Team Rocket is interested in Geeta's Glimmora due to its association with Tera energy and the fact they don't have a Tera orb, can Ash, Geeta and the gang stop TR before they capture all the Glimmora?

Meaning: Saguaro cactus, 'Flor', Spanish for Flower and 'Brillante', Spanish for Bright
Description: Saguaro is the home ec teacher at Naranja Academy and is the son of Opelucid City Gym Leader and mayor Drayden (a personal headcanon of mine that they're related). Despite his tough looking exterior, he's actually a sweetheart who loves cooking shows, pink and softer Pokemon compared to tougher looking Pokemon. He believes that no one should be judged for liking things that would appear unmanly or ungirly and everyone should just be themselves. He's one of the few teachers prior to the Starry Skies incident to stay after the incident as most of the others left for failing to not protect their students and for the death of Grace.
Speaking of whom, he was the homeroom teacher of Grace and Giacomo and cared for his class as if they were his children and so when Giacomo ran off for assuming Saguaro would hate him for being one of the bosses of Team Star and when Grace passed away, Saguaro was left devastated and blamed himself for not helping them so when Ash and Arven didn't return to class after a while in chapter 7, he was very scared for them. He's also the owner of the orphanage 'Estrellas' alongside his good friend Mesagoza Nurse Joy in taking care of the children and raising them and despite his busy schedule, he loves the children dearly as if they were his own children similar to his homeroom class.
He's a close friend of Clavell's despite their 20-year age difference.
