Chapter 94: The Dark Wish
One Year Later.
Thunder rumbled in the dark clouds hanging over the skies of The Research Laboratory as the entire staff of professors, scientists and researchers stood gathered around a large machine; the seven Dragon Balls sitting within a terminal as each orange orb glowed with light as a visible current of orange electricity sparked around each of the seven wish-granting balls highlighting the already-luminous glow of the orbs to the point that they lit up without ever being invoked into summoning Shenron.
Standing at the terminal and controlling the energy output was Bulma and Ewan; both overseeing the infusion of multiple energy sources into The Dragon Balls while every single staffer within The Research Laboratory looked on in wonder and curiosity as the results from years upon years of research and resource collection.
Pulling back on the levels as the energy output was lowered; each second counting down as The Dragon Balls retained their heightened glow even after the energy supply had been cut off entirely, the heads-up display reading the power levels lowering down to zero before signalling a successful infusion.
"The Experiment is a success people!" Ewan shouted with Bulma giving him an approving nod; the full staff cheering it riotous applause as the many scientists and engineers clapped and cheered for the successful test of the machine they'd spent three years working on.
"The combination of Solar Power, Blutz Wave Generation and extracting the Bio-Electricity generated by my Bio-Warriors sparing with Raijin for so long allowed us to successfully amplify The Dragon Balls to five times their wish granting strength at a minimum" Ewan stated with a great deal of enthusiasm; his eyes beaming from behind his glasses as he stared at the screen displaying the successful test results after a full year of tireless experimentation.
"I never thought such a combination of resources would prove to be so potent, such a power source could change so much whether that be powering a city to military application" Hedo remarked with open palms; already concocting some plans to build a new Gamma Android utilising this new power sources.
"Capsule Corp is not in the business of military contracts" Bulma spoke coldly; turning to Hedo with a serious glare, letting the hint sink into the good scientist that she was not above letting her powerful friends inflict the punishment he deserves for almost unleashing Cell Max on the world.
"Ok everyone; shut down everything and lock up every single door and unit, everybody gets a week off!" Bulma announced proudly; waving her arm to the cheering scientists before the men and women marched out, once the last scientists left the lights and systems all began shutting down.
The lights dimmed and shut down leaving the Dragon Ball Amplifier Chamber with only the basking glow of the super-charged Dragon Balls at in the centre; a shimmer moved through the chamber as the shimmering figure emerged to be a figure garbed in a white cloak with camouflage technology sewn into the apparel.
A hand reaching out and tapping the terminal; the display reading "OPEN" at the domed ceiling whirred into life as the rain fell into the chamber and onto the cloaked figure exposing his cloaked frame, the dark clouds intermediately lightning up with the rumble of thunder, a pair of black lips smiled out from under the hood of the cloak as the figure crossed the chamber from the wall to the central terminal where The Dragon Balls sat waiting.
"At last… my long-desired wish shall finally be granted, and it's all thanks to this machine those weak humans built" The Figure spoke as a hand extended out from the folds of the cloak and tapped the panel; a perfectly clear and transparent shell shielding them from touch, the shell retracting down into the terminal allowing the orange glow to illuminate the face of the person under the cloak.
"Stop right there…" Spoke a trembling voice; the sound of the hammer of a pistol being cocked being caught by the intruder's sense of hearing.
"Oh… pardon me for not checking for ants before accessing your paltry system, it was all too easy to bypass" The Intruder spoke with a thinly veiled tone of cruelty; turning and unveiling his alien face to be none other than Frieza, Frieza's eyes catching sight of the scientist named Ewan as he stood trembling in fear while brandishing a simple pistol but the barrel waved around wildly as the man trembled so much he'd never land a clean shot.
"I know who you are; you are Frieza! Your face is in Miss Bulma's Archives, I demand to know what you are doing here!" Ewan answered carefully though his shaking voice gave away his frightened state; his hand tightening on the grip of the pistol to the point that his palms bled though his nervous shaking made his aim very poor.
"An ant making demands of the boot; how humorous… but if you must know then I intend to make a wish and this intriguing amplifier will make this wish come true" Frieza answered while pulling his hood back revealing the dark scar extending from his left temple to the back of his head, his ruby red eyes glaring at Ewan with an instant interest in killing him slowly.
"You're mad if you think I'd let you do that… you will not succeed! Please… Master Raijin; give me strength" Ewan spoke nervously; levelling the pistol at Frieza; his shaky grip halting at he resigned to firing a kill shot, his finger squeezing the trigger just as a searing hot laser pierced his stomach; gasping as saliva and blood exited his open mouth while his body stumbled down to the floor and laid still with the pistol laying just out of his limp hands reach.
"To think that the golden monkey himself would have this anybody look up to him… he must like being worshipped" Frieza scoffed as Ewan lay still on the floor; grinning as the scarlet pool of blood began to pool under the scientist until turning his back on the man only to proceed with activating the amplifier.
"You… won't succeed… The Saiyans will stop you" Ewan spoke in-between fits of coughing; blood dripping out from the corners of his mouth with each cough and word spoken, though he knew he was going to die he knew he had to live long enough to ensure Raijin and the other Z Fighters what was about to transpire.
"Oh you're still alive, you think the filthy monkeys can stop me? I know that they will try; but they will fail and die under my foot" Frieza spoke without even looking at Ewan; instead watching as the machine hummed to life as The Dragon Balls glowed in wait for receiving the incantation for summoning Shenron.
"I'm going to let you live for now… but you'll still die in time, you've live long enough to tell the Saiyans about my presence here and about my wish" Frieza spoke before activating the machine; changing his mind about killing Ewan so his primary foes would know who caused the catastrophe he'd cause with a single wish.
Ewan struggled to so much as lift his head while he lay in a growing pool of his own blood; his pistol laying out of his reach and the pain too great for him to even move an inch but he had to do something with what might be his last breath, dragging his hand into his coat pocket and pressing a switch on a small communicator.
With a keystroke; the machine played a recording of Bulma's voice reciting the incantation to summon Shenron; the seven orbs glowing with a brilliant radiance before firing a beam of scarlet light into the air which bent and winded through the air under the magnificent green-scaled dragon emerged.
"I AM THE ENTERAL DRAGON SHENRON; SPEAK YOUR WISH AND I SHALL GRANT WHATEVER YOUR SOUL DESIRES!"
"Apt words for an overgrown lizard… I wish for the fabric of this Universe; Universe 7 to be torn apart! Tear this reality asunder to the extent that it shall spill out to all Universes so all Universes are affected by my disaster!"
Shenron's head and eyes stared down at Frieza for a long moment; a deathly silence hanging over the open-air chamber while Ewan lay dying in the corner, Frieza himself casting off the white cloak as he waited revealing a series of dark fleshy scars over his body moments before Shenron's red eyes glowered.
"YOUR WISH… SHALL BE GRANTED!".
