Chapter 2

Every one of the sisters wasn't in school younger than college, except Cadence. Paige was in college, but everyone else graduated. Cadence was only 12, though. At least 4th or 5th grade.

Cadence looked at photos on her dresser every morning. The same pictures. Her Mom Patty took every picture. She had been barely in one. Maybe she just wasn't photogenic.

There's one picture Cadence was in with her sisters when Grams took the picture. Cadence was 6. Cadence also had brown eyes, and only Prue had green eyes. Everyone else had brown.

"Cae, I'll drive you. I have to head to Buckland's for work anyway." Prue offered, grabbing her keys.

"Thanks, Prue. Let me get my bag." Cadence grabs her bag for school. "Bye, Paige, Piper, Phoebe." She heads to the car to go to school.

Cadence heads into school. Prue promised she would pick her up after school.

Cadence had a couple friends. She was definitely an extrovert. More than an introvert. She wanted to work in an advertising agency when she got older.

She got to lunch at noon and in the cafeteria, there was a news story about a convict on the loose and if found to report to the police. But all the students and teachers didn't recognize him. Not even Cadence.

Cadence finished her lunch and headed to the bathroom. Her head was pounding. She found herself touching the mirror and she saw a small snippet of herself smiling crookedly, and she stepped back in fright. She blinked once. Blood was on her hands. She blinked again; it was gone.

Cadence stared at the bathroom floor. A man was laying there, staring up at her, but she was having another vision. There was a man who morphed right in front of her gaze. Cadence realized the man laying there paralyzed was her father, Victor. The man leaning over her father was a shapeshifter, but why did she see herself? Was he going to be her?

She blinked and found herself leaning against the sink now. No one was on the floor in front of her. She was going crazy.

"Are you okay?" Phoebe asked, kneeling down to help her up. "What did you see?"

"What – what are you doing here? Prue is supposed to pick me up."

"Not now. I had a vision you were in trouble. She understands. Let's go home."

"Cadence, can you walk? Here, lean on me. I got the other car outside."

Cadence follows Phoebe outside. Maybe going back to school wasn't the best idea, or maybe, today was a dud. She hoped tomorrow would be better.
