Back again! Thank you for the likes and reviews! This will be the last oc character for a while! Until others peak in of course... I think. Obviously most characters will shine more than others but I will make sure they have some character development. Because there's nothing worse when a character hasn't developed much. Also I just read the original Axel storyline and will be bringing that into this... because wow.. that's amazing and cruel and I will be making this story very dark even in the future so be warned but hopefully you guys will be used to it before we get there... maybe. Alright lets get started!

Disclaimer I don't own the Walking Dead only my ocs

Tabitha's PoV

I quickly put on touch up makeup ready for dinner tonight, hopefully it'll be quickly done and over with. My parents are putting me through an arranged marriage, it was the deal we made in order that I could go to college to study biomedical science. I am set to marry at the age of 22, it is quite young and I'm not fond of it but I can't refuse since the guy is coming to meet us here at the hotel lobby before we go for dinner.

I normally don't wear fancy stuff unless it is an important event, I just usually throw on jeans and a t-shirt and call it a day. But this is a special occasion to meet my future husband.

"Are you ready?" My mother pops her head in the bathroom and I face her, wearing a navy dress and nude heels. A bright smile appears on her face and she looks... amazed and proud. As long as she's proud of me for doing this.

I couldn't speak so I nod at her and we head down lobby. Down to my new future and life. I could be overreacting but this is how I see it as, living a life that's not me. Not yet anyway. I'm too young to worry about marriage and kids. I can barely look after myself, not long ago I just managed to cook a mac and cheese in my dorm.

We arrive at the lobby, ugh, I can't wait for this night to be over with and to get out of these heels already. They're fucking killing me. Hopefully they do so I don't have to go through this marriage.

"There he is." I look to my father and see him pointing out to the crowd. I follow his finger to a handsome young man, he is tall, fairly built showing that he clearly works out but only to an extent. His beard, neatly trimmed and in a crisp suit. Well... wasn't expecting him that's for sure.

"He looks... nice." I manage to muster.

I hear a thump and look to see a man on the floor. A woman screams and kneels next to him. "Honey. Honey!" She begins to shake his body.

I rush over and quickly feel for a pulse. Only to find none. He's gone. That's when I notice a bite mark on his wrist. Huh? I shake my head, don't focus on that right now, focus on saving him.

"Right I have to begin CPR can someone call an ambulance?" I call out and quickly begin my work. I can feel his ribs crack under my hands but I ignore that. 7. Pump. 8. Pump. 9. Pump.

"They're asking if he has a pulse?" I hear someone ask and I shake my head.

"No pulse. CPR is being given." I tell him and hear him repeat it to them. I pinch his nose and give him two breaths. Back to chest compressions.

"Anything?" The woman, I presume his wife asks me and I shake my head at her.

"Once I finish these compressions and give him two breaths, I'll listen for a heartbeat."

"They're around 10 minutes away." I look up to my dad and nod.

"Ten minutes." I murmur. A lot can happen in that amount of time.

20 minutes later...

I watch as the paramedics cover his body with a tarp and cringe. I couldn't save him. In the corner of my eye, I see the woman sobbing. I'm so sorry I silently tell her.

I feel a hand on my shoulder. "Honey. You've done well." A tear runs downs my face and I wipe it away. Looking up to my dad I see a proud sad smile on his face.

"But I didn't save him." I point out to him. How could he be proud of me when someone died in my hands?

"No you didn't. But you were the first person to step up and help. You tried to save his life. That's what matters."

I smile sadly at him. Maybe. I look back to the man being loaded when he suddenly rose and bit into the paramedic who let out a scream.

I cry out and my dad grips me tightly, clearly seeing the same thing as I am. "What the hell?" I hear my future husband ask.

People start to scream.

"Let's go back to the room." My dad ushers us out but people kept getting in the way. I was dragged from my parents and see what looks like a woman bite into my future husband's neck, who lets out a gurgle and blood spits out of his mouth. My eyes widen and a shriek escapes my lips. What the fuck is going on?

"Tabitha run!" My dad screams and I don't stop, not for the screams happening behind me. I quickly go up the stairs to my floor and manage to take my key card with shaky hands and swipe it. Only to not open. Oh for fuck sake. I hear a groan and look down the corridor to see a man hovering over a body but ripping them open. I cover my mouth and quietly swipe it which makes a clicking noise and the head pops up, clearly hearing the noise and turns to me. Blood dripping down it's face, holding what looks like a rib in their blood covered hands. I gasp and rip the door open and slam it shut just as the guy- no that thing stood up. I took my coat off and heels and just curled up in a ball on the bed.

That thing pounds on the door and I close my eyes tightly. Hoping it will all go away. It'll all be ok.

A few hours later ...

I look out the window of the city, hearing gunshots constantly. The power went out hours ago. And from what I can tell from up here, it looks like the military are trying to contain the virus. That's what I learned from the news anyway before the power went out. Now it's just a waiting game. I don't know where my parents are, they never came up. But maybe they're safe and got out of the hotel and out of the city.

Also that thing left my door a while ago, turns out noise attracts them. I did hear screams but blocked them out. I have to stay safe.

I see something in the distance and squint my eyes to see what it is. Helicopters. Holy shit. We're saved! That's when an explosion shook the building and I yelped, jumping far away from the window. They... they just dropped a bomb, into the streets. I see more flashes and more shakes of the hotel. Seeing flames engulf each part of the city, one by one on each street from what I can see. What. The. Fuck.

Next day...

My feet carry me out of the hotel and I don't stop. I don't want to look at the carnage of Atlanta. I don't want to be reminded that the military just killed thousands of innocent people. I don't want to keep my mind on the smell either because... ugh. It makes me gag. Nope. Not thinking about it. I turn around a corner and see a street full of people but they all turn to me and snarl. Oh fucking hell. More of those things. I cough from the smoke. Fucking hell. It burns.

I hear squeals behind me and turn to see a van pull up. The door opens and a young Asian guy pops his head out. "Get in!" I don't even hesitate and jump inside just as the van takes off, away from the freaks. The young man closes the door, closing the rest of the world, breathing heavily and looks to me.

"Umm. Hi." He waves gently and I smile gratefully at him.

"Hi. Thank you both." I look to the driver, a black man, who turns to shoot me a small smile before looking back at the road. "I'm Tabitha."

"T-Dog." He responds, glancing in the mirror. I turn to the young man and he looks like a deer in headlights.

"I'm Glenn. But I got one question." He says and I give him a look. "Right. How in the hell are you still alive?"

I shrug. "I was in a hotel at the time of the bombs. But other than that I have no clue. I guess I'm lucky."

"I'll say. Everyone else is dead." T-Dog informs me and I swallow hard.

"Also do you guys know what's going on? People coming back to life?"

T-Dog shrugs "other than that not really."

I see Glenn's face scrunch up. "Glenn?"

He looks up at me. "All I know is they can only be killed with a headshot. I saw it on tv what happened in California and now here."

I look at him confused. "Wait this is happening in California as well?"

He gives me a weird look. "Yeah! It was on the news. It's happening all over the country."

My eyes widen at that. All of the US? What about the rest of the world? Are all of the countries falling apart like we are?

At the Quarry...

The leader of the group, Shane, which I just learned is pissed. Clearly not happy with me being here.

"We're not taking in anymore strangers."

"She's a person!" A girl snaps at him, probably around my age or a little bit older. Maybe 25. Who knows. But she's pissed.

"It doesn't matter."

"Uh... Shane." Glenn falls out meekly, trying to get his attention but clearly his shyness is stopping him from shouting out. So everyone ignores him. Poor guy.

"Why not? We all need to work together against the dead." The woman spits back at him. I can clearly see Shane getting angrier by the second. He may as well be in a cartoon and have steam come out of his ears.

"Shane." Glenn calls out louder, clearly getting frustrated with him. But still nothing.

"She's a stranger. She could rob us blind." Shane weakly argues. I can see the tension build between the trio. A little less from Glenn, mainly on Shane and the woman's part.

"Hey! She is right here." I bark out and Shane looks at me shocked before he chuckles, looking around at his peers like it was the funniest thing ever.

"Where did you come from?"

"Originally Indiana but I moved to Georgia recently." I tell him a bit confused. He looks at me with a very confused face. Realisation hits me. "Oh. Not where I'm from but... ah. This is awkward. Well... I uh... I came from the city and your two men, Glenn and T-Dog saved my life."

His eyes narrow. "How in the hell did you survive the bombs?"

I shrug my shoulders. "Luck. I was inside when it happened. And avoided those freaks."

He perks up at that. "You've seen them too?"

My eyes widen. He's seen them. Not just me, Glenn and T-Dog. He knows what's really happening. I nod. "Yeah they were chasing me. I know that when they hear noise they come."

"Anything else?"

Ah, he's a lot interested now. He thinks I can tell him more about the dead. Thank god for me almost dying so I can tell this information. For once I'm glad I was planning on getting married.

"They can see you, smell you. They only go down with a head shot." Glenn puts in and looks to me for more information to give.

"If they catch you, they eat you. I think it starts with a bite." I add and he frowns. "I saw a man with a bite, he died and I tried to revive him. Not long after he came back as one of those freaks."

"Kid, I guess you've got a new home." Shane says before walking off. I smile and glance at Glenn who looks happy.

Hopefully my parents made it out. I will be able to see them again soon. But for now, this Quarry will be my new home.

I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter and got a little insider of what happened in the city. Tabitha is one of my favourite characters to write, after Callie of course. Obviously out of all the ocs, Tabitha has seen a lot more of the apocalypse so far, so that'll show Shane! He now has some vital information about the dead and now they have a chance. Now the real stuff is happening. No Rick yet. Just a slight build up of the group and the characters before season 1 begins. Then this party will really start!
