I had to split that chapter a bit, it's better if it wasn't too long, so you guys can look forward to more chapters, and less boring content.

Disclaimer I don't own The Walking Dead just my ocs and plotlines.

Jeremy's PoV

Rick hands the group coats and gloves.

"If bad ideas were an Olympic event, this would take the gold." Glenn mutters and Jeremy nods in agreement.

"This would take three gold medals." Jeremy adds and Glenn hums.

"They're right. Just stop, okay? Take some time to think this through." Morales tries to budge Rick but it didn't work.

Rick looks at him. "How much time? They already got through one set of doors, that glass won't hold forever."

"Rick's right, Morales. This is the only plan left." Jeremy tells him and Morales sighs.

"Fine."

Glenn opens the door, and Morales, followed by Jeremy quickly grab the geek and drag it into the building. We all put on our coats as Rick grabs a fire axe. Rick swings but stops at the last moment. He gets down and searches its pockets. What is he doing? He pulls out a wallet.

"Wayne Dunlap. Georgia license. Born in 1979. He had 28 in his pocket when he died." He pauses and pulls out a picture as the whole group listens to him talk. "And a picture of a pretty girl. 'With love from Rachel'. He used to be like us. Worrying about bills or the rent or the Super Bowl. If I ever find my family, I'm gonna tell them about Wayne."

He hands the wallet over to Glenn who looks through it. Rick puts his gear back on.

"One more thing. He was an organ donor."

Oh the irony. The room falls silent to that.

Rick raises the axe into the air before bringing it down and we all flinch. Jeremy starts to gag at the smell.

"That smells horrible."

"Oh!" Andrea gags.

Morales sweats. "Madre de dios!"

"Oh! God! Gack!" Rick exclaims as he brings it down again.

Glenn looks pale. "Oh god."

Rick hands the axe over to Jeremy. "Keep chopping." He orders and Jeremy almost passes out.

Glenn groans. "I am so gonna hurl."

Jeremy brings up the axe.

"Later." Rick tells him.

Jeremy brings it down with a thwack into the skin. The body crumbling apart like wet paper. He kept chopping until Rick ours a hand on his shoulder.

"Everybody got gloves?" Rick asks everyone and they all nod, unable to speak due to the trauma. "Don't get any on your skin or in your eyes."

Jeremy pulls a face as he grabs some guts and spreads it on Glenn who grimaces.

Rick and Glenn volunteered to put guts on themselves and get the van from the construction site. Jeremy wants to applaud them.

"Oh god! Oh jeez! Oh, this is bad. This is really bad." Glenn rambles.

We are all smothering guts on the pair.

"Think about something else. Puppies and kittens." Rick suggests and Jeremy gives him a weird look.

"Dead puppies and kittens." T-Dog mutters.

That pushes Glenn over the edge and he vomits.

"That is just evil. What is wrong with you?" Andrea asks Rick and that's a question that Jeremy wants answered.

"Next time let the cracker beat his ass." Jacqui snaps.

"I'm sorry, yo."

Glenn groans, "you suck."

Rick looks to Andrea. "Do we smell like them?"

Andrea scrunches up her nose. "Oh yeah."

They all stop and Jeremy breathes a sigh of relief.

"Thank god. I was gonna hurl."

Glenn gives him a glare.

"Glenn." Andrea gives the gun to Glenn, by putting it in his belt. He gives her a look. "Just in case."

"If we make it back, be ready." Rick tells them and they nod.

"What about Merle Dixon?" T-Dog asks Rick, who digs into his pants pocket and throws T-Dog the key.

"Give me the axe." Rick orders Jeremy who hands it over to him. "We need... we need more guts."

He brings the axe down again and they groan.

The group run up the stairwell to the roof as Glenn and Rick walk the streets of Atlanta.

"Hey, what's happening man?" Merle yells at them as they run across the walkway. Jeremy wasn't gonna lie, because it was so quiet, he forgot about the man.

"Hey, T-Dog. Try that CB." Morales orders as they lean over the roof.

"Hey! Come on, talk to me, y'all." Merle begs them.

T-Dog talks into the walkie. "Base camp. This is T-Dog. Anybody hear me? Can anybody out there hear me?"

Morales notices the pair. "There!" He points out and thunder rumbles.

"Please." Jeremy begs the skies to not burst out raining while two of their people are out there surrounded by geeks.

"That asshole is out on the street with the handcuff keys?!" Merle realises.

The only answer T-Dog gave was showing him the key. Taunting him.

Tabby's PoV

Tabby is watching Amy pave a trench in the dirt as they wait for signs of the others.

"Boy, that hose isn't long for this world, is it?" Dale asks as Jim fixes up the RV for a billionth time.

"No, sir." Jim mutters. Jim was a quiet man in Tabby's opinion.

"Where the hell are we gonna find a replacement?" He wonders.

Amy huffs. "It's late. They should've been back by now."

Dale looks at her. "Worrying won't make it better."

Tabby looks over to Shane playing with Carl and Maya. Connor was helping his mother and Callie pin up laundry.

"Atta boy."

"Yeah."

"And three, two, one - pull it." Shane counts down.

Carl does but it doesn't work. "Ah! Aw." He groans.

"How does it work?" Maya asks Shane.

"We'll try it again. One more time with Carl. You're already an expert." Shane teases and she beams at him. "Start it over." Shane instructs Carl and he does so. "Make your 'p' the other way... around your finger."

"Oops." Carl mutters and he does as instructed.

"Good. Just tie it like around your finger. Atta boy."

The radio squawks to life.

"Hello? Base camp! Can anybody out there hear me?Base camp, this is T-Dog.Anybody hear me?"

Dale rushes up and takes the radio. "Hello? Hello? Reception's bad on this end. Repeat. Repeat."

"Shane is that you?"

"Is that them?" Lori calls up.

"I think so." Tabby lets her know and she grabs her shoulder in support.

"We're in some deep shit. We're trapped in the department store."

Tabby puts a hand to her mouth in shock. Everyone else has gathered by the RV at this point, shocked by the news.

"He say they're trapped?" Shane asks.

Dale puts up a hand.

"There are geeks all over the place. Hundreds of 'em. We're surrounded."

"T-Dog, repeat that last. Repeat."

That's when the radio stops and they're all left in silence.

"He said the department store." Lori points out.

"I heard it too." Dale supports her.

Tabby looks to them. "And me."

Lori turns to the man in charge. "Shane?"

He shakes his head. "No way. We do not go after them. We do not risk the rest of the group. Y'all know that." He pauses and looks at Amy who looks disgusted by his words. "Look, Amy, I know that this is not easy-

"She volunteered to go. To help the rest of us." Amy reminds him.

"I know. And she knew the risks, right? See, if she's trapped, she's gone. So we just have to deal with that. There's nothing that we can do." Shane tells her.

Tabby glares at Shane.

"She's my sister, you son of a bitch." She spits and runs off.

Lori looks at Shane before following her, and Tabby follows. "Amy!"

Amy is crying on a log when the pair arrive.

"Amy." Tabby says softly which makes Amy wrap herself around her, and Tabby lets her.

"He's a dick. My sister is out there and she might not come back."

"I'm sure she's fine. She'll be back." But as Tabby said those words, she felt like it was an empty promise.

Jeremy's PoV

The group is still watching Rick and Glenn when it starts to rain.

"Oh fuck." Jeremy murmurs and they all look at each other panicked.

"Oh man."

It starts to pour down on them, soaking the clothes onto their skins.

"It's just a cloudburst. We get 'em all the time. It'll pass real quick." Morales informs us and Jeremy hopes he's right. This is their only way out. The only option left.

That's when they see them running and the whole street of walkers is chasing after them.

"Come on, come on."

"Please be safe." Jeremy mutters.

They watch as they hop the fence before getting in a truck and leaving. Wait, what?

"They're leaving us." Andrea points out panicked.

"What? What?" Merle exclaims. Jeremy doesn't blame him one bit.

"Where they going? Where they going?"

"No, no. Come back."

"Please come back." Jeremy mutters.

"Those roll-up doors at the front of the storefacing the street. Meet us there and be ready."

Glenn's voice over the radio calls out and they all rush to grab their bags.

"Come on! Let's go! Let's go!" Morales urges and Jeremy grabs a final bag.

"Hey! You can't leave me here! I'm not fooling, man! Morales! Hey, man! Don't do this!

"Come on!" Andrea calls and both her and Jacqui leave the roof.

"Hey, that's my gun. You can't leave me. Don't leave me here, you guys."

"Morales, come on!" Jeremy hears Andrea scream.

"I'm coming! We've gotta go!" Morales urges, looking at both Jeremy and T-Dog's eyes.

"T, hurry up!" Jeremy urges and leaves the roof, ignoring Merle all together.

Jeremy catches up with Morales and Andrea, and they see geeks banging on the doors.

"Come on." Jeremy urges and they push through to the other room, where they'll be meeting Glenn and Rick.

"Okay. Okay. I got it."

That's when they hear something.

"Shh." Morales puts a finger to his lips and they all listen out.

"What is that?" Andrea hisses and Jeremy concentrates.

That's when he hears it.

"Is that a car alarm?" Jeremy asks bewildered. "Glenn and Rick are crazy."

"Definitely." Morales and Andrea say at the same time.

"Hey! Wait for me!" They hear T-Dog scream and he enters the loading bay. "They're here! Let's go! They're in here."

That's when a bang on the door happens and they immediately pull on the chain to open it. They quickly throw the bags in, and all jump on.

"I'm in!" Morales shouts and close the doors, just as the geeks approach the van. Rick drives off.

As they all catch their breath, Jeremy notices how quiet it was. No shouting. No curses. No Merle. They all look to T-Dog.

"I dropped the damn key."

They all fall silent. Jeremy realises that Callie is gonna kill him. Oh shit.

"Where's Glenn?" Andrea asks and Jeremy realises that the Korean is not with them.

"Has his own ride. That car alarm was him." Rick answers and they all look at each other surprised.

Merle has been left behind. It's an important part of Daryl's character development. So it needed to happen. Callie is going to have some words with certain people. Rick is on his way to camp. It's all happening.
