Nearly at the finale of season 1. I didn't realise how far I was writing until this point. Also just watched the Season 11 Premiere and wow... everyone was being such a dick to Negan, justified but Maggie was putting the group at risk, Gage almost died. She didn't care. Also going to kill this group for food? Hmm... that reminds me of something quite obvious, we all know what happened last time. Anyway, let's get started!

Disclaimer I don't own The Walking Dead just my ocs and plotlines.

It was dawn, and the group was packing up their things, ready to head to the CDC.

Callie walks over to Josie. "How are you holding up?" She asks and Josie just nods.

"I'm fine. Connor is dealing. Maya is doing terrible." Josie explains and Callie nods in understanding. "I told them that what you did stopped him from coming back, because he didn't deserve to be one of them. They're not mad at you." She explains and Callie smiles warmly.

"You didn't have to do that."

"I can't have them be mad at you for no reason. When you did the right thing." Josie puts a hand on Callie's arm. "Thank you, for what you did."

"Everybody, listen up. Those of you with CB.s, we're gonna be on channel 40. Let's keep the chatter down, okay? Now you got a problem, don't have a CB, can't get a signal or anything at all, you're gonna but your horn one time. That'll stop the caravan. Any questions?" Shane asks everyone after he's stopped explaining everything.

Morales steps up. "We're, Uh... we're not going."

"We have family in Birmingham. We want to be with our people."

Shane looks at Morales. "You go on your own, you won't have anyone to watch your back."

"We'll take the chance. I got to do what's best for my family." Morales tells him.

"You're sure?" Rick double checks with the man.

Morales nods his head. "We talked about it. We're sure."

Rick nods. "All right, Shane."

"Yeah, all right."

".357?" Rick asks and Shane mutters a yeah. Rick hands over a gun to Morales and Shane hands him some ammo. Daryl scoffs.

"The box is half full." Shane explains to him.

Miranda smiles. "Thank you all... for everything."

Everyone hugs their goodbyes to the family. Knowing they would never see them again.

"Channel 40 if you change your minds." Rick tells Morales who smiles.

"Yeah."

The group parts ways. Splitting into vehicles. Tabby hops into a vehicle with Shane; Dale, Andrea, Amy, Glenn, Jim, Jacqui are in the RV; Rick, Lori, Carl, Carol, and Sophia in Carol's Chevy. T-Dog, Josie, Jeremy, Connor, and Maya in T's van, then Callie hops into Daryl's truck.

They were half way to the CDC when they slow to a stop. They all get out and look to Dale, who looks worried.

"I told you we'd never get far on that hose. I said I needed the one from the cube van." Dale points out to Rick who sighs.

"Can you jury-rig it?" Rick asks him.

"That's all it's been so far. It's more duct tape than hose. And I'm out of duct tape." Dale explains and everyone is looking around warily.

"I see something up ahead. A gas station if we're lucky." Shane hopes.

"I can go with you." Jeremy offers and Shane smiles.

Jacqui rushes out of the RV. "Y'all, Jim, it's bad. I don't think he can take anymore."

"Hey, Rick, you want to hold down the fort? I'll drive ahead, see what I can bring back."

"Yeah, I'll come along too and I'll back you up."

"Y'all keep your eyes open now. We'll be right back." Shane says, and him, Jeremy and T-Dog drive ahead in his jeep.

Rick and Callie walk into the RV.

"We'll be on the road soon." Rick informs Jim.

He whispers. "Oh no. Christ... my bones... my bones are like glass. Every little bump... god, this ride is killing me. Leave me here. I'm done. Just leave me. I want to be with my family." He begs and Callie looks down on the floor.

"They're all dead. I don't think you know what you're asking. The fever... you've been delirious more often than not."

"I know. Don't you think I know?" Jim asks him, tears in his eyes. He groans again. "I'm clear now. In five minutes I may not be. Rick, I know what I'm asking. I want this. Leave me here. Now that's on me, okay? My decision. Not your failure." Jim looks to Callie. "Both of you."

Callie nods before they go outside and tell the others. Callie notes that Jeremy, T-Dog and Shane are back. She looks at Jeremy who shakes his head. Nothing.

"It's what he says he wants."

"And he's lucid?" Carol asks, shocked that is even an option. Like they're already blaming Rick and Callie for this decision.

"He seems to be. I would say yes." Rick informs them. Callie could see the hesitancy from the group, about leaving someone behind.

"Back in the camp when I said Daryl might be right and you shut me down, you misunderstood. I would never go along with callously killing a man. I was just gonna suggest that we ask Jim what he wants. And I think we have an answer." Dale explains.

"We just leave him here? We take off? Man, I'm not sure I could live with that." Shane mutters.

He was fine with leaving Merle.

"It's not your call, either one of you." Lori points out to the two men. Rick and Shane look at each other before heading into the RV. To give what Jim wants.

A few minutes later, they're carrying Jim out, who winced with every movement. Callie felt the pressure of the gun in her belt. Would he want me to do it? They leave him by a tree.

"Yeah. That's it."

Jim groans. "Hey, another damn tree." He laughs.

Callie sees Josie crying. Maybe it was something they had to do when they went to get Merle.

"Hey, Jim... I mean, you know it doesn't need to be this." Shane tells him.

Jim shakes his head. "No. It's good. The breeze feels nice."

"Okay. All right."

Jacqui kneels down in front of him. "Just close your eyes, sweetie. Don't fight." She kisses him on the cheek and walks away.

Rick takes a gun and shows it to Jim. "Jim, do you want this?"

"No, you'll need it. I'm okay. I'm okay." He insists. Rick walks away.

Leaves one option.

Dale crouches down in front of him. "Hey. Thanks for, Uh, for fighting for us."

Jim smiles at him.

Callie looks at Jim. "Do you want me to?" She asks and untucks her gun.

He shakes his head. "No. You've done enough for this group already."

Callie was the last one to walk back to the group, clearly they were all waiting for the gunshot that never came.

That was another.

The vehicles stop outside of the CDC. Well what was left of it. There were a lot of corpses surrounding the building, what was left of the army.

Callie hops out of the vehicle and coughs from the smell. Holy shit that's bad. The group quietly approach the building.

"All right, everybody. Keep moving. Go on. Stay quiet. Let's go. Okay, keep moving. Stay together." Shane urges and everyone is cramped together like sardines in a can.

"Keep moving. Come on."

"Oh god." Glenn groans, looking at the bodies, being swarmed by hundreds of flies.

They reach the building but it's locked.

"Nothing?" Shane asks and pounds on the door.

"There's nobody here." T-Dog points out.

There's got to be someone.

"Then why are the shutters down?" Rick snaps.

"He's right. Someone might be inside." Callie backs Rick up, who gives her a nod of appreciation.

"Walkers!" Daryl hisses and shoots a walker dead. The kids start to cry from being out in the open. "You led us into a graveyard!"

"He made a call." Shane hisses.

"It was the wrong damn call." Daryl snaps.

Shane gets in his face. "Just shut up. You hear? Shut up. Shut up! Rick, this is a dead end!"

"Where are we gonna go?" Carol cries.

"We need a plan." Tabby points out, looking at Rick.

"Then come up with one." Callie snaps back at the girl.

"She's right. We can't be here, this close to the city after dark." Lori says.

Shane turns to Rick. "Fort Benning, Rick- still an option."

"On what? No food, no fuel. That's 100 miles." Andrea reminds Shane.

"125. I checked the map." Glenn corrects her, she gives him a look.

"We need to decide something." Amy says determined.

"Forget Fort Benning. Amy's right. We need answers tonight, now." Lori snaps.

Rick turns to everyone. "We'll think it something."

"Come on, let's go. Let's get out of here. Let's go. Please." Shane ushers everyone. "All right, everybody back to the cars. Let's go. Move."

"The camera-- it moved." Rick speaks up and Callie turns to him confused.

"What?"

"You imagined it." Dale tells him.

"It moved. It moved." Rick mutters and walks to the camera, that's when Callie does see it move, slightly. Following Rick's movements.

Shane goes to Rick. "Rick, it is dead, man. It's an automated device. It's gears, okay? They're just winding down. Now come on." He tries to urge Rick to move who doesn't budge one inch. "Man, just listen to me. Look around this place. It's dead, okay? It's dead. You need to let it go, Rick."

Rick slams on the shutters.

"Rick, there's nobody here!" Lori yells at her husband.

"I know you're in there. I know you can hear me." Rick tells the camera, Shane tries to drag him away with the help of Lori. "Please, we're desperate. Please help us. We have women, children, no food, hardly any gas left."

"Rick there's nobody here." Lori cries

"We have nowhere else to go." Rick please and bangs on the door.

"Come on. Jeremy tells her and starts pulling her back.

"If you don't let us in, you're killing us! Please!"

Shane walks back to Rick. "Come on, buddy. Let's go. Let's go." He starts pushing Rick back.

"Please help us. You're killing us! You're killing us! You're killing us!" Rick screams.

That's when there was a bright light. And Callie realised the door was open. Rick was right.

Phew that was close! And that's Jim dead as well. Christ I didn't realise this was what it was like on the show. Already 4 characters dead in 2 chapters. Anyway, let me know what you guys think!
