We're officially at the Season 1 finale! Haha I'm so excited! Also I forgot to mention in the last chapter about how much I liked S11 Ep1, and I've got to say it was amazing, I was tense throughout it all. 100/10! Let's get straight into it, shall we? Disclaimer I don't own The Walking Dead just my ocs and plotlines.

They were just staring at the door, maybe it was a dream? Was it too good to be true? Was it even real?

"Daryl, Jeremy, you guys cover the back." Shane orders and they do what he says.

They all enter the building. It's real. Callie couldn't believe that it was real.

"Hello? Hello?" Rick calls out. Clearly hoping anyone would answer.

"Close those doors. Watch for walkers." Callie orders Jeremy and Daryl. The guys at the back, who immediately close the doors.

They look around the lobby, noticing that it's empty.

"Hello?" Rick tries again. Maybe there was no one here?

A gun cocks. "Anybody infected?"

The group turns to a man holding a rifle. Amateur, Callie notes. But dangerous.

"One of our group was. He didn't make it." Rick tells him honestly.

"Why are you here? What do you want?" The man presses.

Rick and Callie look at each other.

"A chance." Rick answers.

The man comes into view. "That's asking an awful lot these days."

Rick nods. "I know."

The man takes each of them in. Please let us in. "You all submit to a blood test. That's the price for admission."

Rick and Callie look at each other again. Agree? Yes. "We can do that." Callie tells the man.

She can see the gears turning in the man's head. Deciding.

The man lowers his weapon. "You got stuff to bring in, you do it now. Once this door closes it stays closed."

"Jeremy, T-Dog, Shane, Daryl, Glenn... get our things." Callie orders them and they quickly run outside to the vehicles. Grabbing whatever was important. There was no need to go back out there. They were safe.

It was a few minutes before they all returned with bags, Jeremy handed Callie her bag before they go into the elevator with the man.

"Vi, seal the main entrance. Kill the power up here." The man orders.

Rick turns to him and holds out his hand. "Rick Grimes."

He takes it. "Dr Edwin Jenner."

The elevator starts to go down and it stays silent for a moment. Now this was like sardines in a can. Callie was trying not to elbow someone, or one of the kids.

"Doctors always go around packing heat like that?" Daryl asks him.

"There were plenty left lying around. I familiarised myself. But you look harmless enough." Jenner looks at Carl. "Except you, I'll have to keep my eye on you."

Carl smiles at the doctor.

The elevator opens and Jenner leads the group down a hallway.

"Are we underground?" Carol asks him.

"Are you claustrophobic?" Jenner just asks.

"A little." Carol answers.

Jenner doesn't turn around. "Try not to think about it."

They enter a huge room, full of computers.

"Vi, bring up the lights in the big room. Welcome to zone 5." Jenner introduces to the group and Callie notices that it's completely empty.

"Where is everybody? The other doctors, the staff?"

Jenner turns back to them. "I'm it. It's just me here."

They all look at each other concerned.

"What about the person you were speaking with? Vi?" Lori asks the doctor.

"Vi, say hello to our guests. Tell them... welcome." Jenner just says.

"Hello guests. Welcome." A robotic voice responds.

"Artificial intelligence." Callie mutters and Jenner nods his head sadly.

"I'm all that's left. I'm sorry."

Andrea was the last person getting her blood taken by Dr Jenner. Everyone felt a little lightheaded since none of them have eaten, that's because they haven't got any food left.

"What's the point? If we were infected, we'd all be running a fever." Andrea moans.

"Andrea, just be grateful that he's letting us in." Amy argues and Andrea bites her tongue.

Dr Jenner looks gratefully at the younger blonde. "I've already broken every rule in the book letting you in here. Let me just at least be thorough." He explains to the woman and finishes taking her blood. "All done."

Andrea stumbles and Jacqui catches her.

"Are you okay?" Jenner looks at her concerned.

She just nods.

"She hasn't eaten in days. None of us have." Jacqui explains to him.

"I can fix that."

They sitting around the cafeteria when Carol was dishing up pasta for everyone. Everyone was laughing and joking, drinking wine. Carefree. This was something that Callie wasn't used to.

Dale is smiling while he is pouring wine and offers some to Lori.

"Fine."Lori breaks and Dale grins as he pours some.

"You know, in Italy, children have a little bit of wine with dinner. And in France." Dale teaches Lori, trying to persuade her to drink some.

"Well, when Carl is in Italy or France, he can have some then." Lori tells him.

Rick gives her a look. "What's it gonna hurt? Come on. Come on."

Lori gives in and everyone cheers as Dale pours a little bit.

"There you are, young lad."

Everyone watches as Carl takes a sip.

Carl blanches. "Eww." Everyone laughs.

"That's my boy. That's my boy." Lori cheers as she pours his wine into her own glass.

"Yuck, that's nasty."

"Well, just stick to soda pop there, bud." Shane tells him and he nods in agreement.

"Not you, Glenn." Daryl says, and Glenn looks at him confused. "Keep drinking, little man. I want to see how red your face can get."

"Can I have some, Mom?" Connor asks Josie who nods, smiling. The first time she's smiles since Elijah died.

"Sure."

Everyone cheers as Connor's glass is poured with some wine. He takes a sip and pulls a face.

"Not bad."

Everyone laughs.

This is nice.

Rick taps his glass. "It seems to me we haven't thanked our host properly."

"He is more than just our host." T-Dog points out and everyone raises their glass.

"Hear hear!" Dale shouts.

"Here's to you, Doc. Booyah!" Daryl raises his glass.

"Booyah!" Callie cheers and everyone clinks glasses.

"Remember that time when you slipped into a pile of boxes?" Glenn jokes with Callie who grins.

"That was one run."

Everyone laughs at the two.

No more runs. No more risking their lives. They can have fun. Maybe they could do a couple of runs to get more food in the future, but right now? They're safe. No more people are dying.

"So when are you gonna tell us what the hell happened here, Doc?" Shane breaks the fun and everyone falls silent. "All the-- the other doctors that were suppose to be figuring out what happened, where are they?"

"We're celebrating, Shane. Don't need to do this now." Rick tells him sternly.

Shane gives Rick a look. "Whoa, wait a second. This is why we're here, right? This was your move- supposed to find all the answers. Instead we-" Shane chuckles and points to Jenner. "We found him. Found one man, why?"

Edwin breathes deeply. "Well, when things got bad, a lot of people just left, went off to be with their families. And when things got worse, when the military cordon got overrun, the rest bolted."

Shane narrows his eyes in disbelief. "Every last one?"

"No. Many couldn't face walking out the door. They... opted out. There was a rash of suicides. That was a bad time."

"You didn't leave. Why?" Andrea asks him.

"I just kept working, hoping to do some good." Jenner answers and Callie has a good look at him.

How long was he alone for?

"Dude, you're such a buzzkill, man." Glenn shakes his head at Shane who doesn't look remotely sorry about the situation.

"I think it's time for you guys to go to your rooms." Jenner says and stands. Everyone quickly follows him down a corridor.

"Most of the facility is powered down including housing so you'll have to make do here. The couches are comfortable, but there are cots in storage if you like. There's a rec room down the hall that you kids might enjoy. Just don't plug in the video games, okay? Or anything that draws power. The same applies-- if you shower, go easy on the hot water." Jenner explains before walking off.

Glenn turns to everyone amazed. "Hot water?" He breathes.

T-Dog grins. "That's what the man said."

"Right, everyone bunk. Then we can have some fun." Callie says and the group cheers.

Josie, Maya, and Connor go in one room. T-Dog and Jacqui in another. Amy and Andrea in one. Tabby and Callie. Rick, Lori, and Carl. Carol and Sophia. Jeremy and Glenn. Shane and Dale are bunking together. And Daryl is on his own.

Callie quickly hops in the shower and laughs in relief as the hot water pours on her. Washes all the blood, dirt and sweat down the drain.

She puts on a fresh pair of clothes and walks out.

"That was quick." Tabby comments and Callie nods.

"Didn't want to hog it. It's amazing being clean. Forgot what it was like." Callie responds and Tabby grins and runs in the shower like a maniac.

Callie joins Glenn, Daryl and T-Dog in the cafeteria, who were drinking from other bottles of wine and whiskey.

"Should we play truth or dare?" Glenn asks excitedly and Callie raises a brow.

"How old are you again, Glenn?" Callie jokes and T-Dog and Daryl laugh.

"I'm 23, Callie. Same as you." Glenn retorts and they clink their glasses.

"Alright. Truth or dare, Glenn?" T-Dog asks.

"Dare." Glenn smirks.

T-Dog gets up and raids a cupboard and grabs a shot glass and some vodka. Oh no. "I dare you to take a shot of vodka."

Glenn groans but does it anyway.

Callie was sipping her glass of whiskey, with just Daryl with her. T-Dog took away a stumbling Glenn back to their room, after having one too many drinks.

Well, they all kind of aimed their truth or dares at Glenn to get him to drink. Which was fun but turned boring in the end.

Callie looks at Daryl. "Do you know that I'm an orphan?" She blurts out and he looks at her. "Like I knew my parents." She scoffs. She never met her parents, never had the chance to, it's like they didn't want her.

Daryl raises a brow. "What do you mean?"

"I only knew who my real family was when I was 18 years old. Before I never knew. Before, I was on the system, got adopted by this old couple and they passed with the official documentation. The place that I lived was an orphanage and adoption centre, so kids could get another chance at a family. Never got adopted since then. Then at 18, I phoned my real family, they answered, and I was too scared to say hello and hang up the phone." She pauses. "Now, five years later, I've met them." Crazy for this world. Because now you would think you would never meet anyone from your past life.

Daryl just stares at her. "You met them? Now?" Disbelief was clear in his voice, he couldn't believe it. When you're an orphan, you know who your family are, but he guesses if you go to a

Callie laughs. "Yeah, if you could believe it. My name is Calissa. Calissa Grimes."

Dun dun dunnnnn. I wonder if you guys saw that coming. I didn't want to drag it out too long, but now it's out, who she is. I thought that this would be a nice bonding moment for her and Daryl. Maybe other people will know in the future. Please leave a review, I love when I get those!
