The World Championships
Chapter 65 Flight To North Carolina
It was nine 'o' clock in the morning when all the teams, both the competitors and spectators had cleared their rooms and were eating breakfast.
"Do you know if our flight to North Carolina is direct, Chief?"
"Unfortunately not, Tyson, we'll be stopping in Charlotte for an hour and five minutes before flying to Asheville."
"At least Charlotte's in North Carolina."
"I doubt it'll be a long layover."
"That's a relief."
"What airline are we going on, chief?"
"American Airlines, Tyson."
"Cool."
After breakfast, everyone cleared the restaurant and took their baggage to the taxi park. Everyone except Tala and Luna, they walked over with their arms round each other's waists.
"I can't believe we're out of the tournament."
"Well, Luna, you worked really hard to get so far."
"Yeah, Tala, it was sad to lose but it's been really fun."
"Glad you've enjoyed yourself."
"Especially now that you and I are a couple."
"Same here, Luna."
"I'll still stay and watch the last battles from the stands."
"That's good, I really enjoyed battling you."
"As I did you."
Before long, all the teams were boarding the taxis to go to Toronto Pearson International Airport. Tala and Luna reluctantly separated, Luna once again tearfully professed her love for Tala and he professed his love for her in return.
The G-Revolutions were sat in the taxi talking avidly about the finals.
"We've only got the semi finals left and if we win we'll be heading back home for our last battle."
"We're against the PPB All Starz next."
"That we are."
"No doubt they're itching for a match."
"Let's just hope we knock them out."
"I know right, Kai."
"Yes, Tyson, this next match is going to be absolutely crucial and losing isn't an option."
After a long drive, all twelve taxis arrived at Toronto Pearson International Airport. Aeroplanes roared overhead, taking off and landing simultaneously. A huge Air France Boeing 767 roared overhead, its noise drowned out the birdsong.
"That's a big plane."
"Who knows what plane we'll be going in?"
"An American Airlines Airbus A319 but then we'll change at Charlotte to an Embraer ERJ-145 ."
"Wow, that sounds like a big plane."
"The A319 only has two engines and the Embraer is much leaner."
The G-Revolutions disembarked the taxi and the driver helped with the baggage. Once they had their cases, they hauled and pulled them into the airport. Walking quickly, they surveyed the medley of airlines that were outside.
"We ought to take toilet breaks and then get to the departure lounge."
"Good idea, Tyson."
The G-Revolutions quickly made their way to the toilets, swiftly used them and then convened outside.
"American Airlines Flight 1730 is now boarding."
Upon hearing the announcement, the G-Revolutions swiftly made their way to the departure lounge before gradually walking into the tunnel to the plane. Once in the plane, they all sat down in their assigned seats.
"Good morning, everybody, and welcome to American Airlines Flight 1730 from Toronto to Asheville. We shall be flying for two hours and five minutes before laying over in Charlotte. We will be taking off very soon and you must fasten your seat belts. Please ensure all baggage is secured in the hold. Additionally, your seats and table trays are to be upright and all electronic devices must be switched off. Smoking is not allowed at any point during the flight. Thank you for choosing American Airlines. Enjoy your flight."
American Airlines Flight 1730 taxied down the runway and into the sky. Canada gradually began to fade away like images from a dream.
