Rewatching this show is so painful, especially seeing Maggie and Glenn first meeting each other. Also, I'm uploading this story onto Wattpad, same title, but my username on there is jez1456. There will be clips uploaded onto TikTok under the same username, so you can have a look. There is one uploaded already. But anyways, let's get started.
Disclaimer I don't own The Walking Dead just my ocs and plotlines.
Amy's POV
She was literally trying to fall asleep, but her damn sister was playing around with a gun not too far away from her. Carol was crying at the thought of Sophia out there all night on her own again. Daryl was laying on the floor of the RV like an animal, as usual. Jeremy was the only one sleeping, he was in the front of the RV, his head leaning against the window. His neck will be stiff tomorrow morning when he gets up.
She hear Daryl get up. "I'm gonna need my clip now. I'm gonna walk the road, look for the girl." Daryl says and Andrea hands him a clip and he leaves without saying anything else.
Andrea gets up and follows him, and Amy follows after them. She's not being left behind again.
"I'm going too." Andrea announces to Dale.
"I'm going for a walk. Shine some light in the forest. If she's out there, gives her something to look at." Daryl tells Dale.
"You think that's a good idea right now?" Dale calls to them.
"Dale." Andrea huffs and Amy snarls at the thought of Andrea being horrible to the man who has shown nothing but kindness. She's being a right bitch. She tried to leave her alone in this world and is now acting like a stuck up bitch and that it never happened.
"I'm coming too." Amy announces and wonders after them.
"No-" Andrea begins to disagree but Amy was not being treated like a child again. She's a grown ass adult.
"Not up for discussion." Amy snaps and follows after Daryl who looks like he wants to kill something or himself. Probably himself.
They've been walking for god knows how long, she ends up trailing behind Andrea and Daryl. Now and again, her sister would glare at her for 'disobeying' her order. The last time that she stayed behind, her sister was trapped in Atlanta. Then she was dragged away while her sister stayed behind to die.
"You really think that we're gonna find, Sophia?" Andrea finally speaks.
Daryl shines a light towards her face. "You got that look on your face, same as everybody else. What the hell's wrong with you people? We just started looking." Daryl mutters darkly and Amy is surprised at the man's words.
"Do you?" Amy presses and Daryl finally looks at her.
"It ain't the mountains of Tibet. It's Georgia. She could be holed up in a farmhouse somewhere. People get lost and they survive. Happens all the time."
Andrea pulls a face. "She's only 12."
"This one's different. She has an apocalypse facing her." Amy points out.
"It will make it harder. But she'll be fine. Hell, I was younger than her when I got lost." Daryl admits and Amy was surprised at that. "Nine days in the woods eating berries, wiping my ass with poison oak."
"They found you?" Andrea asks him, a little concerned at the fact that Daryl Dixon got lost. The hunter of the group.
It was silent for a moment before Daryl starts speaking. "My old man was off on a bender with some waitress. Merle was doing another stint in juvie. Didn't even know I was gone. I made my way back though. Went straight into the kitchen and made myself a sandwich. No worse for wear. Except my ass itched something awful."
Andrea snorts and Amy giggles at the fact. Daryl joins in.
"I'm sorry." Amy finally composed herself.
"I'm sorry, that's a terrible story." Andrea tells him.
"Only difference is Sophia's got people looking for her. I call that an advantage." Daryl says confidently and Amy couldn't believe that she was admitting to herself, but she was starting to admire him.
Tabby's POV
The group approaches the farm house with all the lights. She is gently escorting Josie up the porch steps. Followed by Maya and Summer trailing behind them.
"So do we ring the bell?" Glenn asks and Tabby gives him a look.
"Are you kidding me?" Summer hisses at him.
Glenn frowns. "It looks like people live here." He points out.
"No! I wouldn't think of that with the damn light on." Tabby sarcastically says and he winces.
"Please shut up." Josie mutters under her breath.
"We're past this kind of stuff, aren't we? Having to be considerate." T-Dog points out. Good point.
"Did you close the gate up the road when you drove in?" A voice asks and Summer curses.
"Fucking hell!"
Glenn hits her arm and looks kindly at the random girl in the dark, practically drooling in Tabby's eyes. "Uh, hi. Yes, we closed it. With the latch and everything. Hello, nice to see you again." He rambles and the girl looks at him amused. "We... uhm met before, briefly."
"Look..." T-Dog interrupts the ongoing embarrassment of Glenn just talking. "We came to help."
"Is there anything that we can do? I'm a doctor." Tabby tells the girl who perks up at that but gives Josie and T-Dog wary looks.
"It's not a bite, I cut myself up pretty bad though." T-Dog tells the girl, grimacing at the reminder of the pain. Maya holds his hand.
"Josie here has heat stroke." Tabby informs the girl who lets her guard down.
"We'll have it looked at. My dad could use your help. I'll also tell them that you're here." The girl says, opening the door and allowing them inside.
Glenn shakes a bottle of pills to get her attention and she gives him a look. "Sorry." He winces. "We have some painkillers and antibiotics. Tabby already gave him some. If Carl or Connor need any..." He trails off and the girl smiles at him.
"Come on inside. I'll make you something to eat."
"Where is he? Connor?" Josie asks the girl who gives her a look.
"She's his mother." Tabby answers immediately and the girl gives Josie a pitiful look.
"This way." She says and they follow her.
They first walk into Carl's room, where Callie, Rick and Lori were sitting with an old man, who was checking over Carl's pulse. And a blonde woman was sitting in a corner. Maya's eyes widened at the sight.
"Carl?" Her tiny voice breaks through the air and Summer escorts her out quickly. Lori looks ready to break at any second.
"Hey." Glenn calls gently and Rick rubs a tired hand along his face.
"Hey."
Glenn licks his lips before continuing. "Um, we're here, okay?"
"Thank you." Lori says gratefully.
"Whatever you need." T-Dog adds.
"I'm here for when he needs surgery." Tabby tells the couple and they nod gratefully. The old man turns and smiles warmly at her before going back to Carl.
They leave the room, and head into the room next door, where Connor was laying and his foot elevated on a pillow. Josie lets out a sob before sitting in the chair next to him.
"My baby. My baby." She whimpers, holding his hand tightly.
Tabby leaves her alone, followed by T-Dog and Glenn. Leaving the mother to be with her son. They walk into the kitchen, where four women were sitting with Maya, who is drinking a glass of milk.
"Where's my mom?" Maya asks, after realising that she wasn't with them.
"She's sitting with Connor. She uh... she needs some time alone." Glenn tells her and she nods her head.
"When can I see him?" Maya asks and Tabby knew she had to take the reigns on this one.
"When he wakes up, okay?" Tabby explains softly.
Callie's PoV
She walks out of the room when Rick and Lori talk outside, they need some time alone for a bit. She walks in a room where Noa is pouring a glass of orange juice.
Noa looks up to see her standing there.
"Hey." She smiles warmly at her. Callie just lifts up a small smile before sitting down in exhaustion. "You must be so stressed out, your people must rely heavily on you."
Callie looks at her at that in shock. "Oh no. I'm not the leader, Rick is."
"That's not how I see it." Noa smiles and looks towards the area where the others were. Callie sees T-Dog getting his arm prepped for stitching and Tabby was watching over him, with Maya sitting on the chair.
Callie didn't know how to feel about that. Being the leader. It seems chaotic, or not right. She hears Carl coughing and leaps from the chair and runs into the room, following behind Rick and Lori. She could feel the others' eyes on her as she left.
"Where... where are we?" Carl asks confused, looking around the unfamiliar walls. Hershel is standing off to the side to give the boy a couple of minutes with his parents.
"Hey, little man. That's Hershel." Rick points to the man and Carl looks at him briefly. "We're in this house. You had an accident."
"Alright?" Lori chokes on a sob. Glad to see her son awake.
Carl winces. "It hurts, a lot."
Lori takes his hand. "Oh baby, I know."
Carl looks at his mother. Callie smiles at Hershel, who's looking at the scene before them. "You should have seen it."
"What?"
"The deer. It was so pretty, mom. It was so close. Me and Callie were right there. I've never been..." Carl stops talking and they all look at him worriedly.
"Carl?" Rick calls for his attention, his voice cracking.
"Hey." Callie calls softly, hoping the boy just passed out, and not dying right then and there.
Lori looks at Hershel. "What is happening?"
Carl starts to seize and Callie steps away for a moment. Lori gasps and tries to grab him.
"Don't." Hershel snaps and Lori flinches away. "It's a seizure. If you hold him down, you could hurt him."
"You can't stop it?" Lori screeches.
"He just has to go through it." Hershel mutters and Lori cries and Rick cradles her. Carl stops moving and Hershel immediately looks at his pupils. "His brain isn't getting enough blood. His pressure is bottoming. He needs another transfusion."
Rick nods his head and is already planting himself in a chair. "Okay, I'm ready."
Hershel shakes his head. "If I take any more out of you, your body could shut down. You could slip into a coma. Or cardiac arrest."
"You're wasting time." Rick cries.
"I'll do it." Callie announces and they look at her. "You've done enough." She tells Rick who nods gratefully and quickly stands up. Callie sits down and Hershel prepares her arm for the transfusion.
She relaxes her arm as Hershel inserts the needle and she looks worriedly at Carl, then her eyes locked onto Rick and Lori hugging, but her eyes connect with Rick's and they shared a worried look. But what she didn't know was that Rick saw her looking worriedly at Carl. He is already suspicious why she cares so much about a boy that isn't hers.
Time to stop there! I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Soon we'll have everyone at the farm and it'll be easier to keep track of the characters.
