Just been binge watching Season 4 and 5, wow, I forgot how tough it was with Beth and Tyreese's death back to back, also Bob's death not long before. God, I forgot how much Sasha and Maggie have been through.

Disclaimer I don't own The Walking Dead, just my ocs and plotlines.

Callie's POV

Daryl, herself, and Jeremy were on their way out when Rick called out to them.

"How long you gonna be out there for?"

"We'll be back before dark." Daryl answers him.

"We've got a base now. We can get this search properly organised now." Rick explains.

Callie gives him a look. Jeremy looks at Rick quizzically, they just talked about this around the truck. Why is he bringing this up again?

"You got a point or are we just chatting?" Daryl asks him. He's definitely getting fed up at this point.

"My point is it lets you off the hook. You all don't owe us anything." Rick gets to the point fast. Daryl goes silent for a moment, not expecting that.

"My other plans fell through." Daryl just days before walking off.

Jeremy and Callie follow after him.

Rick is a good man.

They head out into the woods, looking for Sophia, but have a detour to go first.

"Where are we going?" Callie asks the two men, one who is stepping very loud, the other silent.

"You'll see." Daryl says.

Tabby's POV

Her and Glenn finally managed to put the tent up, Summer and Amy were too busy laughing to help.

"Finally done it." Amy claps and Summer cheers. Lori is laughing at the state of them.

Tabby pulls a face. "Very funny."

Maya was sitting next to Lori, finally out of the house away from Connor and Carl, to give them some rest. But to also not stress her out, Josie asked Lori to keep an eye out for her. Shane was finishing up the camp fire ready, it is not lit, but ready for the evening for dinner.

Dale and T-Dog approach the group.

"There's a walker in the well." Dale announces and Shane looks ready to explode.

The group follows Dale to the well, including Maggie and Noa.

Dale looks down and Tabby follows his sight, to a huge walker just milling about.

"Looks like we've got us a swimmer." Dale comments and Tabby grimaces at the sight of it. It looked so... moist. She almost hurls at the sight of it. It looks disgusting.

"How long do you think it's been down there?" Lori asks the group and Tabby doesn't want to think about that. If this was the main well, then the whole Greene family would have gotten sick from the water.

"Long enough to grow gills." Andrea points out, a disgusted look in her face.

"It looks disgusting." Amy gags and the group nods in agreement.

"We can't leave it in there. God knows what it's doing to the water." Lori says and Tabby has to disagree with that.

Tabby shakes her head. "We should block it off, it's probably already contaminated."

"We've got to get it out." T-Dog announces and they look at him.

"How?" Summer asks, taking a look at the big walker. "Imagine lifting that thing out, that's a lot of dead weight."

"Easy. Put a bullet in its head." Lori says.

Tabby has to restrain herself from rolling her eyes. She was so dramatic all the time, also bringing up plans without thinking them through.

"I'll get a rope." Glenn announces.

Maggie looks sick. "Whoa, whoa, guys. No."

Glenn gives her a look. "Why not? It's a good plan."

"It's a stupid plan." Amy says.

Andrea nods her head in agreement. "If that thing hasn't contaminated the water yet, blowing its brains out will finish the job."

"She's right." Shane speaks up. "We can't risk it."

T-Dog looks at everyone. "So it has to come out alive?"

"So to speak." Dale puts in.

"How do we do that?" Noa asks, finally asking. She looks down in pity at the walker. Why was she looking at in pity? Noa perks up. "I've got an idea." She says before running off towards the house.

It wasn't long before she comes back with a can. What on Earth?

Noa opens the can and Andrea ties some rope around it. Fucking ham.

Dale lowers the ham down to the walker. It looks at it for a moment before continuing going in circles.

"It looks bored." Tabby comments and Summer snorts.

"Give it a second." Lori argues.

Dale pulls a face. "He's not going for it."

T-Dog rolls his eyes. "Maybe 'cause a canned ham don't kick and scream when you try to eat it."

"He's right. There's a reason the dead didn't come back to life and start raiding our cupboards." Lori points out. Ah, so that second changed her mind.

"Would have been an easier apocalypse." Summer laughs and Tabby gives her a look.

"We need live bait." Andrea says and Tabby saw everyone look at Glenn. Glenn pulls a face.

"Great."

"I'll do it." Tabby announces and they look at her surprised. "Lower me down the well."

She was not having her best friend be lowered down that hell hole. He's always the bait. This time it'll be her.

Callie's POV

They approach a clearing when they stop.

"Here." Daryl says and points to a bear trap, closed, covered in blood.

"Is this..." Callie trails off and they both nod grimly.

She knew Hershel wouldn't have traps laying around his land. Plus it was unlawful in Georgia to have traps near any public road or highway, which in this case was illegal. Otis was the one hunting, so why would they have bear traps nearby?

"What are you thinking about?" Jeremy asks her.

Callie purses her lips for a moment before looking at the pair. Daryl was watching her intently. "Hershel doesn't have bear traps."

"So?" Jeremy scrutinises.

"Otis did the hunting." Callie reminds them and Daryl nods his head. "That means we have people nearby. A camp." Callie finally says and Jeremy curses.

They could be a threat.

"We need to tell Rick." Jeremy points out and Callie nods in agreement.

"Once we get back." Daryl urges before walking off. The pair follow him. Let's go find Sophia.

Tabby's POV

Shane ties a rope around her.

"Have I mentioned that I really like your new haircut? You have a nice shaped head." Glenn rambles.

Shane smiles. "Don't worry about it, bud. We're gonna get your girlfriend out of here in one piece."

"Living piece." Glenn corrects. "The living part is important." He goes silent for a moment. "She's not my girlfriend."

"God no. He's my best friend." Tabby puts in and Shane chuckles at the pair.

"Callie won't like this." Tabby reminds Shane who rolls his eyes. Lori looks pissed at the name.

"She ain't here, is she?" Shane snaps and Tabby looks at him wide eyed for a moment before looking down the well, while she was sitting on the edge.

Glenn sits on the edge. "Nice and slow, please."

Dale taps her back reassuringly. "We got you."

Well I hope so, otherwise I'd be dead and you'd have two walkers in the well.

Everyone grabs onto the rope apart from Noa and Maggie.

"Oh, you people are crazy." Maggie insists.

"You want it out of your well or not?" Shane retorts back.

"Give us an eye there, Maggie." Dale orders and she nods begrudgingly.

Tabby sees Glenn grabs a hold of the rope tightly and they all feed the rope forward. She starts the descent down to hell. That's what it feels like to her.

"Doing okay?" Maggie calls down to her when she descends.

"Yup, doing great!" Tabby tells her. Trying to be optimistic about her odds. But who is she kidding. She's dead. I'm gonna die in a well.

"Little lower. Little more." Maggie urges everyone.

Tabby hears a snap and looks up, seeing Maggie and Noa peering down. She looks back at the walker when she was suddenly hurdling down, getting closer to the walker who is reaching for her. She screams out.

"What the fuck is going on?!" She cries and grabs a hold of the rope in an attempt to save her life.

"Get it! Get it!" Lori screams out.

"Get her out of there!" Tabby hears Glenn scream.

She jolts to a stop and manages to quickly get the rope around the walker.

"Get me out of here!" She screams. She feels the walkers hands grab her feet and she kicks it off. "Guys!" She cries. The walker is getting aggressive, snarling at her. A meal was literally laid out in front of it.

She is hoisted up and kicks the walker away. She is swinging as the light gets closer. Hurry. Hurry. She is quickly back onto land and everyone surrounds her in worry.

"Are you okay?" Amy asks, checking her over for any bites.

She nods, panting. "Ye-yeah." Her voice shakes.

Glenn is panting, but looks relieved.

"Back to the drawing board." Dale says grimly.

Tabby smirks at him and hands him the rope. "Says you." She walks a little bit away. Just to get away from the well.

Dale feels a weight to it and everyone looks down the well to see the rope attached to the walker.

Everyone grabs the rope and starts pulling. T-Dog was the only one not pulling. "Come on, guys, pull."

"Come on, y'all." Shane orders and they start tugging.

It was a hell of a weight. Dead weight gets very heavy quick.

"Almost there. Come on, y'all." T-Dog urges. He is the one with a crowbar, ready to kill the walker once it's up.

"Come on." Tabby grits out, tugging at the rope.

"Almost there. Come on, pull. Keep it coming." T-Dog says.

"Come on, pull. Watch out, dawg." Shane warns T who is by the well.

"Come on, almost there." He says and Tabby could see the head of the walker coming out of the well, then the body but it gets stuck on the ledge.

"T, pull it out!" Tabby urges.

"You've got to pull it." Shane agrees as they struggle with the rope. At this point, it was burning her hands.

"Pull!" Lori urges them they all fall over.

Tabby looks to the well where there is only half the body. You've got to be kidding me. I've done all that for nothing. Risked my life for nothing.

They all walk towards the well, and the smell nearly made Tabby be sick. Oh god, that's horrible.

"We should seal off this well." Lori says and Tabby gives her a look. This is what she said at the start of all this.

"Yeah, might be a good idea." Dale mutters under his breath.

Andrea sighs and looks at the walker still trying to reach at them. "So what do we do about-

T-Dog answers by killing the walker, beating its head in with a crowbar. "Good thing we didn't do anything stupid like shoot it." He spats before discharging the crowbar and walking away.

It goes silent and they all stare at the walker in shock. Noa and Maggie had to walk off due to not being used to it.

"That's one way to do it." Summer mutters and Amy hits her shoulder. "Ow!"

"Shut up." Amy hisses and drags her away.

Andrea and Shane go back to camp. Glenn follows after Maggie ready to go on his run.

"Should we drop it down the well?" Amy asks and they look at her.

"Since it's gonna be sealed, might as well." Dale shrugs. Dale and Amy grabs the arms and hoist it down and it drops into the gutsy water with a huge splash.

"I'll never get used to it." Amy gags and Dale smiles at her.

"The smell?" He asks and she nods. "Me neither."

I thought a nice little chapter will be fun again. Amy and Dale bonding is my favourite thing, I wish we saw it more in season 1 before she died. Wanted to create some chaos as well by having them figure out a group of people are nearby due to the bear traps. Don't worry, they won't show up. Yet. It'll be picking up the pace soon, especially with the Secrets episode coming up. Anyways, let me know what you think by showing some love!
