We are back! I've been writing all my chapters on my weekend off just to pass the time. But now, it's going up on my four day weekend of work.
Disclaimer I don't own The Walking Dead, just my ocs and plotlines.
Glenn's POV
Him and Maggie are riding into town in silence. And he hates it. She doesn't like him.
"You know, normally this is the kind of thing I'd do on my own." He finally talks. "Solo." He adds and laughs lightly. "It's sort of my thing, you know? I'm a loner."
Maggie just stays silent. Great job, Glenn. Scare off the one girl you like.
"You all right?" Glenn asks her.
"I'm fine."
Okay, that's good. Two words. Well done. "I saw the look on your face back at the well. Never seen one killed up close before?" He asks her but she stays silent. He would take that as a yes then. "Guess it's kind of a shock. You know, being out on the road, we've seen a lot. Guess we've gotten a little numb to it." He mutters to himself.
"Whoa." Maggie says and pulls the horse to a stop. "I guess so."
Glenn gets off his horse and Maggie ties it up before they go into the pharmacy.
"I'll go see what antibiotics are left." Maggie announces to him before she looks at him curiously. "What else is on the list?"
Glenn recalls the moment that Lori said private and keep it on the down low. "Uh... why don't you get started?"
Maggie gives him a weird look. "What about you?"
Think, Glenn, think. "I'm gonna look around, see what's worth grabbing. Just some general stuff." He rambles. Maggie smirks before walking away.
Glenn goes to look for the clear blue label. He sees something similar and grabs it. Clear blue. A pregnancy test?! Oh my god. Oh my god. Lori's pregnant.
"What do you got?" Maggie's voice breaks him out of a mental breakdown and he panics, quickly hiding the test in his bag.
"Uh... um." He quickly grabs another box and turns to her. "Nothing. Just, like I said, general stuff." He gestures wildly.
Maggie looks at him amused. "Condoms?"
What? Glenn looks down at the box and sure enough, his dumb stupid luck, it was condoms.
"You got a girlfriend I don't know about?" Maggie asks him. "Tabby perhaps?"
"Me and Tabby? No. No. She's like... my best friend." Glenn stammers. The thought almost made him hurl. He couldn't do that with Tabby. It would be gross. They're just a bunch of nerds with too much in common to establish something sexual.
She looks at him impressed. "Then you're a pretty confident guy?"
What? Realisation hits him. Oh god she thinks I'm hitting on her. I mean, I am, but not outright. I'm just admiring her from afar. "No! No, no, no, I wasn't... I would never-
Maggie looks offended for a second. "Something wrong with me?"
Oh god. "No." Glenn winces. "No, I..." he chuckles nervously at his dumb mouth. "I would never have sex..." he trails off. "Uh, I'm... I'm lost." He finally gets out and Maggie stands there in silence for a moment.
"I'll have sex with you."
A beat passes between them. What the fuck?
"Really? Why?" He finally asks her.
"You're asking questions?" Maggie points out, dropping her bag on the floor.
Not good enough. I mean, it was good. But I need a reason to do this. But I'm gonna faint.
"Okay, I can't help wondering. It's not like our options are vast these days." She puts her hat on the floor and takes off her top. Look up. "And you're not the only one that's lonely." He looks at her at that. My loner speech is getting me laid, my god.
She finally takes off her bra. Holy fuck. She's gorgeous.
"Wow." He breathes out. Why am I acting like a horny teenager? I'm 22 for crying out loud.
She goes closer to Glenn, and it felt like a bunch of magnets were drawing them together, like they were made for each other. Stop that, it's creepy. And finally her lips touched his and it felt like sparks. I'm hard.
Harriet's POV
At the start
Harriett comes home from school a lot earlier than normal. Hardly anyone turned up due to the sickness going around, and her and her 15 year old sister, Daisy, were sent home. Her brother, Damien, was 22, he was in University of Georgia studying architecturein Athens. While their other brother, Richie, was working for living, trying to afford college. They lived in Covington. That's when she noticed her dad in the kitchen. Her dad was at home early. Too early.
"Dad?" She calls to him.
"Hey." He smiles sadly and gestures to the chair. "Sit down. I need to talk to both of ya."
She sits down. "Something's happened to mom. She was in a car accident. She's in Grady Memorial in Atlanta."
Harriet sobs and he cuddles his daughter tightly. "Is she okay?"
"Hopefully."
Daisy cries on her father's other side and he cradles them both.
She looks towards the tv that was on and sees a shooting in Los Angeles. "Oh my god." She gasps when the woman falls to the floor.
Her father follows her sight to the tv and grips her tightly. It quickly changes over to a man, in a suit, looking very serious.
"This is the emergency broadcast channel. If you're listening to this, please pack everything you need and head to the nearest refugee centers. Please listen to the following; Atlanta, Washington D.C, New York, Indianapolis, Chicago, and Tallahassee. Please remain calm, help is on the way."
Her and her father look at each other worriedly. "Is this about the sickness going around?"
Her father nods. "We're going to get Damien and Richie. Then get mom. Pack only what you need."
A tear falls down her face due to the memory. They never made it to Atlanta. They heard that it was napalmed by a group coming from there. That night, her father wasn't the same as before. He screamed, he wailed, then he fell silent. Then he became cold. But he stayed strong for herself and her brother. They managed to get him. It was starting to get bad at Athens, he had blood all over him and was pretty shaken up. He told her that one of his roommates came back to life after being bit. He had to kill him. He hated himself for it but has gotten over it recently. It's been a couple of months now, no sign of the 'help' that was promised, they were on their own.
She heard screams and looked to see her best friend getting bit on the neck.
"Get to safety!" Her dad barks at her and her brothers and they quickly left. She hears her dad cry out and looks back.
"Dad!" She screams seeing her dad getting ripped apart by the freaks. I shouldn't have looked back.
"Harri! Come on!" Damien grabs her hand and they run into the woods, the screams getting quieter as they ran. Daisy and Richie were with them as well, Damien was gripping her hand hard. Richie was following at a fast pace behind.
Their group was getting killed by the dead as they ran. They had no supplies, just three weapons between the four of them and the clothes on their back. They only heard the snarls before it went quiet. Deadly quiet. There was no sound apart from their breathing and their feet pounding on the floor as they run away from where they belonged. Now they're on their own. Four kids against the world.
They've been running all night and day, when they came across a town. Was it Fairburn? She was dehydrated, hungry, and plain exhausted.
"We can gather some supplies here, and rest for a couple of days." Damo finally speaks, and she could tell his voice was hurting him. They haven't spoke in a while, plus with no food and water. They may as well be the freaks as this point.
"There should be something here, right?" Daisy asks, looking at Damo with slight hope. It was killing him inside now that he is in charge, ever since dad died. They haven't grieved at all. Well, herself and Scarlett have when they've been running. Now her eyes were sore from crying so much.
"Hopefully. It shouldn't be picked clean." Richie says, keeping Daisy's hopes up.
That's when they hear a noise and they are immediately on alert, but they see two horses tied up in front of the pharmacy. They looked well fed, clean.
Would you look at that? People. They can shelter, food, water.
Glenn's POV
He watched Maggie put her bra on when they heard the door swing open. Oh dear god.
"Oh my god." A woman squeals and turns around.
"What is it?" A guy asks and immediately slaps his hand on his eyes. The girl covers another girl's eyes immediately.
"Oh my god!" Maggie shouts and covers herself.
"I'm sorry!" A guy exclaims and turns around, his face going beet red.
"Fuck!" Glenn curses and quickly covers himself. "Who are you?" Glenn asks nervously.
"I'll answer once you get dressed." The guy tells them before the two guys escort the two women he was with to the other side of the pharmacy.
Why didn't you lock the door, Glenn?
After him and Maggie are dressed, they finally look at the four that are there.
"Uh... who are you?" He asks them nervously.
"I'm Damien, this is my brother Richie, and my two sisters Harriett and Daisy." He points them out and Glenn awkwardly waves at them.
The girl, Daisy, who has dark brown hair and green eyes smiles warmly back at him. They were all dirty, and worn out. Harriett had long deep brown hair, and hazel eyes. While the boys had brown hair with brown eyes. Definitely siblings.
"Do you have a camp?" Daisy asks him, hope in her eyes.
"Uh..." He trails off and looks at Maggie.
"Yeah. We do. Are you alone?" Maggie asks, looking at them suspiciously.
Harriet nods her head. "Yeah. We lost our camp not too long ago. We've been running since." She explains, but she must of saw his sceptical look. "Please. I need to protect my family."
They share a look.
Well, Shane's not gonna like this.
Thought I'd leave it there. These are gonna be my final ocs for a while. I'm still working out their full storyline, but the whole base is there. Just working out details. Hopefully you guys enjoyed this chapter.
