Harry woke up the next Sunday, knowing that today was finally the day. Part of him still couldn't believe that he was going on a date with Draco Malfoy. They had been enemies for 5 years and suddenly they had a chance to reconcile, and even possibly become something more.
After a few minutes of spacing, Harry got up, put on one of his winter outfits, he also put on the scarf he got for Christmas since it was around 3C (37.4 F) outside and he still had the suspicion that it was from Draco, and went to join Ron and Hermione in the Great hall.
"Hey, mate" Ron said as he arrived at the Gryffindor table.
"Hey," Harry responded, sitting down next to his friends.
"So, are you excited for tonight?" Hermione said teasingly, Harry rolled his eyes in response.
Harry, indeed, was excited but also nervous. He was happy he could finally have someone, but his memory went to the disaster with Cho Chang just a few months earlier, and was scared that something similar might happen.
As he spaced, Harry noticed Draco staring at him but Draco tried to play it off when he noticed him looking.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione went to Hogsmead, and as much as Harry tried to have fun with his friends, the butterflies in his stomach made it extremely hard to think about anything but Draco. The longer he thought about him, the quicker time went by, and before Harry knew it it was already 5:00 pm.
Harry went to the Hogshead to find Draco already there, waiting for him. He was wearing a black turtleneck sweater and a Slytherin colored scarf. Harry walked over to him, the butterflies squirming aggressively in his stomach.
"Hey," Harry said as he arrived next to Draco, making eye contact with him.
"Hey," Draco replied, noticing the scarf Harry was wearing.
As they walked into the Hogshead, they both tried to keep low; They knew if this got out it wouldn't be good for either of them.
The date went well. They found out that they had very similar interests, and they started to be less awkward with each other. They talked for hours and before they knew it, it was already 8pm and they decided that it would be best to head back to their common rooms.
As they left they noticed that it was snowing and they decided they could go have one last stroll before turning in. That stroll turned into a snowball fight between the two, that snowball fight went on for at least 30 minutes. After they had been worn down by the cold and laughter, they
got back up and looked each other in the eye. As the emerald and silver eyes locked, they felt feelings for the other crazier than before, and before they knew it their lips were touching. It felt magical, but not the normal magic they were used to, it just felt right. All the negative they had known about the other for the years prior disintegrated into nothingness. It was perfect.
But unfortunately for them, that perfect wouldn't last long as one specific little beetle was watching them.
