The landing was rough. Torah, Fasha, Borgos, and Shugesh clenched the arms of their seat as the ship stuttered to a halt on the ground, and unbuckled themselves. Getting to their feet they start towards the platform that was the entrance to the ship.
With Bardock taking the lead, they all descended to the platform. The Slayer jumped onto the dark yellow ground and looked around.
Vampa had a surface that consists of a yellow sky and rocky wastelands as far as the eye can see. The ground is littered with massive craters, some filled with green pools of liquid, while others lay empty.
Shugesh surveyed the area, crossing his arms. "So this is where Paragus has been hanging out, huh?"
Torah stepped up to Shugesh's side looking around.
"Looks like it." His voice trailed off for a moment as his eyes landed on a ship in the distance. "That must be his ship."
They all walked over to the ship. As Bardock approached he noticed the holes burned through the roof, likely by whatever creatures attacked the ship. His eyes slightly narrowed.
"These wounds were made by a beast of unknown origin." Bardock murmured, stroking the cool metal of the ship.
Torah studied the damaged ship. "Judging by how beat up it looks, I can say that whatever attacked it must've been big."
Fasha stand to Torah's side, her hands on her hips. "Well, the sooner we find him, the sooner we can get off this lifeless rock."
"Hey!"
Everyone snapped their heads toward the source of the voice. On their knees breathing heavily was a tall and well-muscled old Saiyan.
He had noticeable wrinkles with slightly darker skin and long gray hair while sporting a full beard, and a long scar running down his left eye. He wore a standard black Saiyan armor with small yellow shoulder-padding and midsection. He also wore a blue legless bottom, white gloves, white boots with yellow tips, long white cape with a big collar around his neck, and tail drape loosely around his waist.
Bardock blinked, recognizing the old Saiyan. Bardock and his teammates came to Paragus side and helped him up to stand.
"Long time no see old man." Bardock spoke first, smiling.
Paragus turned to Bardock, his eyes widening. "Bardock..?"
Bardock nodded his head, "Yeah, me, remember?"
Paragus slowly nodded his head. "I do…"
Paragus looked at the group standing in front of him. Bardock and his teammates backed up, allowing Paragus to stand on his own two feet. 'What a reunion..' he thought to himself. It felt like he hadn't seen them since he left Planet Vegeta.
He turned his attention back to Bardock. He chuckled. "I never thought I see the day where we would meet again like this. You've grown into quite a fine man, Bardock."
Bardock smiled broadly. "And you've grown old and grey." He motioned to Paragus's outfit. "Looks like you still haven't changed much."
Paragus let out another chuckle. "Oh Bardock, I have not."
Shugesh stood next to Barrock. He stroked his chin with one hand. "So you're Paragus, huh. So you're the one who made that distress signal?"
Paragus nodded. "Yes, that was me. My spaceship was damaged years ago. I'd almost given up hope that we'd ever make it off this cursed planet. But finally, someone has come for us."
"Yeah, which reminds me," Bardock said turning towards Paragus. "You mentioned in your last transmission that you had a son. Is he around here?"
Paragus nodded. "Yes, he is." He looked beyond the rocky wastelands. "He's probably out there eating his afternoon lunch so I'll…" His eyes trailed past Bardock and his teammates to the Slayer. "Bardock… Who is he?"
Bardock turned his gaze towards the Slayer. He smiled with pride. "That's the man who saved my life and the savior of Planet Vegeta."
Fasha stepped up next to Bardock, nodding towards the Slayer. "He's the first ever fighter to go toe-to-toe with Frieza and defeat him." She smirked at the Slayer. Paragus's eyes widened at this statement, his eyebrows raising.
"He…He defeated Frieza?!" Paragus's jaw nearly dropped open.
Torah smiled proudly. "He sure did."
Shugesh triumphantly grinned. "He didn't just defeat him, he killed him!"
Paragus was at a loss for words. Frieza is dead? And this armored stranger defeated him? No. How could this be possible? Frieza's power was beyond anything Paragus could even imagine. Each of his transformations doubles his stamina and strength that makes anyone's power like an anthill next to a mountain.
Yet despite this, Paragus cannot help but feel his heart swell. To think that this warrior, this man who had taken on the toughest tyrant of the galaxy, managed to overcome such an enemy and kill him at that. Paragus was truly astonished.
"Bit of a heads up though," Bardock added, narrowing his eyes at Paragus. "He's kinda quiet and has a raging temper when you piss him off. So for your sake, try to avoid angering him."
Paragus nodded hastily. "Of course." His eyes wandered towards the Slayer once more. "What's his name?"
Bardock crossed his arms. "We don't know his name but only the title he goes by: Doom Slayer."
Paragus nodded his head. Doom Slayer. It sounded ancient, mystical and powerful. If he was able to face down Frieza without breaking a sweat then he certainly must be strong, worthy to be Planet Vegeta's savior. Maybe even…
Suddenly, everyone's Scouters came to life when a voice called out from their devices. "Bardock. Bardock can you hear me!"
Bardock quickly answered his com. "Gine? What's wrong?"
A loud bang was heard coming from Gine's end. "Trouble! King Cold and Cooler are here and their troops are already—"
The com went silent.
"Gine? Gine!" Bardock shouted into his com. Silence followed. Bardock clenched his fist, cursing under his breath. "Damn it." He glanced at his team members, and Paragus. "You all got that right?"
Torah's expression was grim. "I'd say so."
Paragus's eyes narrowed. "King Cold and Cooler. Hmm… I haven't seen Cooler since I was a child. If I'm correct, Frieza's brother is even more of a monster in strength and speed then he is." He cupped his chin in thought. "Fighting those two is out of the question, they'll wipe us out in an instant if we try. Even if we gather up with all the Saiyans on our side we may not win." He rubbed his jaw. "But with the Slayer and my son we might still have a chance against them."
Borgos raised a brow in confusion. "Wait, what do you mean with your son?"
"Yeah, I'm with Borgos," Fasha agreed. "What do you mean by that? How strong is your son exactly?"
Paragus let out a humorless laugh. "His power is greater than mine, or at least as great as the average Saiyan's powers. I have no doubt he'll defeat either of the two."
Paragus rolled his body around. Looking up to the yellow sky he inhaled deeply through his nose, then exhaling sharply through his mouth. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath and shouted out to the heavens.
"Broly!"
A sudden whistle of the wind was heard in the distance. It grew louder and louder until it became an overwhelming blast that shook everything around them. The ground began vibrating violently. Rocks and dust blew from the nearby mountains, some were sent flying up into the air before landing back onto the plain. A giant thud shook the ground.
The entire group turned toward the source of the sound. All eyes fell on a small yet muscular young man who was bare chested with nothing but an attire consisting of blue skin-tight pants with white boots that have a yellow striping at the toes. He also wears a green fur pelt draped around his waist and flows on the backside. A noticeable steel collar wrapped around his neck, wearing blue wristbands and his tail hanging out.
His skin was tanner than normal, his hair reached down to his upper back and was overgrown and spiky. He had a scar across his left cheek, left bicep, and an "X"-shaped scar on his left pectoral reaching over his left shoulder and two smaller ones on the upper-left of his abdomen, which is his most notable feature.
He slowly stood up from his one-knee position. His arms were spread out as if he was preparing himself for whatever battle may await him now that he was standing upright on his feet. He glanced over towards the group, catching sight of Bardock.
Everyone except Paragus and the Slayer's eyes widened upon seeing him for the first time. Their Scouters beeping. Dialing in the units of the young Saiyan's battle power. The screen lit up with yellow numbers displayed on it.
25,000...
26,000...
27,000...
28,000...
29,000...
The readings climbed higher and higher, causing Fasha to stumble back as the emerald lens shattered, shortly before exploding on her head. Shugesh followed her also, as his readings halted at a much higher count than before.
"3-30,000?!" Shugesh gasped, staring wide eyed at his screen.
Paragus walked up beside Broly, placing his hand on his shoulder, looking back at Bardock, his teammates, and the Slayer. "Everyone, this is Broly. My son." He glanced at Broly. "And with his help, he'll be the second key to our victory."
An ocean crowd of Saiyans gathered along the helipad where the massive ship was parked. Many of them were scared; some worried while others were terrified. They stared at the enormous spaceship, awaiting a sign from the crew.
The platform slowly lowered itself onto the metal roof.
A deep familiar voice came out from inside the ship.
"Hmm… I never thought I would return here again."
Descending from the platform, two tall beings emerged from the ship. King Cold and his son, Cooler.
The King's skin was purple, so was the gem on his head, the armor on his wrists was white. He wore a red cape and black battle armor with yellow sections. His height is inconsistent, at his smallest. His height is similar to that of second form Frieza, while at his largest he ranks among the tallest. His physical appearance is very similar to his sons', looking nearly identical to Frieza in his second form, with the exception of him being even more muscular, and possessing horns with lines on them.
Cooler's appearance is similar to that of his brother's Final Form, though his skin is deep purple as opposed to the pure white of his brother. He is also much taller than Frieza. Along with this, Cooler has a distinctively more masculine appearance, who is leaner built. He also sports several armor-like carapaces on his chest, shoulders, shins, and head.
Following behind the two were Cooler's squad.
A turquoise humanoid alien followed next to Cooler's side. They had short blond hair that is curled to the left. He wears the same upper body armor as his comrades, and he dons a full-length bodysuit that is purple in color. Being of the Brench-seijin, he has several similarities in appearance to his cousin Jeice.
Behind the turquoise alien, came a large, green-skinned humanoid alien with long black hair reaching down his lower back. He wears the same upper body armor as his comrades, a white helmet with a brown center, and is equipped with a yellow Scouter. He didn't wear any lower body armor, save for purple underwear.
Finally, following behind the last alien, was a tall, brown reptilian humanoid. He had big yellow eyes, pointy ears, wearing similar upper body armor as his comrades, and a partial purple jumpsuit that covers his torso to his thighs. He wears a blue scouter that is connected to a head strap.
King Cold and Cooler walked towards the crowd of Saiyans with a smile plastered on Cold's face while Cooler's eyes narrowed. The Saiyans stepped forward for them to approach.
Cooler shook his head. "This is such a waste of time; I don't even know why you bothered bringing me here father."
Cold chuckled, shaking his head. "Now, now, no need to be so negative. We're only here to see how your brother is doing."
Cooler grunted, crossing his arms. "So it seems. May I remind you that me and Frieza don't get along well. So why bother going through this effort?"
King Cold's lips twitched slightly upwards. "Why wouldn't we go through the trouble of coming together just to check in on one of our own. Besides, I haven't heard from your brother for two days now. Which is still an oddity." He looked past the crowd of Saiyans. "I just need to be sure that my doubts are allayed."
Cooler closed his eyes and sighed. "Fine. The sooner we check if my arrogant of a brother is fine and well, the sooner we can leave this rock."
King Cold looks to the crowd, seeing a familiar figure dodging through the mass of Saiyans. "Ah, it's been a long time yet again, King Vegeta."
King Vegeta stopped in front of King Cold as the crowd parted for him. Focusing his eyes on the king, he extended his hand towards King Cold.
"It's an honor to have you here again, Great King Cold."
King Cold scoffed softly. "Normally I wouldn't come here for a mere greeting, so I won't take your time for too long and just get straight to our true business. I haven't heard a word from Frieza in the last few days and I've grown a bit concerned." He paused. "Could you happen to know of Frieza's whereabouts?"
Vegeta shook his head. "No, I cannot tell you for certain where Frieza is. If I'd known I would've told you."
King Cold raised a brow. "So he just left without saying a word? Hmm… that sounds very much unlike my son."
Cooler nodded in agreement. "I agree, sounds rather peculiar indeed." He narrows his eyes at King Vegeta. "And you don't sound sincere with your answer, King Vegeta. I don't like liars and liars are something I despise. You seem to be hiding something from both me, and my father."
King Cold folded his arms, looking sternly into King Vegeta's eyes. "You should be cautious when talking about things like these, Vegeta." His tone darkened. "We could find ourselves fighting against each other soon enough. I would hate for you to lose against someone like myself or my son because of your carelessness.." He paused. "King Vegeta, I'm going to ask you a question and I want a sincere answer." He reached his hand out to grasp King Vegeta's head. He squeezed it. "Do you or do you not know where my son is? Yes…or no?"
King Vegeta growled, attempting to push away. But to no avail.
"Well?"
King cold clenched his grasps tighter.
"Your son is dead!"
Gine dodges through the mass of Saiyans, pushing her way out of the group. As she reaches the helipad, her legs wobble under her as she tries to stay standing. After catching her breath, she turns her attention to King Cold. She took a step forward.
"He was slain by the savior of our planet!" She shouted, masking her fear, trying to remain strong.
King Cold tightened his grip on King Vegeta's head. "Killed you say?"
Cooler chuckled darkly. "I'm not surprised. It was only a matter of time before his arrogance got the better of him." He laughed. "I always knew he would've been killed by these Saiyans one day."
"He wasn't killed by a Saiyan." Gine stated.
Cold's grip loosened as he gazed at Gine.
"Alright, enlighten me. If not a Saiyan then who?" Asked Cooler.
Gine turned her gaze to Cooler. "The savior who killed Frieza was the Doom Slayer himself."
King Cold and Cooler exchanged glances with each other.
"Doom Slayer…" Cooler echoed. Raising a brow. "What a strange name."
King Cold releases his grip on King Vegeta's head. He steps forward, closing the distance between himself and Gine. "So Doom Slayer is his name," he commented. "Well, where is this 'Doom Slayer,' I'd like to have a word with him."
Gine stares up into King Cold's eyes. "H-He's not here." She stammered. "But he's on his way back. That I can assure you of."
King Cold smirked faintly. "Good. That saves me the time of going to him myself. In fact," said King Cold. "Until he arrives, we shall remain here in wait for him to arrive." He smiled sinisterly. "It will give me plenty of time to be entertained."
A chill crept up the spine of everyone within a radius of one-hundred feet. Everyone froze. They stared at King Cold in fear and horror.
King Cold glances at Cooler. "Cooler, why don't you have a go with King Vegeta; perhaps you could test your newfound strength against him."
Cooler scoffed, turning away from King Cold. "Oh please, that weakling ape can hardly stand up to me. No way would he ever dare fight me in combat." He looked around at the Saiyans. "I'll be honest, father. I don't know who this 'Doom Slayer,' think he is but no one attacks our family and lives. No one!." He turns to his troops. "Salza, Dore, Neiz. You three should be more than enough to annihilate these weaklings. Make sure you purge every one of these Saiyans here, that includes the rest of you!"
Salza, Dore, Neiz, and King Cold's soldiers saluted, marching forward towards Gine and King Vegeta. The Saiyans began to crouch in a battle stance.
Gine gulped, taking a few hesitant steps backwards but stopped when a thud shook ground from behind her. She whirled around, only to find that another Saiyan had arrived.
He was a man of above-average height with long dark hair kept tied back. His beard grew out from his chin as his body was clad in armor, the shoulder pads out to the sides with a blue body suit beneath, and his tail wrapped about on his waist.
The crowd of Saiyans parted, allowing him to enter. The newcomer stood at the center of the clearing, gazing at King Cold and Cooler in silence.
Cooler spoke first. "And who might you be?" He questioned.
The newcomer narrowed his eyes at Cooler. "Kolard." He answered. Turning his head to look at Gine, he walked up beside her. "Don't worry about it Gine. They won't harm a single hair on your head." He gently pats her on the head. "I'll take things from here."
Gine nodded. "Okay. But be careful, alright?"
Kolard nodded. He returned his narrowing gaze to King Cold and Cooler and starts forward.
Cooler sighed, lowering his head while shaking. "I don't have time for this nonsense. You," pointing a finger at one Cold soldier. "Deal with this fool."
"Yes Lord Cooler!" replied the soldier kneeling on one knee and placing one hand to his heart. He stood up, facing Kolard while keeping his guard lowered. Kolard stopped in front of the soldier. His gaze hardened slightly.
Kolard slowly approached the soldier, causing him to take two small steps backward. A smirk formed on the soldier's face. He let out a laugh and charged straight toward the Saiyan, bringing his arm down and swinging wildly.
Only for said arm to hit air.
He raised an eyebrow at the sight of an empty space where Kolard used to stand. He stared blankly ahead, searching for any signs of the Saiyan. The soldier blinked in confusion until he felt a force slam into the side of his face, knocking him off his feet. He landed with a heavy thud on the ground, his back arching from the impact. Panting heavily, he looks upward. The soldier finds himself staring directly into Kolard's glaring black eyes.
"You let your overconfidence undo you." Kolard says, aiming a hand down at the Cold soldier. "Now pay the price." The blast burst from his hand. When he looked back, there was nothing but a crater.
The crowd of Saiyans looked in shock and astonishment while King Vegeta proudly smirked at Kolard's quick victory.
Kolard looked at the Cold soldiers. As well as Cooler's three squadrons. "Whoever else wants to fight," he announces. "Come!"
A/N: Hey, it's me Goku! Whoa! Who's that Kolard guy, he looks really strong and took out that Cold soldier in a flash! He's able to hold his own against the squadrons but what about Cooler and King Cold? Are they even stronger then Frieza? Just hang on for a bit longer Kolard, they're on their way!
