Bardock and Broly were locked in a friendly brawl that trailed along the landscape.

Two years had passed since the Frieza incident. Planet Vegeta was safe once again by the Slayer himself. In fact, it was a miracle that everything had stayed calm ever since then. After the Slayer defeated Frieza, Cooler, and King Cold. King Vegeta made preparations to send troops to hunt down the remains of the Frieza force. Bardock, his teammates, and the Slayer spend much of their free time training and sparring Broly.

Training Broly was harder than most due to his larger stature and his longer reach. With how quickly his body moved, it wasn't surprising how he was so skilled at fighting at such a young age. However this didn't mean that Broly was weak. No, he was Planet Vegeta's strongest warrior and one that even the other elite members were intimidated by.

The times Bardock and his team trained with Broly was of great benefit to them. Bardock was now far stronger than he ever was before. His combat prowess improved tremendously over the past two years. But as strong as he, his teammates, Broly, and everyone else is now. There was one reality they couldn't deny: the Slayer was overwhelmingly powerful.

And that power was something they never could hope to match up against. He wasn't just powerful, he was the incarnation of power. It was a fact that was known to all the Saiyans. But that didn't dissolve their motivation to get stronger. The Slayer, despite being a powerful warrior, still remained respected by both his strength and power. Not the respect of a king. No, not the respect of any commoner. But the respect of someone worthy enough to be considered a true warrior. An idol of the Saiyan race.

At the moment, Bardock and Broly were in a clearing in the woods and he was attempting to teach Broly how to control his power for the one-hundred-&-twentieth time. They had started with standard battle training on the ground and Broly managed to knock Bardock down, then he decided that he was ready for the next step.

For some reason, controlling his rage was a difficult concept for him to grasp; he didn't have the grace for it. However, Bardock knew that once he got the hang of it, he would be unstoppable.

All it took was time.

Broly and Bardock landed on the ground, facing each other. Since they were doing hand to hand combat today, Broly was in his armor. He was given the latest model of a new armor, wearing black boots with white borders and green-striped toes, purple form-fitting pants, and black armbands with white ridges. Initially, he wore a black, long-sleeved, form-fitting shirt as he found the armor too restrictive. He was later given black chest armor with a green midsection and shoulder pads. Broly had to admit that the armor fit his body perfectly, as if designed just for him.

The clock feature on Bardock's Scouter that the Slayer had implanted told him that Broly managed to stay in control of himself for nearly ten minutes. Bardock crossed his arms, his lips forming a smirk.

Over the past year, it had grown easier for Broly to control his anger. While he still snaps and loses control of himself when things don't go in his way in battle, the majority of the time he can hold it in. This was due to the Slayer's guidance; otherwise he wouldn't be able to handle his powers properly, and it would become a disaster. The Slayer and Broly had become close through these sessions, student and teacher.

Not to mention, in order to get Broly strong enough to protect Planet Vegeta from any potential threat, the Slayer gave him additional training, including the important lessons about controlling his anger. Broly responded better to his and Bardock's training when they showed signs of approval rather than shaking their heads when he got things wrong. This year his combat skills had improved; not only in terms of his physical abilities but also his mental capacities. That meant Bardock and Broly could begin training together on more complex tactics.

"Well done Broly, you've lasted ten minutes and sixteen seconds against me while in control," said Bardock. "You are starting to understand and study well how to use your power."

Broly looked pleased with himself. It was an improvement compared to his last attempt. Even though they both knew he was getting better, it was nice hearing him say so. "Thank you for your praise, Bardock. I think I will improve," Broly said confidently. "Will master Slayer approve?" Broly asked.

"Of course, Broly. Why wouldn't he? You are improving, and he can see it every time he looks at you. Now, let's continue the lesson."

Broly nodded eagerly. The two of them went back to their positions and were about to resume the training until a familiar voice called out from behind them, "Ah ah ah." The two boys stopped what they were doing and turned around. "Break time you two, It's time to eat."

Bardock chuckled as he recognized her voice. "Well, guess a little break wouldn't hurt, right Broly?"

Broly nodded and the two sat down on the ground together, picking up their trays, which contained cooked legs and drinks, and started eating. It wasn't long until Torah, Fasha, Shugesh, and Borgos flew by and joined them. They all sat and eat in silence for a moment until Broly asked, "Master Bardock, is it true that Master Slayer is a God of Destruction?"

Bardock took a large gulp of his drink as he contemplated Broly's question. "Nah, those are just rumors. Besides if he was a God of Destruction he wouldn't be wearing that armor or be carrying that tech," Bardock replied casually.

Shugesh spoke up, "That is true. He's still crazy strong though no doubt about it." He took another sip of his own drink. "But hey, it's a good thing he's on our side."

"Yeah," Borgos said. "If he was against us, we really would be in trouble." Borgos finished his drink, placing the empty glass on the tray next to him. Then he picked up his cooked breast meat and started chewing and continued. "Which reminds me, where is the Slayer?"

Fasha gulped her piece of meat. "I saw him go back to his tower not too long ago, probably crafting some new tech or something."

Torah smirked at Fasha. "Yeah, I've noticed you annoying him and taunting him constantly to fight you. What's up with that?"

Fasha glanced at Torah with a smirk. "What can I say? He's quite strong…for someone who isn't a Saiyan. How could I not be intrigued by him?"

Torah chuckled at Fasha's reply. "Oh ho ho trust me Fasha, you're not the only one who's intrigued by his strength and character," he said. "Hell, almost every Saiyan woman on Planet Vegeta seems interested in him."

Bardock swallowed the food in his mouth, "Well it is to be expected."

"Well if he isn't a God of Destruction what is he? I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting a sense that he's not from around here." Shugesh added.

"No one knows Shugesh," Torah answered. "To this day the Slayer still remains a mystery."

Borgos nodded. "Yeah, but who knows. Maybe one day he'll open up to us—"

The Scouter over everyone, except Gine and Broly's eyes began flashing and they pressed their hands to it.

"What is it?" Bardock said, then paused, listening. He narrowed his head. "Our next assignment is up?" He listened again, nodding his head. "Alright, we're on our way." He lowered his hand, looking at his comrades. "You all got that right?"

Broly turned to Bardock with a frown on his face. "What's going on Bardock?"

Bardock sighed as he stood up. "It appears we're assigned to another mission of wiping out the last of the Frieza force," he replied. "Unfortunately, this one is much bigger than the previous ones so King Vegeta wants both low class and the elites on the double." He looked to each of his teammates. "We should hurry. Let's go." With that Bardock turned away and blasted off into the air with Torah, Fasha, Shugesh, and Borgos following closely behind him.

Gine watched as they left then turned to face Broly and smiled. "Hey, I was planning to visit Slayer's tower to give him a gift. You wanna come? I'm sure he would like to see how you improved."

Broly smiled back. "Okay."

After putting away the trays, Gine and Broly flew towards the Slayer's tower. They landed near the double doors and knocked gently on them. Nothing. They tried knocking once, twice, three times but nothing happened.

"Should I call him out?" asked Gine.

"Don't bother."

Broly and Gine looked over their shoulders in unison to see Paragus approaching them. The duo tensed, not expecting Paragus to be there.

Paragus looked at the two. "You just missed him. He took his ship and left the planet not too long ago."

"Oh, really? Where is he going?" Gine asked.

Paragus shrugged, "How should I know, I didn't ask." He turned to his son Broly. "Come with me Broly, we have much to do."

"Yes, father." Broly followed his father obediently. Broly turned to Gine and nodded in acknowledgment. "Bye Gine."

She waved back. "See you around." She watches Broly and Paragus fly off together into the sky.

Gine looked up to said sky and smiled.

These past two years have been peaceful and quiet so far. She only hopes it stays that way.

The journey was silent but not uncomfortably so since the only noises heard were the humming of the machine as it worked overtime trying to keep the vessel in perfect condition. The hyperdrive was running smoothly and steadily without having any problems so far.

Doom Slayer sat on his seat, arms crossed, leaned back, glaring. Angered at this faint energy that Vega picked up about a minute ago. Could this said energy belong to a demon? Whatever it is, he's more than capable of taking it out effortlessly. His glare deepened at the thought of a group of demons already slaughtering civilians.

He also thought it was best that he leave Planet Vegeta anyway. Sure he tolerated folks like Bardock, Gine, and Broly throughout the years but he couldn't stand some of the other Saiyans there. Especially that Fasha woman. Through the past two years she had been constantly annoying him by asking to spar with him almost everyday. Some days he would flat out refuse her request but most days he would humor her just to put her in her place.

Of course, he had to admit that she could indeed put up quite the resistance. She would even start fighting him when she knew she shouldn't because sparring with him or fighting him would be utterly pointless. He could feel himself slowly losing patience with her. At first he was able to keep his temper under control. However, after a while he grew tired of her constant taunting.

"We are approaching our destination." Vega informed him.

Looking out the front window, the Slayer saw this earth covered planet. It was huge and green, surrounded by mountains and forests, filled with waterfalls and rivers, all surrounded by lush greenery and trees. His ship flew over one of the small mountain ranges and trees, flying down to a large round clearing in the midst of the forest.

They slowed down to a stop at the edge of the clearing and the engines died down.

The Slayer unbuckled himself. Getting to his feet he started towards the platform and descended to said platform. He stepped out onto the open area. He stood there for a moment, surveying the area before him. Trees surrounding him on all sides, plants covering the ground, birds chirping, wildlife moving about everywhere.

The Slayer walked forward, dodging through trees, vines and brush. Looking around, there weren't any people around; no signs of any buildings, either. He continued walking further through the area, searching. His armor scans the environment. His scanners detected some life forms. Insects flitting between trees, animals scurrying through foliage. All were living creatures that seemed to avoid him, due to his intimidating presence.

The Slayer continued walking farther and eventually arrived at a cliffside overlooking a giant waterfall that falls straight down into a big lake below. A river flows across the edge, its waters crashing against rocks below, forming an endless stream. The Slayer observed the area carefully. After checking out the lake, he scanned the trees, bushes and plants for signs of life but saw none.

The Slayer's eyes darted to his right as the radar pinged on his visor. Scanning ahead, the Slayer caught sight of a dark form moving amongst the trees. He hid himself behind one of the thick trees and crept closer, trying to spot the figure. His vision finally settled on a lone small figure walking alone through the forest. He couldn't make out the person's features as he was hidden behind the trees. It wasn't until said small figure came out from the trees and stopped in front of the large waterfall did he notice the boy's hair.

That's…

His brow furrowed and he blinked, thinking about who or what could possibly look that similar to the man he's known for two years. Suddenly his eyes locked on the boy's familiar tail swaying from behind red.

A Saiyan. Of course it was.

But that wasn't what struck the Slayer the most, it was his features. The wild black hair, the black eyes…he looked exactly like Bardock. But with a bit of innocence and gentle expression like Gine. But how could that be? There's no way he has such a resemblance to the two, unless…. The Slayer frowned even harder as he thought. He glanced back to the lake, seeing the boy's tail continue to sway behind his back.

The Slayer's thoughts raced and suddenly it clicked. Thats….that's Kakarot. The Slayer recalled a time long ago when Bardock and Gine told him before he arrived on Planet Vegeta, they sent their second born son Kakarot to earth in order to save him from Planet Vegata's almost certain destruction. As if reading the Slayer's mind, Vega spoke up.

"My scans indicate that this is Kakarot, Bardock's son. Age: 10 years old, height: 3ft, bloodline: Saiyan." Stated Vega.

The Slayer raised a brow. Vega just realized that?

The Slayer watched Kakarot from afar as the kid went and jumped from branch after branch, giggling happily as he fell through the air. Eventually the kid landed on the ground close to the lake, where the waterfall crashed against the shore. A wide smile spread across Kakarot's face. The boy looked up at the massive waterfall.

The Slayer was brought back to the present when Vega spoke again.

"The faint energy I detected earlier is not too far from here. I have marked the location on your HUD."

With that being said, the Slayer looked at Kakarot one last time before walking.

Advancing deeper into the woods towards where the faint energy was coming from.

A/N: Hey it's me, Goku! Well, seems things are going well. But with the way things are now, I don't think we will be seeing the Saiyans for quite a while. Hey, look! That's me! Man this brings back so many memories during my days as a kid. Wait...what the heck is that?!
