Bardock and his team were seated together in a sizable crater, which had been formed by the aftermath of their recent battle. As the sun began to rise over the horizon it cast a warm orange glow upon the ground below them creating a serene and picturesque scene. The team members chuckled amongst themselves, relishing in the peacefulness of the moment. It was yet another day of triumph over the fallen Frieza force and they were grateful for the opportunity to bask in the beauty of the morning.
"That was a heck of a party, wasn't it." Torah commented from his place on the other side next to Bardock.
"If you say so, I don't remember any of it." Fasha replied with an equally amused chuckle. Torah smirked at her.
"You're a typical ape, Fasha." He said with a shake of his head. Fasha rolled her eyes.
"Aaah, shut up! I don't see how you guys remember, anyway! It's elephants that aren't supposed to forget, not apes!" She grumbled, crossing her arms in front of her chest as she pouted and stared off into the distance.
"I'm with you, Fasha. To me it's like waking up from a dream. You kind of remember it all but then it just slips away." Borgos added in, taking a bite out of a small chunk of meat he had taken from one of his kills.
"I don't remember much either, but I remember the crusty, little devil that gave me this." Shugesh stated, rubbing his new scar on his arm with his thumb. It had been a nasty little scrape, but it had healed well now.
Fasha grinned.
"Paragu says he remembers everything." She turned to look over at him. Torah chuckled at her.
"Right, don't make me laugh Fasha! Paragu might remember every second of every battle but he remembers nothing of his personal life." Torah retorted, turning to look at Fasha then back to Paragu who laid beside Bardock. "Allow me to demonstrate... Paragu, do you remember what day your son was born?"
He had tan skin and donned the traditional Saiyan armor. The shoulder pads out to the sides with a blue body suit beneath, and his tail wrapped about on his waist. Paragu's most prominent feature is his spiky black-colored hair. His black eyes were sharp and filled with experience and his body was toned and muscular.
Paragu shrugged on the ground. "No, but that was a long time ago." He said. Fasha's grin slightly grew.
"It was not, you lazy bum. Yesterday? Come on! You need to go see the little tike! You have enough time to stop in before our next assignment." Fasha insisted. Paragu clicked his tongue, sitting up from where he had laid down to rest.
"Visit him, huh? How nice. Father-son bonding." Paragu spits the thin stick away. "Why should I? They'll just send him away! What's the use? Tell me that!"
Fasha turned away from Paragu. "Hmmm... Paragu." She was unamused by his attitude. "You're too much."
Shugesh chuckled as a thought came to mind. "Hey, guys... I've been thinking, why is the Doom Slayer always quiet all the time? Is Slayer a shy gerbil behind that shell of a suit or something?"
Bardock shrugged. "Meh, beats me. I guess he's one of those guys who lets his actions speak then spew out meaningless words."
Torah nodded, agreeing with him.
"Yeah, I totally agree! I mean to this day he's still a mystery; and with the get-up he got, you can't help but wonder where he came from, you know? I mean, I've seen many armor from the warriors we've taken out but not the kind he's got.
Paragu smirked.
"I'm at-least glad he took out that freak of an emperor. I couldn't stand serving him!" He spat, looking offended by the idea.
Borgos nodded in agreement. "I couldn't agree more, Imagine if the Slayer didn't show up. We..."
All the lenses of everyone's Scouters came to life as numbers dialed rapidly towards the top right corner. Bardock was the first to whirl around and bolted upright.
A diminutive dark red sphere materializes behind them. Gradually expanding into a colossal spiraling portal. The circular black void is adorned with light orange streaks, and magical particles burst forth like sparks from a firework. Emerging from the portal is a towering behemoth, draped in a black cloak that conceals all physical features except for their hands.
Bardock took note of the stranger's battle power when his Scouter picked up traces of it.
Bardock's eyes widened slightly.
He was staring at a power level of thirty thousand!
The behemoth's lids fully opened. Revealing bright burning red eyes that crawled from the ground until they met Bardock's own. The behemoth ominously stride towards the group, followed by a long low growl. Each methodic footstep made the floor shake like the strike of a giant mallet.
"Who are you?" Bardock demanded, assuming a poised stance for combat. His squad emulated his actions, each assuming their own prepared stance.
The enigmatic figure remained silent, offering no response to Bardock's question. The sound of footsteps ceased, and the towering figure positioned themselves at a distance of six feet from Bardock and his squad.
"I'm looking for a warrior worthy of a challenge," the cloaked behemoth began, eyeing Bardock and his squad one by one. "Who among you is the strongest?"
Bardock narrowed his eyes. "And what if one of us are?" He inquired, taking one step forward.
For a moment the cloaked behemoth was silent.
"Who I am is not important to you, Saiyan," the mysterious behemoth said, crossing his arms. "Even if I were to tell you, what would it matter? Something as trivial as a name is so unimportant in the heat of battle; and yet, it's important to you, even when death is slowly approaching. As if it'll act as some sort of closure before they experience their demise or one deluding themselves into believing it'll make a difference in battle."
The cloaked behemoth took another step.
"Enough talk, I have a job to do." The behemoth's body was enveloped in an orange aura that rippled in spikes. "Whoever among you is strong, come, and face your demise."
Broly gazed intently at the sky, which was illuminated with a striking combination of crimson and purple hues. The gentle breeze caressed his face, providing a pleasant sensation. Broly stood outside the tower, patiently waiting for his father who was inside. He raised his hand and tapped his Scouter, checking the time. It was 2:30 PM. With a weary sigh, he turned his gaze towards the city.
The bustling city was filled with Saiyans, some of whom were milling about the dirt streets while others soared through the sky. Broly found himself captivated by the peaceful moment, carried away by the passing wind. He could feel himself leaving the dirt ground, hovering high in the air, drifting into the sky towards the distant horizon.
As he looked around, he noticed the ball-shaped pods flying into the sky and up to the void of space. The sight was truly mesmerizing, and Broly couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder. He stood there, lost in thought, taking in the beauty of the moment.
Broly blinked. A large shadow loomed over him. He lifted his head and saw a diminutive dark red sphere materialize above him. Expanding gradually into a colossal spiraling portal. Orange particles burst forth like sparks around the circular black void.
A dark indistinct object rapidly descended and forcefully struck the ground, causing it to crack. Taken aback by the suddenness of the event, Broly was unable to react and let out a startled yelp as he was abruptly lifted off his feet. He cried out as he was hoisted high into the air, away from the tower, and the wind whipped past his ears as they moved further away from it. Suddenly, he felt a flurry of blows to his face, causing his world to spin in all directions. Although the punches were not strong enough to cause him any harm, they did manage to completely destroy his Scouter.
Broly emitted a low growl, followed by a powerful shout that reverberated through the air. His body was enveloped in a vibrant, leafy green aura, with spikes that rippled upward like a shining beacon. The force of his shout was so intense that it caused his attacker to stumble backwards.
The attacker quickly regained their composure and launched forward, swinging their right foot with great force. However, Broly was one step ahead. He swiftly dodged to the side, uncoiling his tail and wrapping it around his attacker's foot, causing them to let out a sharp yelp. With the attacker's foot firmly in his grasp, Broly rushed his tail upwards, lifting his opponent and throwing them forward with great force.
The attacker was sent flying so hard and fast they had no opportunity to straighten themselves out and regain control. They had managed to slow themselves just enough so their bright red gaze met the Saiyan behemoths. They held their gaze long enough until the attack launched forward. Punching Broly hard across the face.
Though Broly received the hit, he recovered swiftly, rushing in a kick at their right side. The attacker was sent crashing into the ground and slid a good way before managing to get back on their feet and rush back up toward him. The attacker charges a blast in his hand, and throws his hand up sending it rocketing out at him.
Broly raised his left hand to expertly deflect the incoming blast. The two powerful warriors charged towards each other, engaging in a fierce and impressive battle that took them through the bustling city. They dodged and countered each other's punches and kicks, each movement accompanied by a gust of wind-like shockwaves. The intensity of their fight was palpable, and it was clear that neither was willing to back down. After some time they finally separated. Hovering mid-air and facing each other with a mutual respect for their impressive skills.
Finally Broly got a look at his attacker. Said attacker draped in a black cloak that conceals all physical features except for their fingerless gloved hands.
"Impressive. Yes, impressive," the cloaked man spoke, crossing his arms. "At first, I expected a weaker opponent. But you seem to be the strong one here."
Broly glared. "Who are you?"
"Who are you?" The cloaked man repeated, and chuckled as if it was the funniest joke he ever heard. "They always ask that; so trivial it is and so unimportant in the heat of battle. I think the better question you should ask is whether or not you'll survive…this."
The right palm of the cloaked man extended outward, emanating a vibrant red energy. With a deliberate motion, he gradually lifted the pulsating sphere of energy above his head, causing it to expand in size. The scene was quite remarkable to behold while also terrifying for every Saiyan watching the battle from below. The cloaked man yelped and threw the energy ball at Broly.
Broly clenched his teeth tightly, causing a vein to protrude from his forehead to the side of his neck. With a loud shout, he propelled himself towards the incoming energy sphere. Despite the excruciating pain, he managed to grab hold of it. The heat emanating from the sphere was intense, causing his palms to feel a slight burning sensation.
With great force, Broly crushed the energy sphere in his hands, leaving behind streaks of energy and a gust of wind. He had thought he would have a moment to catch his breath, but was caught off guard when his attacker unexpectedly clocked their fist to his cheek. Despite the surprise attack, Broly quickly recovered and the two engaged in a fierce brawl that spanned across the city. They countered each other's moves and dodged attack after attack.
As the battle continued, Broly's power seemed to increase with each passing moment. Every punch he landed on his opponent felt heavier than the last, and his blasting green waves of energy appeared to take a greater effect on them. The intensity of the fight only seemed to fuel Broly's strength, and he fought on with determination and focus.
After a brief moment, the two combatants parted ways, hovering in mid-air and facing each other once again. The attacker raised his hands and began to clap slowly, followed by a deep, menacing chuckle.
"Allow me to extend my congratulations, Saiyan. You have proven yourself to be far superior to that Kolard fellow whom my comrades and I encountered earlier," the attacker remarked, lowering their arms to their sides. "I trust that my associate has taken care of him by now."
Broly gasped.
Someone is fighting Kolard right now? Broly thought.
"I must say Saiyan, what's your name?" The attacker asked.
Broly narrowed his eyes. "Broly."
The attacker chuckled.
"Well, it was nice playing with you after the time we had together. But I have other things to intend to. So, I will let him play with you…"
Broly raised an eyebrow inquisitively, his curiosity piqued by the man's words. However, before he could respond, he was suddenly interrupted by a strange occurrence. Broly blinked in surprise as he felt a strange presence behind him. Turning around, he was met with the sight of a small, dark red sphere that was gradually expanding into a colossal spiraling portal. The circular black void was adorned with light orange streaks, and magical particles burst forth like sparks from a firework. Emerging from the portal was a ten feet tall behemoth.
The man had a light complexion with dark eyes and black spiky hair that reached his mid-back, with short bangs framing his forehead. He had a lean but well-built frame, and was dressed in a manner that was both striking and unique. The man was shirtless, but wore white pants with a red sash draped around his waist and secured by a yellow belt with a blue gem-center. He also wore yellow boots with a blue gem at the top front.
Broly's eyes widened in shock as he took in the sight before him. A terrible realization dawned on him as he realized that this man looked... just like him.
"Have fun you two." Broly heard the attacker, whipping his head around just in time to see that the attacker had vanished.
Broly was taken aback by a sudden and powerful roar that echoed through the air. As he turned to face the source of the commotion, he was met with the sight of his own duplicate, who was screaming to the heavens. The duplicate's massive hands were tightly clenched at his sides, and his head was tilted upwards towards the sky. A brilliant green aura enveloped his entire body, and sparks of cyan lightning crackled around him.
There was a flash of lightning. Everything was painted in green light and traced with shadow. When the light cleared, Broly blinked rapidly until his world adjusted itself. However when it did, Broly's eyes widened and his stomach plummeted at the sight before him.
The Broly floating in front of him appeared to be slightly taller by an inch. His hair was a vibrant shade of green, and it was styled in a wild and spiky manner. Notably his pupils were absent and his muscles were well-defined. His teeth gritted as though he was in intense agony. It was then that the duplicate lowered his head, and faced Broly. The green aura fading away along with the lightning.
There was silence.
"You," Broly began to speak, his mind still couldn't comprehend the person he was seeing. "You look just like me."
The Broly duplicate tilted his head and laughed heartily at what Broly said.
"Fool, I am you! Well, a 'better,' you," the duplicate said, pointing at him. "I am the superior being; I don't know why I am here, and I don't much less care. But one thing is for certain, there's no room for the two of us to be among the living." A sinister smile formed on the duplicate's lips. "So I will take great pleasure in tearing you apart, limb from limb!"
The right fist of Broly was clenched with great speed, and a white aura surrounded it, illuminating the area. With a swift motion Broly launched himself forward and struck his duplicate's gut with a powerful blow. However, the Broly duplicate remained unfazed by the punch and quickly retaliated by striking Broly straight in the stomach. The impact was so intense that Broly doubled over in pain, clutching his stomach as he coughed. His aura, which was once bright, grew dimmer, and his legs began to wobble. Although he managed to stay afloat in the air.
The Broly duplicate let out a hearty laugh and asked, "What was that supposed to be?"
Broly was left in shock, his jaw hanging slack as strings of saliva flowed down his lips and onto the ground. Broly lifted his head in time to see the duplicate assume a stance.
"My turn."
The Broly duplicate chuckled and charged forward.
