Mad Dog Roughing in the Big City

The gang are seen in the van driving through the road as they are ready to face off against the second member of the Fiendish Five.

Catra: So, you've been to America before. What was a like there?

Sly: Well, it was a bright and cheerful country where they say it's a "free country" for all to live in. Guess it could say the same to the notorious Muggshot.

They see the file picture of Muggshot. He is a massive bulldog with lilac fur, large muscular arms, and small and seemingly degenerated legs. He has a thick mustache and mono-brow, which are identical to one another.

Catra: Whoa, hate to be the guy who lose in an arm-wrestling contest… and the arm.

Sly: Yep, his big muscles are for what he makes up for in the brain lacking department. But he wasn't always like that, he grew up as the runt of the litter. A neighborhood weakling.

They see a picture of Muggshot as a little kid with his face covered in sand and does so his lollipop as the little Muggshot cries.

Catra: Must have been rough being picked on all the time. What about his parents?

Sly: He only has his mother and little sister, but I'm guessing they couldn't comfort him enough. So, the only ones he could turn were the ones on the big screen. It was there he spotted his first gangster, and he knew instantly that's what he wanted to be.

Catra: Guess being pushed around by bullies through most of his childhood can drive a guy into that kind of life as spend the rest of his youth working out in the muscle man of his dream and I can tell the bullies who picked on him got what they deserve.

Sly: Yep, his hard head and body shows that he would never be push around or pick on ever again. Which also got him as the big muscle in the Fiendish Five.

They see a picture of Muggshot shooting his guns in the air while making a getaway with the loots he has stolen in a car driven by one of his men.

Sly: So, he's hold up in Mesa City? I've always wanted to visit that thriving American town.

Catra: And we'll be sending Muggshot to the dog pound.

They gang see the city itself from the far view on the road thinking what kind of place it'll be like as Sly mentioned that Mesa City is known to be a loud and busy place.

(Front of the Large Entrance to Mesa City)

Sly and Catra exit the van, climbing on top of the large gate as Catra found two more clue bottles and they reach the top pulling out the binocucoms.

"Huh, dad, I thought you said Mesa City is always loud and busy like some cities but looks more like a quite place." Catra puzzled.

"Yeah, like a ghost town." Bentley commented, and creeping himself out.

"Something happened. Where is everyone?" Sly asked, worry a little.

"I believe they might be either hiding in the buildings or were force to be kicked out by Muggshot and his goons." Entrapta theorized.

"Well, these people won't have to fear any long now that we're here." Catra said.

"You got that right. I also want to try out that new move we got from Raleigh's section of the Thievius Raccoonus." Sly excited.

"You mean the Ninja Spire Jump?" Bentley asked.

"Yeah, do me a favor and read us the instructions again." Sly said.

"To landetch safely upon diminutive points, leapetch lively and place one foot upon it." Bentley read the instructions to them.

"So, we just jump and hopefully to land one foot on the narrow spots." Catra guessed.

"A rough translation, but correct." Entrapta nodded.

Sly went first to perform the Ninja Spire Jump on one hang light and done is perfectly on the first try, he jumps to another one for Catra to give it a try though she struggles to keep her balance as Sly helps her. They try on the technique a few more times before Catra starts to get the hang of this, they fought off some guards while collecting more clue bottles and make their way through a path to get into Mesa City.

"Dad, wait!" Catra grabbed Sly's hand to stop him from going any further and points at the flashing lights in the trailer path.

"Good call." Sly impressed and informed Bentley about the flashing lights.

"It's a good thing Catra stopped you. That's the latest in high-tech security – electronic floor sensors. Step on them and you're a goner." Bentley explained.

"Well, that's putting a zap in our steps." Catra joked a little.

"Just be careful when their flashing. They can be safe to walk on like that, but that will also mena they'll switch to a different sector of the floor." Entrapta informed.

The father and daughter thieves carefully make their way through the laser floor and continue on the path to Mesa City while finding more clue bottles and beat up some guards too. They found one vault close by and open it with Bentley and Entrapta's help, inside the vault holds a page of Rob McCooper's patented EXPLOSIVE HAT technique. Catra was sad that she couldn't use that move because she doesn't have a hat, but it was still fun seeing Sly do it while she watches.

They soon found a treasure key that opens a door and made their way through the sneaky path and came across a large bridge leading to a big casino building with a big fire hydrant on top that says "MUGGSHOT" on it.

"According to my calculation, Muggshot isn't a shy guy, so it only stands to reason that would be hiding somewhere big that building with the fire hydrant." Entrapta believed.

"Well, given that he's a bulldog, I would start looking for him there too." Catra pointed out.

"Excellent logic, Entrapta. Now, you just need a way to break into the building's base." Bentley said as the zoom lens stare at the wooden blockade blocking the entrance.

"Oh, I'm sure we'll think of something." Sly smirked as he stares at car and make their way there.

"This one has four three on it, we'll need at least two more treasure keys to get this car working for us." Catra hated when it comes to the hard part.

"Well, as they say, no hard work means no reward." Sly stated.

Sly and Catra sneak their way into the Boneyard Casino where they find some guards patrolling the area, they managed to sneak past most of the guards while collecting some clue bottles along the way searching for a treasure key. They jump on the dollar sign chandeliers to avoid the floor as much as possible, and enter a strange room that is filled with water as they have to jump on some tables and other things that are above water, they soon found another vault containing a page from the Thievius Raccoonus: the hyperactive ancestor B.F. Cooper explaining he discovered a way to speed up the clock a little for the long stakeouts.

"What?! There's no way that's possible to speed up time!" Catra refused to believe that.

"Well, the Coopers have been know for doing the impossible things that you will learn yourself." Sly smirked as he put the page in his backpack and place in the calling card.

They continue down the path through more jumping and climbing until they found a treasure key inside a glass case on top of a giant spinning roulette.

"Guys, this giant roulette wheel is spinning too fast to jump counterclockwise around it. You'll have to jump in the other direction to try to land on the green section." Bentley informed.

"Okay, let's get hopping." Catra jumped down on the roulette and land on the green section three times for the glass case to open. She jumps at the top and grab the key with her tail.

"Good, now let's get out of here." Sly said.

They made their way outside and got a call from Bentley.

"Guys, we got a little problem." Bentley alerted.

"What's up, Bentley?" Sly asked.

"It's best that you see it for yourself. Follow the coordinates I send you." Bentley said.

Catra and Sly were becoming worry about this and made their way to the location marked on the binocucom. Once they arrive to the location, they became shock of seeing the Cooper Van in a small racing track with other cars around it.

"Murray, what's going on down there?" Sly asked.

"Sorry, Scorpia was a little hungry wanted a snack and I was getting a little hungry too. So, I drove to this hotdog stand and the next thing we know, I'm getting challenged to a race by these gangster dogs." Murray explained.

"Sorry guys." Scorpia apologized.

"It's not your fault Scorpia, no can control their hunger." Catra stated.

"True. Hey, is there a treasure key as a prize?" Sly asked.

"Yeah, 3 times around the track for a key." Murray answered.

"Then it's all on you man. Go get them!" Sly cheered for Murray.

"I'm on it!" Murray nodded and turned to Scorpia.

"Okay little pincher, buckle up tight because we're going fast!" Murray grinned and Scorpia quickly buckle the seatbelt on herself.

A minute later, the race starts with Murray going a little full speed at the start as the gangster dogs going fast too trying to leave the pink hippo man in the dust, but Murray wouldn't lit up as he manages to get third place in the first lap. One gangster dog tries to ram the Cooper Van off the racetrack, but Murray wouldn't budge and continue going fast as he got second place in the second lap. The third and last lap was hard as more gangster dogs try to outpace him though Murray refuses to lose as he knows that the team is counting on him to win that treasure, he put the petal to the metal and drove the fastest he could until reaching the finish line first place.

"Yeah, I won!" Murray shouted.

"Awesome dad, you won the race!" Scorpia hopped onto Murray hugging his head as he laughs.

"YES! Did you see that dad, he won!" Catra cheered.

"I did, Murray keeps on impressing us every day." Sly said proud of his pink friend/brother as he sees Murray and Scorpia claiming the treasure key and jumping around in victory.

"Okay Murray, we'll meet you quick to pick up the treasure key." Sly called through the binocucom.

"Got it!" Murray nodded.

Once Murray gave Sly and Catra the third treasure key they need, they quickly make their way back to the large building with the red car still having the three locks until the thieving father and daughter use the three treasure keys to unlock them. Sly pull the lever down to bring the backside of the car on the ground and hotwire it to make the engine roar while Catra is on lookout, he set the car in reverse and it smashes into the wooden blockade leaving an opening for them.

"I give that driving skills a D for Destruction!" Catra cheered softly.

"I can work with that." Sly shrugged.

Sly and Catra made their way inside the Muggshot building and took out a couple of guards standing by a giant structure head of Muggshot with a hat and a cigar in the mouth.

"Sheesh, this guy like to brag about himself." Catra exclaimed, finding the head creepy.

"Yeah, the ugly mug gave it away." Sly rolled his eyes.

"Yes, and I find it infinitely fascinating." Bentley said.

"Huh?" Catra and Sly confused of what the green brain man just said.

"My X-Ray Detection devices reveal that a secret elevator to Muggshot's penthouse is contai8ned within that giant head." Bentley informed.

"Oh, I was kind of worry there for a second." Catra sighed.

"So, how do we get in?" Sly asked.

"We also found a lever that summons the elevator behind that wall at the counter, and you will need seven treasure keys to get to that lever." Entrapta answered.

"Of course." Catra chuckled.

"That chuckle just now has me worry." Entrapta said.

Sly and Catra made their way through a path that leads them outside to a back alley on a stance rally on the building.

"Yuck! These rooftops are filthy!" Bentley complained.

"Even so, father, going up is the only way to find one of the treasure keys according to the locator. It's inside a jewel case somewhere near Muggshot's penthouse." Entrapta pointed out.

"Thanks for the info." Catra thanked before hanging up.

The two climbs up one building, taking out a guard who uses cards as weapons, and collected a few clue bottles, then they jump to another building climbing on the pipe to the top, but suddenly they got an unexpected timing encounter with Carmelita Fox.

"Well, well, well, look who just walked into my crossfires. Sly Cooper." Carmelita glared at the fox man.

"And here's me, Catra Cooper!" Catra grinned.

"Yes, I haven't forgotten about you, little girl." Carmelita said softly and firm at the same time.

"About time you showed up, Miss Fox. We were getting worry about you and thought you might have took a wrong turn somewhere back in Paris." Sly flirted.

"The only ones making wrong turns is you, Sly, not to mention getting an innocent kid involve in your criminal life." Carmelita scolded.

"You really think dad's life is a criminal one? Because from where I'm standing, this life is great and we're actually taking down the bad guys for cops like you." Catra stated.

"Even if that were the case, it still doesn't excuse the other crimes that man has committed. In my eyes, he is a criminal and I suggest you walk away from this before things get messy." Carmelita warned her.

"Sorry, ma'am, but I've already gotten myself deep into my new family's adventure and I'm not going to walk away." Catra determined to stay by Sly's side.

"And besides, I think you would make a great mom for me too." Catra smiled shocking Carmelita.

"M-Me, a mother… I, huh…" Carmelita had no idea how to respond to that.

"Mother, huh? Catra seem to be fond of you, so how about you let us go for the kid's sake." Sly suggested.

"…No, I won't let you go that easily, Cooper! It's time you get a taste of my good friend, the Shock Pistol!" Carmelita pointed her gun at Sly.

"Now see, a girl whose best friend's a firearm got issues. A little dinner, a little dancing, I think I can help you out." Sly offered Carmelita a date.

"And next up is the wedding!" Catra cheered making Sly and Carmelita blush before the policewoman regained her composure.

"Those sounds romantic. As long as you don't mind dining… in jail." Carmelita said.

"Ah man…" Catra depressed.

"No thanks, I heard the services there is nosey." Sly turned it down.

"Once I catch you, you'll know for yourself." Carmelita said.

Sly and Catra started running and jumping from one rooftop to the next as Carmelita starts shooting her shock pistol at them, they lose her when they crash inside a building and continue running hoping she would take another path. But they soon found Carmelita waiting from outside standing on a flagpole, she keeps shooting at Sly though it's hard for her to aim at the raccoon thief while the cat girl is with him and couldn't get over that she thinks of her as a mother.

Sly and Catra went through several rooftops until they spotted a treasure key inside a red case with a giant Muggshot balloon attach to it. Once they reach the key, Carmelita jumps on the Muggshot balloon and that gave Sly the idea as he breaks the case with his cane which causes the balloon to float away with Carmelita still on it.

"I'm going to hunt you down, Cooper. You can't run forever." Carmelita proclaimed.

"Is she going to okay?" Catra asked.

"Don't worry, she is WAY tougher than she looks." Sly promised as he picks up the treasure and they head back to Muggshot's building.

Didn't think this part was gonna be longer than I thought, guess that just shows how awesome the Sly Cooper games are and next chapter will be part of getting the two remaining treasure keys and facing off against Muggshot himself. And it looks like Carmelita may start to have some thoughts about wanting a kid of her own, and Sly being part of the family.
