I woke up in bandages. Couldn't remember much of it. There was a fire. A really big fire. It burned everything somehow. Even the stone. I think she carried me out. I must've been really heavy for such a small girl. The thing is, that's all I can remember. All I could recall of anything, was right now, the fire, and being saved by the white haired child. I thought she must've been a stranded and scared little kid who was just passing by when the flames erupted. I remember her as more calm than that now.

To survive through that, and still be able to save someone. Me even. I really wanted to thank her. Not much I could move though. I could barely breathe or wiggle my finger. I couldn't really move well, so I stayed laying down. The white haired girl that saved me was sitting next to my spot. The white haired girl couldn't have been more than seven. So small and she moved me all the way here?

Head to hay, I tried to say something, and croaked out something close to a "It hurts."

She lit up after a second, "You're awake!?" And she ran out.

I could barely move my neck through all the pain. My whole body, minus my head, must've been licked clean by the flames. There's no way I should ha- could have lived through that. Before I could gather much of my thoughts, I saw a woman walk in. I thought that the woman must be her mom. She was in some kind of servant dress outfit. It looked like something a royal maid might wear. Her dress was mostly white, with some black mixed in from what little I could see out of the corner of my eye. The first thing I noticed was her eyes. The same red as the small girl. I managed out a "Th-nk -ou." Her face didn't really change much, but she walked over and gave me some water. I'd have thanked her again if it didn't feel like the fire every time I tried.

I got a lot better look at her this time. She seemed stern. I noticed white hair under her bonnet too. Same color as her daughter. "Young man. You cannot move yet, but you will soon enough. When you can, you will help me with chores." I was surprised at her candid opening remark, but it seemed reasonable. The young girl, said something in protest.

I croaked out the best "Yes" I could manage. At that the woman nodded and the girl told me "No. You just have to get better, and teach me about horsies!"

Even though it felt like a thousand burning needles in my neck, I managed to move my neck and head to the side to get a look at her. Like any other little kid when they talked, she screeched. "Stop moving!" and moved my head back up to face the ceiling.

ALMIGHTY did that hurt. My neck felt like it was inside the fire again. This time my voice did seem to work, though that hurt too.

Through gritted teeth I managed a "Thank you." The maid woman hadn't done much other than watch the exchange, and she was moving to touch my bandages. I closed my eyes, getting ready for the pain. Instead I felt relief. I opened my eyes to a green, glowing cloud around her hand that she was touching my neck with. I couldn't really feel her hand. I couldn't really feel the pain either. I felt like I could speak a little better now. "I want to get better, and help." The woman nodded. "You may help Iris after you get better."

After this, a loud bang resounded from somewhere outside, the green around the woman's hand turned purple, and I passed into sleep.

I woke up again. This time it wasn't some kind of shack, but a small room. It looked like some kind of inn for travelers. I was able to move a little more this time. I could even turn my head a little. I looked around, and it looked like evening outside. I could even move my hands, arms, and legs a bit. I was in one of the two hay beds, and the one next to me was occupied by the maid-mother. She must've been tired. I could hardly imagine all the work if she'd been taking care of me while I was sleeping. She probably carried me too.

I really need to get better so that I can help. As if on cue, the girl walked right on in after that thought. Closing the door, she walked over to me, and said "I'm Irisviel, but Lynn calls me Iris. You can't talk yet, but Lynn said you can move around soon." She did a little hop and dance that seemed like something a toddler might do. She kept talking about things a child would. Quite abruptly during this, she calmed down, and said "I'm tired, goodnight." Then went to lay on top of Lynn.

After a few moments of silence, and a small snore, I thought of the green and purple cloud the woman had around her hand. Magic?

I felt stronger. Almost like I could move my legs without any pain. We were by a bonfire this time. Just a couple yards away. This scared me. I jumped away from it, and yanked the cloth blanket off in case it caught flame. I don't think I noticed then, but I had jumped next to Lynn. I felt my skin prickling at the sight of the fire, and was about to run and hide.

"You owe Iris your life,"Lynn said. This didn't startle me so bad. The statement of the fact actually took me away from the fire a bit. I kept looking back at it, but I was only sweating now.

"What is your name, young man?"

"…I don't know. I don't remember..." I trailed off and remembered the heat, the black masses all around, and then Iris. Somehow surviving it all, and somehow managing to save me.

"You will have to pay her back with fealty then, and so you will repay Irisviel with that same life."

I wasn't too sure how to respond to that, so I just stared. After all, there's not much I could do then except smallwork. Unless..

"That green glowy stuff, and the purple cloud stuff. If I can do that, can I repay her?"

This was the first time Lynn ever smiled at me.

Author's Note

First Chapter. First Story.

Honest reviews are appreciated! I've got a lot of ideas for this story that I'd like to put into play. I have no idea how long this could turn out but we'll see. I'm excited and I want to release at least semi-regular updates. I'm shooting for at least once a week. No idea just yet, as this is the first chapter. We'll find out. Again, honest reviews and thoughts are appreciated. I want this story to be very digestible. Even if you don't know anything about Fate or Bleach respectively.

My goal with this story is to 1)get a lot of fun ideas out with characters I love, and 2)make a fun read from beginning to end.

Alright, enough yapping. See ya!
