"I can't believe my fight is only two weeks away," Annabeth said to no one in particular. She bit her nails nervously. All of her focus had been on training for her fight. She was at the gym for ten hours a day and even took the tapes to study at home. The only time she came up for air was when Piper or Percy made her. Or when she was visiting Hazel.

Annabeth was more than ready to prove that she deserved to be champion. She was ready to take on one of the best fighters in the world. Then, she would have to prepare herself to face Reyna. Her teammate was going to win. Annabeth hoped.

Speaking of the devil, Reyna walked in. She had her earbuds in and was bobbing her head up and down. Her gaze moved to Annabeth, and she nodded. Annabeth nodded back. Reyna walked toward the fridge and looked through it.

Annabeth's phone rang, and she jumped. She looked down at it and quickly answered, "Percy! How are you doing?"

"I'm good, but I'm also really sorry," Percy began. Annabeth frowned.

"You can't make it tomorrow," Annabeth assumed.

"I really want to," Percy explained. He sighed sadly. "I know how much you were looking forward to this. Estelle is still sick, and I have to take care of her."

"Percy, you have nothing to apologize for," Annabeth said quickly. "I'm never going to be mad at you for taking care of Estelle. Do you need me to pick up medicine or soup or anything?"

"No," Percy declined. "Mom got her everything, but Paul has to cover some school stuff tomorrow. And mom has that book deal today. I really am sorry."

"Percy, it's okay," Annabeth insisted. "Just make sure Estelle is taken care of. And when Sally gets that deal, we're going to celebrate."

"We will. Enjoy tomorrow, okay?" Percy said.

"I will. Keep me updated if you need anything," Annabeth replied.

"Will do," Percy promised as he hung up. Annabeth hung her phone up and glanced to the side. Reyna was sitting on the counter and eating yogurt. Her head still bobbed up and down to the music. The door opened again as Piper walked in.

"Piper," Annabeth began. Piper looked at her and smiled. "Do you remember how Percy and I hung out one Saturday a month?"

"The nerd gathering," Piper teased. Annabeth rolled her eyes. "What about it?"

"Percy can't make it," Annabeth explained. "I was wondering if you wanted to go."

"I would love to, but I'm helping my dad with a photoshoot," Piper began. "I'm sorry."

"It's fine," Annabeth assured. "I know it's last minute."

"Can you go by yourself?" Piper asked.

"I could, but I already paid for two people. It's too late for a refund, so I wanted to see if anyone else wanted to go. Hazel's not an option, and Frank's not here today because he's spending the weekend with his grandma."

"Reyna is an option," Piper commented.

"She wouldn't like it."

"How do you know?"

"She'll think it's nerdy."

"There's like one nerdy thing on the list."

"But still."

Annabeth glanced to the side, and Reyna seemed completely oblivious that they were talking about her. The head bobbing had stopped, but her fingers were tapping on her yogurt container. Piper gave Annabeth a look.

"Why are you being so weird?" Piper asked.

"I'm not being weird," Annabeth argued. She shied away from the pointed look. "I don't know. It just seems weird."

"That you would ask a friend to hang out with you?" Piper questioned.

"What if Reyna doesn't think of me as a friend?" Annabeth asked. "She probably just thinks we're teammates and nothing more."

Piper slapped Annabeth's arm, and that caught Reyna's attention as she looked up. Piper just turned and smiled at her. She looked back at Annabeth. After a few moments, Reyna looked away again.

"Would she really have gone to Christmas and pretended to be your girlfriend if she wasn't your friend? You guys are more than teammates, dummy," Piper deadpanned. "I mean that affectionately of course."

Annabeth rolled her eyes. She looked down. It was dumb, really. Why would Annabeth care if Reyna thought she was a nerd, and of course, they were friends. But what if she thought they weren't? Annabeth hung her head.

"Annabeth, is this more than a friend thing?" Piper asked.

"No," Annabeth answered. She sighed and lowered her voice. "I feel like I messed things up with what I said during that interview. I apologized, and Reyna didn't accept it until later. I feel like she didn't forgive me, though. More like she wants to keep the peace."

"I think she forgave you," Piper said. "Stop making excuses and go ask."

"Alright," Annabeth relented. She looked back at Reyna and saw that she was browsing through her phone. Annabeth gently tapped her knee. "Reyna?"

Reyna looked up and pulled out an earbud, "Yeah?"

"Do you have any plans for tomorrow?" Annabeth asked. She was sure Reyna did. Nico would probably want to do something.

"No," Reyna answered. A small smirk came to her face. "Need a fake girlfriend again?"

"Not this time," Annabeth replied. Reyna pulled out her other earbud and waited. "So, Percy and I hang out on one Saturday a month. This month, we were going to go to a museum, a movie, then go rock climbing, and finish it off at dinner.

"His little sister is sick, and he has to watch her. Piper is busy, so I was wanting to know if you wanted to come with. Everything's already paid for, so I don't want to waste the money," Annabeth said as she started to awkwardly trail off.

"I'll go," Reyna said with a shrug. "What time?"

"Ten in the morning. I can pick you up if you want," Annabeth offered as a small smile slid onto her face. Reyna smiled back.

"Sounds great. What time are you guys normally done?" Reyna asked.

"About seven. If that's not too late," Annabeth began.

"It's not," Reyna promised. "Nico wanted to have a gaming night, which is perfect because he wants to start at eight."

"Perfect," Annabeth said with a smile. "Ten in the morning tomorrow, and I'll pick you up. It's a date."

A blush came to Reyna's face, and she quickly hid her face. Annabeth felt her own blush starting, but she wasn't sure why. Annabeth cleared her throat, "I'll text you when I'm on the way."

"Sounds good," Reyna said as she stood. She put her earbuds in and grabbed another packet of yogurt. Annabeth turned her head to see Piper grinning wickedly. Annabeth turned to put enough distance between the two of them. The she-devil followed her.

"It's a date?" Piper teased as she stepped into the hall.

"Shut up," Annabeth retorted impatiently.

"You said it. Not me," Piper deflected. Annabeth balled her fist up. Piper held her hands up in defense. "It was just a joke!"

"A ridiculous one," Annabeth stated. Piper lowered her hands and gave her a small nod to show that she really believed it. Annabeth shook her head. It was a silly notion. She didn't have a crush on Reyna of all people. No matter how much Piper teased her. "If you'll excuse me, I'm going back to film."

"Whose film are you watching?" Pier teased. A yelp hit her as Annabeth hit her harder than she meant to. "Okay!"

"I'm sorry," Annabeth said quickly.

"It's okay," Piper dismissed. "I know you're all nervous for your date."

Annabeth glared, and Piper cackled as she ran down the hallway and out of hitting range. Annabeth glanced behind her, but it was ridiculous. They were just friends. Nothing more.
