A/N - Apologies, another one at the end for those who kindly interacted in the reviews.

Arizona pulled up to Callie's door the following morning, she was early so texted her person to let her know she was outside and to come out when ready. She sat waiting, repeatedly tapping her thumbs on the wheel, replaying last night through her mind, a mixture of emotions coming to the front.

She's trusted you with her heart, again Robbins, you absolutely do not mess this up. Your person has found it in her to forgive you and rebuild a life with you. You have your family back, you've got a seco… thir… oh who knows, could even be tenth chance. But you took it for granted every time, never worked out the issues. But that was the old Callie & Arizona, you now have to talk, communicate, doesn't matter how painful it is. Do not let this go.

She knew Callie would never forget what happened, and she wouldn't expect or even ask her to. I mean what was the saying? 'Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.' It's not the original source but Churchill's version would do for now. She failed to talk to Callie, failed to air her insecurities, failed to address her PTSD, failed to articulate, well, everything and of course failed to keep her wedding vowels. All these mistakes of the past, they simply cannot be forgotten, because you have to learn from them.

A mistake is defined as 'an error in action, calculation, opinion, or judgment caused by poor reasoning, carelessness, insufficient knowledge, etc'. Because of that, she knew Boswell could not be defined as a mistake, not really. But her mistake in not seeking help, not taking time to understand the call, not talking or listening to Callie… lead to the most regretful decision she could ever have made. She felt a sharp pain in her chest just thinking about it.

It was true what she said the night before, she was not herself after the crash, not for a good long while. She didn't feel good enough for her wife, her child or the world, and she knows, she knows with everything she has, that if they had talked, if she had listened, if she had the confidence in herself, it would never have happened. She'll hold onto that knowledge.

And that's why with all of her conviction, she knew it would never happen again.

"Hey, where'd you go? You seemed a million miles away." Callie opened the car door and gingerly got in, she was nearly there recovery wise. She still couldn't do long or strenuous surgeries, but she had still scrubbed in to offer assistance on complex ortho cases.

Snapped out of her thoughts, she wasn't sure what to expect after the night before. Anger? Hurt? Apathy? When she looked up, and took a second to study those eyes, she just saw love. Love had always been there, it had just been hidden by sadness, hurt and erugh, what she deemed pity, since the crash. But Callie told her she forgave and trusted her, and Calliope Torres doesn't have a filter, she doesn't lie. "Just thinking how lucky I am, to be given another chance at this."

The ortho surgeon could see the self-doubt, again. She knew would need to reassure her person, she stood by her assertion last night, nobody is perfect. And really, if you need to maybe tell someone they're worth it every day, is it really a hardship? She produced a genuine smile of awe, she was in love. "Me too, I'm feeling pretty lucky myself right now."

Smiling and shaking her head, as if that would keep the blushes at bay, she forced a change of subject to hopefully transfer the blushes from her to her person. "No Mr Teddington Bear I see?"

"No, he's manning the house, so you'll just have to say what he says to make up for it." Damn, her attempt to tease had failed, but Callie's want to hear how much Arizona loved her in person was well worth losing that battle.

"In that case, 'your girlfriend loves you'."

"Great! Let's go see her."

Arizona feigned hurt, "Calliope! Mean."

After a ride full of flirting, teasing and laughter, the blonde pulled into her specially reserved spot at the hospital. She resisted the urge to lean in for an embrace or see if she could chance a kiss, but her thoughts were interrupted by a pager. "Argh, Altman, early ortho consult; I'll see you later?"

To ask or not to ask, request or not to request… Robbins you wimp.

Once again, as if hearing her thoughts, Callie lent over the centre console and gave Arizona a kiss on the cheek. When the blonde turned to return the exchange, a chaste one on the lips followed. It was everything. As Callie rushed out (as quickly as her body allowed for anyway), Arizona took her time in gathering her things and made her way in, grinning from ear to ear.

Arizona only had one surgery planned for the day so would spend the majority of it following up with existing patients. Flipping through a chart, she heard a very blunt noise come from behind. "Are you gonna behave?"

Arizona knew who it was and probably knew what it was in relation to, but Cristina wasn't either Callie's or hers confidant, so she faked ignorance. "Excuse me?"

"I saw my friend last time you hurt her and I've struggled to regain respect for you." She quickly added, "As a person, not as a surgeon, you're a very good surgeon." It's the sort of compliment Cristina would be pleased to receive, she didn't care what people thought about her personally, just as a surgeon. But not everyone felt like that, and it struck a nerve.

"I don't know what you're talking about Dr Yang, and I'll remind you-"

"Cut the crap Roller Girl, everyone knows about you and Torres, you've not exactly been discreet… plus we got Meredith on the tequila, so she spilled pretty quick."

The blonde rolled her eyes; Grey Sloan would never change. She was curious though, if everyone knew then they'd all have an opinion. "So, I mean, what are people saying?"

Cristina shrugged as if it was no big deal. "They kinda ship you. It's sickening really, but it's true. Even I do, in a sense, with conditions obviously." Her apathetic comments turned serious. "But Torres has a lot of friends round here, friends she established before you rolled on in..."

Oh gee, thanks.

Cristina was not letting up. "…You know what you did was wrong, and I put my neck on the line with Torres and said you can be trusted." That last line surprised her to say the least. Like Callie, the cardio surgeon had no filter, and said what she thought, whether you liked it or not. "You've addressed it though, right." It wasn't a question.

Accepting it was pretty much public knowledge, she saw no harm. "Yes, Callie & I have-"

"No", her tone sharp. "I meant some sort of support group, therapy or whatever." Staring at the visibly confused sight in front of her, she continued. "It's not just about the affair, yeah, I think you moved on, but what if something triggers it? You read about a plane crash? There's a craniofacial surgery? There's a big ol' storm approaching Seattle? You did your psych rotation; you don't just get over PTSD."

Secretly, Arizona made a promise to herself last night that she would seek help. She was tired of running from the ghosts of her past. She was going to go therapy, a support group, or both. She'd continue to talk to Callie of course, but after hearing her own answers to the questions, something clicked. She didn't owe Yang an explanation but knew how fiercely protective she was. With the same force and tone she'd been receiving, the blonde locked Cristina's focus with unwavering assertion. "I'm not going to hurt her Yang, not again", she paused, "and I will be getting help." With that, Arizona was gone, chart clutched tight to her chest, leaving the surprised, but quietly proud, Queen of cardio behind.

Meanwhile Callie was lost in thought as she took a break in the attending's lounge. Her conversation with Arizona, the questions & answers, the blonde's reaction to Simon's attack and looking after her whilst she recovered replaying in her mind. A lot had happened in such a short space of time, there was a lot to process. Years ago, she promised herself she would not dwell on it anymore, not to obsess and instead choose forgiveness. It was hard, it would always hurt, but to achieve peace and experience any quality of life, she had to close that chapter.

A quiet but firm voice pulled her from her thoughts. "She doesn't feel like she's good enough for you." She looked up, she was greeted by the very nervous looking Dr Kepner.

Ah Dr Kepner, amazing surgeon, great friend to Arizona but for some reason, petrified of me.

Callie wasn't sure whether she liked or hated it. "Excuse me, Dr Kepner?"

"Arizona," she stuttered. "I- I might be out of line here Dr Torres, b- but hear me out. Please." Callie folded her arms, indicating she could continue. "She'll probably kill me for telling you this, but she's my friend, and I- I- feel like I have to protect her. You always liked men before Dr Hahn came along-"

She didn't see that coming. "Are you here to discuss my sexual orientation and history, Dr Kepner?"

She stumbled further into the room. "No! Well, I- I mean yes. You'd never looked at a woman before Dr Hahn. You're super Catholic and wanted a family with the white picket fence-"

The redhead was treading a fine line. "Get to the point, Kepner."

She was floundering. "Well, Arizona couldn't give you a child, she didn't want one. But you did, and even after Gary Clarke, an- and Africa", she was losing her train of thought. After taking a moment to compose herself, she stood firm. Deep breath. "Mark, a guy, gave you a baby like that. He gave you what you wanted, what you and Arizona broke up over. You were supposed to be in love and the one thing you wanted, you got from someone else. She felt surplus to requirements." After an awkward silence, April sighed. "I'm just saying Dr Torres, please, please don't dismiss her and her insecurities." A final pause. "Don't hurt her again."

Arizona's confidence, or lack there of, had been brought up a few times recently. If the person in front of her was Teddy, she may have extended their conversation. Instead, she nodded as if to illustrate she'd take it under advisement. "You're a good friend Dr Kepner."

Arizona had been kept late due to her one and only surgery being delayed due to being bumped for an incoming trauma. She hadn't spoken to or even seen Callie since the morning and was missing her already. Whilst waiting for her OR to clear, she got out her phone.

Arizona: "Hey, busy day?"

The reply was almost instant.

Calliope: "A few consults but mainly research, Bailey has completely removed me from surgery when I winced earlier."

Arizona: "Oh no, that sucks, sorry. I had an interesting conversation with Yang earlier"

Calliope: "Funny, I had one with Kepner too"

Arizona: "She pretty much threatened me not to hurt you"

Calliope: "Same!"

Arizona: "Are we getting the 'hurt her and I'll hurt you' speeches?"

Calliope: "LOL! I think we are"

Arizona: "Shoulda known we couldn't keep this a secret"

Calliope: "It's my fault, I picked Grey! I've made you dinner by the way, just needs heating up in the oven. Sof is asleep, want me to wait up?"

Callie wanted to wait up, Arizona wanted her to wait up, but there was slight hesitation on both sides. Still, you don't cover hard topics and work on your issues only to become awkward after. Bit counterproductive.

Arizona: "Is it bad if I say yes? I've missed you today"

Calliope: "Not at all, I was hoping you'd say yes, and I've missed you too"

Dimples.

Arizona: "I should only be a couple of hours, I'll text you when I'm out. Love you x"

Heart in the mouth, will she say it bac-

Calliope: "Love you too, see you soon x"

Dimples for days. "Awesome."

A/N - First of all I'd just like to say thank you for those who interacted in the review section after my last couple of chapters. Everyone was respectful and I appreciate it. There were some concerns that Callie forgave too quickly after everything and in a lot of respects I completely agree, but I can't linger that part of the story for too long. There are a lot of subjects to cover, lots of fun village interaction and of course lots of fluff that I want to include. So whilst not entirely believable, I hope you can forgive the near implausible turnaround time. I am definitely done on this subject now though.

Again thank you for your time, C&A forever, despite how hard Greys made/make it.
