The dictionary defines 'Attending' as the following:

'Attending, [ uh-ten-ding ]

adjective

1. having primary responsibility for a patient.

2. holding a staff position in an accredited hospital.

3. gossiping & meddling in their friends' business.'

Which is extremely apt, seeing as that's exactly what this bunch were doing. It was by chance Meredith and Teddy found their selves in the attending's lounge together, they were the two entrusted in keeping the secret that was absolutely no longer a secret.

She took a seat. "Hey, nice valve repair earlier, patient gonna be okay?"

Teddy lifted her head from the magazine. "Yep, all post-ops looked good, I'm gonna check on him before I leave." There was a brief pause, and a knowing look exchanged. "So, erm, I guess we're actually allowed to talk about… you know."

"Yeah, how's Arizona holding up?"

"Good, I think, she's so happy Callie is staying. They've been on a few dates and enjoyed days out with Sofia, I haven't seen her this happy in a long time."

"Same with Callie, she mentioned they danced in a parking lot the other night. I know she would have loved that, one of her favourite things to do pre-crash was dance with Arizona."

There was a regretful sigh. "It was one of Arizona's too."

Quiet reflection hung in the room; the crash really had been the catalyst for their eventual demise. They had both changed and neither knew how to adapt to their new way of life. It wasn't something that was planned, it wasn't something they were/could ease into, and it certainly wasn't something that would eventually revert back to how it was before. This was huge, permanent adjustment for them, and they lost sight of what was important - the three of them as a family. It was a sobering thought, but they were seeing the light through the trees, had tackled subjects they had previously let fester and were more in love now than ever. What was even more amazing was-

"Have they had sex yet?" Enter one Cristina Yang.

Well that ruined the warm sentiment. "Callie hasn't mentioned anything, has Arizona?"

"No, I mean she wants to, when I saw her the other night, but she doesn't want to push it."

"Pffft, they blatantly want to rip each other's clothes off." Cristina looked between both women, impatience clear in her voice. "Well one of you needs to ask, you're their go to people or whatever."

Teddy furrowed her brows. "I have, we can't keep-"

"Look, I have a list I need to compl- I mean I care about my friend; her happiness means the world to me etc etc... so yeah, one of you needs to find out that info ASAP? And another thing-"

The door flung open. "DUDE! Robbins is totally wearing her necklace."

"Karev, we could have been talking women's problems, you can't just barge in."

"Yang, this is a common area, if you want to talk about…" he waved his hands in the air, "… then do it elsewhere or just accept that people are gonna hear. And we're all doctors anyway. So, who won the necklace question?"

Cristina retrieved a well-worn piece of paper from her lab coat as the peds surgeon leaned in. "Err… well I haven't seen Torres, but Arizona-"

"-Guys, we have multiple trauma's coming in, all hands-on deck." Owen's sudden appearance and announcement put a stop to the discussion.

Without another word, all got up and started to head to the ER, with Cristina and Alex bringing up the rear. Before they exited, she turned round, a stern finger pointed in his face. "Before anyone is declared the winner on that one, someone needs to have seen it. Until then, you got nothing Karev." He scowled as they followed their colleagues to the pit.

A few hours later, a very tired, very shattered set of attendings were sprawled out at Meredith's frat house. After their hellish time in the ER, she along with Cristina, April, Alex, Amelia and Teddy were halfway through a bottle of tequila, Thai food and a copious amount of wine. Except for Amelia of course, enjoying her water and the sight of her friends becoming increasingly drunk and obsessing over Callie and Arizona. All were slightly buzzed.

Meredith was on the sofa, back against the armrest whilst Cristina occupied the opposite spot. April was on the floor, being propped up by the table. Amelia had snagged the armchair which Alex was leaning against, also on the floor, and Teddy was sprawled across the second sofa. Yes, it had been a hard day.

April: I mean, it's Ca'ie and 'rizona, the-they're made f-for each other you know? They're silly, how can silly people be doctors? Dr Silly and Dr… erm…

Amelia: Kepner, how much have you had?

April: Pffft no0oOo0OoOOo0oo, I've only had…erm…

Meredith: Do you think they're having sex now?

Cristina: Someone should text them.

Teddy: Wh- who had sex?

Meredith: No, are they having sex.

Alex: Dude, can we not, boss is like Robbins and sister i-is like erm…

April: Torres.

Teddy's head shot up.

Teddy: Where?!

Amelia's surveyed the room, how had they got onto this topic?

Amelia: Is this normal for you guys by the way?

Meredith: Oo oo oo, we- we should text Bailey.

Amelia: Noo, nope you are not texting the Chief-

Teddy: I had sex with Owen.

Amelia: Oookaaay we are definitely revisiting tha- Meredith who are you texting?

Meredith was already composing some sort of incoherent message.

Meredith: Bailey, she will tell us if they're getting laid, she has to, she-she's our boss.

Amelia: That's not how it works- give me your phone.

Cristina: Don't do it Mer- text Torres and Roller Girl, or just Torres, you know what, I'll text-

Teddy: It was good, he was good. Do you think I'd like lesbian sex?

Cristina: Not as much as Arizona.

April: Arizona likes Callie sex, I know, sh- she told me. A lot. Apparently, in an on-call room once, a patient heard screaming from there an- and Jackson walked in and-

Amelia: Don't finish that sentence Kepner.

Alex: Wh- where's our list?

Cristina: My locker, I'm sad.

Meredith: Should we go to the hospital and get it?

April: I can drive.

Teddy: Shot gun!

Amelia: Oh for god's sake- NO, you all need to-

Cristina: MER! Your phone went off!

Teddy: What does it say?

Amelia put her head in hands, this wouldn't be good.

Amelia: Oh my god…

Meredith: Sh- she said, am I drunk?!

April: Rude.

Teddy: Sh- should I text Owen? I'm gonna text Owen.

Amelia had enough. She shot up and grabbed every phone, except for Meredith's, who had quickly shoved it in her bra. "Listen, guys, no more talking about Callie and Arizona's sex life." She addressed them individually. "April, you absolutely cannot drive. Teddy, for god's sake wait until morning before you contact Owen. Meredith, I'm trusting you not to send anymore texts. Cristina, stop encouraging people and Alex… actually you've not been too bad."

"Go on Mer!" Amelia turned to see her sister-in-law finishing off a text, Cristina egging her on (what did she just say?!). Sigh, she had tried her best, but she was essentially babysitting a bunch of school children, she could only do so much.

April struggled up and made her way, rather unsteadily, towards the twisted pair and grabbed Meredith's phone. She concentrated on the message and the look of confusion quickly turned into one of amusement. She passed the phone round the room; each occupant taking their time to scan, and subsequently laugh, at its contents. Alex was last as he held it up to Amelia to read.

Meredith: You got laid yet?
