A/N So here is the third round all in one go. I wanted to keep the focus on the family more than anything.
The first battle started with a glacier taking over the stage and nearly freezing half the crowd. As Shoto froze Sero and his attack before being declared the winner, he never took his gaze off the stands where Izuku was sitting.
Itsuka
Next, it was Tsu and Itsuka's turn to take the field for their first fight at the start of the third round; they waved to the crowd and stopped to wave up to where Inari was seated with All-Might as Midnight explained the rules again before they shook hands and stepped back.
At Midnight's call, the fight began, and Itsuka sprang forward, hoping to close the distance quickly; it worked, surprising Tsu, who expected Itsuka to act more defensive than press the attack. The surprise only lasted a second as Tsu cartwheeled back, forcing Itsuka to move her head to avoid the up-kick. As Tsu was on her hands, she spun low, forcing Itsuka to jump over a leg sweep. Tsu's quickness gave her the advantage, as she suddenly jumped up, grabbed Itsuka's legs, and threw her back to the ground so hard that it nearly knocked Itsuka out.
Itsuka shook off the blow in time to roll out of the way a falling knee strike from Tsu. Itsuka sprang to her feet, slipped under a spin kick, and landed a solid shot to Tsu's ribs, her fist enlarging at the last moment, lifting Tsu off her feet. Tsu grabbed Itsuka's hand and spun over the top, landing a kick that separated the two fighters. Tsu crouched low, and her tongue lashed out to grab Itsuka, hoping to yank her feet out.
Itsuka blocked the attack with her hand, but surprisingly, she grabbed hold of it, quickly coiling it around her hand; before Tsu could yank it back, Itsuka engaged her quirk on that hand and yanked Tsu off her feet towards Itsuka, who met her friend with an enlarged fist to the face. Tsu landed a thudding leg kick that dropped Itsuka to one knee, but she didn't release her hold on Tsu's tongue; Itsuka dodged the follow-up knee. She yanked Tsu's head to the side and delivered an enlarged uppercut to the gut. Tsu tried to recover, but Itsuka kept pulling her around, landing blows till a right cross to the head sent Tsu down for the count. Itsuka released Tsu's tongue and cradled the girl's head till Tsu regained consciousness with a groan.
Tsu got to her feet, and the two girls, remembering their promise to Inari, hugged as the crowd cheered at the show of sportsmanship before Itsuka helped Tsu to the back.
Izuku squeezed Itsuka's hand as they passed each other in the hall. Instead, they would have shared a kiss, but Tsu's presence stopped them.
"Don't let me stop you," Tsu said quietly. Itsuka's eyes went wide. "I can see it; go kiss him, Kero. I won't say anything, but you can tell me about it on the way to the infirmary." Itsuka blushed before she ran and spun Izuku around, pressing him against the wall and kissing him deeply. She went to pull away, but he pulled her back in for another round. Their knees felt weak before she ran back to Tsu and left him to catch his breath.
"Thank you Tsu," Itsuka said.
"Well, I am glad to know he has someone he cares about," Tsu smiled. "He is rather handsome, and I didn't want to intrude on anything if he was spoken for."
"You like him?" Itsuka stammered.
"I think he is handsome, a good person, and a good parent to Inari," Tsu answered. "I wouldn't have minded getting to know him better to see if there was something there, but if he has a girlfriend, I can stick to just being friends. Ribbit."
"I would like us to be friends," Itsuka smiled.
"We can do that," Tsu said as they entered the medical center.
Izuku vs. Ibarra
Izuku and Ibarra received cheers as they entered and took their place in the center of the ring. "I am afraid that despite how much Inari is looking forward to Disneyworld, I cannot allow you to advance any further," Ibarra said.
Izuku smiled, "I hope that after this match, you will be able to forgive me for claiming victory."
"Begin!" called Midnight.
Ibarra's vines lashed out around Izuku's limbs and lifted him into the air. "Please yield, as I have no wish to harm you."
Izuku smirked, the green lightning surrounding his body, and the crowd cheered as he ripped himself free, landing on the stage once again. Ibarra vines lashed out again, attempting to grab him. The crowd cheered as he dodged past each attempt, dancing through her attacks with incredible grace. She threw up a wall as he closed the distance; he tore through it like it was nothing. Her eyes went wide when he was suddenly in front of her. She felt the punch land in her gut; the wind left her as everything went dark.
Izuku caught her in his arms, preventing her from falling, and lifted her. He looked at Midnight, who declared him the winner. Lightbulbs flashed as he carried her from the arena like a princess. Momo and Itsuka shook their heads, knowing the speculation would run wild now.
Ibarra awoke partway down the hall, blushing furiously; she informed him that she could walk without his assistance. Izuku escorted her to the medical ward before rejoining his class. As he came to the top of the steps, he was greeted with teasing comments about how he had carried Ibarra from the field like a bride. He tried to defend himself, but they shut him down, continuing to tease him. Itsuka and Momo crossed their arms and turned away in mock anger before laughing at their blushing boyfriend and letting him sit with them as he hung his head.
Devils Castle
"See for all your bravado; see how effortlessly your brother wins the hearts and imagination of the masses," All for One said. "He not only secured victory in a single blow, he took the girl into his arms and carried her from the field. I bet there will be a flood of comments wishing to be held by him or that he could carry them to the bedroom, no questions asked."
"They are naïve," Neito said, anger permeating every word. "Let they fawn over that false heir, those sycophants; I will go and show them the folly of their ways when he lies broken at my feet. I will have them worshipping me, Father. I will bend them to my every while and desire."
Unknown Apartment
"No, don't you dare touch him," Himiko screamed. She was on the ground, reaching out towards the television. "He belongs to Suijin and me, and don't you see he is ours!" She sobbed as he walked off the screen.
Tournament Continues
The trio watched as Mina and Toru took to the field. Toru's uniform took the brunt of Mina's attacks, and Toru just went straight at her. It threw Mina off her game, as she expected Toru to dodge the attacks, not run through them. They crashed to the ground in a tangle of limbs as Toru, the more experienced grappler, tried to hinder Mina. Mina muttered an apology as she used her acid to burn Toru or slip out of her friend's grip to try and take a dominant position. Toru relentlessly attacked off her back; Mina tried to avoid the triangle choke. Mina tried to break free; she was about to release her acid, but she couldn't bring herself to do it and succumbed to the submission maneuver, tapping out.
Once they were in the tunnel, no one could see Toru's face, as she was a bit upset with her friend.
"Why did you tap out?" Toru said. "You could have just secreted acid till I was forced to let you go."
"I know; I was going to, but I hesitated," Mina responded. "I didn't want to permanently injure you if it got in your eyes or something. I was about to do it but remembered who I was fighting. I am sorry, Toru. I know we said we would do our best, but…I couldn't risk hurting you."
"Thank you for holding back," Toru said, hugging Mina tight. "Silly alien."
"Stupid naked invisible girl," Mina said, hugging her back.
"You know you like it," Toru teased before they went to the infirmary.
Katsuki vs Eijiro
Katsuki shook hands with Eijiro, to the boy's surprise, before, of course, declaring he would obtain absolute victory.
The crowd cheered and recoiled from the brutality of the battle, with Eijiro taking a large amount of punishment but refusing to submit. The crowd was on his side when he barreled through a massive blast from Katsuki and tackled him to the ground. They exchanged devastating blows as Eijiro seized upon his opportunity to try and win the battle. Katsuki had taken advantage of his range to punish Eijiro and keep him away from landing anything, but now Eijiro's armored fists were doing heavy damage.
Katsuki had trained his body and fighting ability, and so had Eijiro. Eijiro had one of the best physiques in the class, and the boy was one of the strongest naturally, coming in just under Sato. So once he got on top of Katsuki, it quickly became anyone's fight. Eijiro's undoing was that he, as of yet, couldn't armor his whole body, and with him right on top of Katsuki, he could feel that Eijiro's lower body was open. After several point-blank blasts to Eijiro's legs, he was forced off of Katsuki, who then would switch his targets so rapidly that Eijiro couldn't keep up. When Eijiro finally fell unconscious, Katsuki fell to one knee and looked like he had just exited a war. Bruises and gashes were all over his head and arms; he was having trouble breathing, but both were smiling when the match ended, and he was declared the winner.
When Ochaco and Tenya took the field for their battle, Momo excused herself to go to her locker room. Her fight was next with Fumi and Dark Shadow. Dark Shadow had accepted a slight risk of losing Apple privileges for a day, but as Izuku assured the quirk that Inari wouldn't stop watching movies with him, it settled Dark Shadow down.
Momo
Momo sat in her locker room alone, having told her partners that she wanted to be alone before the match. She watched Ochaco and Tenya fighting it out, not envying the winner as they had Katsuki in their future.
She closed her eyes and let her mind focus on the task, quickly running formulas for the battle through her mind as she formulated her plan. She also thought of the USJ of when Inari was taken, of how helpless she felt when she couldn't get to her daughter to save her. She thought of All for One and Nieto and how they were still out there, probably watching this broadcast, scheming and plotting. She thought of Nieto's fascination with her; she shivered at the thought of him touching her or trying to claim her.
She shuddered at the lustful thoughts he must have had; she instead turned her thoughts to Izuku and Itsuka of how they made her feel in those intimate moments, the longing and fire they ignited in her. She blushed, thinking of the weekend ahead of them and of spending time at a hot spring. Even if Izuku didn't win, they would still share a room alone. She smiled, thinking of sharing a bed; she decided she wanted to enjoy that experience, her body heating up at the thought.
But she knew she wanted her moments with them; tonight, she would stay with Izuku, and tomorrow night, she would explore with Itsuka. She felt her resolve building as Izuku and Itsuka won their first matches, and Izuku had already won twice. She would not be left behind; she wanted to reach the finals no matter what she had to go through. She tried to stand across that arena from either Izuku or Itsuka and show the world that Momo Yaoyorozu was not to be taken lightly. Show Neito and All for One that she was not some prize for them to claim like a princess in a tower. She wanted to make them and Inari proud; she even wanted to impress All-Might. Let the number one hero know that his son and granddaughter were in capable hands with her.
Fumi and Dark Shadow were good friends but were obstacles in her path today. She was not ready to go gently into that good night. She saw Ochaco be declared the winner by ring out, and it was now time for her to step onto the stage and show the world her resolve.
When she entered the arena, she gave a brief smile to the crowd and waved to where Inari sat before she focused on the stage, blocking everything else out. The crowd noise faded away, and everything else did as well. There was only the stage, Fumi, Dark Shadow, and her. She heard the call to begin, and she raced forward.
Dark Shadow moved to engage, and when they saw her body glow, it made him hesitate; that cost him as it allowed Momo to create a staff that slowly sprang from her hand; the staff's tips were much more significant than usual, a bulbous orb at each end. Dark Shadow came in to strike. She slid under the attack and stepped into the shadow. Momo's entire body lights up an electric blue, forcing Dark Shadow back. Fumi moved to engage, but Momo's quick jab with her staff doubled him over. Dark Shadow came into attack as the area around Momo's eyes glowed, and dark goggles came out; the ends of the staff slid back, revealing orbs of light on both ends that prevented Dark Shadow from attacking. She spun the staff, sweeping Fumi's legs; Dark Shadow pulled back and exploded out, driving Momo back. She spun the staff around her back and above her head, the light dancing across the field. Dark Shadow was hit across the face. It tried to call out in pain, but a rising hit under his jaw silenced him. Fumi was on his feet; he swung clumsily, ducked under and around, taking his back; she hooked the staff behind her and under his chin, lifting and flipping him over. Dark Shadow recovered enough to hit her in the stomach, knocking her knees; Russian nesting dolls tumbled out as she fell back, covering her head. The explosions around Fumi and Dark Shadow were deafening cacophony of sound and light. The last thing Fumi saw was the light end of the staff coming across his cheek.
She stumbled to her feet, pulling the earplugs away and the goggles free as the crowd roared at her victory, with some chants of her name filling the stadium. She waited until the medical robots came to claim Fumi, walking alongside it as they exited the arena.
She ate protein bars as she returned to her classmates, blushing as they congratulated her on her dominant victory. She smiled at the food Itsuka and Izuku had waiting for her. She sat and ate, thankful for their forethought as Setsuna and Juzo took the arena.
She paid close attention to the fight as the winner would be her next opponent; Itsuka whispered how amazing she was before excusing herself to prepare for her battle with Shoto. The class whispered their theories, watching the three of them interact and how they would touch when they thought no one was looking.
Juzo softened the arena floor and sank into it as Setsuna separated and took to the skies. Juzo would have to come up to breathe periodically, and that was when Setsuna would launch an attack. She had to strike quickly and retreat or risk having a piece of her trapped. Juzo couldn't launch an effective counterattack as Setsuna was just out of reach, so it became a game of Juzo trying to grab whatever Setsuna attacked with. Set had lost a hand and most of a leg; sweat was beading off her as she stayed airborne as much as possible. Finally, it looked like she had reached her end when she reassembled and sank to the ground, almost resigned to her fate.
Juzo saw her sinking, but she suddenly stopped at waist level. Juzo trapped her and began to launch his attack; he came up and landed some blows, his confidence building as she struggled to defend herself; he saw her try and separate but fail. Emboldened, he came at her full strength from behind, where she couldn't turn to defend herself. He went for a knockout blow to the back of her head; as his punch landed, his heart nearly fell out of his body as her head lifted off her shoulders, and he realized she had pulled him into her trap. Her arms came unrestrained and coiled around his neck, pulling him from the ground; he struggled to break free, and she took the opportunity to land bites on his arms and hands when they tried to pull her arms away, and he eventually lost consciousness from being choked, and Setsuna was declared the victor.
Inari
Inari sat in her VIP booth; she would change which lap she was sitting in, but she was having fun with Neji and Mirio, who were playing with her and having a grand time. She didn't like watching the fights, not even when her daddy was fighting, as Ibarra was nice. She looked away, hiding her face in Nejire or her grandpa's shoulder, not wanting to see the fights. She would look when the winner was declared and let out little cheers, but she still didn't like it.
"Why do they have to fight?" she asked Mirio. "I don't like it."
"It is a contest to show who is the strongest," he said after a pause. "I am sure they don't like fighting each other either or making you upset. But they are doing this so they learn how to get stronger and keep you and all the other little boys and girls out there safe."
"Why can't they just have a tickle fight?" Inari asked, completely serious.
"Because they have to show people they can fight and protect them," Nejire said, stroking Inari's head. "Everyone is watching, and this is the chance for your family to show everyone that they are training hard to be heroes."
Inari stopped and thought about it hard. " Okay…I still think a tickle fight would be better."
Shoto Vs. Itsuka
Itsuka took a deep breath before she stepped out to face Shoto; he had been introduced first and was staring at her as she walked out. She knew she was overmatched but wasn't about to lie down for him or anyone else.
"Do not take this defeat personally," he said as he bowed and stepped back.
Itsuka readied herself; like his previous match at the word go, he sent a massive ice attack her way. Itsuka stepped forward, turning her hips, and threw the most brutal punch she could, expanding her fist at the last second to add extra force; she grimaced in pain. She heard bones crack as it impacted, but it stopped the attack from freezing her in place. She saw the ice was cracked from where she stuck it; she thought of Inari, Izuku, and Momo; she looked to the sky and thought of Suijin and Inko. Watch over me, she whispered. She stuck the ice again, and the crack widened again and again. On the fourth hit, her hand was broken, but the ice broke out.
Shoto sent another attack, but it was much smaller than the first. Izuku leaned forward; the crowd that had gone silent at the first attack roared as she broke free and were screaming themselves horse when she dodged the second attack and punched Shoto in the face.
Shoto stumbled and went to send a third attack, but a brutal leg kick knocked him down to one knee; Itsuka landed an enlarged punch to his side, sending him tumbling away. He nearly fell out of the arena, but a wall of ice halted his momentum. She pushed forward and swung again; it was intercepted by a thick wall of ice that damaged her other hand. She spun to the side of the wall, only to be struck by a pillar of ice that came rocketing out, hitting her in the gut and sending her flying. Shoto scrambled to his feet, sending a wave of ice spikes towards Itsuka; she went low and fired an uppercut to break off the tips at her. She tried to move to the left but slipped; she saw Shoto breathing heavily, bleeding from the mouth, his body frosted over; she rolled and pushed off, charging in once again. She saw him extend his hand and swipe it across his body; she watched in horror as all the ice on the field fell over her like a wave, sending her down and into defeat.
Shoto staggered before he turned and glared at the stands where Izuku was sitting. Itsuka was extracted quickly before she was loaded onto the stretcher and rushed to the medical wing.
"I will go to her," Momo said as Kinoko, Set, and Tetsu were already moving. "You have your match." Izuku also wanted to go to her, but he needed to focus.
Izuku Vs. Toru
Izuku took the stage against a very nervous Toru. She was thankful for her quirk so no one could see her nervousness. She had just finished talking with Midnight when he came to the ready position.
Izuku smiled and wished her luck; she did the same before stepping back and waiting for the signal from Midnight. To Izuku's surprise, Toru jumped back and quickly stripped of her U.A. uniform. Izuku fought the blush, thinking Toru was naked; he didn't know that Toru had gotten some of the Gen Fabric-like Momo and was wearing a sports bra and shorts. Izuku shook off the thoughts and attacked, only to get hit by her uniform right in the face. He tossed it aside, ignoring its warmth, and ate a shoe in the face. To the crowd's amusement, he dodged the next one and swung unthinkingly at the spot it had come from.
"Missed me," he heard to his left. He launched a spin kick, hitting nothing but air. She swept his leg, sending him to the ground. He felt her body land on him, going for his arm. He went to the counter when he heard her eep. "Izuku, watch your hand," she whispered.
"Oh shit, I am sorry, Toru," he said quickly, freezing. He felt her legs wrap around his arm and across his chest as she locked in an arm bar. It was then he felt fabric on the back of his arm, and he knew she was wearing clothes and had tricked him, though his arm was nestled between her breasts. "Tricky girl," he said. One For All activated and flexed, breaking her grip easily, and scrambled to his feet; when the lightning came up, it spread out over him and her, revealing her ever so slightly like an outline. File that away for later, he thought.
He got to his feet and stood still as Toru crept around the arena. She did some feints, seeing if he would react, but when he didn't, she launched her silent attack. Her element of surprise was her only option, as she had no hope of overpowering him now that he had turned on his quirk. Her right hook looked like it was about to land true when his head moved just barely out of range, and he kneed her in the gut, lifting her off the ground. She was thankful he was holding back some but knew she couldn't take many of his hits. She dodged the elbow coming towards her back and tried to sweep his legs again, but he could again dodge; she flipped back, and as he swung where she would have been, the gust of wind from the downward punch knocked her off balance.
Toru bit her lip and came in with a quick one-two combination, and she saw him slip just barely again. Then, he landed another blow on her stomach, and an uppercut launched her into the air. She was grabbed out of the air and manhandled as he dragged her to the ground; he was too strong, and she desperately tried to fight off his choke attempt. She fired an elbow as hard as she could into his ribs, hoping to break free; she heard a small grunt as his arm slipped under her chin. She tried to hand-fight his other arm from securing the move, but she was outmuscled.
"I YIELD," she yelled as he began to synch in the reverse choke, and he let go immediately. Half a second later, Midnight called for them to stop.
Izuku helped her to her feet, "that was such a dirty trick," he said.
Toru laughed, "It was, but I knew I needed to try something," Toru said. "But I have to know how you could dodge my hits. Did you see them coming?"
"No, it was instinct," he said when his danger sense allowed him to dodge her attacks.
"Well, make sure you hug me," Toru said. She blushed, feeling his arms go around her; she pulled on a glove as they waived towards the VIP section for Inari. "We have to keep our promise."
"That we do," Izuku said. "Good match, though."
"Thanks…Do you see my other shoe?" they laughed.
Izuku separated from her in the tunnel as he checked on Itsuka. He encountered Set and her group walking back to the student section. "She is awake. Her hand is broken, the other has some damage, and she is freezing, but other than that, she is doing well," Set said.
"Thanks, Set," Izuku said as he walked in to see Itsuka under heated blankets. He saw her fighting to fall asleep, holding Momo's hand. He went over, took her hand, and kissed her forehead. "Rest, Itsu," he whispered.
"Kick his ass, baby," she responded sleepily. "I love you both," she managed as her eyes closed.
Momo blushed as she whispered her love in Itsuka's ear; the two of them sat there with Itsuka holding her hands, whispering as they watched Katsuki and Ochaco take the stage.
Ochaco Vs. Katsuki
Katsuki stepped onto the stage, looking past Ochaco, thinking of either meeting Momo or Setsuna in the next round. He knew Izuku would fight Icy Hot but soon regretted his decision. Ochaco came at him hard and fast, surprising him; he slipped past her left jab, a feint for a right hook, and then put him on his heels. He retaliated by snapping her head back with a jab, but she kicked his leg out from under him and kneed him in the face. He reeled from the blow but recovered enough to dodge her head kick and fire off an explosion at her back, sending her falling to the ground.
She rolled out of the way of his follow-up blast, dust and concrete kicking up. Ochaco tried to close the distance, but Katsuki was focused and kept her at bay, with blasts sending her tumbling away. Ochaco would not quit getting to her feet and coming at him like a rabid animal. He feinted a blast to land a sidekick to her gut; she grabbed his leg, negating his gravity, spun him overhead, and slammed him to the ground. She was restoring his gravity on the downward swing. Katsuki rolled, dodging her head kick; he got to his feet, slipped past her haymaker, and landed an elbow to her forehead, drawing blood.
In her daze, Katsuki fired off another blast, sending her flying; the arena was rife with dust, and he scanned the area, looking for her next attack. He caught a glimpse of her uniform and fired a large blast, sure he had her. Again, Katsuki was wrong; it was just her top; she burst from the smoke, rolled under his wild swing, and slapped him on the back. He felt his gravity being removed; he spun towards her and fired off another explosion that struck her shoulder and sent Katsuki flying back. He tried to balance himself and saw Ochaco press her fingers together. He fell to the ground, and then he saw her plan.
Above him, masked by the smoke and dust, was an avalanche of debris from his explosions, and it all came crashing towards him. There are a few moments in Katsuki's life when he would say that he felt panic; he did the only thing he could think of and fired a blast with everything he had behind it. His shot silenced the crowd; it reached just as high as Shoto's glacier. He stumbled to his feet, holding one arm; Ochaco, exhausted, wiped her mouth and charged.
Her left hook was missed. He tried to counter, but his shoulder was separated, and her back elbow landed. They both stumbled; he landed a kick to their midsection, doubling her over; digging deep, he hit her with an uppercut that lifted Ochaco off her feet, and they both fell to the ground. The crowd held its breath; Katsuki stumbled to his feet, and Ochaco rolled to her stomach and tried to push up off the ground; the crowd chanted her name, and she lifted her head. Katsuki shoved his shoulder back in place and stepped back, raising his fists, ready to fight. Her arms were shaking; she muttered something and fell to the ground unconscious.
Katsuki waited until the medical robots collected Ochaco. Walking alongside the stretcher, he made his way to the familiar confines of the medical center.
Momo Vs. Setsuna
Momo leaned over and kissed Itsuka on the forehead before stealing a kiss from Izuku as she headed for the arena. She shared a look with Katsuki as they passed each other in the hall.
She found Setsuna waiting at the entrance to the arena. "How is she?"
"Resting," Momo said.
"Are you and her…" Set inquired.
"We are," Momo answered. "We are not exactly hiding it, but we are not broadcasting it."
"No, you are broadcasting, and I think that is cute," Set said as she pushed off the wall. "Izuku?"
"Yes, we both care for him," Momo paused. "No, I love them." Set smiled.
"That is good, treat her well. Itsuka is a good person, and I consider her a friend," Setsuna said. "I would like for us to be friends as well."
"I already considered you a friend, Setsuna," Momo said, taking the girl's hand. "You went into battle to get Inari; you didn't hesitate; you fought with everything, were injured, and gave Inari a chance to run. That is what got her away. Whether you consider me so or not, I will always consider you a friend. If you need anything, I will do everything possible."
Setsuna blushed at Momo's words and the sincerity in her voice. Set smiled, "I don't know if you planned to seduce me, but you are off to an amazing start."
Momo blushed and went to pull her hand away, but Set held her fast. "I tease when I get nervous," Set replied. "Thank you, Momo. We are friends. Now, let's go show the world how friends fight!"
The two girls entered the arena together.
Momo and Setsuna stood across from each other as the call to begin rang out. Setsuna immediately broke apart and charged,
A padded headgear sprang from Momo's head just before Set's attack landed. Instead of the standard combat headgear, this one had metal plates along the outside with small spikes that appeared moist at the tips. It was too late for Set to avoid halting or diverting her attack.
Momo bit down on her mouthguard. She ensured they impacted the armored plating as the left and right cross combination landed. She expertly checked Set's leg kick against her shine. She caught her other leg against her side. A syringe appeared in Momo's hand. She plunged it into Setsuna's leg. Set yelled in pain and shouldered Momo away.
Momo stumbled as her legs and arms glowed and similar protective gear appeared. Momo dashed forward and tackled Setsuna's body, jamming another syringe into the body. Set rained down blows on Momo's unprotected back; then her head wobbled in mid-air; her eyes started to close.
"What the hell?" Set's limbs felt heavy. Momo rolled to her feet. A strange gun sprang into her hands. She aimed and fired, and a net bolo came flying out. Set managed to dodge it. She tried to knock the gun from Momo's hands, but Momo held fast, battering Set's limbs with the spiked parts of her armor. Set struggled to maintain consciousness, "What did you do?" Set said as she unconsciously pulled her body back together.
"I sedated you," Momo removing the mouth guard. "I theorized that there had to be some connection between your parts when they separated, they bleed, you feel pain. Then I remembered when I was visiting Itsuka at the dorms; you made Pony give you a taste of her ice cream. You said it tasted good and didn't fall out of your neck."
"You are dangerous," Set said as she slid onto the floor and fell asleep.
"Winner!" Midnight announced. "With the final matches set, we will have a 10-minute break before we return with Todoroki vs. Midoriya and Bakugo vs. Yaoyorozu.
Momo saw Nejire and Mirio sitting outside, watching the door. She stepped in and saw Inari cuddled up with Itsuka. Both their heads turned as she walked in. "Mommy!" Momo came over and sat on the bed, happily bestowing and receiving kisses. "Good job, Mommy!" Inari said. Now you have to fight Uncle Boom Boom."
"If I do, then I will have to fight Daddy," Momo said.
Inari thought sincerely, "Well, give him many kisses when you win." Both girls laughed.
"I will, I promise," Momo laughed. "Where is your daddy?"
"He went to get ready," Itsuka said as Inari fed her a scoop of applesauce.
Izuku
"Why are you taking her to America?" Izuku asked his father.
"There is a hero there, one that I trust explicitly, and I believe they can help keep Inari safe," he said. "And I get to spend some time with my granddaughter."
"Who is this hero?" Izuku said.
"Stars and Stripes," Toshi said like it was no big thing.
"You know Stars and Stripes!" Izuku shouted, and Toshi winced. "Of course you do."
Toshi smiled, "Cathleen? Yes, quirk would be a great asset to helping keep Inari safe, and I know she will be amenable to helping us and me."
"Her quirk?" Izuku said.
Toshi nodded, "I can't go into details, but she is a good woman, and I trust her."
"That is good enough for me," Izuku said. "I will explain it to Momo and Itsuka."
"I am sure they will understand," Toshi said. "May I offer some advice?"
"Always, Dad," Izuku said.
"I know that this weekend," Toshi paused. "Will be full of new experiences and things," they both blushed. "But the first time should be special and alone, without an audience." Izuku and Toshi were both red. "Please don't make me say anymore."
"No, no, I understand," Izuku said quickly.
When Izuku was given the two-minute warning, Toshi placed his hand on his son's shoulder. "Win, my boy; send a message to those cowards."
"I will, Dad," they hugged briefly before Izuku walked out to face Shoto.
Shoto Todoroki
"You have made a spectacle of yourself in calling this Izuku Midoriya out," Endeavor said as Shoto stepped out of his locker room. Shoto growled as he walked down the hall. You better not lose."
"I will not lose," Shoto said. He turned and stalked back to Endeavor, raising a finger to his father's face. I am going to win. I will win this whole thing with only the power of HER ICE. Then, I will rise higher, become the number one hero, and do what I failed to do. I will be the number one hero without your fire."
"To deny your stronger half is FOOLISH SHOTO!" Endeavor roared.
"I am not; I am ignoring the weaker side," Shoto said, stomping off.
He stepped onto the stage and paced back and forth, listening to the dribble Present Mic was saying as Izuku stepped out. He watched him wave to the crowd and the class before stepping on the stage.
Shoto didn't even hear Midnight talking or the crowd; he only listened to the call to begin. One move was that he would need one move to end this; the glacier rocketed out of the crowd behind Izuku and braced. Then it shattered, and the tiny ice flakes danced around the arena. The crowd cheered and snapped photos. "Nice try," Izuku said. "I wondered how I would counter that attack, but Itsuka showed me that while I could brute force my way through it, my mentor showed me that wind pressure could be just as effective."
Shoto growled and sent another glacier, only for it to be destroyed; his body was covered in a thick frost. Izuku walked forward, and Shoto fired another wave much weaker than the others. This one was spiked like the one he had sent at Itsuka; again, Izuku shattered it. There was no ice around for Shoto to use as an avalanche.
All the frost was suddenly ripped painfully from Shoto's body; he screamed. "If you warmed yourself," Izuku said. He was suddenly before Shoto; Shoto tried to move but couldn't dodge as Izuku slapped him across the face. Green Lightening surged over Izuku; Shoto couldn't even see the punches or react to them; in fact, he was trying to use his quirk when all the impacts registered, and he fell to the ground defeated.
Izuku just turned and walked away as the crowd was stunned.
Momo Vs. Katsuki
Katsuki was exhausted. His battles to get here and the treatment he had to receive after each match left him running on fumes. He was now taking the stage against Momo. Before today, he would have called one by name, but that list was growing. Izuku had advanced, had beat the hell out of Icy Hot, and walked past his other matches like it was nothing.
He stared at Momo as she took her stance across from him; he could see a change in her eyes; she was here to prove something. He admired that she was driven to fight for more than herself, probably for the kid, everything a good mother should be. He recognized that look every time his mother would step up for him, even when she shouldn't have, but she couldn't do it. Inari was lucky; she had a good family around her; even her Aunties were stepping up, and her father was a good man.
She had gotten the better of him during the battle trial with goddamn baby powder. He still swore he was washing it out; that stuff had gotten him everywhere, but it was a counter to him that he hadn't thought about; something as simple as absorbing his sweat before he could explode had left him quirkless…the irony was not lost on him.
A prolonged battle favored her; he needed to end it quickly. At the start, he created distance and fired; he was surprised when she did the same, a ballistic shield coming from her back as she ducked behind. The distance was too great; his blast had little to no effect. He saw round glass spheres filled with powder come flying toward him. He cursed, rolled to the side, and ran as more came at him. He broke towards her; she had her shield and a baton in her hand. He slid to a stop and fired; she dropped her shield and tumbled forward at an angle. Katsuki turned to attack when the baton came down across his forearm, nearly breaking it; a sidekick landed, doubling him over, and he spun out of the rising baton strike. He landed a blow to her ribs, and as he did so, he fired a blast, sending her tumbling to the side. A beeping noise at his feet alerted him that he had fallen into her trap.
Around him, round spheres expended, covering the area and him in a white powder. He tried not to breathe it in as he retreated away from where he had last seen her to put some distance. He still had sweat on his palm, so he had to blast the powder away to clear the field. He fired at the smoke and was almost knocked out of the arena.
The explosion that happened was unexpected. A fireball filled the center of the ring. Katsuki stumbled to his feet as Momo emerged from the smoke with a staff in her hands. He managed to avoid the headshot. He slipped to the side, but she cut him off. He was on his heels, and his head was ringing.
She pressed her advantage. He was inches from the edge. She shot him in the gut, then hit his leg, and he started to fall. He put his arms behind him and fired as big of a blast as possible. They crashed together, and her staff tumbled away. Katsuki landed a punch to her ribs; Momo scrambled, trying to get him off of her.
She stumbled to her feet, he lunged, grabbed her leg, and yanked her down. He dove at her with an elbow strike; he saw her hand come up and begin to glow; everything slowed down, and he could see the stun gun coming out; he desperately fired his quirk at her hand and blew it to the side. His forearm landed across her forehead, bouncing her head off the concrete. He advanced his position, kneeling on the arm that held the stun gun, preventing her from using it, as he landed a right cross, snapping her head to the side.
He tried to follow up with a left. She intercepted the blow with her hand as a small metal buckler sprang out. The clang of his fist suddenly impacting metal rang through the arena; he pulled back in pain, and she capitalized by bouncing the buckler off his face on a backhand swing. He tumbled to the side; she rolled and jammed the stun gun into his side. He screamed; he saw the buckler coming down again. He got his arm up to deflect it, but it was the same arm she had hit earlier with the baton, and this time, it broke. Katsuki howled as the stun gun made contact again; it was a brief scream as he fell unconscious.
Momo, breathing heavily and bleeding, stumbled to her feet, ready to keep fighting, when Midnight called the match. The crowd was going crazy as Momo raised her fist into the air, blood pouring down her face. She let loose a primal scream to the sky.
"HOLLY COW, LADIES, AND GENTLEMAN," Present Mic called out. "That was intense; we will have a 20-minute break to repair the arena and give finalists a chance to catch their breath."
Momo made her way to the tunnel. Once away, she stumbled and put her hand against the wall to stabilize herself. She felt an arm slide around her waist; she looked and saw Kyoka, and then she saw Mina, who got on the other side and helped her reach the medical wing. Recovery Girl got to work immediately, trying to help Momo heal up for the final battle. The door opened, and Toru and Itsuka rushed with arms full of food and energy drinks to help her stay awake so she could eat. Kinoko handed her mushrooms that Momo had just eaten without hesitation.
Momo was happy they were all there trying to help her prepare for her next match, her mind drifting to Izuku and what he was thinking. They were going to have to fight each other. She knew she had trepidations about this, but he must be a wreck. She called for a time check, and Kyoka told her to wait 5 minutes. They drew the curtain so she could put on a fresh uniform. She came out, all the girls hugged her and wished her luck. Itsuka grabbed her and kissed her, "I am so proud of you," she said. They had their foreheads pressed against each other; they stood there momentarily, their eyes closed, hands resting on each other's cheeks.
Momo broke contact and walked out the door. The girls were stunned as they stared at Itsuka, who started to blush. The girls began to demand answers, only for the Recovery Girl to tell them to get out as there were still patients recovering.
They all made their way to the stands for the final match.
Izuku vs. Momo
"For everyone in attendance and watching around the world, it is time for the final match of the First Year SPORTS FESTIVAL," Present Mic called out, and the crowd erupted. "Now, entering the arena, this young woman has displayed cunning, ingenuity, guts, grit, and determination; let her hear your support, MOMO YAOYOROZU!"
Momo stepped out to her name being chanted. She offered a brief smile, focusing on the arena. She made sure to wave up to Inari before she closed her eyes and waited.
"And her opponent, entering the arena, the young man who has fought his way here making each fight look easy, the early favorite, the man with an opening address, give it up for IZUKU MIDORIYA!"
Izuku took a deep breath as he stepped out; it was strange to hear the mix of cheers and some boos, as Momo had become the crowd's sentimental favorite, and her matches had been highly contested. She had fought, bled, and battled her way to this moment. He had moved on with relative ease, only Toru causing him any trouble, but that was because he was hesitant to hurt a friend, one of Inari's aunties; now he would have to hurt Momo, Inari's mommy, a girl he loved. He smiled when he waved to Inari, but it immediately fell away as he made what seemed like the mile-long walk to the stage.
Momo could see the conflict on his face, the hesitancy. It pulled at her heart; she wanted to comfort him. She waited for him to step onto the platform, and when Midnight gave them their instructions and encouragement to leave it all on the field, he couldn't even look at her.
They shook hands, barely glanced at her, and they stepped back. Midnight, she called for them to begin. Momo immediately created the buckler again, expecting him to engage, but he hesitated; she made a shotgun in her hand, firing bean bag rounds. His body moved on instinct, dodging the shot; she saw him move towards her; he was going so much slower than she had seen him go in other rounds or when he would train. He fainted and threw an overhand right; she pushed and deflected it up with her shield and fired a point-blank shot to his gut that drove him down to a knee.
She spun, driving the buckler to his head. He raised his arm to block the blow and swept her legs, but instead of pressing, he rolled back and got to his feet.
"Fight me, damnit," she growled at him. The gun fell to the ground as a baton came to her hand. She rushed in, but he dodged her swing. She saw him go to the counter, but he hesitated; she hit him in the chest with the buckler, knocking him back. She hit him in the thigh with the baton; he went down to a knee again; she gritted her teeth, brought the baton down in an overhead swing, and caught her arm; she swung the buckler, and he saw that arm.
The class was stunned. Izuku wasn't fighting back, not really. "He is too conflicted," Niren said.
"Yes, I believe that Inari calling her Mommy is causing him conflict," Ibarra said.
"But he is disrespecting her by not fighting back," Yui said. "She wants to be a hero just as bad as him; if he doesn't give her his best, then…"
"Fight back, Izuku," Itsuka whispered.
"Come on, he needs to fight back," Mezo said.
"Fight back," Mina yelled. Soon, classes 1-A and 1-B in the stands started shouting the same thing. He checked her kicks but held her wrists tight as they struggled in the center of the arena.
"Do you love me?" Momo said, stunned him. She landed a head but to his nose. "DAMNIT, DO YOU LOVE ME!"
"Yes, Momo, you know I do," he responded, dodging another head butt and blocking a knee to his crotch.
"Then damn it, Izuku, fight me," she whispered. "You saved me that day in the alley; I was weak, I forgot my training, and if not for you, I'd be running out of diapers."
"But…" he protested.
"I had trained hard, trained even harder when Inari came into my life, more when she called me mother, more when that bastard tried to take her from us, more when I saw how hard you were working," She swept his leg sending them both to the ground. "I wanted to be a hero all my life; I would still be here trying to do so even if we hadn't fallen in love. But I wouldn't have pushed and worked so hard if it wasn't for you, Itsuka, and Inari. Respect me, love me," she kissed him; the crowd gasped, his grip slackened, and she could free her arms. She hit him with a right cross across the jaw, using the baton as a fist pack. "FIGHT ME!"
Izuku's head wrenched to the side from the blow, and the crowd's cheering faded out. They were all here to be heroes; they had been betrayed, suffered, and found each other. Momo and Itsuka had taught him to love again, that it was okay to love again. Their family had weathered the storm of the USJ; how could he not give his very best against the woman he loved? He knew that Nieto and All for One were watching, the girl who had kidnapped Inari, and Suijin and his mother were watching. He flipped backward, and the green lightning sprang forth as he activated One for All.
Momo blinked, and he was in front of her; she saw the left hook. She brought the shield up to deflect the blow, but he was able to change levels so quickly that he landed a shot to her sore and tender ribs; it jerked her body to the side. She tried to swing the baton, but the tip glowed green and was yanked to the side and away. She was exposed; she knew he would go for her gut; she forced a metal plate out to protect her as his knee made contact; it dented the plate and lifted her off her feet. He grabbed her by her legs and spun to throw her from the arena. She created spikes that pierced through his hands, but he held fast till she was airborne.
She crashed onto the grass and rolled to a stop.
"Match and Winner!" Midnight called.
Momo was on her back, looking up at the sky. There was that sting of defeat, but she was still proud of making it to the final round. She sat up, and he was there in an instant. She smiled and created some bandages, lovingly wrapping his hands; the crowd was cheering as they snapped photos; he pulled her to her feet, and they hugged, whispering I love you to each other, then they turned to the stands and waved, smiling; they had a promise to keep.
Once in the tunnel, she assured him she was fine, just sore for the fifth time. "It is a good thing you didn't break anything, though," she whispered in his ear. Tonight, I am all yours, my love. Every part of me will belong to you tonight."
Izuku blushed, "You mean."
"I want you to make love to me tonight," Momo whispered. "I want to share my first time with you."
He spun her around and pulled her into a passionate kiss. It was the teasing sounds of their classmates that broke them apart. The girls who had seen the moment between Momo and Itsuka looked at them questioningly. "Hey, where is mine, Mr. Champion?" Itsuka said, jumping into his arms and kissing him, making his knees wobble.
"ITSUKA!" Ibarra yelled. Itsuka let go of Izuku and kissed Momo much more tenderly but with just as much passion.
"I FUCKING KNEW IT!" yelled Mineta as the class reacted to everything except Ibarra; she fainted.
