Izuku tensed, ready for battle, as did Itsuka, who moved to his right; Momo had Eri held against her body as she backed down the sidewalk, keeping an eye on the man. She made sure that Itsuka and Izuku were between them.

"Don't do this Overhaul," Izuku said. "Surrender peacefully." Izuku could almost see the sneer under the mask.

"There will be no surrender until this sickness is cleansed until this world is made clean!" Overhaul replied, the madness clear in his eyes. Danger Sense screamed inside of Izuku's head. This man hadn't even moved yet, and Danger Sense was telling him this man was a major threat. Nomu, Shigaraki, levels of danger, if not more.

It all began in slow motion; Overhaul started to kneel, looking to slam his hand on the ground. Green Lightening erupted from Izuku as 50% of One for All sprang to life. Itsuka kicked off her fist enlarging, and Momo jumped back, thankful she had chosen a sleeveless dress for the evening as her arm holding the little girl glowed as Titanium buckler began to emerge from her arm. The little girl closed her eyes and held on tight.

Overhaul didn't even see the green-haired boy move. His hand never even impacted the ground as a crushing kick landed on his side, shattering his ribs; he was sent violently to the side as a massive fist crashed into his other side, trapped between the two blows, his body bent at an ungodly angle. It cartwheeled in the air before it crashed to the ground. His spine had been snapped.

He could feel them closing in; Izuku was coming down with a punch to Overhaul's head, hoping to knock him out; Itsuka was ready to follow his attack up with a running kick to his side. Then, he exploded into a red mist; they froze in shock. He suddenly reformed in perfect condition. He touched the ground, and spikes exploded; Itsuka managed to flip over the spikes as they came for her. Izuku engaged float and pushed himself up and over. Momo moved the shield to protect the girl. She jumped to the side, and a spike cut her leg, making her hiss in pain.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Mommy, I will be a good girl, I promise. Don't let him take me," Eri whimpered.

When Momo heard those words, she suddenly was filled with this vision of Christmas Morning, Eri and Inari in a mountain of presents. She watched as her daughters were in bliss. That struck her, HER DAUGHTERS. She could hear them calling Izuku daddy and Itsuka Mom, running and jumping on Santa Might, their grandfather.

"He will never touch you again, Eri," Momo growled. "Eri, I will make a harness to tie you to my back so I can help my friends and stop Overhaul." Eri nodded as Momo got to work.

Itsuka landed and went to re-engage with Overhaul. She cursed at the fact that it was another touch-based death quirk, but she was thankful it wasn't her first encounter with such a thing. Shigaraki had taught her valuable lessons, but unfortunately, this quirk seemed to be able to be destroy and repair. They were going to have to drop him in one shot or remove some of his fingers to stop him. The others in their class didn't know that Itsuka, Momo, and Izuku would train to fight someone like that again; they drilled and drilled that if something like that ever came after their family again, he would regret it. They were about to make Overhaul regret it.

Overhaul rolled to his feet, snarling under his mask that they had all avoided his attack; he needed to get Eri back and get away before more heroes showed up; these looked to be students by their age how they were deputies of All-Might of all people made him worry that the number one was not far away and would be here soon. He had lost track of the green-haired boy, but the orange hair had landed away from all the spikes and was coming at him.

He smiled when her fist enlarged again and came barreling at him; he extended his hand, ready to turn her into a mist. Stupid girl, he thought. He shifted sideways, one hand ready to end one threat; he turned towards the street and saw the black-haired girl putting Eri on her back. He didn't see Itsuka's hand suddenly dip towards the ground; he caught movement from the corner of his eyes. By the time he turned around, it was too late.

Overhaul realized in this instant that he had fucked up.

Itsuka's hand shrank to avoid contact with Overhaul; she used it to plant off the ground, twisting her hips; she used all her momentum to go into a bicycle kick that landed under Overhaul's chin and sent him flying up. Overhaul's head snapped up and back as he flew up; it was then he caught sight of the green-haired boy; he was above him, fucking flying. Izuku clasped his hands together over his head and swung down with an axle handle smash that crashed in between Overhaul's shoulder blades, sending him back down to the pavement. Overhaul could feel the lights about to go out; he exploded himself and reformed.

As his vision returned, Itsuka was already in movement, and she jumped up with a rising uppercut like out of a video game. It landed clean on his face, crushing his nose, jaw, and orbital sockets and making it so he couldn't activate his quirk. Izuku was already following him down; he grabbed Overhaul by the leg, spun in midair, and slammed him into the pavement, spider-webbing it. Overhaul felt things break as the pain flooded his mind, shutting it down.

"LOOK OUT!" Momo shouted as a tall, muscular man with shadowed eyes and a shaven head came out of the ally, dressed in a dark dress shirt and grey pants, wearing a medical mask; his arm was coated in shining crystals shaped into a blade. He came leaping to run Izuku through. Izuku felt the sudden buzz of Danger Sense and let it take control; he spun to the side, grabbed the man's arm, and used his momentum to throw him into the street. Izuku hissed as some of the crystals cut his hand.

Itsuka spun on her heel and went to go after the new attacker, hoping to end him before he could recover.

Izuku Vs. Rappa

Izuku yelled for Momo to create something to bind Overhaul; Izuku even considered tearing off a finger from each hand in case he came through. Momo created a set of cuffs and a syringe filled with a strange liquid.

"Stab him in the thigh," Momo yelled. "It is a powerful sedative that should keep him down."

The items were flying towards him; he saw Momo's eyes widen in panic, and the buzz of danger sense screamed again. He could feel the pull but instead pushed forward with Float, grabbing the syringe and spinning in the air.

A huge muscular man had come diving out of the alley; his face was hidden by a mask similar to one Overhaul wore; he was wearing a tattered white t-shirt with dark pants covered by a light blue tunic stylized by two belts. His only other attire was a pair of fingerless fighting gloves with leather straps around the wrist, and the knuckles were coated in metal.

"Quick one, aren't you?" the man said. "Can fly, fast, strong; you just might be a quick distraction before I beat you down; take back the boss and the brat." The unknown man took a defensive position between Izuku and Overhaul.

Izuku floated to the ground, "You got a name?"

"Why do you want to know?" the man laughed. "You won't live long enough to tell anyone."

"So after I knock your ass out, I know what to write on the after-action report, other than muscle-bound jackass that talked big but still lost," Izuku said as he rolled his neck and took a fighting stance.

"You got spunk for a dead guy," the man retorted. "Kendo Rappa. Need me to spell it for you?"

"No, it won't matter. It will just be a footnote," Izuku replied.

"Hope your mouth isn't writing checks you can't cash, kid. You may have done a number on the boss; that ain't no little feat, but now you're done," Rappa replied.

The man suddenly came forward with a super-fast straight right; Izuku was about to slip to the side and counter when Danger Sense nearly made him deaf. He saw the other man's hand come forward, where he was about to dodge. Izuku was glad he had unleashed at 50% right away with Overhaul, but something screamed he needed more; his max control had been increasing throughout the year, so he turned the pipes to 65%.

Rappa's quirk allowed him to rotate his shoulders at an incredible speed, allowing him to throw extremely fast punches with great power. He had been in tons of fights; he loved to fight, and he was only part of the bullets because Overhaul had beaten him. He and the other two had not been far behind their boss after Eri's latest escape, but the little girl had gotten further than ever before; he admired her determination.

But when they got into view, seeing Overhaul taken down so fast and brutally ignited his fighting spirit; Yu was going after the girl, leaving him this boy. Soramitsu would have to deal with Ponytail and get Eri back. He wasn't sure how these kids had beat Overhaul, but it had to be some weird quirk or luck. Either way, he had to get Overhaul out of here before the cops and heroes they had on the take showed up; that would make things complicated with all the people on the street.

Rappa made sure the first punch was slow enough for the kid to dodge right into his second punch; he wondered how many he could land before the boy fell or died. The first one missed as planned, then the second, the third deflected, the fourth dodged, and the fifth deflected. Rappa's eyes widened. The kid was a blur faster than his arms. This kid was not getting touched.

Izuku was so thankful he had been training with Danger Sense; it had become much more accessible. He slipped between two more blows and got inside close; before Rappa could even do anything, Izuku landed three quick body shots, lifting Rappa off the ground, then a massive overhand right sent Rappa flying back, crashing into the corner of a building, the ribs on the right broken, left fractured, sternum cracked. Black Whip ignited, grabbing Overhaul and ripping him to Izuku before Rappa could stop him. Izuku pulled the syringe, plunged it into Overhaul's thigh, and tossed him into the street. Danger Sense told him to move, but he couldn't; Rappa came in with a leaping overhand right. Izuku got his arm up to defend, but the blow sent him stumbling; Rappa pressed his advantage, landing a kick to Izuku's knee, making him drop. Rappa unleashed his quirk again, trying to take this little bastard down.

Itsuka vs. Yu Hojo

Itsuka went after Crystal Man, hoping to take him down. The man recovered quickly from getting thrown by Izuku, but not quickly enough to get his quirk to protect his face. Itsuka landed a running knee on the man's jaw, breaking it. The man fell. Itsuka tried to press her advantage, but he was too fast with his quirk; jagged crystals sprang around his neck, up around the bottom of his face; she managed to change the trajectory of her blow to prevent it from impaling on the crystals, but it still caused deep cuts along her fist and arm.

Itsuka moved back, looking for an opening; the man scrambled to his feet, leaping at her with his arm blade. She slipped to the side and spun low, sweeping his legs and sending him toppling back. She quickly grabbed his sword arm and secured an arm bar. She enlarged one of her hands, ignoring the crystals cutting her. She wrenched back; he couldn't defend himself from grabbing his hand, so he pushed his quirk further. Crystals erupted across his chest, stabbing into her legs.

Itsuka roared defiantly and wrenched back with all her strength; the crystals along his arm cracked and snapped as she broke his arm. She broke free and stumbled to her feet, blood pouring from her arms and legs; she wiped her brow, leaving a bloody smear. She saw Izuku down to one knee and heard explosions behind her. She saw Momo dodging to the side. She was fighting a slim man with circular eyes, dark eye bags, and short, unruly black hair. His mouth is notably large, possibly due to the nature of his Quirk, and he has straight teeth. He wears a ragged burlap sack mask that covers his entire head and is held by a rope knot around his neck. The mask has two openings for eyes and a stitched smile. Additionally, he wears a purple dress shirt and grey pants.

The flash bangs were defeating; Itsuka saw a chunk missing from Momo's shield as if the villain had taken a bite out of it.

Her distraction nearly cost her as Hojo created a crystal cast to protect his arm and swung another blade at Itsuka. She dodged it, but it cut her dress and left a small cut on her back. "You son of a bitch, I just bought this thing!" she yelled. She saw a manhole cover to her side, and she grabbed it, using it to deflect his next attack, then slammed it into his face, knocking Hojo back.

Momo Vs. Soramitsu Tabe

Momo had been trying to stay on the defensive after getting Eri onto her back, so she created an armored cape around her and Eri's shoulders to try and keep her safe. When she saw Izuku get attacked, she wanted to move to secure Overhaul, but she couldn't get close; when Overhaul was thrown into the street, she created metal gloves that had some fingers exposed, and others encased, hoping it would stop the villain from using his quirk. She had secured one of his hands when, out of the corner of her eye, she saw the burlap-masked man leaping at her. She raised the shield and was surprised when not only did the man bite through the shield, but he swallowed it. Momo didn't hesitate and punched him between his eyes, sending him tumbling back as she put some distance between them, her mind racing on how to keep Eri safe and fight this villain off. With the ease he had torn through her shield, letting him get any part of her would ensure she lost whatever limb he got a hold of.

She created a bo staff, and when he came at her, she made him step back to avoid a brutal swipe. She surprised him by not staying back; instead, she spun to the side and landed a blow on his leg, sending him down. She went for the head, hoping to knock him out, and he turned and bit through the staff. He then planed off of one hand and landed a kick to her stomach; doubling over, he scrambled and dived at her, seemingly to take her head.

Momo managed to slip to the side, stumbling, and her balance was off due to Eri on her back. They faced each other again; Momo told Eri to cover her ears as she created two flash bangs and tossed them at her foe. She was pleasantly surprised when the villain didn't try to eat them but instead dove for cover.

"MOMO, WHAT IS GOING ON!" she heard a loud shout from the side. Momo turned, noticing the crowd forming as they fought in the middle of the street; she saw Mineta come bursting through.

"Mineta!" Momo exclaimed. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"I live around here; I was out to dinner with my family," he said, pulling one of the orbs off his head; she saw him rear back and throw with all his might. Momo watched as the villain sneered and caught the ball in his mouth. The villain's sneer turned to panic when, after biting down, he was struggling to open his jaw.

"Under the authority granted by All-Might, I give you permission to use your quirk!" Momo yelled. "Mineta, keep him off of me!"

Mineta steadied his fear and got in front of Momo, an orb in each hand. "Chew on my balls, you burlap bastard!" Authority of All-Might, he thought. What the hell is going on?

Overhaul's Compound

The entire compound had been in a near panic when Eri had escaped and hadn't been caught as Overhaul had gone after the girl himself, but then, over the scanners, news of the brawl began to filter in. Those loyal to Overhaul started scrambling to get to the boss. Still, those loyal to the old boss decided it was time to strike, and a bloody battle was raging in the compound with 4 of the Eight Bullets already gone and the other three not at the compound. It was a revolution or nothing.

Mirai Sasaki, known as Sir Nighteye, was a tall, lean, and muscular man with sharp and elongated features. His shiny dark green hair was always worn, smoothed down, and parted to his left, with three yellow streaks towards the front - two on his right and one on his left. His eyebrows matched the color of his rims and the strikingly bright yellow irises of his stern-looking eyes. His appearance exuded authority and power, as he rarely smiled and always looked stern, giving off a sense of constant glaring.

He had been working on a case against Overhaul, trying to gather enough evidence to put the man in jail. It was the drug Trigger that caught Nighteye's attention initially; the drug acted as a quirk booster as well as inducing a near-frenzied rage in the user. The word had started circulating that the creator of Trigger was working on something new, a way to suppress quirks. Trigger had been on the streets for years, and it kept getting better and more dangerous. It had taken Nighteye forever to finally wade through the suppliers, runners, and agents to get the name Overhaul.

Now, reports were flooding his agency about the chaos at the compound, as were reports of a battle in the streets between some young kids, possibly heroes, and Overhaul himself. The usually calm and collected hero had to go into a scramble drill. He called for backup to heroes he felt he could trust and dispatched his sidekicks Centipeder and Bubble Girl to meet with the Armored Police Response and the responding heroes, hoping to find the lab where they made Trigger.

Nighteye looked to Mirio and told him they were heading to the Overhaul fight; he needed to know who had been foolish enough to fight in the middle of the city. He was relieved when he heard that Ryukyu, Edgeshot, and Endeavor answered the call to raid the compound.

They were en route, and reports and images were coming in. "That is Izuku Midoriya," Miro said. "Those girls are from the sports festival; they are all in their first years." Nighteye's hands tightened on the steering wheel, the boy Toshi had chosen as his successor over Mirio. Now that damn fool was about to be killed or thrown in jail for Vigilantism. Damn Fool!

"Sir," Miro said, looking at the live feed, "Overhaul is down; they are fighting Rappa, Taba, and Hojo. Overhaul is down and not moving."

"What!" Nighteye said as he mashed down on the accelerator. He alerted the heroes and officers responding to the street battle that kids were friendly, and the targets were those engaged with them. Damn it, Toshi, where are you!

Stars and Stripes

She met All-Might bright and early, along with little Inari. She walked into the room, and her heart caught in her chest. Inari was dressed in a Snow-White princess gown and was sitting on the floor before her grandfather as he was patiently combing her hair. When he was done, she watched Inari pose for a picture to send to her mommies and daddy.

"Are you coming to Disneyworld with us?" Inari said, running over to her.

"I am," Cathleen said. "Is that okay?"

Inari nodded before she looked to be thinking, "Where is your Princess dress? Grandpa, we need to get her a princess dress!" Cathleen blushed at the thought.

"Maybe next time, sweetie," All-Might said with a smile.

"Okay," Inari said, somewhat defeated.

The entire day was forever etched in her mind, watching them interact as they traversed the park. Watching not All-Might, the hero she had admired and held a torch for her entire life, but the man Toshinori Yagi was a grandfather to a precious little girl. Inari was walking, holding his hand as the robotic stroller followed behind them; the little girl held her hand out for Cathleen to take. Cathleen was hesitant, but when she did, she knew it was over.

It took a while, but soon, she was talking with Toshi, learning even more about the girl's father and the bond they had developed. Father and son, this family was built with Torino, the girl's Momo, and Itsuka. All the members of their class had spread it to their sister class. She listened about the USJ and kidnapping incident, hearing the tremor in Toshi's voice at all that had transpired.

After Cathleen had heard everything, she understood why he had come to her even more—his love for his granddaughter and son. The desire is for every parent to do everything they can to try and keep their children safe. The man she always saw and knew as one of the most unselfish people she had ever met had found something to be selfish about.

He just wanted something to help keep Inari safe should someone try to retake her. He would leave the details to her; he just needed her help.

"I don't know how much longer I have," he told her. "I used to look at the end and was worried that I hadn't found a successor, but when I found Izuku, it was about ensuring he was ready. I want to live, see him grow, and get married. I want to see Inari grow, fall in love, and have a great life." Toshi paused, "I thought I would be at peace when the end came, but now I know I need more."

"Is it possible to have more," Cathleen said softly.

"Even if it isn't, that doesn't mean we shouldn't try," he said, watching Inari with Snow White and some dwarves posing for pictures. "It is okay to be selfish now and then…isn't it."

"Yes, it is Toshi," Cathleen replied as Inari approached them. To her surprise, she ran to Cathleen and held her arms up. Cathleen lifted the little girl whose infectious smile spread over them.

The day's magic continued to envelop them; their hands would unconsciously brush, sending a rush through them. When they would pose for photos with the characters around the park, Inari in Cathleen's arms, his arm around her shoulders. Toshi watched from a bench as Cathleen and Inari rode past on Storybook Train, waiving at him furiously how Cathleen wiped the corner of Inari's mouth at lunch or would listen to every question the little girl could muster. The matching Micky ears looked so adorable on the girls.

He had always admired Cathleen, her resolve, and her dedication, but now, being himself made him see the woman, not the hero. The beautiful woman acts like a perfect grandmother; he imagined not Inari but a little blonde-haired boy or girl instead, calling them Mom and Dad. Wistfully, he sighed, maybe when he was younger and not broken. If he had ever realized what having his own family would have been like. That time for his children may have passed, but he had been gifted with a son, a granddaughter, and possibly two daughters. He had to do all he could to make sure they were safe. It had been decades since he thought of romance; now, like then, it was just a dream.

Inari held on till the Electric Parade before she fell asleep on Cathleen's shoulder; they walked out of the park, their conversation hushed, and they did not want to wake the little girl. It had shifted somewhere in the middle of the day to them getting to know each other.

When they returned to the hotel, Inari went into bed without a fuss; Toshi stepped out as Cathleen sat on the edge of the bed, her hand on Inari's head. New Order answered the call as she inscribed the rules to keep Inari safe. Cathleen thought long and hard about what to bring into existence when it was over; she kissed Inari's forehead and slipped out. She saw Toshi standing there, "It is done," she said.

"Thank you, Cathleen," Toshi whispered. "I cannot express how much this means to me."

Cathleen walked towards him, "It's okay to be selfish sometimes," she responded softly. "Tonight, I am going to be selfish as well." Toshi didn't move; he couldn't say anything when she lightly touched his chest, cupped his cheek, and kissed him.

"Cathleen," he managed when they broke apart.

"Today had been a magical day," she whispered, her breath tickling his lips. "Under this spell, I refuse to let the magic falter now," she kissed him again, a kiss he returned. "I want you, Toshi. I have always wanted you. Do you want me?"

"But how…Yes, I do," he leaned down and kissed her hesitantly. "I never…"

"Then let me lead you," she took his hand and led him to his room.

That night, they made love; it was soft and tender, with such passion that Toshi's awakening to what he had been missing all his life consumed them. When he finally fell asleep with her lying partially on his chest, Cathleen waited until he was sleeping; she placed her hand over his heart. "I know you would never ask," she whispered. "But I will keep being selfish when it comes to you, Toshinori Yagi. I have loved you my whole life and will not let you go so easily." New Order answered her call once again.

Toshi awoke feeling rested like never before; he first noticed that she wasn't in bed, then realized it was after 11 am and sat up. "INARI," he said, scrambling out of bed. He looked around frantically, throwing on a pair of pajama bottoms and a T-shirt; he opened the door and stopped in his tracks.

Cathleen was sitting in front of the television with Inari in her arms. Cathleen's head rested on Inari's, and the little girl was snuggling in and smiling.

When somebody loved me
Everything was beautiful
Every hour we spent together.
Lives within my heart

And when she was sad
I was there to dry her tears.
And when she was happy, so was I
When she loved me

Through the summer and the fall
We had each other, that was all.
Just she and I together like it was meant to be
And when she was lonely
I was there to comfort her.
And I knew that she loved me

So the years went by
I stayed the same
But she began to drift away.
I was left alone
Still, I waited for the day.
When she'd say I will always love you

Lonely and forgotten
Never thought she'd look my way.
Then she smiled at me and held me.
Just like she used to do
Like she loved me
When she loved me

When somebody loved me
Everything was beautiful
Every hour we spent together.
Lives within my heart

When she loved me

Toshi's heart pounded in his chest. Is this what being in love is like? He thought.

The trio spent the afternoon together, Inari giggling when she caught them kissing; everything was excellent until Toshi got an alert from Nezu. "Inari's parents have decided to start a battle in the middle of the street," Toshi's heart fell. "Cathleen, I need your help again!"

Momo and Mineta vs. Tabe

The arrival of this diminutive boy had not caused him any alarm, but when that first ball got stuck in his mouth, it shifted the entire battle; the combination of those damn orbs and the girl firing off those blasted concussion grenades was forcing him to retreat. He saw the girl fall back and look like she was concentrating; he came racing forward. He dodged past the boy's attack and went to dive at him, hoping to end him, but to his surprise, the boy jumped up and hit Taba's legs, making him flip over in mid-air.

When he landed, the girl threw metal ball barrings at him. At last, something he could eat, he caught them in his mouth, and when he bit down, he froze. They weren't metal at all, and suddenly, a fire erupted in his mouth and throat, filling his mouth with pepper XX. It ranked at over 4 million Scoville units. He tried to scramble to his feet, but his hand was stuck to the pavement with one of those damn orbs; he clawed at his throat as tears ran down his face. He didn't even see the staff collide with his head, which sent him into darkness.

Izuku vs. Rappa

Black Whip came forth, grabbing Rappa around the throat; it yanked him over the head, slamming him into the ground. Izuku got to his feet, glaring at Rappa; he raced in and kneed Rappa in the head. Sending them toppling over, Rappa was strong but not a match for Izuku at 65%. Izuku caught his arm and snapped it; his scream silenced the crowd. Izuku rose and dropped elbow after elbow till Rappa was rendered unconscious.

Itsuka vs. Hojo

Itsuka used the maintenance hole cover as a shield and weapon as they traded blows. "I am going to fucking kill you, then your little friends," Hojo roared. He went to attack again, but he stumbled, his foot pinned to the ground by a purple orb. Itsuka didn't hesitate. She stepped forward and swung the maintenance hole cover with all she could; a sickening clang was heard as the crystals around Hojo's face shattered, and the attack clanged off his head, ending the fight.

She looked around everyone was down; she saw Mineta flop on his butt, holding his head. "So, is this your guy's idea of fun?" he said.

"You know," Itsuka said. "Nothing like a fight in the streets to help you sleep. Where did you come from?"

"Dinner," Mineta replied.

"How was it?" Itsuka said, wobbling a bit.

"Good, the meat was a little dry, but the sauce was wonderful," Mineta replied.

Momo was by her side with bandages, "Did we win?" Itsuka said as Momo helped her sit.

"We did," Izuku said, walking over.

"Good job, everybody; smoke if you got them," Itsuka managed.

Eri

The little girl peered her head over Momo's shoulder. She saw Overhaul lying on the ground, and the others were beaten up and in a similar state. The people around were coming a bit closer when she saw her daddy step forward, holding an ID in the air, telling them all to stay back as the criminal could still be dangerous. When the police and a few other pro heroes arrived, Eri got scared and whispered to Momo that two of the heroes who had just arrived worked with Overhaul.

Eri said she ran away once, and they found her; instead of helping her, they took her back to Overhaul. Momo glared at the heroes, telling Eri they wouldn't take her as promised. Momo whispered the information to Izuku, who tensed. Wondering how he could stall to make sure they were taken into actual custody and that they wouldn't take Eri.

Eri was scared but hopeful; for the first time, she felt like she might be safe and not just in a dream. When the emergency response vehicles began to show up, she was worried that they might try and take her away. Then, this tall man with a severe look came up, along with a blonde boy with a comforting smile.

Izuku

"Mirio," Izuku said relieved. "Sir Nighteye!" he said with a hint of awe.

"What happened?" Nighteye demanded, "And why shouldn't you be arrested for unauthorized use of quirks?"

Izuku, Momo, and Itsuka produced their badges, to Nighteye's surprise. "I authorized Mineta, a classmate, to use his quirk to aid us in the battle," Momo said.

"We were on our way to dinner when…" Izuku began to recount the encounter; he did so quickly before he leaned in and whispered what Eri had told them about two of the heroes on the scene.

Nighteye stepped away and got on his radio, calling for Tartarus transport. Mirio looked around, "Nice job," he said to Izuku. "Sir has been after Overhaul for a while."

"He doesn't seem happy," Izuku said.

"That's just how he is," Mirio responded. They turned when they heard Eri screaming about not being taken away; the paramedic stepped back and held up his hands defensively.

Izuku went over quickly to calm Eri down, "No one is going to take you away, Eri," he said. "One of us will be with you at all times. This lady wants to ensure that you were not hurt during the fight, and Momo will be right here with you. See?" he pointed to Itsuka being treated for her cuts.

"Promise me," Eri said, tears streaming down her face. "I don't want to be taken away, Daddy."

"Daddy?" Mirio said in surprise.

"No one is going to take you," Izuku and Momo said unison. Izuku lifted her from the harness on Momo's back and walked with them to the ambulance, where the paramedics carefully checked them out.

Izuku relayed how Eri called him Daddy when this whole mess started and how it felt right, but he couldn't be her father. "I can't explain it," Izuku said.

"They are going to want to take you all to the hospital to get checked out," Mirio said. "They will run a missing persons report to try and locate her biological parents. I know it is too late for you not to promise her anything, but you better call All-Might and Nezu; things will get sticky once you get to the hospital."

"Thank you, Mirio," Izuku said, shaking his hand. They all watched as Overhaul and his gang were loaded onto a transport before they climbed into the back of the ambulance to be transported themselves. Mineta went to walk away, "Where are you going?" Izuku said.

"I was going to take another ambulance?" he said hesitantly.

"Fuck that you ride with us, man," Izuku said, extending his hand to pull him up into the ambulance.

"Yes, Mineta," Momo added. "Your timely arrival helped quite a bit."

"I will meet you at the hospital," Nighteye said. "There is more of this mess I have to clean up! Write out your statements the first chance you get!"

Eri was shifted to Itsuka while Momo and Izuku started to make calls: her to her parents, him to Kobayashi, Nezu, and then All-Might.

When All-Might picked up the phone, "Hello, son, couldn't stay out of trouble, I see."

"I tried, but there was this little girl, her name is Eri," Izuku began. "This is what happened…"

Itsuka Kendo

Itsuka looked at the little girl in her arms while Momo and Izuku were busy with their phone calls; Eri was looking at her, then away, then at the bandages all over Itsuka's hands and arms. Eri stopped and looked at her arms and their bandages.

"We match," Itsuka said quietly.

"I am sorry you got hurt," Eri said. "I didn't want any of you to get hurt. I am sorry," Eri's eyes began to water. "People always get hurt because of me. I want to go home." Eri couldn't stop the tears from falling,

Itsuka held the little girl to her chest, stroking her hair. She noticed a faint glow from Eri's horn, but she thought it might be a trick of the light. "Can you just take me home? I want to go home, Mom." She heard Eri call her mom. Itsuka was going to say something, but suddenly, she wasn't sitting in the ambulance.

She was in the living room of a large penthouse; the room was dark, with only the illumination of the Christmas Tree. Itsuka felt a flutter in her stomach, and something shifted. She looked down, and her belly was enormous. She was visibly pregnant, and Eri was lying with her head resting against her stomach.

Eri giggled, "He sure does move around a lot."

"He only does that with you and your dad," Itsuka replied. "Your dad likes to shake my belly and wake him up; I think he is anxious to meet his big sister."

"I can't wait to meet him," Eri said, placing her hand on Itsuka's stomach. The baby pushed against Eri's hand; the baby seemed to follow when she moved it. "I love you, Mom," Eri said, leaning down and kissing where the baby was pushing. "I love you too, little brother."

Itsuka looked down at her daughter and smiled…

Itsuka blinked and was in the ambulance; she pulled Eri close, "Don't be scared, Eri; I promise we will take you home. And no one will ever take you from us."

Hospital

Once they arrived at the hospital, it was chaos, and it was then that there was almost an incident. Doctors had come into the room with Eri, and when they tried to approach, her horn started to glow, and she began to scream at them to stay away. But as promised, one of them was with her. Momo ignored the threat, immediately cuddled her close, and told her that they wouldn't hurt her and that she wouldn't allow it.

Eri's breathing evened out, and the glow subsided. Momo felt all the fatigue and bruises from the battle disappear. Momo, under the direction of the doctors, unwrapped Eri's arms so they could be examined; they had the nurse take Momo's blood to show Eri it was safe before they did the same to the little girl.

Once things had calmed down, Momo examined the dirty, torn bunny. Eri told her there was a special note in there.

"A special note?" Momo said.

"Abby put it there," Eri whispered.

"Where is Abby?"

"Abby went to heaven; she said she would talk to me in my dreams and try to watch over me until my mommies and daddy took me home," Eri said.

Momo reached inside the hole and found a bundled-up note.

To whoever Finds this Note,

I hope and pray that whoever is reading this is the people Eri dreams about and takes her to the home she dreams of.

My Name is Abigale Nakamura. I am from the small village of Wazuka, a town located in Kyoto Prefecture. It was a small town, and I had dreamed of getting out of it all my life, but now I wish to see it again. If you are reading this, then I am probably dead; Overhaul murdered me. I ran away from home looking for that new life and was picked up by a family member. I thought I was grown up, but I wasn't. I have been kept against my will for over a year at this point; Eri and I have tried to escape, only to be dragged back.

Eri is a good girl whose quirk is so extraordinary. Her quirk allows her to move an object back in time, rewinding it to a previous state, person, fruit, or Overhaul hopes quirks. When her quirk manifested, it accidentally killed her father and rewinding him to dust. Her mother hated and feared her, so she gave her to the boss of the family, who fell mysteriously ill. She fell into the hands of Overhaul. Her mother crossed the wrong person and met a tragic end herself. When she gets upset or stressed, her quirk activates, and you have to get away from her, or you will be rewound.

The bunny helps; if you tell her to focus on the bunny, it seems to calm her down. I hope Eri lives to find the home she has been dreaming about; when she dreams of that home, the way she lights up is like nothing else. I wish that I could also see it. If I am dead, please tell my mother what happened to me, and tell her I am sorry for wanting to grow up so fast. I love her very much. Tell my family I love them, tell Eri I love her, and tell her that I will watch over her until she gets to her real home.

Abby

Momo closed her eyes and shed a tear for the lost girl.

Itsuka was receiving treatment for all her numerous cuts while Izuku was in a different room being looked over and treated, as well as talking with the police; he had barely finished talking with the police, who had run his identification and their badges to ensure their authenticity. It was then time for them to fill out incident forms; Momo did it while sitting in the bed with Eri. Eri was huddled next to Momo while she filled out the paperwork.

"All this is because of me, isn't it?" Eri said quietly, looking at the police outside the room and the paperwork before Momo.

"No, this is all because of Overhaul," Momo said. "That Monster did all of this; you are just a victim of his evil. Now, no one will ever do that to you again." Momo paused, "Tell me about Abby?"

Eri smiled sadly, "Abby was the best; she bought me the bunny. I don't know how she did it, but she did." Eri smiled, "She used to make the bunny dance…"

Sir Nighteye

He strode into the hospital, Bubble Girl and Mirio hot on his heels, "Mirio, you collect the statement from Ms. Kendo, Bubble Girl, Ms. Yaoyorozu, and I will talk to Mr. Midoriya. According to the preliminary reports, their badges have been authenticated."

"Yes, sir," they both responded.

Nighteye would have been in a much worse mood if it wasn't for the work of the heroes at the compound and the wealth of evidence they had found. In a small room, they found a mountain of evidence collected by a girl named Abby. A dead girl provided the nail in Overhaul's coffin. He wasn't happy about the damage done to Overhaul during the battle; Overhaul had been nearly paralyzed, his Bullets had been beaten to hell, and Hojo had gotten out of the battle the best. However, he was still vomiting and shitting uncontrollably. Somehow, they had tricked him into simultaneously consuming the world's hottest chili and strongest laxative. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, in his opinion.

He was upset with what had happened and wanted to lay into the group, especially Midoriya, but the preliminary report made that problematic. When he walked in, he saw a tall, thin man in a sharp suit; his hair was thinning on the top and sides, and he looked English, possibly; he introduced himself as Kobayashi, Midoriya's lawyer.

"Do what you can, Kobayashi; I know this is asking a lot," Izuku said. "Momo's parents are here; meet with them; their legal team may be of service in this area."

"I will do as you ask, Izuku," the man responded, staring at Nighteye. "But this is a huge task you are taking on. I understand the promise to the girl, but are you sure you want to let these feelings and thoughts guide you."

"Listening to my heart has led me to where I am standing right here, right now," Izuku said. "If I hadn't, we wouldn't have bumped into her going to dinner on the night when she managed to get further than ever before, and I wouldn't have had the ability to save her. To disregard that now seems foolhardy."

Kobayashi smiled, "Fathers and their children. I will keep you informed; Nezu has reached out. Should I inform him?"

"We have to," Izuku said. "It won't work without his permission now. Please excuse us." Kobayashi bowed and exited the room.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Sir Nighteye," Izuku said, extending his hand. Nighteye shook his hand firmly and then sat down.

"You realize that your actions today jeopardized a massive ongoing investigation," Nighteye began. "Your reckless and cavalier attitude has only resulted in a positive result out of pure luck. If All-Might had not given you three badges, you would have been in jail along with Overhaul. I am tempted to file charges of misconduct and inappropriate use of force as it is."

"Excuse me?" Izuku said, stunned.

"I will not excuse you," Nighteye pressed on. "You escalated a situation that didn't need to be; you had no right to withhold that girl; how did you know that he wasn't the child's Father? You should have returned the child to him and filed a suspicion report." Sir Nighteye's voice began to boil over with anger. "Instead, you engage an incredibly dangerous villain in the middle of the street, along with three members of his gang! If we hadn't been able to raid his compound and locate the evidence we needed, he could have been possibly released in no time." Nighteye got to his feet, "I knew that if he left to his own devices, All-Might would make the wrong choice. You are not worthy or ready for the responsibility; being a parent on top of that compounds these facts. Your actions today and the actions I have witnessed, you should surrender IT to Mirio."

"To Mirio?" Izuku said, his voice calm and cold.

"I told All-Might," Nighteye said. "Mirio is a much better suited to take on this responsibility. You should surrender it, withdraw from the U.A., and concentrate on raising your daughter. I don't see how anyone signed off on that even being allowed. Rest assured, I will be looking into that!"

"Who the hell do you think you are?" Izuku said, his voice cold. "You walk in here bitching and moaning about the case with Overhaul. Did you even bother to read the report? We had probable cause to hold him for child abuse. We told him to come with us, and we went into action when he decided to attack. If you couldn't make your case while watching him, you must be more incompetent than I imagined!"

"Who the hell…" NIghteye began to say.

"You!" Izuku cut him off. "Even if I knew of your investigation, I would not have let Eri return with him. We weren't aware of the other members of his gang as he declared that he would kill us to teach Eri a lesson. From what I saw of his quirk, that was a real threat; his fuck up was he isn't the first villain we have fought with a similar dangerous quirk. We are possibly the best people to have encountered and taken him down. If you couldn't build your case, that is your fault. And you found what you needed, didn't you? This is MY quirk; your opinion means as much as a wet fart."

"You are reckless!" Nighteye yelled.

"And you are so self-assured in whatever bullshit you are sniffing that you feel you can come in here and tell me that I am not worthy! That I should surrender IT!" Izuku stood up. "All-Might made his decision; it was his decision, not yours! You can talk all your bullshit to me if you want; you can question if I am worthy or if I am good enough now until the stars burn out. You mention my daughter one more time or make any veiled threat to try and take her from me; you are going to wake up missing your teeth. I don't know who the fuck you think you are, but you are crossing a line."

"Are you threatening me?" Nighteye said, his voice challenging.

"No, that is a fucking promise," Izuku said, stepping forward. "This is about you! You are unhappy about All-Might's decision because you know better."

"HE IS GOING TO DIE!" Nighteye roared. "I saw it!"

"Did he ask you to look?" Izuku said, his voice still cold. "I bet he didn't. But you always know best; it is wrong if it isn't your way. Overhaul was torturing and abusing a child, a child that had made multiple escape attempts, and I assume you had surveillance on the property. Then why didn't they report that? You walk in here and dare to talk to me that way; then you can turn around and get the fuck out. If you want to file a complaint with Child Service, then you do that, and I will file a complaint right back. My lawyer will eat you for breakfast. You have my report. Do what you want with it."

Izuku went to walk past, and Nighteye grabbed his arm. "Take your hands off of me, or I will break your arm. Per section 6543.97-23A of the hero code, I am an authorized deputy acting under the provision of an authorized hero; all communication or complaints need to be forwarded to that authorized hero. Now if you want to go somewhere else, we can talk about this more, but till that time, get your damn hand off of me." Izuku wrenched his arm free. "Fuck you; Mirio deserves a better mentor than a control freak who is mad because his mentor stopped talking to him. You got your evidence, Overhaul is in jail, and Eri is safe. Take the fucking win. Do you think this is the night we had planned tonight? Next time you talk to me, do it through my lawyer." Izuku stopped at the door. "If you ever try and gaslight me again, then I don't care where we are, who is around, we are going to have a problem. You are a real piece of shit, you know that. No wonder Toshi doesn't talk to you anymore."

Izuku and Eri

Izuku did his best to calm down; as he made his way to check on Itsuka, he found her asleep after a gentle kiss on her forehead, and he went to relieve Momo. Eri was happy to see him, as was Momo, who kissed him briefly; of course, she could tell something was wrong. He promised he would tell her when he could, glancing towards Eri. Momo nodded; her parents were almost there. She wanted to get cleared before she met with them. Izuku smiled, watching Momo hug Eri and kiss her. Eri was worried about being left alone, but when Izuku told him they promised she wouldn't be alone, Eri visibly relaxed.

He sat with Eri, telling her little stories; when dinner arrived, she was shocked when a food tray was placed before her. "Is this all for me?" Izuku nodded. "But what about you? Abby wouldn't eat sometimes, saying she wasn't hungry, but I knew she was."

"I have my tray," Izuku said, his heartbreaking, some wishing they had been able to save this Abby. he pointed to a tray.

"It all smells so good," Eri said. "It is hot and doesn't smell weird. What is that?" Eri said, pointing to the salad and the entrée; she knew what the rice was but had never had it so warm. She didn't know soup could smell so good, but her eyes were wide when she pointed to the apples. "Are those apples?" she said dreamily.

"Have you had apples before?" Izuku said softly.

Eri nodded slowly, "Abby gave me some three times. Parts of them were soft, but they were so good. She told me that I could eat apples every day when I get to my real home."

"She was right," Izuku said, ensuring his smile didn't falter. "I promise you can eat an apple every day. How about we eat while the food is warm?" Eri nodded. With every bite, her face lit up; every bite was the best. Izuku didn't let his smile waver; to Izuku, it was hospital food, but to Eri, it was gourmet cuisine. He just sat with her, helping her eat or cut her food; when she got to the apples, Eri just about cried about how crisp and good they were. He sat back on the bed with Eri against him. She talked and asked him questions, but her voice drifted as they sat there. She would startle awake and keep talking, trying desperately to stay awake.

"You can go to sleep, Eri. It is okay." Izuku said.

Eri started to cry softly; she clung to him almost desperately. "I can't go to sleep if I got to sleep, then when I wake up, you will be gone; my mommies will be gone. I will be back in that dark place, back in the cold; they will come to hurt me. If I go to sleep, then the dream will end."

"No, Eri, the dream won't end," Izuki held her. "I promise I will be here when you wake up. When you wake up, you will meet your little sister, grandpa, and many more people who will love and protect you. That will keep you safe."

"But what if…" Eri pleaded, clinging to him. "What if you realize that you don't love me, that I am not worth it? I don't want to be alone."

"You are worth it, Eri," Izuku said. "I don't know how, but I promise you will come home with us. You are going to be safe and protected, and you will be loved. I will never leave you. Momo and Itsuka will never leave you. You will come home!"

"But…" Eri protested.

"No buts," he whispered. "Just hold on to me, and I will be here when you wake up."

"Promise," Eri whispered; she tried to silence her tears.

"I promise," Izuku said. He held her as he felt her begin to relax. He rested his head atop hers.

"Song?" Eri whispered, "in my dreams, you sing me a song. Promise again, promise you will be here when I wake up."

"I promise Eri," he said. "I will sing you a song, okay."

Come stop your crying.
It will be alright
Just take my hand
Hold it tight
I will protect you
From all around you
I will be here
Don't you cry

For one so small
You seem so strong
My arms will hold you.
Keep you safe and warm.
This bond between us
Can't be broken
I will be here, don't you cry

'Cause you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart.
From this day on
Now and forever more

You'll be in my heart.
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart.
Always

Always

"Always…" Eri whispered in her sleep.
