Fate Whispered to the warrior 'You cannot withstand the storm' and the warrior whispers back 'I am the storm'

"What is it Nami?" Vivi asked as soon as the three wear out of earshot of the playing group.

"Something fishy" the ginger mumbled.

"Fishy?" chopper questioned. "I don't smell any fish"

"Vivi do you recognise her?" the blue haired women shook her head, "I see, there's something we're missing about her, something isn't right. Chopper can you run a big check up on her?"

"It's my duty of a doctor" the reindeer nodded. "though..."

"Though?" the girls questioned.

"I hadn't asked her about it, so I could let you know if not then it would be a case and doctor/client confidentially may prevent that. She has scars, on her wrist and ankles as well as her neck. I noticed them when checking for other injuries, some old and barely visible, but some are new, but it's strange instead of the raw wounds being red their pale white. She incredibly underweight, but doesn't appear so physically wise. Moreover, it appears that she hasn't had much sunlight – despite drifting at sea for an unknown number of days she hasn't caught the sun at all. I feel like there's more or something she isn't tell us but..."

The girls exchanged looks before nodding, "just kept an eye on her for now, if there's something that negatively effects the crew, we shall deal with it. But for now, we shall wait and see."

Dawnya, sat watching Luffy and Usopp play about the boat. Though her face was blank you could see the small sparkle in her pale eyes. She could feel a set of eyes on her straight back as she stayed knelt down on the wooden deck. "What is it?" she asked, tilted her head towards the swordsman of the group.

"your sword, what's its name?" the man asked from his leaning position against the rails.

"Tobutori, my flying bird" A hand drifting across the handle, though you could tell the action was an unconscious response.

"It's cursed..." he muttered looking at the sword he could feel a strange aura from the blade, it felt like a cursed blade, like his own but something was off about it, something he couldn't figure out... Eye flickered upwards to meet blue hues as she turned to face him fully.

"It's not cursed, Tobutori she's picky. Only those of the correct mindset will be allowed to wield her. One day I may not be able to pick up my blade if she so choses it. It's like any bird, wanting to fly free – it doesn't like to be caged by a user demanding to be its master"

"That's why Luffy could pick it up, blasted thing was so heavy yet he could shift it" the green haired male grunted.

"Luffy did?" she repeated her voice drifting off as her glazed flickered towards the captain of the ship. She would have chat with the captain of the crew in the future it seems. "may I asked about your swords names, I have not seen someone use three blades before I am quite intrigue?"

He nodded, towards the white sheathed blade, "Wado Ichimonji, its from an old friend. Then Yubashiri" he gestured towards a black sheathed bladed with a golden cross-shaped guard "finally, Sandi Kitetsu" he pointed towards a slightly curved katana, with a deep red sheath.

"it's cursed" she stated eyeing the last blade.

"aye it is, but it allowed me to wield it"

She gave him a questioning looked, while turning on her knee to face the male properly. "That sounds like a story to tell"

He chuckled but nodded never the less, "I found it in a barrel of cheap swords. I knew it was cursed the moment I laid my eyes on it. I throw the blade into the air and stuck out my arm. It could have cut of my arm but it didn't, it twisted around it. So, I wield it"

Dawnya was silent a moment taking in his words. "that would have been a sight to see"

"so, are you many good with that blade?" he sent her a cheeky grin.

"I don't wear it for decoration" she narrowed her eyes at the male, "I am a warrior"

Zoro smirked, "fancy a spar?"

She nodded, getting to her feet in one fluid moment, before taking two steps awhile of the male and turning towards him. "just to let you know, where I form a warrior only cuts their hair in defeat. I haven't lost a battle yet"

Zoro eyes narrowed at the challenged, though she also didn't mention had most who lost also forfeited something else important.

Their lives.

Zoro got to his feet, two blades in his hands, the white sheathed blade, Wado Ichimonji rest nearly on his hip. She got into her stance, standing tall – feet in a T shape while a hand rested on the hilt of the blade while Zoro before her also got into the position.

"Wait! Don't you dare fight!" the childlike voice of chopper snapped both of the fighters out of their thoughts.

"we were just going to have a small spar?" Dawnya questioned, confused at the sudden interruption.

"you just woke up. You are on bed rest until I say otherwise" the doctor scolded.

She stared at the small male, confusion fluttering across her face, she has fort in much worser conditions that this, why was one small spar an issue with the creature? She nodded dumbly not fully understanding.

"what are you doing Zoro trying to pick a fight?" Nami yelled whacking the male across the head while scolded him.

Zoro just grumbled in annoyance, "after your better?"

"of course, I look forward to it, though I do not understand way its is should an issue" she dipped her head before turning towards the ginger haired girl. "May I ask where abouts are we in the seas?"

"We're on the grand line heading towards alabastra"

"I see" she nodded, thankfully the boat she had been on before it burnt away had been heading in the opposite directly. She should be safe for now. "would it be possible to stay on board until we reach land? I can help about on the ship if it helps?"

Nami gave her a look, "don't worry about it, we won't though you off. Rest up and help us fish, oi Usopp!"

"yes?"

The gingers expression turned tasty as the long nose male stopped before her, "Why have you stopped fishing! We are running out of food" unable to respond the male was stucked over the head by a fist before being pushed towards the rails, where some rods where laying.

Dawnya watched as Luffy walked over to the long nose male also supporting a bump on the head from the ginger known as Nami. She picked up a lying rob, watching the males beside her fish – blue hues darting between the rod in her hands and the boys beside her.

"Usopp was it?"

"yup, master sniper and captain on the Straw-hat!"

"I'm that captain you Baka!" Luffy pouted from the other side of him.

"would you be able to teach me? I have never fished before?"

"What really? Here let the great master fisherman teach you! Did you know that I once caught a giant koi fish? It was as big as..."

-time skip-

Dawnya laid in the bed of the infirmary - her place of rest while sailing with the crew – but she couldn't sleep. Whenever she shut her eyes, she was transported back to the dark cold confinements of mental boxes, were there was always a continuous dipping noise, though it would always be a toss-up on whether it was water or not. The copper smells filling her nose as the images wanted to flash before her eyes.

She breathing became rushed, blue hues darted about the room – the infirmary wasn't small but she couldn't help but feel like the room was closing in around her, caging her – trapping her within its walls without any means of escape.

She shifted in the bed, unable to stay still before moving the covers off. The walls around her shirking, growing smaller as she moved quickly towards the doorway. In quick quite movements the door was open – her sweat panic filled face was hit with the cold sea breeze, darkness spread out across the horizon.

No longer did it felt like the walls were closing in as her hair moved in the night breeze – no longer was it in her pony tail, instead it hung loosely the ends now dropping towards her knees in length.

she jumped onto the railing before her, feet lightly balancing on the rail as she stretched her arms to the air. The last remnants of panic leaving her system as she stared towards the starlit sky above her.

The small glitter of stars lighting up the dark void of the night sky above the ship.

It was beautiful.

She would rather die than be caged again – she wanted to forever see the view of the night sky, of the sunsetting across the water and slowly raising as day broke. She took in a deep breath before letting it out – eyes never leaving the sky above her.

She was free.

She glanced about the empty deck – eyes locked onto the empty roof, opposite of grove of orange trees. She jumped up before lying down on the wooden roof, sword beside her. She was claiming this spot she decided.

Slowly, she drifted to sleep watching the stars glittered in the heaven before her.
