Fate Whispered to the warrior 'You cannot withstand the storm' and the warrior whispers back 'I am the storm'

She awoke with the sun, the rays of light hitting her face lightly as it began to rise in the distances. Its rays dancing on the still form of sea the ship was drifting in. She sat up taking a deep breath – soaking up the morning sun before slowly getting to her feet and stretched out her spine.

She did a few more stretches waking up her body before settling down into the seriza – her knees bent under her, heels on bum as she measured out her breathing. Feeling the sun on her skin she closed her eyes listening to the ship below.

It seems other two other people were up - one in the crow's nest who she hadn't noticed last night and one walking somewhere on the lower deck. The rest still in slumber. She could feel the slight breeze caressing her exposed skin like a lover – her dark strands of hair moving in the wind.

In the skies above the clouds slowly drifted across the dark canvas that slowly began to turn a pale blue as the sun slowly rose from the sun.

Dawnya took a deep breath before slowing letting it out - mind drifting as she began to meditate in the heat of the rising sun.

-time-skip-

"GUYS! GUYS!" the panic shouts of chopper echoed across the deck breaking her out of her stupor. "DAWNYA GONE! She disappeared and her bed is cold!" the panicked reindeer ran across the deck.

"What?" Nami called in confused before panic ran down her spine – what if the stranger was an enemy? "where could she be?"

Dawnya, felt a downwards tug at the corner of her lips before peering over the edge of the roof. The sun having crawled higher in the sky and the smell of food wafted up to greet her.

"DAWNYA!" Luffy shouted, jumping about, "WE HAVE FOOD"

"idiot" Nami scolded slapping the back on his head, "not everyone thinks about food."

"Hello?" she called out to those on the deck below only to be ignored.

"Usopp! You were on look out last night did you see anything?"

"No... completely still" Usopp defined before turning pale, "oh god! What if she tries to kill us!"

"Guys, I'm up here" Dawnya called again just a little lounder to the panicking trio, (Chopper, Nami and Usopp)

Being ignored again, Dawnya shifted position. Sitting on the edge on the roof up, watching those on the deck below. Why were they so panicky? Her eyes following the blue haired female that stepped onto the deck, "what are you people shouting about?"

"Vivi its bad! Dawnya gone! And now she knows that there in a princess on board! What happened if she knew about your plans about crocodile!" exclaimed Nami hugging the women.

Dawnya let the words sink for a moment... Vivi was a princess? Why was she on a pirate ship? And a crocodile? Were they talking about the animal or warlord... probably warlord...? What was going on here? She wondered, her brows furrowing in confusion as she watched the chaos below.

"I would say could I help with the crocodile to pay off the debt of saving my life?" she voiced loudly.

"What!" the crewmates below snaped to attention as her voice finally reached them.

"How long have you been sat there?" usopp asked sheepishly.

"since the beginning, I did try to get you attention" she stated brows pinching together slightly. "what are your plans about crocodile? Are you killing one? Are you on about the warlord or animal?"

Vivi sighed, "I shall explain over some breakfast, come on sanji's ready"

Dawnya nodded before dropping off the floor, landing lightly on the deck below, much to the exasperation of chopper, "you're supposed to be resting! Not jumping off the roof. Are you okay? Does anything hurt? How come you were up so early?"

"I woke with the sun" she stated, not being fully truthful to the humanoid but she couldn't lie not to the creature – not to anyone for that matter. It had been drilled into her at a young age that lying was a death sentence waiting to happen.

The group walked into the dining room, or the gallery if she remembered correctly. Following the smell of freshy cooked food. She waited a moment not wanting to take someone else's place. The crew sitting or standing by their chosen seats, before settling into the empty chair next to Zoro.

Taking a small bowl of soup, recommended by the cook and the ships doctor and a roll of bread is watched the interacted of the crewmate in a confused manner. Mainly the captain. She watched as he stretched impossibly long arms across the table to steal food from Usopps plate.

Blue eyes studied the boy's body a moment longer before turning to her food. It appears there was more than one devil fruit user on this crew. And food was a free for all, she thought mutely slowly placing her dishes down before beginning to remove the mask from her face.

Eyes narrowed, as she moved swiftly, in one hand her mask which she placed on the table. The other holding a fork. The metal dug into the table inches away from her plate and the hand that was attempting to steal her signal roll of bread.

If it was free for all on food, she would never give it up freely. She could still feel the phantom pains of hunger crawling at her stomach as she eyed the childlike male.

"There are plenty elsewhere" she muttered towards the captains who had a cheeky grin on his face as he retreated the hand. She took the bowl and leaned back slightly in her chair, looking towards Vivi. "would you like to explain please?" she asked the princess.

"yes, so..." the princess started, Dawnya listening intently as other crewmembers (mainly Nami) added their two cents. Crocodile, who was in fact a person, was trying to take over the country by causing a civil war using his bounty hunting company – baroque works which he is known as MR 0 and his status as shichinbuki, one of the seven warlords for the sea.

Vivi wished to exposed the man and save her country...

Dawnya nodded, placing the now empty bowl down. Now full from the light meal, mask back on her face as vivi finished explaining. "Will you allow me to replay my debt for saving me by helping you?"

"What!? you want to go against a warlord?" exclaimed Usopp, he would rather not go against one yet here he was.

"I have fought against worser odds, and" she paused, thinking of the best way to word the sentence. "I been, seen how power and greed can destroy kingdoms and its people..." She glanced outside blue eyes becoming dull, as her mind drifted to a darker place, a darker time before blinking the thoughts away. Refocused on the princess before her. "It would be a pleasure to help on your quest to save your people"

"if you're sure," Dawnya nodded in responded, before turning towards the blonde male crewmate, "would you like help washing up?"

Sanji shook his head, "I couldn't let a beautiful lady, should as, yourself to do any work. Relax mademoiselle I have this, plus your still recovering~" he exclaimed clutching his heart before starting to take away the dishes from the table.

She waited before standing for the table, following the crowd that was making their way outside. She sat close to the swordman; legs folded underneath herself as she mediated. Feeling the sun and wind on her skin before helping with the childish boy's fish. It was more of her learning how to fish and listening stories the sniper of the crew told and tried to make her believe. It was followed by lunch and the routine continued into the afternoon and later into the evening.

As sat in the infirmary, wating patiently for the other crew member to retire to sleep before retreating from the room taking the silence steps onto the decking as the nights air whipped about her. It wasn't as peacefully compared to the night before – clouds covered some of the glittering stars.

But it was better that the cramped enclosed room of the infirmary.

She jumped towards the wooden railing before making her way to the roof top – where she had made her spot the night before. She settled down blue hues taking in the sight of the partly cloudy night sky before drifting off to sleep.

Never noticing the watchful dark eyes that followed her.

Once again Dawnya awoke with the sun's morning rays, shyly raising on the sea's horizon. She repeated yesterday's action, sketching her tried still half-asleep limbs before moving onto her bare feet slowly movement though easily kata with her sword still in its sheath. The movement flowing into one another - drifting softly like the winds gentle wind. Ignoring the graze of whoever was in the crow nests, that seem to be watching her movements. At least this morning the crew would know where she was without causing a panic.

Taking a deep breath, she settles into the traditional Seriza position. Mind drifting with the wind as she began to meditate.

"Oi chopper!" Zoro called the panicking doctor who again had discovered Dawnya not in the infirmary.

"No time, I need to find Dawnya! What if she's gone and told crocodile our plans!" the doctor exclaimed.

"she's on the roof again meditating has been for the pass hour" the swordman stated bluntly stopping the panicking doctor from causing another panic session within the crew again.

Chopper paused before letting out a sign of relief. The tension in the creature's shoulder deflating at the information. "Oi! moss head!" Sanji shouted, spotting them for the gallery doorway. "get everyone for breakfast! Its ready!"

"stupid shitty brow" the greenette muttered before wandering off gather the adventurous crew.

"Oi! Dawnya!" Zoro yelled up to the female on the wooden roof, he waited a moment debating on how to get up to the roof as a head popped over the edge.

"yes?"

"breakfast" he called up watching as she dropped to the ground with a nod. "you know choppers going to have a go at you again if you keep doing that"

"I shall make sure to not do it in front of him" she nodded, heading towards breakfast.

Time past much as it did the day before. Though she spent most of the day watching the carefree captain, laughing and dancing about his ship. The sword-women thinking over the words for before – that the captain had been able to pick up her blade. Her Tobutori.

She glanced at the blade hidden by her scabbard before nodding coming to a conclusion on the internal debate. "Luffy?" she spoke catching the captain alone sat on ships figurehead.

The captain turned grinning with the ever famous straw-hat placed securely on his head. "I heard you managed to pick up my blade" she stated sitting on the wooden banister besides the male, bare feet dangling in the wind.

"yup, Zoro and Sanji couldn't pick it up but it was super light~"

She nodded, holding the blade for the male to it, Luffy looked confused at the gesture but took the nodachi nevertheless. It was true, he could carry the blade without issue. "Tobutori, can only be held by those she wishes. She is a free bird not to be chained down by masters that demand her allegiance"

She explained to the captain of the ship. "She has found you worthy to weld her. You must value freedom greatly. You may wield her if you wish" thought Dawnya didn't want to offer her previous blade to the pirate captain – she couldn't, wouldn't control the Nodachi blade.

"what's freer that being a pirate?" the teen stated, a grin growing on his face. "I'm gonna be the king of pirates and what's freer than that?"

That statement caught her off guard, being a pirate was freeing? She supposed you wouldn't have to follow any rules and could go anywhere you wanted...

"but," Luffy continued, thrusting the sword back towards her, "you can keep it, I know nothing about swords! That's Zoro job. I like using my fist" Luffy chuckled fist pumping the towards the sky. As she held her previous blade to her chest. Pale hues glittering like stars as she listened to the captain talk about his free life as a pirate.

Once again, she waited for the crew members to fall asleep before she felt the confinements of the infirmly and took her place of the wooden roof of the ship. The captain's words running though her head as she tilted her head upwards – lying back on the wooden floor. She watched the skies glitter with stars as the stars stared back.
