Fate Whispered to the warrior 'You cannot withstand the storm' and the warrior whispers back 'I am the storm'
She sat on the ship's rails waiting for the others to get ready to disembark on the next section of the groups journey, to yuba. The group had just landed their ship on the cost of Erumalu, a ghost town. She jumped off the boat, the sand dances about her bare feet as she readjusted the small bag on her shoulder – she could feel the wind slowly shifted pass her from the sea as she slowly surveyed the surrounding.
Blue hues taking in the destroyed sand cover city of green.
"ARF!" an animal called from the sea, she turned glancing towards the creature, the being a mixture of a turtle and seal. She couldn't help but stare at cute creature.
"That's a kung fu jugon!" Vivi exclaimed, "it's dangerous!" she added as an afterthought seeing the creature beat Usopp to the group. That was something to mention beforehand, wouldn't it?
Dawnya tilted her head; the cute creature was strong. Zoro stepped up beside her in his dessert traveling get up. "You let that thing beat you?" he questioned with disappointment.
"I don't think he let it beat him..." she added, the vents of her mask fluttering as she spoke. "Oh... look"
She pointed to Luffy fighting the creature, the green haired male humming in response.
"Luffy beat it seems"
"It shouldn't have been too hard..." zoro muttered blankly staring at the strange sea creature only for Vivi to become panicked – the princess continued to explained that the creature if losing were become the victor's student.
Dawnya stared at the captain on a pirate crew suddenly gain multiple apprentices somehow teaching them how to punch and get into a stance (she didn't know how seeing as the sea creatures had on legs...)
It took chopper translating and a bribe of food to stop the creatures coming onto land and subsequently dying in the heat of the sands.
The ravenette swordswomen walked in step with the taller green haired male – taking in the view of the dead sand covered city around them. Her eyes narrowed at the sight as she listened to the Vivi explained the situation and history surrounding the sea and the city of green about the dance powder that the king supposedly brought into the kingdom to produce rain.
She nodded along with Luffy and zoro as they explained it in more simpler terms.
"a mysterious powder..."
"...that make rains"
Blue hues grazed about the city. It didn't seem real that a place stuck as this would go from lust greens to a dead barren in just a few years. Though she didn't know much about the normal world – it seems to have gone too fast to be natural. Maybe crocodile had done more that they knew.
The anguished cries of Vivi brought her out of her stupor only for her attention to be snapped to rumble and crumble of ruins in the distance. As Luffy, Sanji and usopp let out their frustration on the building.
"Hey, let's get moving" declared Luffy, a determine look on his face.
Dawnya continued to walk along the sandy dunes of the dessert glancing occasionally at the others all whom seem to be struggling of varying degrees of the heat from the dessert and blistering sun. She stayed to the back of the group, not wanting to draw attention to the fact she wasn't affected by the heat.
A bonus of the cursed fruit it seemed.
She was content to play with the sand in-between her toes ignoring the fight that broke out by the front. She wasn't sure of the feeling overcoming her – but she wanted to move, to whirl as the sand dance about the group. She pushed down the thoughts while absentmindedly passing her bag to Luffy, the teen having lost a bet, she wasn't sure whether it was a good idea to let the boy carry all of their stuff but she didn't question it.
She sighed in content at the breeze that ran though her body. The wind cold against her skin despite the sweltering heat around them.
Zoro glanced to her form at the start the man was worried about the woman – unsure whether she truly would be okay in the heat of the dessert. But it seems she was fairing even better than the princess who was from the sandy island.
Where had she come from to be able to deal with this? Was she one of crocodile's men, working as a spy?
"You seem okay in the heat" he voiced his thoughts, determine to get something about the stranger who'd join his crew in the adventure.
"I'm not really affected by different temperatures anymore" she responded, looking away from the swordman.
"Anymore?"
"I... I had an interesting dark past" she muttered softly, hopping he wasn't able to catch onto the words. He had. He glanced at her blank face – eyes dulling the little light that had grown diming.
"We all have interesting pasts; it makes us who we are. When the world shoves you around, you just gotta stand up and shove back. It's not like somebody's gonna save you if you start babbling excuses"
The light in Dawnya eyes lighten at the swordman, her eyes crinkled in to half-moon shapes as she smiled behind the fluttered values on her mask. "It's an interested way to think about it, though I do agree"
"And did you shove?"
"I shoved and suffocated it" she nodded turning her hues skyward, "and I shall continue to shove forever to be free as the birds in the sky"
Zoro nodded happy with the girls respond, the pair descended into pleasant silence, unaware of the others ears listening in. The silence only broken from usopp shouting in happiness. "Yes! Crags dead ahead!"
"Really?!" Luffy exclaimed a surge of happiness and delight springing a new burst of energy within the boy. Who ran ahead sprinting to the shade the crags provided.
"It he coming back?" she questioned watching another cloud of sand head towards them.
"This is bad!" the teen captain exclaimed waving his hands in the air.
"What? He's coming back?"
"There are dying birds all over the place!" Luffy exclaimed once he was close enough, chopper instantly worried while horror was seen on Vivi face.
"Birds? Luffy stop! Those birds are faker!" the horror in her voice grounded movement – as the realisation that the birds had scammed the pirates out of their supplies.
All of their supplies were gone. Stolen by the scamming birds that had played dead.
She ignored the complains of the group, unhappy with the situation opting to stare at the birds who were giving them smug eyes. Blue hues narrowed. She didn't need chopper to translate the thieving bird's thoughts.
"What are you looking at?" questioned zoro.
"it's them!" Luffy called running after them. She moved. A hand gripping her swords as she sprinted after them. Her feet light against the hot dessert sands soon enough she passed Luffy a cold wind breeze following along as she Sprant.
"Yes! Get our stuff back!" yelled Luffy while ignoring the others letting them not to run and get lost.
Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on how you looked at it; their running brought some unwanted attention. The captain seems to draw chaos to him, luckily for her as she ran ahead after the birds.
Luffy yelled in terror turning tail and sprinting like his life depends on it. Back towards the group with what seems to be a giant lizard hungrily casing him and the casually tag along.
"what's that?"
"There something chasing him!"
"it's the giant Sandora dragon!" Vivi exclaimed.
The giant lizard yes easily killed by the monster trio, what started to discuss the bet whys to eat the beast. "Wait! Where Dawnya-Chan?" Sanji asked noting the lack of the third female in the group.
"She ran ahead of me..." Luffy said before eyes widening, "oh No! It eaten her!" he shouted pointing to the beast.
"What?"
"No way?!"
"That thing eat her, can we even save her?"
"I was not eaten" Dawnya appeared running with a gust of cold wind. Dropping the bags onto the ground with a thump. "I was not able to gain all of the bags back" she said eyes downward to the floor – though she knew these were not the same she half expected to be punished for the error. For her inability to gain all the bags and supplies back.
She couldn't contained the flinched as usopp came up to her, hugging her weeping dramatically, "we saved! Your safe! We thought you been eaten by the Sandora dragon!"
Dawnya stayed tense as the weeping teen hugged her, unsure what to do – unsure of how she should act. She stared blanky at the long nose teen.
As if sensing her discomfort, Sanji called usopp over to help with the cooking.
Passing out what she had reclaimed, the group in silent agreement decided not to let Luffy look after the bags again. After eating the dragon, the attention was turned to the camel who had been chased by the lizard along with Luffy.
The camel, now called eyelashes turned out to be a prevent, wanting and liking only women to ride him. She stared intently at the creature before stepping back. She did not want to ride on the creature. Not the creature who stared at her, Nami and Vivi with hearts in his eyes it's made her uncomfortable.
She stepped back hiding behind the boys, opting to hide behind the boys who glared at the camel (all for different reason mind you).
It hadn't taken long, with Vivi and Nami riding ahead on the camel it hadn't taken long for the group to be left behind as Luffy... drank some suspicious cactus waters. The males along with Dawnya slowly followed the traits of the camels, the group instinctively standing around the female of the group – unknowingly seeking comfort in the slight cold winds that passed by the female.
Well apart from Usopp who was being dragged after being knocked out cold.
Dawnya cocked her head, eyes scanning the horizon for any sign on the navigator, princess and camel. "This way" she stated, hearing the whispering of voices on the winds, directing the mix match group pirates though the scorching sands of the desserts.
At first the males were unsure whether to follow the directions from the female, but soon those thoughts were toss aside as the group caught sight of people in the distance. A back moving dot of the horizon. Let's hope it actually was the people they were having to follow.
Night had finally descended at the group finally managed to meet up with Vivi and Nami. The pair with happily on the camel, she hung back as the stiletto of civilization grew on the horizon.
...only it wasn't what the crew was expecting...
