Fate Whispered to the warrior 'You cannot withstand the storm' and the warrior whispers back 'I am the storm'
The crew had docked on an island named Jaya...
and no, it was not the sky island.
In around about way after a series of different events. The first being searching for treasure at the bottom of the ocean from the sinking ship. Finding out what it meant to be an archaeologist from robin. It was a strange experience to watch the women playing about with the remains of a skeleton in coffin and know its origins.
Dawnya shouldn't help but shuddered thinking of chopper explaining how the owner of the skeleton had passed. A drill hole to the head? Really? And the fact robin worked out where the ship was found...
Dawnya had to admit the women was smart.
Though Luffy almost drowned not realising the sinking boat he was stood on was ACTUALLY, sinking, he'd discovered something that really gave evidence of the sky island. A map of Skypiea, a sky island. That appeared (from the old map to by) was made of clouds.
Though they still haven't figured out how to physically get there.
None other than maybe herself, the crew couldn't fly...
The argument led to the monster trio as Nami called them, to dive to the bottom of the sea and look for more evidence or even a way to get to the island in the sky. Or in the eyes of Nami, salvage the ship and get treasures for money.
Which led to meeting the monkey.
Dawnya blinked at decided to ignore the monkey look alike and opted to keeping an ear of the monster trio... thought she wouldn't admit she was mainly listening to the breathing of one certain person.
This led to the second bit of evidence that people actually living in the sky.
Giant shadows people being casted onto the stormy clouds that had appeared as the boys and the monkey man mashira raced to salvage the boat first.
She couldn't help the shiver race down her spine at the sight of the giant humanoid winged shadows. If that wasn't a sign that people lived in the heavens, she wasn't sure what would be. After the crew escapes from the terrifying sight of the shadows, and the giant sea turtle that decided to eat the sunken ship. And kicking the monkey off there ship. The group had discussed to travel to the closet island. Jaya having found an enteral log post a certain monkey had left behind.
Thought it hadn't been smooth sailing for the female.
She had been shot at.
The swordswomen after the chaos had died returned to her perch at the top of the flagpole, she'd opted to mediate to try and calm the raging winds within her. It was peaceful for a time. The women feeling the wind around the ship, sensing the wind dancing under the wings of the seagulls flying around them.
Peaceful until she felt eyes on her still form, eyes burning into her still form. Eyes she couldn't pinpoint in her mind's eye and something on the wind. Forcing its way towards her at a fast rate. She didn't open her eyes. Kept them closed as she felt the natural pull, and the wind surrounding her, pushing the object slightly off course.
There was a squark followed by a thud.
Dawnya opened her eyes, blue hues focusing on the blue seas that surrounding them on all side. No land. No ships in sight.
She stood surveying the surrounding seas, still feeling those eyes on her. she couldn't help the feeling that the bullet had been aimed at her...
A bullet that shed moved with the wind.
Interesting.
She dropped to the deck, landing softly next to chopper and the dead bird.
"I don't see anyone... nor sense anything" she admitted to the creature as the crew gather equally confused. Though she had felt the eyes, still couldn't pinpoint them.
Though it had unsettled her.
Her emotions though where calm (despite being shot at) till later as someone SAW it.
While the crew was busy around the ship and the land still nowhere in sight, the swordswomen had opted to take a bath. To shake off the feeling of eyes on her. Not telling the others that the bullets might have been meant for her.
She didn't need the others worrying for no reason.
She stepped into the communal bathroom. Glancing at the surprisingly clean bathroom – no doubt nami's work at keeping the boys in check.
Dawnya made quick work of running the bath and removing the material covering her skin. She unhooked the sword and gently placing it above the pile of clothes. Stretched up, taking the long hair out of the ponytail. Letting the strands float down her back.
She started stepping towards the almost scalding hot water. Only pausing in her step, hearing a creak and gasp.
In a whirlwind of black strands dawnya swung on her heels, the nodachi flying to her out-reached hand, the long blade no longer sheaths as she held it to the intruder's neck. The tip inches away on the skin, the invader gulping, slowing raising their hands to signal that they mean no harm. dawnya froze, tension riddling her body as realisation dawned on her. They had seen it
"it's okay, I didn't mean to intrude" Nico robin spoke softly. Taking a step back towards the now closed door. Hoping the distance would calm stormy winds.
Dawnya's eyes harden the hues darkening as she glared at the women – breathing hard though the mask.
"I won't tell" the women continued, her voice soft as she dropped her hands, "I won't tell anyone about the brand"
Dawnya forced herself to breath, forced the muscles to untense themselves and the sword to be lowered. Her sky-blue hues blank as she stared at the women before her, a stranger who seem to fit right into the crew.
"Do they know?" robin probed, wanting to gain a reaction or something from the blank eye's teen. "Do the crew know you were a slave?"
Slave. The tern caused an unwilling shiver to go down the swordswomen's back. "They do not know"
"How did you escape? That brand... they never willingly free their slaves" the older women continued.
An image flashed before dawnya eyes, blood soaking her hands as the ship around her continued to burn. "Hes dead, burning ship" she confessed refocusing on the women.
Robin glanced down, away from the dead look in the others females' eyes. Noting the nakedness and bath behind her. "Would you like me to scrub your back?" the older women offered gesturing to the bath behind them.
Dawnya glanced over her shoulder, remembering the reason for coming into the room. turning and replacing the long blade back into this sheath. Before stepping and sinking into the hot water. The blade never too far from her reach.
There was a rustling of fabric behind her as robin moved to join now silent swordswomen. Taking the silent as an invitation the older women quickly join the bathing.
Robin gave the younger female a small smile, staying quite the pair when about their business. Dawnya staying silent, eyeing the other raven-haired female every now and then. Not wanting to break the silence, not wanting more questions to be asked.
"You know" robin on the one to break the now pleasant silence. Dawnya couldn't help but tense up. "I've seen tattooist do cover ups, on other tattoos and scars..." sky blue hues darted to the older women, "I'm sure they wouldn't mind doing a cover up for that... brand for you. Of course, you'll have to pay but I don't mind helping with the cost"
"Tattooist?" dawnya questioned.
"Yes, they draw art of your choosing permanently onto your skin with ink. You have seen the work on nami's shoulder? It's like that"
Dawnya sunk further into the steamy waters, thinking over the older women suggestion.
It would be beneficial. She would no longer have any connection with those being, only in memory would she remind herself of those times – of those people. She would be able to wear whatever she wanted, to feel the wind on her bare skin. Not confirming them to cover...
"At the next island, would you like me to help find one?"
Dawnya eyed the women before giving a short Kurt nod.
Maybe the woman wasn't too bad...
"LAND HO!"
