Fate Whispered to the warrior 'You cannot withstand the storm' and the warrior whispers back 'I am the storm'

The going merry burst though the layers of white fluffy clouds, the explosion of winds from the Knock-up stream sending them flying onto the new sea of whiteness. Would it hold them? Or would they fall back down to the deep blue below?

The ship lost its momentum, crashing back to the white cloudy seas below. Dawnya slowly let the winds unravel themselves from around her form, body drifting back onto the wooden decking. Black fabric rippling like water in the wind.

It was a strange sensation. Maybe she could except this curse...

"Is everyone alright?" panted zoro, eyeing the crew all but dawnya seemed to be breathing heavily, the crew lying heaving as the weight of what they just accomplished hit them like a brick. They were floating on the sea of clouds in the sky. Something completely unheard of! Sprawled on the ship breath ragged, like the crews' lungs couldn't quite get all the oxygen in. She offered a hand to the closet crewmate – robin. As the ever-cheerful Luffy grinned eyes gleeful, "hey! Hey! Look you guys! Outside the ship!"

"Thanks" the older women muttered. "oh my.." the archologist drifted off, staring at the view surrounding the ship.

Whitness. Blinding fluffy whitness staring at them from alls angles. The crew rushed to the ships railing, sluggish limbs calling out against them as their stared at the surrounding seas with astonishment. Not that the crew noticed their protesting muscles, being too taken in with the shunning views.

"clouds.." exclamimed a gobsmacked chopper.

"on top of the clouds?! How are we sailing on clouds?" Nami wondered trying to wrap her head around the phememonon.

"of course, we can sail on top of it! They're just clouds" Luffy give the navigator a seriously look. Like it was the answer to anything.

"No that's impossible" the crew countered. It shouldn't be possible to sail on clouds. They weren't solid.

Dawnya glanced beweeten a thinking nami and a struggling usopp, the latter still lying on the ground. "In other words, this is the 'sea of the sky' but look, the log pose is still pointing up!" Nami stated showing on the log pose hanging from her wrist. the telltale needle still pointing upwards, seems more traveling on the clouds was needed.

She turned away from the sceince talk of nami, chopper and robin the group disussing the clouds and thoeires on how the sky sea was holding them up – just in time to see usuopp jump into the sea...

"Isnt underneth this sea in the sky from OUR sea..." she spoke softly the flitlers of her mask fluttered as she spoke her eyes narrowing at the sight of the cloudy sea? Water? Below the ships hull.

"thats the thought... but is there really a sea floor here?" robin contiued her statement.

"Did that idiot fall off the cloud!"

The crew yelled, running to the edge of the ship. With a combination for luffy and robins devil fruit the pair to recuse the falling pirate. As yes, he did fall though the sea and into the skies above the blue sea.

Only for a gaint sky octpulus? To follow the boy – zoro making quick work of the deflating creature.

And just when dawnya didn't think the seas could get any weirder – they were now sailing in the skies with sky fish. Fish which robin suggests came from the blue skies bottom floor only to be pushed skywards and adapted over time.

She felt light, lighter than the norm – like one push and she fall off the edge. "You seemed to enjoy yourself" the guff voice of zoro spoke, breaking the relaxed silence between siting pair.

"I believe that what I was feeling" she nodded, turning towards the taller green haired male.

The male grinned, "good to know, didn't know you could fly"

"that makes two of us, it seems I have much to learn" she admitted, turning her attention out towarsd the cloudy seas.

"you look good though" the green haired stratched the back of his head while looking away. Dawnya was silent trying to understand the hidden emotion in his voice.

"hm" she hummed unsure how to responde.

"dawnya" robin voice called, earning the pairs attention, "why don't you try those new clothes I got you? we have time"

She nodded, glancing back towards the male before venturing into the depths of the

"You look good?" robin chuckled.

"Shut up women" grumbled zoro, as the wooden door swung shut behind the female swordswomen.

-x-x-

Dawnya looked down at pile of clothing robin had brought for her. Most of it dark, light fabrics. Dropping the amour waist plates, she felt like she could float off at every moment. she slipped on another pair of hippy trousers – this time black with blue swirls before retying the wore threads that helm the armoured weighted plates in place. She practiced maneuvering in the new trousers, nodding with approve at robins' choice.

Though she would have to question how did robin know her size?

Next onto the top half, she spotted some tops similar to her current one. But it a varied of other dark colours – a frowned tugged at her lips. She needed something a bit more freeing...

There! Light blue hues zoned in on a small piece hidden in the dark pile. It was quite like some of nami's binkins tops she got from alabastra.

Taking the gas mask off, the swordswomen gently placed the breathing apparatus on the nami's desk. Before slipping off the worn black crop top – she placed at the ginger mirror spotting the vibrant black tattoo – for a moment her eyes caught the flash of the brand. Only for the image to melt into the artwork covering her shoulder blade.

She half slipped the clothing over her head as the panic shouts of her crew echoed thought the door.

Slamming the door open, dawnya gripped the handle of her blade- unsheathing the weapon as her haired fluttered behind her. In a moment she stood before Nami – her blade unlocking with the foot of the enemy.

"dawnya!"

Eyes scanning the surrounding deck – Luffy, Sanji and zoro all knocked to the fall. There breathing labored. The wind around them picked up as she let out of breath, not realising that in her rush the black mask laid on the desk of the navigator.

The wind rushed from behind her – shotting towards the crews adversary. The impact hitting him like a cannon sending him back towards the cloud seas beyond the ship. The man eyes behind the bull mask widen in shock – he hadn't expected a blue sea dweller to be able to survive this high.

The man span in the air – as Nami called as to the monster trio the three-laying prone on the floor of the ship as dawnya stared – eyes narrowed at the emery. Her nodachi resting on her shoulder ready for the stranger's next move.

Only for the fight to be interrupted.

By an old man on the back of a Pegasus?

"What?! Who is it this time!" exclaimed Nami

"oooh. I am the knight of the sky!" the old man wearing knight's amour jumped onto the railing.

Dawnya only sparing the old man a glance – her attention soley focused on the adversary. The bull mask fellow glanced from her to the old man – before turning and fleeing.

"He's gone" she muttered.

"Dawnya! Your mask"

"You have a tattoo!?" the able crew responded as she turned towards the rest of the crew – Luffy, Sanji and zoro slowly sitting up right.

She took her mask her fellow ravenette- placing the gas mask back onto her face – covering the bottom half once again as the winds around her calmed down. Once again, her safeguard was in place another Achor to keep her grounded keep her from fleeing to the open skies.

Robin spoke up coming up with a theory as to why the monster trio were defeated soo easier. Oxygen was limited, up high in the skies – those that lived here were more used to it while those from the blue seas were not. In the case of dawnya, robin theory which chopper nodded along with women, was that due to her devil fruit – she didn't need to breath as long as she was surrounded by air and that didn't change the higher, they got.

Didn't need to breath? Maybe she will try it some point...

Dawnya just nodded, not fully understanding the science behind the theory. The outcome she understood – the theory as to why... nope. Noting that there was no immediate danger and the old man talking about the height difference of the blue and the cloudy sea the swordswomen decided to venture to higher grounds.

With a swift jump the ravenette, flew upwards, perching on her spot just in case someone tried an attack again. Unawared for a certain green haired male watching her every movement.

Taking a deep breath – her sky hues surveyed the horizon. Rolling clouds for all to see, eyes flickered about – some clouds looked different, but she couldn't tell whether her eyes where deceiving her or not.

She felt the light breeze carness her bare shoulders – a foreign feeling for her. She could feel the burning sensation replaced by the continuous pricking of a needle. The large tattoo covered most of her shoulder blade – a mountainous scene with a setting sun flowing river and flying birds. Birds that appeared to be growing larger as it moved up towards her neck – feathers flying.

At the start she hadn't wanted specific just something that covered the burnt brand, something that showed freedom and let the tattooist have free range. The man even going far for other ideas if she was interested down the line.

She could image the dark black lines marring her already scared skin – it would be a patch work of disorder. Disorder but freedom.

She watched from above as the ship began to move – the sails flappy slightly in the breeze. The crew exploring the cloudy sea they had surrounded themselves on.
