Cole sighed as he, Jay, and Kai walked around the moon pool late at night, armed with nothing but their heightened senses and a flashlight each to light the way. The only reason they were out here at near midnight on a school night was that Jay had come running to his friends. It had taken Nya and the others a few minutes to calm him down. When they did, however, the ginger-haired teen believed some horrifying news. He claimed that he was walking to school, taking a shortcut through the woods, and swore he saw Dr. Kiken and her lab assistants in their trucks snooping around the moon pool and the surrounding area.

That set everyone on high alert and Cole and Kai volunteered to follow Jay to the spot he thought he saw them.

Ever since Dr. Kiken had almost exposed the werewolf secret and taken Kai, Nya, and Morro away, everyone was rightfully terrified. For weeks, the teens were all scared to travel anywhere alone and either walked in pairs or with their parents. Despite the pack escaping and destroying any form of evidence she possesses, it didn't stop the scientist from going public with her discovery of real-life werewolves in the modern world. Thankfully, she hadn't mentioned any names; probably figuring that she couldn't make statements like that without proof.

That did nothing to save her public image, however.

They had learned from Pixal and Harumi that she lost her job and her reputation for her werewolf theory due to a lack of actual evidence. That didn't stop them from worrying that she might return and continued looking for evidence since their last encounter. Even though they were sure she wouldn't be back to their territory, they had to be certain that it was still safe for them.

"You must have been seeing things." Cole sighed when they found nothing.

"But I definitely saw headlights." Jay insisted, but there were no tracks or scents.

"Well, they haven't come back, so..." Kai trailed off, looking tired and bored.

"They've been gone for two months and Harumi's promised us that her family hasn't heard from Dr. Kiken since she left Ninjago." Cole agreed with his boyfriend, but this flipped the switch in Jay.

"I know that!" He snapped, his eyes burning, and the couple froze. They knew one of Jay's greatest fears was losing his pack, and thanks to that scientist he almost did. Like Morro, the ginger-haired teen had no werewolf relatives and had to rely on his friends and their families for knowledge of his own kind and he couldn't bear to lose any of them. Especially his true love Nya. When they realized that Jay was close to crying, Kai and Cole gave each other a look and hugged the freckled teen.

"Look, Jay, we all understand, I still expect that mad doctor to walk through the door any second and lock us all up too," Cole said softly, remembering the nightmares he would have of Kai in a cage, screaming and crying out for Cole as he was dragged away into the darkness. Where Cole would never see him ever again. "But she's long gone and would be brain dead to come back here and stalk us again."

"Yeah, everyone now knows she's a raving lunatic making up stories and she'll probably be locked up in the loony cage if she comes back." Kai joked and this did get a chuckle out of his boyfriend and Jay.

"I guess so," Jay muttered, though he still looked worried.

"Come on, let's go home." Cole sighed and they all headed back to his truck...

The next morning, the pack were all gathered in their homeroom at school to talking about Jay's concerns. The only one from their group not sitting with them was Harumi. She was still sitting and hanging out with her cheerleading squad and some guys from the soccer team. After two months, she and Morro had made up fully and had begun dating, but Harumi wanted to keep it quiet until after graduation. Morro was a little annoyed by this but respected her decision, and the only ones who knew about their relationship were the pack.

Everyone was shocked by this and had been trying to convince him to break up with her.

They were scared that if her father found out about their relationship he would start investigating and find out that Morro was still a werewolf.

"We didn't find anything out there," Cole said when they were asked what happened last night.

"Even if it was her, why would she come back now after two months?" Kai asked, barely holding in a loud yawn.

"Well, if she didn't turn up again, she won't find any DNA," Lloyd smirked, feeling a little smug. As soon as Terri announced her new discovery, the entire pack, including the parents, all cleaned their territory and cleaning up all their tracks and any form of evidence they could find in the city and the forest. It did mean that they had to spend the last full moon locked away. But now their parents were certain it was safe the teens could actually go out again.

"Indeed, as long as she's only looking for you three the rest of you are safe." Pixal pointed out, trying to lighten the mood, but failed miserably. As they fell into an awkward silence, Pixal noticed something. "Shouldn't you guys be bouncing off the walls?"

"What?" Morro asked.

"Full moon tonight, remember?" She replied, but they all just shrugged.

"We're fine," Nya promised and looked to Morro. "You've told your foster parents you're staying at Zane's tonight, right?" She asked and he nodded. They had all been extremely careful since they were almost exposed, but if Dr. Kiken was back on the prowl they needed to take extra precautions. The boys would have to go way out in the forest, further than before. They had got as far away from Ninjago City as they could. Just then, Miss. Koko suddenly burst into the room with a big smile on her face.

When she saw how bored and quiet the classroom was, however, she frowned and clapped her hands loudly, startling all her students.

"Come on, everyone! Did you all seriously forget what today is?" She exclaimed but everyone just made a few grumbles and sounds. "I'm talking about the Careers Fair, today!" She squealed and everyone groaned. "These are your futures we're talking about, not mine." She added and then told everyone to spend the lesson to think about what they wanted to do in life and prepare for the careers fair.

"I know what you guys are like so I made you all some CVs for the fair!" Pixal smiled excitedly as she pulled out color-coordinate folders for each of them. Inside there were seven detailed curriculum vitae for them to present to the careers fair.

"Sometimes, you scare me, Pixal." Zane smiled playfully and his girlfriend giggled before she kissed his cheek.

"Like there's anyone worth talking to in that bunch of losers," Chad called out to the group, earning a series of laughs from his gang and the cheerleaders, with the exception of Harumi.

"Yeah, I'll be working at my Daddy's fancy spa anyway." Maggie beamed happily.

"Yeah, working for someone else is a chump's game, we'll be millionaires before we're twenty-five and you lot will be slaving for peanuts until your ninety." Chad laughed loud. "I don't need a career, because soon they'll know my name as I lead my family's business until it stretches across the country!"

"Oh yeah, and that'll magically happen with you not doing any work at all, will it Chad?" Cole smirked as the soccer player stumbled and spluttered over his words and the pack all laughed at the jock's bright red face as he turned away. Even Harumi was laughing at him and her cheerleading squad quickly followed their leader. As his friends all laughed and talked around him, however, Lloyd could only stare at his CV as one question rang throughout his brain.

What did he want for his future?...

That afternoon, all classes were canceled and everyone in their grade was gathered in the gymnasium where there were over a dozen booths scattered around the giant gym, all advertising different careers or collages for the teens to look at and consider. There were also several teachers observing and helping out any students that needed it. Through the large crowd of students, Lloyd found himself walking around in a daze as he looked at all the options.

He was certain that because there were so many he would find something.

He was quickly proven wrong, however. There were some he didn't know much about like an accountant, nurse, advertising copywriter, aeronautical engineer, humanitarian worker, amenity horticulturist, animator, architectural technologist. He couldn't see many of his classmates interested in those careers. Others were stuff he recognized. There were things like a caterer, chiropractor, dentist, doctor, journalist, pharmacist, psychologist, sports development officer, teacher, vet, and writer.

There were some public service jobs such as the armed forces, firefighter, paramedic, police officer, and social worker.

He knew his werewolf genes would certainly help with those kinds of jobs. However, he could easily see the risks that could happen if he did apply. Unfortunately, none of the other careers caught Lloyd's attention either. There were collages he could look at instead, but without a clear career in mind, he didn't think it would help. For inspiration, the blond teen looked around and saw his friends were already focusing on different careers. He was hoping that if he could see what they wanted he might get some idea of what he should do for his future.

Nya had her heart set on an automotive engineer career while her brother seemed to be interested in hair and beauty studies.

Jay was practically drooling over the video game developer and designer booth. Zane was looking into options that would help him get into a medical school like his father. Harumi and Pixal pretty much had their careers sorted already with their families' respective companies. Instead, they were just looking at different colleges they considered attending. Cole was looking back and forth between the health and sports booth and the different public service ones.

Morro looked to be in the same predicament as Lloyd, but instead of wandering around like Lloyd he was browsing different leaflets for collages and talking to the teachers.

Lloyd sighed and was about to leave when he saw Zane and another student talking to a young woman a little older than them. That wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the fact that she was making direct eye contact with the blond teen. Zane and the other student were too busy discussing the company to noticing anything. Her scent told him she was human. When he saw that she was with a science organization, Lloyd immediately suspected that she was an ally to Dr. Kiken.

Or had heard about her discovery and was here to check for evidence herself.

But when he saw how relaxed Zane was when talking to her, he began to doubt that rather ridiculous theory. He and the others often joked about Zane having a secret werewolf power that seemed to predict danger before it even happened. So for him to be so calm and collect right now told Lloyd it was safe. That didn't mean the blond teen was going in alone, however. Lloyd cleared his throat just loud enough for the others, minus Pixal and Harumi, to hear and they all moved in as Lloyd approached Zane and the lady.

She had long maroon-brown hair with a blue streak in it.

Her face was covered in makeup and she was suited in a light grey blouse with a black blazer and matching pencil skirt and black high-heels.

"We're also the leading innovator in medical and genetic research." The lady said when the pack reached her booth.

"It says here that you can sponsor the most promising young prospects through university." The other student pointed out on the leaflet.

"Yeah, why don't you talk to Craig about that?" She suggested and the kid all but ran off, leaving the lady and the teen werewolves alone. Once she was sure it was safe, she turned to look at Kai and Nya. "Hello, you two; your parents told me to say good luck for today." She smiled in a whisper so only their sensitive hearing could pick it up. This startled the group. This human stranger not only clearly knew about werewolves but she also seemed to know Ray and Maya.

"You know our parents?" Kai asked skeptically.

"Yes, they've been working with us for many years now." The lady responded and Nya gasped.

"You're the fixers?" She asked in shock. Everyone knew that Ray and Maya worked for a strong yet extremely private company that also helped protect the secret and all werewolves as best as they could, but they were all under the impression that the company was strictly werewolves only. Ray or Maya had never once mentioned human employees.

"Seliel Katana; graduate recruit, White Wolf Corporation." The lady, Seliel, introduced herself as she shook their hands.

"Real subtle," Cole said what she told them the company's name.

"This was an opportunity to let you all know what's going on." She said, choosing to ignore Cole's little jab. "A few employees know the secret - most don't - but some of our staff, and several senior executives are werewolves."

"In big business?" Jay asked, a little shocked.

"Why not?" Seliel smirked. "With their gifts, they have a lot to offer."

"Sat behind a desk all day?" Kai frowned at the idea

"It's not all paperwork; we all work to protect and serve the company's interests and our own." She replied.

"What, like secret agents?" Lloyd asked in awe at the idea.

"If you like." She chuckled. "Our interests are global and there's a lot of travel, but the perks are great."

"What perks?" Morro asked, getting more and more curious like his friends.

"On full moons, they fly the werewolf employees out to a giant nature preserve Norway, in a private jet." She giggled at the teens' starstruck expressions. They could only imagine getting to fly to Norway every month for a full moon in their very own private jet to spend it in the wide-open lands of a nature preserve, far away from any city or risk of humans.

"Excuse me, miss?" The student from before said as she suddenly appeared seemingly out of nowhere. "Craig said I should speak to you about your science program?" She asked and Seliel nodded and began talking through the different science programs they offered. The others took this as their cue to leave and they split off to look around the careers fair more. Left alone once again, Lloyd couldn't help but get a sinking feeling as he stared at Seliel and the White Wolf Corporation.

There must have been a reason they hadn't learned about this before now, and Lloyd was determined to get to the bottom of why...

"So what did everyone think of the Careers Fair?" Cole asked his friends while they were all gathered at Kai and Nya's apartment for a movie night. Ray and Maya had left for a work trip two days ago so they weren't home but they did leave plenty of food and money if their children needed it. It had taken a lot of convincing to get them to go on this trip. They were scared for their children and the pack's safety if Dr. Kiken was still hanging around.

When it seemed they were safe, however, Ray and Maya finally agreed to go on this work trip.

But they made sure to give Kai and Nya very strict rules. They had to either call them every night or check-in with their neighbor, they couldn't go anyone alone, and they had to be home at sunset at the latest. They also left clear instructions for Misako and Dr. Julien to let their children spend the full moon with them. Kai and Nya wanted to talk to their parents about their conversation with Seliel and the White Wolf Corporation, but they weren't answering their calls.

The teens could only assume that they were really busy and would call them back with they had the time.

"It seemed interesting and informative," Harumi said, feeling slightly uncomfortable at their harsh stares. Neither of the Smith siblings had invited their former nemesis to this movie night, Morro had and said the others wouldn't argue if they showed up together. When Harumi told her boyfriend about her worries around the pack, he insisted that they just needed to warm up to her just like he did.

"Yeah, the Westview Institute has great engineering courses Nya and I could apply for!" Jay squealed in excitement and Nya giggle at her boyfriend's optimism.

"I'm thinking of going to the East Shores College for their hair and beauty course as well as physical therapy," Kai mentioned as he re-read the leaflet he had taken from the East Shores College booth.

"Really?" Lloyd asked the brunette he considered a brother. He knew Kai was a little vain and loved experimenting with different hair and makeup products, most of which he took from his sister.

"Yeah, I always thought you'd be one of those gay soccer players always causing drama on Twitter." Morro joked, getting a few muffled giggles from the others and an angry flustered look from Kai. "I'm looking to get into public services, like the police or something, and the Northside College has some pretty cool colleges."

"My father has already told me that I will inherit the company, so I'm looking to study business and engineering." Pixal smiled happily. All of them knew that without a doubt that she and Zane, and probably Nya and Jay too, could get scholarships to any college or university they applied for.

"The Oakland Institute has the best program that will almost be guaranteed my application into medical school," Zane told the others and no one was surprised the pale teen wanted to be a doctor like his father. "What about Cole?"

"Oh, well, I'm kinda torn between sports and the armed services." The noirette admitted and Kai's face suddenly lit up.

"Hey, that's not a bad idea! We could work together!" The brunette beamed, but when they all gave him a confused look he continued. "You become a gym coach or something and work your clients into a good sweat so then they can come to me to help ease their sore muscles." He said as he started massaging Cole's back and shoulders. The noirette's confusion melted into a comfortable smile and leaned into his boyfriend's touch as the brunette started kissing his neck.

Before it could go any further, Kai was suddenly hit in the face with a flying pillow.

It wasn't a hard hit, but it shocked Kai enough to cause him to fell off the couch onto his butt.

"What the hell Nya?!" Kai snapped at his sister, who had another pillow armed and ready to fire.

"Mom and Dad told me to make sure that you and Cole don't get too hot while they're gone." She smirked at her brother's scarlet face, only to scowl when she saw his fingernails. "IS THAT MY NAIL POLISH?!" She screeched and everyone turned their attention to Kai's dark crimson nails.

"Um... maybe?" He shrugged and barely managed to dodge another pillow. Within a matter of seconds, Kai and Nya were pillow fighting and chasing each other around the apartment as they laughed and shouted. Everyone laughed at this while Harumi leaned closer to Morro.

"Does this happen all the time with you guys?" She whispered and he just shrugged. As everyone talked amongst themselves and the Smith siblings continued to chase each other Lloyd's eyes were drawn to the collections of leaflets dumped on the coffee table in the middle of the room. He casually grabbed them and started reading through them. No one noticed Lloyd's face growing pale when he saw how far away their different choices of colleges were.

The closest one was Kai's, but even that was at least a four and a half drive to get there from Ninjago City.

Lloyd couldn't stop the sinking feeling in his stomach when it finally hit him that all his friends were moving away after graduation. They all had their futures already planned out and they were leaving Ninjago City, probably forever, and he couldn't even think of what to do during the summer. His friends had already planned that out too. His eyes became wet and he seemed to forget how to breathe.

"You ok Lloyd?" Harumi suddenly asked, only now noticing his distressed state. The others heard that and stopped what they were doing to look at the blond teen.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine, just gotta use the bathroom real quick." He laughed off and headed for the bathroom. He had been in Kai and Nya's home to know which room was which and where they were so he didn't need to ask for help. As soon as Lloyd locked the door, he could hear the others resume their own activities again. A sudden yelp followed by a cry of victory told him Nya had finally caught her brother. But Lloyd couldn't find it within himself to care.

He slumped onto the floor and pressed his back against the door as he listened to his friends laugh and talk about their own plans for their bright futures.

Without realizing it or understanding why Lloyd started to silently cry into his trembling hands...
