. . . . .

Rin looked around at the group of adults before her. The only one missing was Kiisu. She was starting to miss the guy. She was always in the basement of Konoha's hospital, but barely saw him over these past few weeks. That might be due to what she had done to him under Shiro and Fara's supervision, but that was something that needed to be done, and she still wanted to see him. The more worrisome thing was that Hanku was here as well, as though taking Kiisu's place.

What she had done worked, but just barely. She wasn't sure if she could do it again if needed. She firmly believed she just needed more practice. However, she didn't have the means to obtain said practice. The subjects to test on. The more willing the better. She frowned, mostly to herself. Kakashi and Obito would be able to if they had the chakra control she had.

Lunamon stood in front of her being the adorable bunny she always was. Her paws pressed against the pendant on her chest. Her little claws tapped against it.

"Whenever." Shiro spoke, leaning against the back walk.

Lunamon nodded. "Rin."

"Hmm." Rin replied, too lost in her own thoughts.

"I need to digivolve."

Rin slowly looked up from the floor. She blinked slowly. "I'm sorry. I thought you said you needed to digivolve."

Lunamon looked up at her human. She clenched her fists and nodded. "I did."

"No, I'm certain I heard wrong." Rin laughed. She leaned against her thighs, laughing. Her vision hyper focused on the tiled floor and the growing lines of meticulously written out seals on it. "Silly me, always hearing wrong."

Lunamon walked further into Rin's vision. "You did not hear wrong. I need to digivolve."

She stared at Lunamon. The pink of her soft gummy flesh seemed too dull in color. Her eyes seemed more red than pink today. A trick of her mind? Just like she was hearing wrong? Her mind told her something else. Her mind told her no. Strong tan arms wrapped around Rin, and a hand covered her mouth as she took a deep breath. Rin screamed.

The sound was muffled by Hanku's hand. Hanku looked at Naginata. Naginata was looking at Rin with wide eyes. He walked over, blocking Lunamon from Rin's view.

She stopped screaming. Naginata waved a hand. Hanku removed his hand.

Rin smiled. "Don't be silly, Lunamon. You don't need to do that. We've got plenty more time."

Naginata reached behind him for Lunamon, but couldn't grab the digimon weaving in and out of his reach.

"N-no. No. We do not." Lunamon spoke. "I can't protect you or anyone if I don't know how to digivolve. Coronamon and Gabumon can't do it all by themselves."

Rin gasped. "No. That's stupid. Don't be stupid. We've got time. We've got plenty of time. You can do that later."

"It's okay-" Naginata spoke up, only to be interrupted when Rin started screaming again. Hanku's hand quickly covered her mouth. Tidbits of her screaming passed through Hanku's hand as Rin shook her head with such intensity it was a surprise she didn't break her neck.

"This is going badly." Fara looked back at Shiro.

"No shit." Shiro spat. "We need Nonou for this."

"We can't use Nonou right now though." Naginata ran his hands through Rin's hair.

"It's either Kiisu or Minato's friend." Hato frowned, standing stiffly as though she were afraid to touch anything in the room.

"Too suspicious." Shiro automatically replied. He started pacing.

Naginata continued carding his fingers through her hair. "She's the one who decided to do all this. She doesn't want to die. Same as any other human…"

"We're all dead if we break her." Hanku spoke over Rin's screaming. "Not even my Clan protections will hide any of us from The Fourth's wrath. That's not even touching the other….things."

Lunamon shook her head, torn between what needed to be done and watching her human struggle. "It's…forget I said anything." She looked at Shiro. "I-I can't do it if she doesn't want me to." She looked down, paws pressed against her chest. "I don't want Rin-chan to look at me and think of Kirigakure." She looked back at Rin. She walked over, and pressed her hands to her human's leg. "It's okay Rin. I don't need to Digivolve. Everything is okay."

Rin slowly fell silent and stopped shaking her head. Rin looked down at her with wide eyes. Hanku removed his hand. Rin smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. "I'm mad at you."

Lunamon nodded.

"Never lie to me again."

Lunamon squeaked, and pulled at her ears hard enough to make herself wince in pain. "Then I need to di-"

Naginata turned and slapped his hands over Lunamon's mouth. "Can you ask later? Both of you?" He looked at Rin.

Lunamon nodded, still pulling at her ears and any other part of herself she could reach. Naginata grabbed one of her paws.

"Lunamon doesn't need to ask me anything." Rin replied in a soft voice. "Right? Because she's not a liar."

Lunamon nodded quickly.

"I knew I didn't hear correctly." Rin smiled, her hands twitched, fingers clenching and unclenching.

"The fuck kind of summon relationship is this?" Shiro pinched the bridge of his nose. "No wonder she caught onto Kiisu."

"Of course Rin." Lunamon nodded again. Her pink eyes looked everywhere except at her human. The curl on the top of her head drooped.
