It was now October with UA entrance only four months away. And for middle schoolers, it had been the start of the second term.
Itsuka, however, has noticed something weird with Midoriya alongside Uraraka within the entire term. When they would go on the afternoon training, Midoriya would be more visibly more tired than both girls.
Kendo noticed this trend the most, especially when sparing. His form would be slower. He would time out far more. Usually, Midoriya could stay alien for as long as 2 hours or longer if he pushed himself, but now he would time out for around 30 minutes panting and breathing heavily.
All Might had noticed the same thing he was about to say something, but Uraraka and Kendo had come over to the beach to the surprise of his proteges and himself.
Right now, they were on the beach of a few training spars with his aliens. Midoriya timed out laying on the sand, breathing heavily.
From afar, both girls looked in concern."Do you think he's gonna be okay?"
"Hmm."Kendo put a finger to her chin to see Midoriya struggling to get back up. Before it clicked."Hey, Midoriya!!" She said, walking up to him."Let's spar!"
"Huh? Right now?" He said, struggling to get back up.
"Yeah. Why not? it could be fun."
"A-Alright." He said, taking a fighting stance.
They both took a fighting stance, Kendo threw a punch, this punch wasn't powerful or anything too special, but the fact he was not able to dodge was concerning.
Midoriya staggered back before a leg swept before pinning him to the ground."You have been overdoing it, haven't you?"
Midoriya flinched before looking away from the girl.
"Midoriya, look at me."She said with authority in her voice the boy reluctantly looked at her."I know you're eager, but over training, your body will do the opposite of what you want it won't help with your process at all. Right now, you can't last a minute fighting me. How do you expect to beat the entrance exam? Your mind and body need to be taken care of. overworking yourself will only result in disaster."
All Might in his skinny form was about to go over, but...
"Kendo, I know, but we're going up against hundreds of applicants! And I don't want to just pass. I want to excel! If it means breaking myself over and over, I'll do anything to reach my goal!"The words inspired all of them, All Might did everything not to bulk up right then and there.
Kendo groaned."I get it. But you need to take a break."
All Might walked up to them, "I suspected, but if you're so eager to get in some extra work, I'll change up your plans to put in extra work. Let this old man handle it."
"You're not old."
The skinny man just laughed before then snoring could be heard from All Might.
Everyone looked at Midoriya, who was from the overtraining, finally passed out, and from what they could tell, he wasn't waking up anytime soon
"He's working so hard for his goals! I just have to give in just as much effort! To give my parents an easier life!" Uraraka thought to herself.
Kendo could only smile at the boy willing to do anything for his goal. It was kinda inspiring, to say the least. She got him dusting away the sand on her body.
"I'll take young Midoriya home."
Kendo waved him off. "I'll carry this idiot back home," Kendo said before picking up Midoriya and placing him on her back.
"I am supposed to be his martial arts teacher as someone who overworked before I should've seen the signs." She said with some guilt.
"I'll work with you. You shouldn't walk alone it's almost dark."
"I can handle myself!"
"I know that, but you have Izuku on your back. You're not going to be able to fight with him lying on your back."
"I'll manage."
"Stop being stubborn. I wanna help!"
"Fine, if you wanna help, then you should keep up."
All Might watched with her a smile as his proteges were carried off to sleep soundly on Kendo's back regardless of the two arguing.
"Let him know he can take the two days off. His body needs to recover!!"
"We will Toshinori sensei!!"Said both girls as they waved goodbye.
Next Day
Midoriya woke up the next day, the sunlight peering through the curtains. He looked at the time realising he overslept.
"Crap! I need to begin my training!"
As he tried to get up to do some exercise, his body groaned, and the fatigue hit him like a truck. "Uh... my body feels so tired."
He looked at the note stuck to his phone 'Toshinori Sensei says you can take the next two days off, knowing you, you probably won't feel comfortable staying home and doing nothing so we're planning on going to the mall you should join us~Itsuka.'
"The mall...? I guess that could be fun."
'P.S. We're coming over at 14:15~Uraraka.'
Midoriya looked at the time, seeing it was 14: 00."Crap! They will be here in 15 minutes!! I should probably wear something that isn't too weird." He mentally panicked as he began looking through his closet.
Somewhere in Kiyashi Ward, a man dressed in a brown business suit slams his fist onto the door of a rundown and shabby apartment building. The windows are cracked and boarded up, the sides of the outer wall are falling apart, and the cement walkway is cracked.
"Yo, Animo! I know you're in there! Open up!"
Getting no reply, the man pulls out a key, unlocks the door, and steps inside.
The apartment is cluttered with filthy tanks and cages strewn about with various animals from fish, lizards, birds, and rodents. The TV appears to be left on in the corner of the large room.
The man holds his nose. "Smells like a zoo in here."
He walks through the apartment, stepping over the smaller cages, looking for the only human resident. Entering the farthest end of the living room, the man curiously watches a large frog hop about its terrarium, oblivious to the figure approaching him from behind.
The man turns around and yelps in surprise.
"How did you get in?" Demands a scratchy-voiced old man.
The withered old man has greenish skin, long white hair that clearly hasn't been washed in weeks, and crooked teeth. The man's clothes are dark and ragged they too have not been washed or mended, as his shirt is torn up in places.
The man composes himself, fixing his tie. "The key, I am still your landlord, remember? Maybe not because your rent is 6 months past due."
Animo stares at the man as if he's crazy before shrugging him off. "All my funds go into my research." He says it in a way that sounds like that should have been obvious. "Now get out! You're disturbing me." Animo turns away and fiddles with something on his desk.
The landlord gazes at the state of the apartment, noting the smells, grime, and animals. "Looks like you were disturbed long before I got here, pal. Listen, doc. You and your furry friends are out on the street unless you pony up the green."
Animo smirks. "Pony up?" He turns opens the terrarium and reaches in for the large frog. "Interesting choice of phrases." He places the frog on the floor before reaching for something from his desk. "You must be an animal lover. Then you're gonna love this."
Animo equips himself with a very strange device that looks like it was put together with various pieces of kitchen utensils, pieces of household appliances, and other small electronic devices. The helmet part of the device is literally a bowl strainer with two long antennas attached to it. Strapped to his chest is a circular disk with red lights and various dials.
Staring at the device, the landlord bends over, holding his gut in a fit of laughing. "What's that? You a member of the Moose Lodge or something?Ha-Ha!!"
"This is my transmodulator. Phase number one. It creates and accelerates mutants at the genetic level. Observe"
He began turning the dial on his chest as he shot red energy towards the frog. It began to enlarge to the shock and fear of the man.
"Th-Thats not possible you're quirkless! You can't do that!!"
"Quirkless, not powerless."
The frog lunged at the man before gulping him down. The landlord desperately tried to free himself. To the delight of the crazy doctor, who began laughing like a madman.
"HAHAHAHA!! Aaah... My work is truly brilliant. How will I Aloysius J. Animo is supposed to show the world my genius? But the power source of the Transmodulator is quite...unreliable. I'll need a distraction to steal the prototype power source constructed by that rodent! "
Like as if an answer spoke to him...
"Kiyashi Ward Super Mall is home to various attractions now with a petting zoo!! Come over and experience some animal love!"
"Ah, just what the doctor ordered."
Midoriya, Uraraka, and Kendo walked through the mall window shopping. The girls were having a pretty good time, but Midoriya...
"I-I-I-I c-cant believe I-I'm actually a-at the m-m-mall w-w-with g-g-girls! That isn't my mom!!... Okay that sounds pretty pathetic now I say it out loud." He thought to himself he's cheeks with a slight red tint.
"Uh, Midoriya, you okay? Your face is weird." Uraraka pointed out.
Midoriya began to blush in embarrassment."S-Sorry." Before composing himself.
"So where are we headed towards first?"
"I was hoping to look at some motorcycles, I heard the new 990X is on display! I heard that baby can from 9 to a hundred in no time!! Mumble mumble mumble."
Midoriya and Uraraka looked at each other in confusion before looking back at Kendo, who was going off.
"Is this what I sound like?"
Uraraka nodded." But she seems so happy. I don't want to stop she looks so cute!"
Kendo proceeded to grab both their arms and began dragging them away."C'mon, let's go!"
This caused Izuku to blush profusely, especially the fact he was kinda holding hands with a girl...
" I'm totally holding hands with a girl!! Okay... She's dragging me around like a child, but this is the closest thing I got!" He thought to himself.
Unbeknownst to them as a girl with pink hair and horns, enters the mall with a group of friends, from behind, followed by a boy with black hair and with his own friends.
"C'mon girls, let's go shopping!!"
"Will pay for everything, Mina. we need to thank you for saving our lives!"
"Aw, thanks, guys!"
"Yo Kirishima wanna go check out some new Manga. I heard some Naruto light novels are on sale!"
"Oh, no way! Let's go! Maybe I can get some new workout material!!"
The group of teenagers began to scatter, as from behind a man in a trench coat entered the mall. "The world will grovel at the genius of Dr. Animo!!"
Back with Midoriya.
Izuku and the girls had decided to go to an old superhero shop with some superhero merch from the past.
"Woah! I can't believe they still have this! My dad left me some comic books from the old era!"
"Oh, for real? You gotta borrow me some!" Uraraka said with enthusiasm.
"Hey, from the old comic books, who's your favourite hero? Mines the Hulk, green, muscles and super strong!"
Uraraka put a finger to her chin."Mhmm... I guess Spiderman, call me sucker but I'm into nerdy super strong superheroes."
"Nerdy, super strong... Oh, you just described Midoriya." Kendo pointed out
This caused the girl to blush profusely, "I-Its not like that at all!!"
! who was looking at Captain America's shield memorized by the shield.
"I take it yours, Captain America?"
"Y-Yeah. I guess I can relate to him the most. Someone who was once weak but regardless fought for what was right even if he didn't have powers heck if he was the weakest guy he never stopped fighting for what he believed in. I-I guess wanna be like him."
Kendo and Uraraka looked at the boy before smiling. Midoriya then noticed something that brought stars to his eyes. He gasped, " Captain America the First Avenger?! The movie is out of all my MCU collections. I have been missing this one!!"
As he went to make a grab for it, he suddenly collided with his as they both made a grab for the movie.
"Huh?"
"Eh?"
They both looked at each other. The girl in front of him was a girl with horns.
Being the selfless person he was, he generously gave the girl the movie. "Here you can have it."
The girl shook her head. "No, I can have it. You don't need it!" The words didn't match her actions as she gave him the movie.
"Huh?" Came the collective of the three teenagers.
"Oh crap did I say something wrong?" She said in English.
Midoriya wasn't fluent in English but noticed something weird ever since he found the Omnitrix when he would look at some old footage of All Might speaking in German, or Spanish he found that he could understand everything.
"Oh, having trouble speaking Japanese?" He said in English.
The girl brightened before speaking in English herself." Y-yo speak English?! I'm so happy! I haven't been able to meet someone who can speak English! Oh, you can have the movie. I've got like 6 discs already!"
"Six?! I barely can get one, " he mumbles out.
"Well, the first 3 I just got to have because why not the 2 were Blu-ray and since I didn't want to have an uneven number so I got another one!"
"No way, I can't even get one, and you got six?!"
She just shrugged. "When it comes to anything Marvel, I can pretty much get anything. I am from America, and my family has been basically hoarding the stuff since the pre-quirk era! Though when it comes to manga, I have been failing." She said with a depressed aura.
"Oh no way I could get you any manga or anime I-I'm kinda an expert in old shounen manga anime"
"Awesome! Here is my number! I'm Tsunotri Pony, by the way." She said before writing it on a paper and handing it to the boy. "Maybe you can help me with my Japanese, and I could give you some Marvel or DC or whatever you're into." She waved goodbye."Uh... I didn't get your number!"
"I-Izuku Midoriya"
Looking at the paper."I-I-I got a-another girl's numbers!!"
The two girls who were feeling left out of the conversation could only roll their eyes as a wave of envy washed over them. Before shaking the head. "C'mon Casanova, let's go!"
A few minutes later
They were sitting in the food court enjoying some yogurt. They all sat Uraraka with a blissful happy expression on her face. "So good!"
"See, Midoriya told you today would be fun," Kendo said.
"Yeah, but I feel like I should be training." He said even though the whole day he felt exhausted." If I'm going to get into UA, then I'll have to train!"
"Deku?"
Midoriya flinched from the nickname, turning around to see Yubi with an all-too-familiar girl.
"It is! Dek--I mean Midoriya." He quickly corrected himself. Before giving a wave and leaving.
"Deku?" Itsuka and Ochako asked themselves.
"It must be a nickname, short for Dekiru."
"Oh, it's a nickname... I guess."
"Awesome, it sounds really cute!!"
Midoriya blushed as he scratched behind his head. Clearly uncomfortable by the nickname."Well, it's not exactly a nickname a classmate came up with it to make fun of me."
This brought a frown to the two girls.
"That's pretty uncool," Kendo said.
"Oh, I didn't realize that. I'm sorry. But you know what, I like Deku. It'd make a great hero name! Plus, I think it sounds kind of cute!" Ochako said with a wide smile.
Izuku's face went red after hearing himself being affiliated with the word 'cute'. Although he did like Uraraka.
Was he really going to accept the name Deku because of her?
She began to open her mouth to protest but was cut off by Izuku.
"No, thank you... I don't really feel comfortable with someone else calling me that name. I hope you don't mind that."
This brought a smile to Kendo. " Kinda thought you would accept it."
"It's okay. I don't mind at all, but I kind of want to give you a nickname. You know Deku kind of sounds like Dekiru, which means 'you can do it.'''' Do you mind if I call you that instead? I like the sound of it." The brown-haired girl requested as she raised an eyebrow.
"Dekiru?"
"A fitting nickname for the guy who seems to do anything."
"I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. "Midoriya said with a small blush. "But I like it. Y-Yeah, I like it! Dekiru, it is!"
This brought a smile to Uraraka."Speaking of cute things, how about we all go to the new animal petting zoo?"
"I'm down."
"Sounds like fun. But are you guys waiting for me? I kinda have to go to the bathroom."
The girls nodded.
After a few minutes of doing his business, He was about to walk out when he heard a man's voice.
"My pets our time of triumph will soon commence! The world shall now the true genius of Dr. Animo!"
"Is he talking to himself?" Midoriya thought to himself when the next words stopped him in his tracks!
"This mall will be the first to fall beneath my feet! Hahahaha!!"
Midoriya's eyes widened." The... mall? Is this guy some supervillain?! No! You're jumping to the conclusion that he could mean anything, right?"
"After I turn all the animals within the mall into my mutant pets, I'll get over to Yaoyorozu main nearby to steal the current power invented by the power source."
"Did he just really say his entire plan out loud? Who is this guy?!" Midoriya thought his eyes widened from the sheer unbelievability of the situation.
He peered through the stalls, standing on the toilet to have a good look at the man.
The man removed his trench coat and took out a small hamster. He shot with the energy from the weird hamlet. He widened in horror as the small hamster grew and grew, destroying the wall behind them and looking down at the man."Now then, why don't you take out our little spy?"
Midoriya widened as he jumped over the stall and began booking it as the hamster squealed as it began chasing the young boy running at full speed out of the stall he was chased by the giant hamster and everyone began to panic.
"AHH!! MONSTER!!"
"RUN!!"
Midoriya ran at full speed but the young man was still exhausted his body still had fatigued as he ran at full speed jumping off a ledge and grabbing onto an Endeavor flag, the hamster jumped off as it crashed down to the Earth with a loud THUMP! The hamster stopped moving as a crater was on the ground.
Midoriya panting and huffing. "I...I need to call All Might." His eyes were droopy, the bags under his eyes he barely could stay awake. As then, his phone slipped before crashing it down.
At the food court, the girls were chatting when."There's a monster attack!!"
Came the voice of panicked old women. "Monster?"
"Yeah, a hamster monster chasing some green-haired kid!"
Uraraka and Kendo both shot up. And walked to the women. "Did this green-haired kid have freckles?" Said Kendo before the women nodded.
"Damn it!"
As they were about to call him to make sure he was okay, a sudden rumbling caught everyone's attention as Dr. Animo, with hoards of mutated animals, stood in a showman pose atop of frog."Pets bring this mall to its knees!!"
The animals roared as pro heroes entered and began battling with numerous mutant monsters. Most of the bystanders began to scatter and run.
He leapt off the frog before walking up to his frog. And walked up to a mutated bird before lovingly petting the bird."Now my lovely bird will need a hostage to ensure victory."
He looked at a pink-skinned girl with horns as a malicious smile grew on him. The bird leapt before using its claws to scoop up the girl. Her friends tried to grab her, and a boy with black hair began chasing the bird.
Animo himself got back to his frog and began hopping away.
"Give her bad asshole!!"
As he shattered through the skyline, shattering the glass. The girl screamed. Midoriya, who was still holding onto the flag, was quickly alerted to the scream, seeing Animo fleeing with a captive. Midoriya sighed. "Guess it's hero time, Izuku."
He let go of the flag and began dialling the Omnitrix circling through his aliens before slamming it down in a burst of greenlight seen by Kendo and Uraraka, and other bystanders 'horrid smell invaded the nose. Kendo and Uraraka cover their nose.
"Is that...?"
"Only one alien can smell that bad!"
As a bug-like alien flew the skyline and began chasing the mutated bird. The girl herself was panicking.
"Someone help!! Wait, if I use my quirk, I can burn this stupid bird! But..."
Before looking down and seeing how high she was, if she used her quirk, the bird would certainly drop her, and she was pretty sure she wouldn't make it. Tears began to come from the corner of her from the winds and the terror of the situation. "Someone help me. I don't want to be bird food!"
And then...
Stinkfly rammed the bird in the side the bird was raddled, and the sudden made the girl panic, "AAAHH!!"
"Hold on! I'm going to save you!"
The girl nodded before the battle of the insect, and the bird ensued rampaging through the city, smashing through a Jeanist billboard advertising some jeans. The girl was absolutely terrified. Before shooting some goo into the bird's eye.
"C-Can I-I trust y-you?"
Stinkfly is confused before saying. "Yes!"
"Then catch me butterfly!!"
"It's Stinkfly!!"
As she let some acid onto the bird's leg, the bird widened from the sudden pain before letting the girl, Stinkfly flew straight downwards, grabbing the girl and placing on her back. The bird didn't appreciate that his prey was just taken and began to chase him. The girl was screaming in terror.
As he flew dodging the bird's attack but he's exhaustion would surely make him timeout sooner rather than later. He flew through the city as the bird crashed through an agency similar to the dojo. That had the sign "Gunhead Agency"
Stinkfly flew before noticing something. A boy with black hair was waving his arms."Hey, that's Kirishima!"
"Is he your friend?"
"Yeah? Whyyyy AAHAA!!"
Stinkfly flew towards the boy before dropping Ashido into her arms, who caught her.
"Get inside! I'll handle bird brain!"
The black-haired boy nodded while Mina looked on feeling something she hadn't had before.
Stinkfly flew towards the bird battling it out before a familiar beeping as he was engulfed before falling onto the bird's back, gripping onto the bird's feathers for dear life.
Ashido, who was looking on, was more than surprised to see the bug guy turn back to normal. Midoriya with resolve even though he was exhausted began to take control of the bird and began flying through the air by force, his hands were sore from gripping so hard as Midoriya flew past the two teenagers as Midoriya's emerald green eyes met with yellow eyes.
Mina's heart began to feel something she hadn't felt before as she looked at the boy who turned away and focused on the bird that was rampaging. "Think Midoriya that Animo guy said he was heading towards Yaoyorozu tower, and his trans... if I destroy his device, hopefully all the animals will go back to normal!"
As he steered the bird smacking onto a building before seeing the billions tower, the bird flew before crashing shattered glass as Midoriya smacked in the frog and tumbled off the bird Animo who was groaning from the pain.
Midoriya saw the Doctor's device lying on the ground. He quickly grabbed some fallen debris he ran towards the machine before smashing the device, and an energy pulsed through the air.
"NOOOO!!!" Dr. Animo screamed in horror. Before scowling the boy, he was clearly exhausted and panting.
"Y-You ruined my plans, you brat!! I will get my revenge!!" As the security guards came in before knocking out the crazy doctor.
A few minutes later
Tsukauchi was having a deadpan expression looking at the boy." Every time I see you, it just happens to be a disaster. What are you trouble magnet kid?
"At this point, I'm pretty sure that's my quirk now."
"I'll let All Might know to pick you up. But since you were attacked first, this can be chalked up to self-defence, and from what it seems, you transformed back, so you took down the villain quirkless, which... technically, it's not illegal. Though will have to say a different pro saved the day"
"I would have it no other way."
A well-dressed man walked up to them."You are certainly one interesting young man. I wasn't expecting a former employee on his mutated frog to bust in followed by a teenager on a mutated bird...That's the weirdest sentence I have said before."
"Sorry, sir. I'll pay for the damages."
"No need to young man. But I see something in you can't put my finger on it." He said while stroking his chin."Maybe he will be worthy of my daughter."...
The man proceeded to hand the boy a card. Midoriya took it before smiling. As the man walked away after a bow. Soon or later, All Might came by.
"All Might, I think I'm gonna stay home for the next three days. Today has been a lot. "
The man laughed.

Two months later
"Young Midoriya should complete his training in about a month or so... he should be able to inherit my..."
His eyes shot open. As he looked at the beach. Before hearing something.
"AAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!"
Izuku stood on top of the garbage pile, sweating and screaming at the sky. His determination was burning intensely. That's what Izuku really was, unstoppable.
"Oh my...oh my...GOODNESS!!" He shouted.
After Izuku finishes screaming, he starts to stagger and then falls forward. Before hitting the ground, All Might, in his muscular form, catches him.
"All Might...I did it...I cleaned everything. Do you think I'm ready now?" he says very tiredly, struggling to remain awake.
"TO SAY YOU ARE READY WOULD BE A MINIMUM, YOU HAVE EXCEEDED ALL MY EXPECTATIONS.
CONGRATULATIONS, MY BOY!!! YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF WHAT YOU DID TODAY!" All Might congratulated with a booming voice as he puts the boy on his feet.
Zulu staggers a little, but this time remains standing. He looked down at his own hand. Old thoughts of being unfit for the role started to drown his hopeful ones. They always haunted him, making him train harder to prove them wrong. What if this was a mistake? could he really be worthy of receiving this quirk? This legacy? Was he even worthy of the device stuck to his wrist? He always felt unworthy, but he kept it to himself. All Might may see him as a worthy successor, but he felt he wasn't worthy.
"All Might..." Izuku called, his voice downcast and barely more than a whisper.
"HUH? YES, MY BOY?" All Might asked curiously, a bit confused by Izuku's sudden change in vibe.
"Am I r-r-really w-worthy of this? I d-didn't do anything to d-deserve it, I just f-found myself in the right place at the right time. I think someone else should have it, a real hero..." Izuku says downcast as he rubs his right arm with the other hand.
The hero remained in silence for some moments, looking as Izuku avoided looking at him.
"WHAT ARE YOU SAYING? I AM GIVING IT TO A REAL HERO, WHO IS HERE IN FRONT OF ME UNLESS I HAVE VISIONS I BELIEVE I'M OFFERING THE QUIRK TO THE RIGHT PERSON, ARE YOU MIDORIYA IZUKU RIGHT?"
Midoriya chuckled a little, still feeling unworthy of the Omnitrix of One For All all this power. To some quirkless kid?
"AND NOT A REAL HERO? BOY WITHIN THE MONTHS YOU DISCOVERED THE OMNITRIX YOU MANAGED TO SAVE COUNTLESS LIVES! YES, IT WAS... ILLEGAL BUT YOU ARE A TRUE HERO!! AND YOU ON YOUR WAY TO BE THE GREATEST!!" All Might says, with so much passion in his voice.
"AGAIN AND AGAIN YOU PROVED TO ME HOW I MADE THE CORRECT DECISION! FIGHTING! SAVING LIVES NOT FOR PERSONAL GAIN BUT TO HELP SOMEONE ELSE!! NOW THATS A TRUE HERO!"
Tears began to prickle at the corner of his eyes as he felt a hand placed on his shoulder.
YOUNG MAN LOOK AROUND, YOU SAY YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING SPECIAL, I SEE ALL YOUR QUALITIES LIKE AN OPEN BOOK. THIS, MY BOY, IS ONLY THE FIRST STEP IN YOUR STORY, AND YOU HAVE ALREADY SURPRISED ME WITH YOUR PROGRESS, SO ENOUGH WITH THAT LONG FACE BECAUSE BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU THAT YOU DESERVE IT "All Might says without hesitation.
Midoriya was about to burst into tears like a baby.
"REMEMBER THIS, MY BOY. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LUCK OR REWARD, ONE IS RANDOM AND THE OTHER IS DESERVED.
