Caroline Forbes was walking to her car when she felt the kind of pain you could only feel because of a witch, or more specific a witch who was casting an aneurysm spell on a vampire. All she heard was someone apologizing as she lost her subconsciousness.
"You're awake," Caroline heard a woman saying after she opened her eyes.
"Who are you?" Caroline asked the woman, who she guessed was a witch.
"I'm Billie," she told the vampire.
"I wouldn't bother with those," the witch told her after seeing Caroline trying to break off the chains from her hands. "I spelled them and I'm a really good witch. I was taught by the greatest witches, after all."
Stefan Salvatore had no idea where his girlfriend was an no matter how much he hated the idea of calling Klaus Mikaelson, he didn't know what else to do. His brother was focusing all his energy against their mother, and he still wanted to help Valerie against Julian.
"Now is not a good time, Stefan," The hybrid answered to the phone.
"We need your help," Stefan told him.
"I don't have time to come there and save your brother from another werewolf bite," Klaus said impatiently because why else would the ripper call him. It's not like they really stayed in touch after he moved back to New Orleans.
"It's about Caroline," Was all Klaus needed to hear to want to help. "She was kidnapped, and we can't find her."
"What do you mean you can't find her?" Klaus asked angrily. Being apart from the baby vampire didn't mean that Klaus didn't care about her, and he thought that after the rumors about the doppelgänger being in a magical coma—Caroline would be Stefan's first priority. She would be his if she was with him in New Orleans, after his daughter of course. But he would but her above Hayley, the mother of his daughter or Cami, the girl who he might see himself falling for one day.
"I can't believe you called Klaus," Damon told his younger brother.
"What do you think I should've done then, Damon?" Stefan asked, annoyed. "Caroline is missing, and Bonnie can't locate her.
"Anyhting!" Damon yelled. "Did you even think about what happens when he finds out that Elena is human again?"
"We won't let anything happen to Elena," Stefan promised. He had of course thought about this himself, but he also needed to save Caroline. "But how do you think she will react when she wakes up and finds out that you did nothing to save her best friend?"
"Fine!" Damon said, having to admit that Stefan was right. "But I still think Lily has her and if anything happens to Elena, I will never forgive you, brother."
Stefan knew that but he also knew that deep down Damon cared about Caroline just as much as he did. Stefan never would have realized how much he cared about Caroline until his brother's speech at Caroline's mother's funeral.
"I would never forgive myself either. Do you think I wanted to call him?" Stefan wondered aloud. "We were finally free of him but he's also much better at finding people than we are."
"Are you sure of that? He didn't catch Katherine for five hundred years."
"I'm sure if he had tried harder, he would have," Stefan admitted.
Freya Mikaelson came home from having a drink and right away saw her brother walking towards her. She wondered who was in danger now to have Klaus looking so determined. She just really hoped that nothing happened to Hope. She loved her niece and would do anything to protect her.
"I need you to come with me to Mystic Falls," Klaus admitted.
"Why?" Freya asked, wondering if Hayley had once again decided that they were evil and taken Hope to their hometown.
"Someone important to me has gone to missing" Klaus said, looking straight to her eyes. Freya knew it couldn't be anyone she knew because otherwise he would've just said them by their name and her brother never called anyone important to him. He hated to show weakness.
"What happened, Niklaus?" Freya asked, worriedly.
"Just go pack your things. We leave as soon as possible," Klaus informed her before walking away from her.
Damon couldn't help but worry about Caroline. He wronged her badly when his emotions were off and could never apologize to her. He probably should even if it was only for Elena, but it was in the past and despite her dating his brother—he didn't see it going anywhere. Stefan didn't seem to put her above anything like he did when he was dating Elena. Even now, Stefan was putting his first love above Caroline.
"Hello, mother," Damon said after the woman who gave birth to both him and Stefan opened the door to his house. It was still his house, even if Lily Salvatore had managed to blackmail it to herself and her creepy heretics.
"May I help you?" Lily asked, not unkindly but Damon knew that the woman couldn't be trusted. She had abandoned her whole family and left them with their abusive father.
"I know you took blondie," he stated.
"I wish I could tell you that I had her but unfortunately, I don't. Enzo promised to bring her to me but according to him, he couldn't find her."
"You expect me to believe that?" Damon asked, not trusting a word that came out of her mouth.
"Why would I lie to you, Damon? You killed Malcolm."
"What are you doing here, Camille?" Klaus asked the woman that seemed to always be mad at him for one reason or another like everything was his fault. He was starting to get sick of it.
"I have a problem, and you weren't answering your phone, again," Camille told him, wondering why he was acting like she was bothering him.
"Maybe because I simply don't have time for whatever you wanted to talk about," Klaus simply stated. He didn't have time for whatever she needed help with.
"Klaus," Cami said, like just saying his name would make him help her.
"Talk to Marcel of this is about that murder again," Klaus said, getting sick of her attitude. "Elijah is busy finding Hayley, and I need to go to Mystic Falls."
"Klaus!" Cami yelled after him as he walked away from her.
"Why did you kidnap me?" Caroline finally asked the witch, Billie. "Does this have something to do with the heretics?"
"I don't know anything about the heretics," Billie admitted. "It's not like it was my choice to take you. I don't care about vampire business, but he took my sister."
"He?" Caroline asked looking down, wondering who this mysterious he was.
"It doesn't matter," Billie narrowed her eyes at Caroline. "He promised to free my sister as soon as I gave you to him."
