In a mess
Sev put on his boots and at a quarter past seven he went down to the Common Room, the Sly family headed to the Great Hall.
He did not bond with anyone, he took Hippolyta by her hand, let the others precede them and asked her, "Tell me how it was with your friends this afternoon."
"Booff... don't talk to me about that, we played very stupid games while sitting, I got really bored during that time and in the end I convinced them to fight, but I also got bored because we couldn't use the funniest spells, those that make you fall."
"So... why did you tell me before that you had a good time?"
"So you wouldn't worry about me, Prince, you were very sad."
Take that! She does what I do with her. "Do you see how you lie to me, Hippolyta? You don't say the things you know can hurt me."
"You do the same for me. Let's see if you think I haven't noticed that since I sat with you you no longer kiss Valerie in the Great Hall or the Common Room, nor do you hug or anything, like before."
Booahh…. She knows everything, so let her really know everything. "Well, then you should know that I don't give them to her when you don't see me either, except this afternoon when we went to London, when I gave her a few, but I'm not going to give her any more."
"You can do whatever you want, right?" said the girl. "Don't do it for me, I've already told you that I know how to take care of myself."
Extraordinary, she leaves me free. "If I don't do it, it's because I don't want to, Hippolyta, it's not just because of you."
"You're in a mess, Prince. So why did you give her this afternoon?"
Take that! She has caught me. "Spot on, Hippolyta, because I'm in a mess."
"Is that why you were so sad and you said that you didn't know how to take care of yourself?"
"Spot on, Hippolyta."
"Then do what I do, I don't do things until I think about them well and I'm convinced of what I have to do."
"How wise you are, Hippolyta."
"For some reason I told you the other day that I didn't know if I would want to be your girlfriend one day, because until recently I believed that I would never have a boyfriend, and those things are things that you have to think about very well, be very sure that you really love a person before doing with them the things that boyfriends do. Like Shelley and Ariel are doing, they have loved each other since their first year and still haven't kissed or anything."
"How wise you are, Hippolyta."
"Just know that this is why I don't give you kisses, not because I don't feel like it, I really want to."
He laughed. Wow… her sincerity kills me.
"Are you laughing at me because I want to kiss you?" she asked him.
He looked at her. "No honey, that's not why. It's because of how direct and sincere you are, I'm not used to it, you disarm me. You are far above me in that regard."
"Okay, I understand, although I don't think I'm that above you, you are also very sincere."
"Thank you, honey, I try to be as sincere as I can," Sev said.
"I continue explaining to you. It's not because I'm small and you're older, that's nonsense. My parents are three years apart and started dating when she was fourteen and he was seventeen."
"Oh…"
"That's why I know that there won't be any problem with you coming to my house or being my friend, I already told you that I was going to invite you since that night when I got so angry because you were laughing at me," Hippolyta continued.
"Sure…"
"I'm going to tell you the story of my parents so that you understand everything, my way of thinking and all that."
"Go ahead."
"My Mum is very pretty, I look a lot like her," the girl began. "When she entered Hogwarts my Dad was already in his fourth year and he fell in love with her, you see, a fourteen-year-old boy in love with an eleven-year-old girl."
"What a mess…"
"Of course, he wasn't going to do anything with her until she was older, but he became her friend, he helped her with her studies like you are doing with me."
"Sure."
"My Dad is not that handsome, you know him," she continued.
"True."
"The girls in his year didn't pay attention to him, that's why he didn't have girlfriends, but not only for that, it was because he was waiting for my Mum, to see if she would fall in love with him when she got older."
"Sure…"
"He waited for her three years, again on three," Hippolyta continued.
"Sure... "
"And on top of that, he was already in seventh grade and she was in fourth grade, they only shared one year of school as boy and girlfriend."
"Oh…"
"But they had been friends together for so long that it didn't matter, they saw each other on holidays and when there were outings to Hogsmeade, he came to town to visit her, Apparating," the girl explained.
"Sure…"
"And so three years passed, again on three."
"Sure. Can I ask you a question?" he said.
"You can."
"Is that why you were worried because we only had two years of school left to share and then you said that if I continued at Hogwarts as an apprentice we would have time to be boy and girlfriend?"
"Sure, Prince, three years, the lucky number."
Sev laughed, looked at her. "Hippolyta, I adore you. I don't think we'll be able to last three years. We are both already in love."
"I don't know yet, Prince."
"I do know, honey, because of what you have told me before that you feel, what you are not able to describe, and because you say that you really want to give me kisses."
"Oh…"
"It doesn't matter, when you're sure, make it coincide with a multiple of three months," Sev suggested. "Twelve months, fifteen months, eighteen, twenty-one... and we'll still be lucky."
"And since when do I count, Prince?"
He laughed. Merlin… I'll eat her… "Since when you think you should count."
"Since May 15th, when we met," the girl proposed.
"Very good choice. And know that if you never know for sure or stop feeling what you feel, I will continue to be your friend forever, as I already told you."
"Can I ask you a question, Prince?"
"Of course, Hippolyta, whatever you want."
"Do you also want to kiss me?"
"No, honey, not me yet. You still seem very small to me and I'm in no hurry, like your Dad when he was waiting for your Mum. And not only that, I want to follow your advice and think about it very carefully so as not to screw it up, not to be boy and girlfriend before its time and then have my feelings change like what happened to me with Valerie. I don't want to be in a mess in that regard again."
"Sure."
The first few minutes of dinner, before the Great Hall filled up, were spent explaining to Valerie, without going into too much detail, how he felt about the afternoon's experiences, so that she would understand that he was going to be distant with her again.
"You can only give yourself if you love deeply, Prince, it's the same thing that happens to Andrew with me," she opined.
"True."
"You don't need to give me more explanations, I'm going to miss you but I understand your decision, it's better to refrain from doing it if you're not sure you want to do it. Do you want me to get Genevre off your back tonight?"
"No, Valerie, I will bond with her when they get to dinner and I will explain it to her too. I would feel like a coward not showing my face after what she did this afternoon with Lorenz, how brave she was."
"Of course, you do very well."
Shortly after, Lily arrived, and he bonded with her to inform her that he was going to pass her the notes on Red Magic. "I will leave them with Genevre to keep them for you until you go home," he told her.
"Oh, Sev… I was just going to ask you for them."
"Tomorrow is a new moon."
"Yes, I know, that is precisely why I was going to ask you for them."
"I am very happy for you both, Lily."
"Sirius told you things this morning, right?"
"Yes, but I have not asked his permission to tell you nor has he given it to me, boy secrets. I'm not going to get involved, you should be the ones who build your own relationship, in your own way."
"Okay, Sev."
"A question, Lily. Do you know if James is coming to the party?"
"Sirius has proposed it to him but he hasn't responded yet, he is thinking about it."
"I already know why he needs to think about it so much, tonight I will explain it to you. I leave you, Lily, see you at the party, I have matters to resolve."
"Sure, Sev."
He unbonded. I have already noticed her more distant than the last week and the feeling of the Bond. I screwed it up with my bump a week ago, she's taken a life with Sirius and I'm losing her.
Maybe I shouldn't wait to talk to her on holidays, but do it tonight or Monday at the beach party. Remus was right, we have spent too much time not being close and we have grown apart, first me and now her. I hope I haven't screwed it up completely, I can't imagine my life without her.
He bonded with Genevre and explained the same thing to her as he did to Valerie.
"Ugh… Prince… what a disappointment…" she said.
"I am very sorry, Genevre."
"It might not be that you are playing difficult again."
"Not at all, you can already see that I am speaking to you very seriously. Just as today has been revealing for you, it has also been revealing for me, but in the opposite sense, it has made me feel terrible."
"I'm very sorry, I too have been hasty," she admitted. "What I was telling you, I got carried away too much by my impulses and I dragged you along."
"Don't blame yourself, Genevre, I also participated in the game and at the time I enjoyed it a lot, but when I had time to reflect on it I realized that I had done things wrong."
"Forgiven, Prince, just as you have forgiven me, instantly, a much more serious and long-lasting mistake."
"Thank you, Genevre."
"Thank you for being so honest, you don't look like a snake."
"We snakes are changing a lot in that aspect."
"Yeah, I know," she agreed. "Can I talk to Valerie about it so she can comfort me?"
"Of course, I have already talked about it with her as well."
"See you at the party, Prince."
Well... I'm done with the unpleasantness... I'm going to pay attention to Ariel a little, and then the last tricky matter, Hippolyta and Potter, but I'll wait until she's almost finishing dinner, in case she gets upset and stops eating.
He asked his little boy what they had done that afternoon and he told him in detail what games they had played. Well, it's true that they are a bummer. As I said, Hippolyta and I are just one to another.
The girl had already eaten the entire first dish and was halfway through the second.
"Are you liking it, honey?" he asked her.
"I liked the first one better, Prince. "
"If you can't fit everything, don't fill yourself up too much, huh? Today you had a very good lunch and a snack, and at the party there will also be food if you are hungry."
"I'll eat a little more and I'll leave it, okay?"
"Eat, eat, when you finish, let me know," he asked her. Sev also continued eating calmly.
Shortly after, Hippolyta said to him, "Prince, that's it."
"Will you want some dessert?"
"No, Prince, you already know that I haven't had one in days."
"Very well, then let's chat. I want to talk to you about a delicate matter and I would like you to remain calm, just as you did this afternoon when we talked about the old man. Do you promise me you're going to do it?"
"Of course, Prince, otherwise dinner will be bad for me."
"That's it, here I go. I have made a serious mistake."
"Get to the point, Prince."
He laughed. We are one for another. "I have invited someone to the party that you really dislike."
"I know who."
"Well, you say it," he asked.
"The Potter package."
They laughed.
"That one."
"It was easy to guess, if you invited Black you were not going to stop inviting his best friend, and I heard at home that they have been going to Army training," she said.
"That is, honey, also because I invited them. I became friends with them, I forgave them."
"You did well, you see how great it turned out, the Chair and Black as a spy."
Wow… how well she understands me, indeed we are just one to another. "So, it won't make you feel bad if you see him at the party?" Sev asked.
"Not at all, if he dares to speak to me, you'll see how rude I am to him."
"That is my girl!"
"I even think that we are going to look for him to laugh at him, rub the Cup in his face," she proposed.
"That's my girl!"
"And if he gets cocky, we'll kick him out, the whole House will be against him."
"That is my girl!" he exclaimed again.
"Three times, good luck."
"I adore you, Hippolyta." He hugged her and gave her a lot of kisses.
