Season 4 episode 1 - a new beginning
"Heidi, we have to tell them." Jordan said to Heidi as they were driving around the from the station.
"It's still early days Jordan, and I don't want to be put on light duty." Heidi said as they parked up outside the station.
"I know that babe, it's also really dangerous what we do and even more now". Jordan said, looking at Heidi full of worry.
"Jordan, please can we talk about it later" Heidi said getting out of the car and walking into the station.
"Heidi… Heidi we can't wait keep pulling it off any longer to tell them, someone will notice soon enough. And I'm so worried when we are out on a rescue of something going wrong or you getting hurt.". Heidi turned to look at Jordan and saw the worried look in his eyes and knew that he was right, I was getting too dangerous for her.
"The end of shift and then we tell Vince and Michelle but can we wait until the end of the week to tell the others please." She said as they walked up the stairs of HQ.
"Heidi.. can't we tell them no…." He looking at her.
"Please Jordan, I know your worried about me and the baby but we will be fine I promise. So please wait until after shift." she said looking at him with puppy eyes that she knew he can't resist. And she stop on the stairs and turn to face him and put her hand on her bump that was starting to show.
"Okay fine but straight after shift" he said giving in to her puppy eyes. And put his hand on top of hers that was on her stomach.
"Wait until after shift for what" Chase said walking up the stairs right behind them and Jordan and Heidi looked at Chase to each other. Jordan saw the look on her face with a worry look at him.
"We have a date tonight but can't decide what time to go and where" Jordan said with a bit of sadness in his voice.
"Oh okay… what going on in there" chase said looking in to Michelle office. When Michelle and Vince and man from headquarters and Johnson and a blonde woman that they could see but she wasn't facing there so she could see their face.
"Johnson said that he's going to need our helping with something and then he just walked into Michelle office and know you know what we know" said Dean looking up from his desk as the others moved to their desk.
"And who's the Blonde than" asked Chese
"She back" said Lachie
"Who's back" said Heidi
"Lara" Dean said not looking up at the others.
"What?" Heidi, Jordan and Chese said at the same time.
" Yeah she said would be back after a few months and she is" Said Dean.
"That she did but I really want to know what that Johnson guy wants our help with" said Lachie looking at Michelle office. When Michelle, Vince, Johnson, the man from headquarters and Lara.
"Until next time, Michelle" the man from hand quarter said the left the station.
"LARA, you're back" Heidi said as she was running to hug her.
" Yeah well I said I would be back" Lara said after Heidi let her go and looking at Dean the whole time. And then Chese and Jordan hug her as well wish a well back.
"Okay, well know that is out of the way we, well Johnson has something he wants to tell you all about something he wants our help with. So listen" Vince said looking at everyone.
"Thanks Vince, so we have been working on a drug case for the last couple of weeks. And we had a tip that the drugs are going to be used at legally party on the cliff top" said Johnson
"What the different between this drug and other ones" said Lachie. Vince walked off to ask the his phone after he heard it ring.
"The differences is that this drug has been mixed with toxic chemicals and has killed about 50 people so far. So when we know when this party is, we will let you know," he said.
Vince walked back to the group and saw that Heidi and Jordan hands on her stomach, with a grin on his face as he walked back putting his phone in his pocket.
"All right that's go, we got multiple MVA accident outside a school. There's are two trucks, three cars and a hand full of parents and students involved. Police, ambo's and the fires are all on the scene, what are you doing here go and save some lives and keep save. Go now" he said as he watched the look on all of them's faces as they run down the stairs to the patrol cars and tucks.
At the scene:
When they arrived at the scene they could see two cars crashed into each other, one truck drove in a light pole and one car on it side and the other truck in a brush. And about 3 adults and 6 children on the road bleeding. And they were crying and asking for help.
" Chese, Lachie take the people on the road, Heidi and Jordan take the people in the cars, Lara your with me with the men in the trucks. Let's go" said Dean as they all got out the patrols. They are run to the places that they were meant to be at.
"Hi my name is Chese and I'm from rescue and you tell me your name" said looking at a woman and two small children.
"Ella and this is Josh and Josie, please tell me they are okay" said the woman looking at the children as Chese checked them over all.
"Can you tell me what happened" he asked now looking the women after he finished looking over the kids.
"We were crossing the road and out of no where is truck come driving down is a mad man, so we run to the other side of the road and that hurts" Ella said as Chese touched her foot.
"Sorry, but I just think you have bruised your ankle that's all and the kids just have a few cuts and bruises, no broken bones" he said as a paramedic come over and he left them in the hands for paramedics.
"Recuse base 1 to recuse portable 1, Deano what's are the stats. Over" Vince said over the radio.
"Recuse portable 1 to recuse base 1, yeah Vince we have two code 4's, three reds, five yellow and the rest with cuts and bruises, over" Dean said stepping walking back to the patrol truck.
"Okay, deano keep me updated and I'll the hospital know, over" Vince said looking at Michelle with a sad look.
"Dean, Lachie I need help over here. Now" shouted Lara from one of the cars that has smashed into each other. Deano and Lachie run over as Chese run over to help Heidi and Jordan to the car that is on its side.
"I need a spinal board over here, I think he has a brain injury and he's is bleeding into the spleen." Lara said as Dean and Lachie came over.
"This is Tom and 55 years old he was on is home after taking his granddaughter to school and that Sophia she is 25 and was on the way to work when the crashed happened? She has a head injury and her legs are stuck in there". She said looking at Dean, whilst he was looking over Sophie.
"Okay we are going to get you out for here" said Dean getting ready to move Sophie whilst Lara and Lachie got Tom on a stretcher and moved him to the ambo's.
"Lachie I need this door off now." Dean said to Lachie.
"Coming mate" replied Lachie walking to Dean with cuts.
"Rescue portable 4 to rescue portable 1" Jordan said on the radio.
"Rescue portable 1 to rescue portable 4, what is it Jordan" reply dean.
"All the patients have been taken to hospital it now just your patient, over" Jordan
"Have you guys seen Heidi" Lara said to Jordan and Lachie.
"No why, Dean have you seen Heidi?" Jordan said with a bit of sacredness in his voice.
"No not since early, why" he said looking around for her.
" mhmm guys, I feel bad for the fire's" Chase said walking to the group.
"And why's that, Chase" said Lachie whiles Jordan was getting more and more worried.
"Because Heidi is giving them a new one" he said and turned to look at Heidi.
"What.." they all said and walked to where Chase was and looking at Heidi speechless.
"What hell did you just say about me, come on" She said looking at a the fires.
"I said that I would love to play with your tits in bed" the fires said looking really embarrassed by it.
"Do you think funny commented on a woman breast?…i mean the time you have ever played with a woman tits were your mother ones" Heidi said walking away from them as the others laugh at him.
"I won't to piss Heidi off anytime soon" said Chase while Heidi walked back to the other's with a pissed off look on her face.
"Some people are just so dumb sometimes" Heidi as she finally got to the others. Everyone looked at her with a their mouths wide open and Jordan had the biggest grin that a person could have.
"Come on that's go back to HQ" said Dean getting into the patrols. And everyone else followed him.
Back at HQ:
They parked the trucks and walked into the station and meet Vince. Have a look that he was pissed off.
"Heidi-oi, please tell me why the fires are calling me and asking for you to apologise to firefighter Line" Vince said looking at Heidi with a pissed off look.
"I'm not apologies to the idiot." Heidi said walking up the stairs to her desk.
"Well tell me what happened then and what did you say to him, so I can apologise for you at least" Vince said following her as well the others.
"I don't need you to apologise for me because I'm not sorry and if didn't like what I said than he can fuck off" She said sitting down on her desk.
"Heidi…." Vince said
"He shouldn't have made a comment about playing with my breast and I won't have said that the only ones he will ever play with a part is his mothers ones, and I don't care I will never apologise for it" She said looking for pissed off. The others looked her with a smile.
"Heidi, to be far too guy. They are looking.. mhm.. huge" Chese said looking directly at her tits. As the others turn to him.
"Dude, really" Jordan said slapping the back of Chese head.
"All I'm saying is that Jor, is one lucky guy to play with th.." Chese said but stop when he saw the look on Heidi face and caused everyone to slap him.
"All right, write up your reports no" Vince said watched as Jordan and Heidi share a look at each other and looked at Heidi stomach where her hand rested on.
"So Lara what have you been up to the last few months then" said Lachie changing the subject. And turning in his chair.
"Mhm I want away for a few weeks to Spain and eat amazing food and I did my house up. At all, I can see not much has changed here." Lara said not looking up from desk.
"So you want to Spain by yourself or with someone" Chase asked looking at Lachie with a small grin.
"No she went away with high school friends" Heidi said jumping into the conversation.
"And how do you know that, than" said Lachie
"Facebook, that's how she knows" said Jordan, while moving over to Heidi giving her a cup of tea.
"So pub after work than like the old times" said Dean changing the topic.
"Yeah…" everyone said looking at Dean except from Jordan and Heidi.
"Come on Jordan and Heidi, you guys having come out in a while just because you can't have a quickie in work" said Lachie looking at them with a smile. Jordan looked at Heidi and was about to reply when Heidi cut him off
"Yeah, we been here" said Heidi getting back her work.
Time jump to 1 hour later:
"Dean" Lara said walking up to him by the coffee stand.
"Yes Lara" he said turning to look at her
"So are we going to talk about what happened before I left or not" Lara said
"I don't know what you're talking about Lara" he said taken a spin of his coffee.
"Really, so the whole I love you thing" Lara said in a whisper.
"Lara, I'm joking of course I remem…" he said but was cut off by Michelle voice calling them.
"Okay, well get going to the cliff top now the party has started and to say that when the police got there things wanted to tit, so get down there now and be safe" Michelle said coming out of her office.
"Heidi your on the chopper and the rest of you getting going, now" Vince said
"Be safe, I love you" said Jordan to Heidi
"I will and be safe too yeah. And I love you too" Heidi said to Jordan and kissed him as well.
"And guys, keep an eye out for any drugs and things like that please." Michelle said and she watched them walk away.
On the way to the cliff top:
"You know it's nice to have you back Lara" Lachie said to Lara
"Thanks Lachie, I had a lot to think about but it's nice being back" she said smiling at him.
"Fair enough, but is it just me or is Jordan being really protective over Heidi" said Lachie
"Yeah but I won't worry much about it he probably still sacred about the whole gas incident. I mean it gotten be hard knowing that you love someone and something bad happens you want to be share that they are save no matter what."Said Lara looking at the GPS.
"Yeah your right people in love" said Lachie
"Yeah people in love, I know but I feel like they are keeping something from us, tho" Lara said as they were ariving at the scene.
"And if they keeping something I'm sure they will tells in their own time." Lachie say as he parks the car. And getting out.
"Hola 24 to Rescue portable 1" Heidi said over the radio to dean.
"Rescue portable 1 to hola 24, go head Heidi" Dean said to Heidi
"Yeah we have about 12 people at the bottom on rocks, we have about 8 people in the water and 1 person in between rocks, over" Heidi said
"Okay thanks Heidi, I need you in the water Heidi, over" Dean said looking at the other and he could see the look on Lara face.
"Okay Chese and Lara see to the people around here, Lachie, Jordan with me let go people and keep an eye out for any drugs." Dean said and everyone started to move.
"Chase can you help me over here please." Said Lara
"Sure thing coming, you'll be okay I just need to you walk over there and a paramedic will catch you out and take you to hospital" Chese replied after sending a patient off to the paramedics. And run over by Lara
"Hi mate, she'll be fine. She done this so many times back." Lachie said to Jordan as he watched Heidi jump into the sea.
"I know that, but that doesn't mean I can worry about them doing it tho" Jordan rely as he was putting a harness on. Not knowing that Lachie pick on him saying them and not her.
"Rescue portable 1 to rescues portable 4, Heidi who is it looking down there" said Dean over the radio.
"Rescue portable 4 to rescue portable 1, yeah all the patients that were in the sea are out. And making their way out now" Heidi radioed as she got on to the rocks.
"Alright Heidi, see if you can help the people on the rocks. We are coming down now." Dean Radioed as he, Lachie and Jordan were going down the cliff.
"Hi my name is Heidi and I'm from Rescue can you tell me your name" Heidi asked a young girl, who was on the rocks.
"Katie, my name is Katie" she said looking at Heidi
"Okay Katie can you tell me when it hurts" Heidi reply to her checking her over for any injuries.
"Arm, my arm" she said to Heidi as Heidi looked over her arm.
"Okay Katie, you have just bruised it okay, are you sure you're not in pain anywhere else" Heidi said to Katie. As she was getting up.
"I said no didn't I" Katie said as she pushed Heidi back away from her. Heidi slip and fall back hitting her head on a rock, making her go unconscious.
30 minutes later jump:
"Okay Lara, least patient coming up to you now." Dean shouted to Lara. As she and Chese pulled the patient up the side of the cliff.
"One, two, three up. One, two, three up. One, two, three up." Lara said as she and Chese pulled on the rope as the patient came to the top of the cliff.
"Hey Lara, have anyone heard off of Heidi since early" Chese asked as they were putting the patient on the ground. And Lara looked around and couldn't see her anywhere.
"Recuse portable 2 to Recuse portable 1, is Heidi down there with because why can't her up here at all." Lara radio to Dean.
"Rescue portable 1 to rescue portable 4, Heidi do you copy" Dean said over the radio whilst looking at Jordan. When he didn't get a response from Heidi.
"Rescue portable 1 to Rescue base" Dean radioed to HQ
"Rescue base to rescue portable 1, what is the problem Deano" Vince reply to dean whilst Michelle was next to him
"We are missing Heidi?" Dean reply,
"What do you mean you're missing Heidi?" Michelle reply.
"We haven't heard from he in 30 minutes ago" Dean said
"Okay Dean, start looking. We are on our way" Michelle responded as her and Vince make their way to the car.
"Okay, everyone start looking" Dean said to everyone. And they all went in different directions. Shout Heidi's name.
"Heidi…Heidi…Heidi.." Lachie shouted
"Heidi..Come on please call out" Jordan said looking around and their saw something in the corner of his eye. And started walking over when he saw Heidi and an other person.
"Heidi, I found her" he shouted to the others as he ran to her. And the boys followed him, to Heidi.
"Jordan, Jordan how is she" Dean said as he to him and Heidi.
"She's breathing but has a cut on her head." Jordan reply trying to wake her up.
"I didn't mean to hurt her, she was checking me over but i didn't want her to take to the paramedics because my uncle will kill me if he finds out I was high. So I pushed her and she slip and hit her head. I was trying to wake her up without getting help." The girl said as Jordan was looking at Heidi. Checking Heidi over.
"What your name" Lachie said looking at the girl.
"Katie, Katie Johnson" she said and when she said that the boys all looked at each other.
"Katie by any chance, your uncle Ian Johnson, the detective Johnson" Dean said looking at her from looking at Heidi.
"Yes, he is. I'm so sorry I didn't mean to hurt her. I promise is she okay" Katie said crying
"Jordan, baby" Heidi said as she started to come around. Opening her eyes looking at him.
"Yeah, I'm here. It's okay we going to check you over are in any pain" Jordan said looking into Heidi's eyes. Trying to keep her calm as well as himself.
"No, my head hurts but apart from that I'm okay. But what about the" she said but stop when she saw Dean and Lachie.
"We will get you to the hospital okay babe" Jordan said to Heidi while he was brushing his hand on head.
"I can walk up to the top and there was a girl, where is she" Heidi said sitting up with Jordan help.
"I'm so sorry I didn't mean to hurt you. I promise" Katie said looking at Heidi.
"Rescue portable 1 to rescue portable 2" Dean radioed to Lara.
"Rescue portable 2 to rescue portable 1, go ahead" Lara said as she saw Vince and Michelle pulled up.
"We got her, she's fine but does need a hospital and we have a special person coming up with us as well by the name of Katie Johnson." Dean said as he and the others started to walk up the path to the top.
"They got her, they're bringing her up with some girl called Katie Johnson" Lara said to the rest of them.
"Katie Johnson, as in detective Johnson or is there any relation there or is it just me" Chese said looking at everyone.
"Katie Johnson is Ian Johnson brother's daughter" Michelle said to everyone.
"She push Heidi went she released she needed to hospital and Heidi slipped and hit her head" Lara said to everyone.
"And why the hell would she do that" Vince said really pissed off
"Because she was high" Michelle said to Vince. As Dean, Lachie, Katie, Jordan and Heidi made it to the cliff top.
"And why would she do that when her uncle works for the police, Heidi-oi are you okay" Vince said changing the topic as he saw Heidi walking with help of Jordan towards them.
"I'm fine Vince but I am going to go to the hospital to get check over" Heidi said she Jordan opened the patrol door so she could sit down on the sit.
"Heidi don't do that again yeah. Are you sure you don't feel any pain at all." Chese said as Jordan and Lara check her over.
"I don't feel any pain but from my head and that's why I'm going to the hospital, Chese" Heidi said to the Chese with a laugh. But her laugh was cut short when she heard a car pulled up. And Johnson getting out.
"Katie, what the hell have you done. Have you been taken any drugs."Johnson shouts at Katie
"I didn't mean to hurt her I promise but I only push her because I didn't want go to hospital" Katie said looking from Michelle to Ian.
"What the hell are you talking about" Ian said but stop when he saw Heidi. And turned back to Katie.
"You are stupid girl, you know that right" he shouts at her.
"Ian clam down" Michelle said trying to clam h them both.
"She didn't mean to hurt me, she was just sacred that's all" Heidi said to Michelle and Johnson.
"Are you sure she didn't hurt you" Johnson to Heidi
"No" she said straight away
"Katie get in the car, our dad is going to be very angry with you, NOW" he said looking at Katie with very serious look on his face. Katie followed and got into the car and the others watched the car drove away.
"Michelle, she really didn't mean to hurt me, I just slip after she pushed me and it was a really small push, I'm fine." Heidi said to Michelle looking really concerned about Katie and most. She moved over to Heidi.
"I know that Heidi, I know" Michelle said giving Heidi's a small smile.
"Come on, let's get you to hospital" Jordan said to looking at Heidi holding his hand out to her which she happily took it.
Back at HQ:
"Dean" Lara said as she found Dean in the gym.
"Lara" Dean replied
"Can we talk about, you know what" she said as she sat down on the bench looking at Dean
"Yeah sure" Dean said as he put the weights down and moved over to where Lara was sitting and sit down next to her.
"So, what you said before I left" Lara started with looking at her hands and not Dean.
"Yes Lara, I meant every word that I said" Dean said making Lara look straight at him.
"I mhm, don't know what to say" Lara said to Dean. Making Dean think that he said the wrong thing.
"Look Lara, I meant what I said but if you don't feel the same way then that's fine, we can just stay at frie.." Dean said with is voice sounding a bit sad but Lara cuts him off before he was about to finish.
"No Dean, I do feel the same but I don't want to rush into things" Lara said looking Dean.
"So how about this we will go out, just me and you and we will see where it goes from there. Yeah" Dean said with a small smile on his face.
"Yeah I like the sound of that and what ever happens, we will always be friends, yeah" Lara said
"Yeah, we will always be friends first" Dean says as he looked at Lara with a smile. And it was silent after that.
"Come on, you got to reports to write" Dean said with Laugh that made Lara laugh as well.
"Uh no" Lara said as she and Dean got up and started to walk up the stairs as Dean wanted to get change.
"So, how's Katie now than" Vince said going into Michelle office
"She's okay, she knows she messed up and her parents are making her go to rehab and a sincere apology to Heidi but she's been okay that's if she sticks to the rehab" Michelle said looking at Vince from putting her phone done.
"She sounded like she regretted it earlier but what do you expect teenagers, also trying to fit in and if they not trying to fit in their asking you for money or something new. Just wait and see James will do it to you before you know it" Vince said taking a sit in one on the chairs looking at her.
"Yeah well, my little James won't do not of that but Katie is more worried if Heidi will pass assault charge because that Ian said she could do. So have you heard from Jordan or Heidi about what the hospital has said" Michelle said looking at Vince before taking a sip from her cup.
"The last I heard she was getting checked out my the staff but they have to come back to get their things, so one of us can ask them when they get back. And she could pass charges against her but know her she probably won't tho" Vince said to Michelle. As there was a knock on the door.
"Come in" Michelle said as Jordan and Heidi walked into the office and closing the door.
"Jordan and Heidi-oi, what did the hospital say" Vince said looking at them both with a grin.
"All clear" Heidi said and turned from them to look at Jordan. And when she saw the look on his face she knew it was time to tell them.
"That's good isn't it" Michelle said as saw the look on Jordan face.
"Yes Michelle, we are both completely healthy" Heidi said with a smile on her and Jordan's face. Looking Michelle with a shock face and Vince was smiling.
"Both, are you pregnant Heidi" Michelle looking from Heidi and Jordan to Vince still shocked.
"Yeah, we are having a baby" Jordan said with the happiness grin you will have.
"Well congratulations" Both Vince and Michelle said getting up to hug both Heidi and Jordan.
"No, it's shout mate" Lachie said to Chese from his desk.
"I got the last shout and plus if we go out as team then it's Dean's shout" He said sitting in his chair.
"It's my shout for what" Dean said as he walked up the stairs and Lara coming out of the bathroom.
"The pub" Lachie said looking at him with a smile.
"What's going on in there then" Lara said looking into Michelle office as Vince pulled back from giving Jordan a hug.
"I don't know but it's even good or bad news" said Chese looking at Michelle office as they come out of the office.
"The pub, it's my shout" Vince said really happy.
"Yes, let go" Chese and Lachie said getting up from their chairs and getting their jackets.
"Before we go me and Jordan have something to say" Heidi said looking at Jordan with a smile. And taken a his hand.
"What, one of you aren't dying are you" Dean said as a joke looking at them.
"What of course not" Jordan said looking at others.
"I'm pregnant" Heidi said looking at everyone with a big smile on her face.
"What" the others said with shocked expression on their face.
"We are having a baby" Jordan said with the biggest smile ever still holding Heidi's hand.
"Oh my god" Lara said as she hug Heidi and Jordan and was followed by the others.
"So how far long are you, then" Chese said after hugging Heidi and Jordan.
"Oh my god, I forgot to ask you that" said Michelle shocked.
"Mhm..please don't be mad but in my defence, my doctor said I was fine until I was five months pregnant and then go on desk duty." Heidi said looking around at everyone.
"Heidi, how far are you" Vince said with a straight face looking at Heidi.
"Four months tomorrow" Heidi said as moved around, so she was behind Jordan.
"WHAT" everyone said looking at her with a shocked face.
"The doctor did say she was fine until five months and she has been fainting in every appointment so far" Jordan said trying to help the situation.
"Okay, that's good then but you will still be on light duty's" Michelle said looking at Heidi.
"What, that's not fair" Heidi said looking at Michelle, coming out from behind Jordan.
"Light duty's in the field, Heidi until your five months than desk duty no buts but if anything happens for before that that me, Vince, Dean or Jordan think that is dangerous your light duty's full stop" Michelle said to Heidi.
"Okay deal" Heidi said to Michelle with a little bit of a sadness in her voice.
"So let me get this straight, you're pregnant and is that why none of you have been going out to the pub with us." Chese said as Jordan and Heidi shook their heads in unison at him.
"Anyway, pub" Jordan said looking at everyone as their all shook their heads as a yes.
"Let's go then, it's my shout" Vince said to everyone as they began to walk down the stairs to the pub.
