In Kyoshiro's shed, the cyborg was with Yukina discussing everything and anything. Kyoshiro had opened up a little more to the young mechanic before his phone rang which surprised the cyborg.
"What's that?" Kyoshiro asked, "I didn't put a phone in here."
"That's mine, sorry." Yukina took out her phone which confused Kyoshiro even more.
"What is this thing?" Kyoshiro asked confused.
"It's my phone." Yukina replied innocently.
"A phone is hanging on a wall or in a booth on the street not in a pocket." Said Kyoshiro.
"Have you been living in a cave or something?" Questioned Yukina.
"I spent most of the time as a prisoner so yes." Kyoshiro replied.
"Wait a second so you don't know anything about the technology of the last decades?" Yukina asked curiously.
"I've been through hell because of Dan, I haven't had time to learn about it." Said Kyoshiro.
"But you created this." Yukina took Kyoshiro's prosthetics in hand. "How can you be so late and still have created such things?"
"So I didn't create it by myself, when I finally got away, I found one of my former assistants who didn't agree with what Dan did and he helped me create them. It's thanks to his knowledge that we were able to create this ... well it took us a long time to get this final and compact design but we succeeded." Said Kyoshiro.
Yukina had a sinister smile which confused the cyborg even more. "Do you know what a computer is?
"Of course, it's the huge machine that can be found in factories and power plants, it allows to control algorithms and machines. Said Kyoshiro.
"I think I'm going to remake your life." Says Yukina.
In Kourin's office, the resistance leader was doing paperwork, when suddenly Yukina arrived pushing Kyoshiro who was absorbed by the laptop screen.
"I think I broke it." Said Yukina.
"So hello and I need more context there?" Asked Kourin.
"I think I broke your doc." Answered Yukina.
"Again context." Said Kourin.
"I showed him what a computer is and he hasn't said anything since. Said Yukina.
"He's an old man, what did you expect?" questioned Kourin.
"I don't know, maybe a divine revelation." Yukina replied.
"Wow! This thing plays video and records too! It's a camera and a film reel at the same time!" Said Kyoshiro as he came out of his trance. "When did we get here?"
"What's a reel?" Asked Yukina confused.
"I think it's what we used before VHS." Said Kurin.
"What's a VHS?" Asked Yukina and Kyoshiro.
Kourin looked at Kyoshiro exasperated. "I can understand her not knowing, but you have no excuse."
"I hate young people." Kyoshiro saw on Kourin's desk a fossil encased in a glass cube. The fossil had an ancient rune marked on it, he took the cube in his hand and looked at it. "This looks familiar."
"Does it?" Yukina asked.
"Yeah, I've seen it somewhere before." Kyoshiro tried to remember where he had seen this rune. He remembered his fight with Dan and remembered seeing that Dan had a scar with the same shape on his left arm. "Dan had the same mark on his arm." These words saddened Yukina and Kourin.
"This is the mark of Kuuga." Kourin explained. "This piece was part of the temple where he came from."
"What is a Kuuga?" Kyoshiro asked confused.
"He was one of the Kamen Rider who rebelled against Phoenix, he was part of the second generation and was among the most powerful." Said Kourin.
"Second generation?" Kyoshiro asked, "There were other Kamen Rider besides me and the four bastards?"
Yukina and Kourin were completely surprised by Kyoshiro's question. "Have you been living in a cave for the last decade or so?" Kourin asked.
"Yes, and why is that the first question that comes to your mind? Kyoshiro retorted.
"I can understand that you don't know anything about technology, but a war between Kamen Rider that lasted several decades is a bit hard to believe." Kourin replied.
"What are you, a senile old man?" Yukina giggl.
"I'm an old man, not a senile old man." Said Kyoshiro. "But tell me more about this war, I am intrigued."
"It's very simple it started in 1973 when the first two Kamen Rider defeated a secret organization called Gel Shocker." Kourin explained. "That's when Phoenix discovered the remains of Shocker."
"Wait a second, isn't Shocker, Gel Shocker?" Kyoshiro asked.
"Yeah, Gel Shocker was the remains of Shocker which was the original organization." Said Yukina.
"As I was saying, Phoenix had found the remains of Shocker as well as their data regarding Cyborg but more importantly how to create their own Kamen Rider. That's when Dan had the idea to create a private army of Cyborg, to make some of their generals superior Cyborg and his lieutenants and him Kamen Riders. " Said Kourin.
"I remember that, I was the first one he used to see if the Shocker experiments really worked." Kyoshiro looked at his mechanical limbs with a look of anger.
"Well, it was after three years of preparation that they began their world conquest. They revealed their intention during a meeting at the United Nations where they shot down every representative, at the same time they conquered the most ground. In less than a year, they succeeded in subjugating the world." Kourin explained.
"Obviously, Dan is a genius strategist, he managed to predict every action of our competitors when we were working together." Says Kyoshiro.
"Dan managed to do what Shocker wanted to do in a third of the time, but of course Kamen Rider Ichigou and Niigou didn't like it. Said Kourin.
"Wait a second! The first two Kamen Rider are called Ichigou and Niigou? But who dares to be called themselves 'First' and 'Second', that's so stupid." Kyoshiro sneered.
"This is not the time to talk about names!" Said Yukina.
"Anyway, Niigou and Ichigou did everything to stop Phoenix. They were joined by other Cyborgs who became Kamen Rider themselves. V3, Riderman, Kamen Rider X, Amazon, Stronger, Skyrider, Super-1, ZX, Shin, ZO, J, Black & Black RX. All of them rebelled against Phoenix to try to beat them, but they all died during the great battle of '90 where Dan's three lieutenants decimated every single Kamen Rider by themselves." Kourin said.
"And what after that? Kuuga wasn't supposed to be one of them." Kyoshiro asked.
"From 1990 until 2000, no one opposed them for fear of what happened during that great battle. Until the man with 2000 talents appeared, Yusuke Goudai, this person alone created a whole new resistance." Said Kourin with a smile.
"Who is this guy?" Questioned Kyoshiro.
"When his mentor and a group of students die in an archeological expedition, Yusuke returns to Tokyo where he finds a relic belonging to the first protector of mankind ... "Kuuga". From his research with the help of his friend, he learned about the existence of a subspecies of human named Grongi and when he and his friend were about to give everything they had to the police, one of these Grongi arrived at the police station scared and wounded, this Grongi asked for help to all those present before the special forces of Phoenix arrived to attack him again. It seems that Phoenix was the one who set up the so-called accident that killed the school group in order to learn more about the Grongi." Kourin explained in a cold tone. "This enraged Yusuke, who put on Kuuga's relic and became the first Kamen Rider in a decade. He protected the Grongi and forced the special forces to retreat, a fact that surprised everyone present."
"Wasn't this Kuuga a Cyborg then?" Kyoshiro asked.
"Yes, Kuuga was a kind of mutant with supernatural power. Yukina explained.
"And he wasn't the only one, after that little incident other Kamen Rider appeared little by little. Kuuga was the very first, but after him "Agitos" appeared. People born with a seed that transforms them, all of them were hunted down except one who joined Yusuke to defeat Phoenix, his name was Shoichi Tsugami and many others joined him in his quest against Phoenix. Like Ryuki, a Kamen Rider who uses the power of a mirror dimension filled with monsters. Faiz, a Kamen Rider who was also a kind of mutant like Kuuga. Blade, a Kamen Rider who is a mythical monster hunter just like Hibiki who appeared after Blade. Kabuto, a Kamen Rider hunting insectoid alien. Den-O, a Kamen Rider who is a time traveler who was helped by some kind of genies from the future. Kiva, a Kamen Rider king of a legendary vampire-like species and finally Kamen Rider Decade, an inter-dimensional traveler who could assume the powers and forms of his predecessors." Kourin listed.
Kyoshiro was completely stunned by what he had just heard. "You guys are telling me bullshit, aren't you? There is no such thing as monsters, aliens, time travel and other dimensions. He asked almost optimistically.
"We would like it to be false, but no, it does exist. Said Yukina.
"But with a time-traveling Kamen Rider, why didn't you prevent the creation of Phoenix?" Questioned Kyoshiro.
"It was impossible, according to Den-O, you can't change the timeline without suffering the consequences and the creation of Phoenix is a singularity, impossible to change or even erase each of their actions." Said Kourin.
"And what happened to this team of jackass ?" Questioned Kyoshiro.
"Died at the hands of Dan, the first one was Decade and it was because of him that Kuuga's resistance failed. Phoenix managed to steal Decade's technology in order to find out the weaknesses of each Kamen Rider that he could assume the form. Each one died when Dan used their weaknesses against them until only Kuuga was left and decided that a fight to the death with the Phoenix leader was the best idea." Kourin replied.
"Dan killed him too, I bet." Said Kyoshiro.
"No, he had managed to beat down Dan, until some kind of demon came along and grabbed his heart ... literally, he ripped Yusuke's heart out in front of everyone's eyes before disappearing." Yukina explained.
"A... demon?" Kyoshiro asked confused. "A demon? I don't know if I'm repeating myself but a demon?"
"We're not sure, according to the people present he looked like a demon and even Dan was surprised by his arrival, but after that he set out to hunt every Kamen Rider himself before another resistance was born, but well here we are." Said Kourin.
"How many did he kill after Kuuga's death?" Questioned Kyoshiro.
"Twelve Kamen Rider died, we got some data on them before they died, but nothing that will recreate their power. Kourin replied.
"That's a nice history lesson you just told me. Kyoshiro stood up and began to juggle the fossil. "But it doesn't tell me anything new its my brother."
"Who is?" Yukina asked.
"That he's an asshole strategist and that he can predict any of our attacks. Kyoshiro replied.
"What do you think we should do? Kourin asked.
"Against him, the best tactic is the simplest tactic. Kyoshiro replied.
"Stop being cryptic and give us the answer. Said Kourin.
"You have to attack the lieutenants directly, which destroys the head of a division and prevents it from continuing, it's all stupid." Said Kyoshiro.
"We've been trying to do this for years, how does it change now?" Asked Kourin.
Kyoshiro went in front of Kourin, looked her straight in the eyes and had a big, cold, distorted smile. "You have me now and I know every one of his bastards by heart."
Kourin having an incredible composure, her expression did not change at all when she saw Kyoshiro's malicious smile, she gave him a cold look while saying. "As long as you bring us medical and strategic help, we will do your plan."
"Perfect..." Said Kyoshiro.
"Which one do you want to start with?" Asked Kourin.
"Let's start with Koto, after Dan she's the one I want the most!" Said Kyoshiro.
"Let's do that, I will ask my informant where she is." Said Kourin. " Now get out! I have more paperwork to do now."
"With pleasure!" Yukina took Kyoshiro by the arm and pulled him. "Come on, I'll show you what a game console is!"
"Is this like the arcade terminals my son used to play?" Kyoshiro asked before leaving with Yukina.
When the duo came out of her office, Kourin opened a drawer of her desk to take out an old photo of her younger self in front of her restaurant accompanied by a young man. He had medium-length black hair and brown eyes, he wore an open shirt to show a white t-shirt, a necklace with a fossil, blue jeans, a pair of sneakers and an old relic around his belt. Kourin and the young man were posing to celebrate the opening of the restaurant.
"I miss you every day, Yusuke and I would do anything to stop Phoenix." Said Kourin before going back to his work.
In his office, Dan was drinking a glass of vodka while looking at Kuuga's helmet in his office and his scar. He was thinking about the fight he had against the Kamen Rider, he was almost nostalgic. Pulling him out of his memories, Yosuke arrived with a report in his hands.
"Mr. Komogawa, am I not disturbing you?" Yosuke asked.
"No, not at all." Dan rolled up his sleeves and put his glass on his desk. "How is Jack?"
"The gravity change he suffered is going away and he's being treated by our doctors." Yosuke answered.
"Good to know, do you need anything?" Dan questioned.
"I came to give you my report on Reverse. Said Yosuke.
"While you're here, tell me what you know." Dan ordered.
"Well, we know that he has perfect control over his gravity manipulation and that he is able to affect objects of any size as well as living beings. He uses several types of prostheses that seem to be far more advanced than those we put on sale or use on our soldiers." Yosuke reads his report.
"Anything else important?" Dan asked.
"Yes, unlike the other cyborgs his feelings seem to affect his power, as you have testified in your fight and what the recordings have shown us. The angrier he gets or the more emotion he shows, the more electricity his body produces. Some of our scientists think it has something to do with what we used on him in our testing of the Shocker experiments, they are going to try to do tests on the materials used to prove this theory, nothing else to report." Yosuke reads.
"Good to know." Says Dan.
"Um... Mr. Komogawa, can I ask you a question?" Asked Yosuke.
"Sure, ask it." Dan took his glass in hand and took a sip.
"I was wondering, since you've already hunted down the other Kamen Rider, why not do the same for Reverse?" Yosuke asked.
"He's special." Replied Dan.
"How so?" Yosuke questioned.
"It's very simple, you already know that every lieutenant's cybernetic modification can be applied to another person? It's not really something unique." Dan asked.
"Yes, I know that, but I don't see the connection. Yosuke replied.
"Kyoshiro's cybernetic modification is like mine, impossible to recreate even if you recreate the situation of getting it, he is really the only Cyborg who can manipulate gravity. That's why I can't kill him now, I need to know why he's so special." Said Dan.
"Is it not because he's your brother?" Questioned Yosuke.
"It's possible, I may still have some feeling for him because i'm related to him, but I doubt it." Dan finished his drink in one go. "Do you have any other questions?"
"Yes, my mother's body is rejecting its last implants and-"
"It'll be done right away." Dan cut Yosuke off.
"What?" Yosuke asked in surprise.
"You want our doctors to take care of her, don't you?" Yosuke nodded in agreement. "Well it will be done, I'll put Doctor X on her case." Said Dan.
"Thank you very much!" Said Yosuke happily.
"Don't thank me, I owe your mother a lot. I'll come to see her tonight and tell her the good news." Said Dan.
"Thank you, Mr. Komogawa!" Yosuke happily left the office ready to go back to work with a big smile.
"Always so impatient this child, just like his father." Dan took out a bottle of whiskey, poured himself a glass and went back to looking at his hunting trophies.
