In a café, a woman was drinking a cappuccino and reading a newspaper, the young woman had short red hair and brown eyes. She had a completely neutral expression, as if she showed absolutely no emotion, she was wearing a skirt, black tights, a white shirt and a pair of black heels. While the woman was reading, Dan arrived and sat down at the same table as her.
"You got here earlier than me, Koto." Said Dan.
"I wanted to read the news before we talked." Koto replied.
"So you know what happened between me and Kyoshiro?" Dan questioned.
"I know what you two fought, but not who won." Koto replied as he flipped through his newspaper.
"It was a draw." Said Dan before a waiter arrived with a glass of rum.
"Impressive, you who is a Kamen Rider killer, didn't manage to kill his own brother." Said Koto.
"It was a crushing defeat for me and him." Dan finished his drink in one gulp.
"What do you want me to do about it?" Koto asked.
"I want you to gather informations on Kyoshiro, the resistance and something called "Overburst". None of our usual informants seem to be able to find out anything about them, it's like they're invisible." Dan replied.
"Give me a day or two, I should be able to find something." A waiter arrived with the bill in hand.
"Which one of you is going to pay?" Asked the waiter. Dan was about to pay but Koto stopped him.
"Let's see, I was here before you, let me do it. Koto coughed a bit before saying. "Go get hit by a car."
"Excuse me?" The waiter asked confused.
"You heard me, go get hit by a car." Said Koto.
"Yes, ma'am." The waiter, without saying a word, left the cafe, waited by the road and when a car arrived at full speed, he threw himself in front of it and was hit by the car, dead on the spot.
"You didn't have to tell him to kill himself, I could pay." Said Dan.
"I know, but it's not as much fun if you pay." Said Koto.
Kourin arrived in front of Kyoshiro's shed, it had been a few days since the cyborg had come to the resistance base, the leader was worried about losing an important member of her organization. When she entered the shed, she saw Kyoshiro and Yukina sitting on the bed in front of a screen, the duo had huge dark circles under their eyes as if they had not slept for a long time.
"I'm afraid to ask what you are doing." Kourin turned on the light in the shed which surprised the duo.
"Ah! Son of a bitch!" Kyoshiro held his eyes in pain.
"Close the light!" Yukina ordered.
"How long have you been here?" Kourin questioned.
"I don't know... what day is it?" Kyoshiro asked.
"It's Monday." Kourin answered.
"Then it will be four days." Said Kyoshiro.
"But what have you been doing here?" Asked Kourin.
"Yukina showed me some anime, it changed a lot from the stuff my son used to watch." Replied Kyoshiro.
"You spent four days here, just watching anime?" Kourin questioned.
"Yeah." Replied Yukina.
"I'm starting to think she's a bad influence on you." Kourin said.
"No, not at all... well I don't think so." Said Kyoshiro.
"What did you come here for anyway?" Asked Yukina.
"Information about Koto has just arrived." These words made Kyoshiro react.
"That's a very good news." Said Kyoshiro.
"Before I give you this information, tell me what you know about her." Kourin ordered.
"That's the deal after all. Koto and I were childhood friends, we all went to medical school together. Like me, she's a medical genius, but she specialized in bioengineering and neurology. She had even managed to create a mind control gas using pheromones which was revolutionary at the time." Kyoshiro explained.
"I don't want to know your story, just tell me what her cybernetic implants do." Said Kourin.
"I'm getting there, like the gas she created, her implants allow her to force people to do what she wants with her voice. I don't know if she has any other way to control people other than her voice." Said Kyoshiro.
"She really controls people with her voice?" Asked Yukina.
"Yeah... that's how I lost one of my arms." Kyoshiro looked at his right arm with a blank look.
"What was your news about her?" Yukina asked.
"She just arrived in town, we found her in a café with Dan." Kourin showed a picture of the two.
"Let's go slaughter her!" Kyoshiro began to laugh like a maniac before receiving a confused look from the two women.
"Absolutely not, first we need to get information on where she is hiding and how powerful her hypnotic powers are." Said Kourin.
"Do you really want me to do nothing while one of the people who mutilated me is nearby?" Kyoshiro asked.
"No, I have something better." Said Kourin.
"I hate this with all my soul." Said Yukina exasperated.
Yukina was with Kyoshiro and Kourin at the dusty library reading equally dusty encyclopedias. Yukina was slumped over the table completely tired at the sight of so many books.
"What are we doing in a nerd place?!" Yukina asked childishly.
"To read the theses and formulas that Koto published." Replied Kourin. "And since Phoenix doesn't talk about the projects they've been doing since their conquest, now they're making them digitized too and their servers are impossible to penetrate without being detected directly."
Yukina looked at Kyoshiro with crocodile eyes. "Tell me you're bored, I don't want to be alone!"
"Sorry but this is my home, I remember spending entire summers in the municipal library." Said Kyoshiro with a relaxed air.
"Sometimes I forget that you're an old man." Said Yukina. "What's an old book going to teach us anyway?"
"As we told you, Phoenix have digitized their entire projects since their conquest so we read what the magazines and other sources knew before that." Kourin answered.
"But Kyoshiro worked for them, he should know that." Said Yukina.
"You really think I knew everything that was going on?" Yukina was about to answer, but Kyoshiro stopped her. "It's a rhetorical question."
"But also reading a little will do you good." Said Kourin.
"Yeah, read something instead of bothering us, a novel might interest-"
"Neeeeeeeeeeeeeerd!" Yukina said annoyed while cutting Kyoshiro off.
"Yes. I am one and I'm proud of it." Said Kyoshiro. "Go find a comic book or something."
"Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerd..." Yukina continued to say this before leaving to a different section of the library.
Yukina began to move from shelf to shelf looking for a book she could read, she went from historical, fiction, romance, adventure and other books, but none of them interested her until she came to a shelf of old adult magazines.
"Hello my friends! We're going to have fun together." Yukina had a smile that she lost as she opened one of the magazines. "Why put them here..." Yukina crumpled up the magazine before throwing it to the ground in a huff. "If you're going to censor them to death !" Yukina was even more saddened and desperate by the mountain of books around her. "What the hell did I do?"
Yukina resumed her search, but noticed large spider webs on the floor that were larger than normal. She was intrigued by this and went to the source of the webs and saw a whole part of the library covered with the webs and huge cocoons.
"... finally something interesting!" Yukina went deeper and deeper into this kind of nest, she noticed that some cocoon was almost human size. "What could be in it?" Yukina took out a Swiss Army knife and opened one of the cocoons and was surprised to see an almost transparent mummified body. "Awesome! A mummy!" Yukina giggled.
As Yukina played with the mummy, a large shadow appeared behind her. The mechanic turned around and saw a monster that terrified her. The monster had a body made of different colored stained glass, in its back were two extra pair of arms and its head looked like a spider's head.
"F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-" Yukina stammered in fear at the sight of the monster.
"Fangire..." From the spider's fangs saliva was coming out. "Run, I like to have a little fun with my food..."
Yukina ran as fast as she could in fear for her life. In just a few minutes she reached Kourin and Kyoshiro, the duo was surprised by the fact that Yukina was scared.
"What's wrong?" Kyoshiro asked.
"Fa-Fa-Fa-Fang..." Said Yukina breathlessly.
"Fang? What's a Fang?" Questioned Kyoshiro surprised.
"Fangire! There is a Fangire here!" Said Yukina.
"Let's go and fast!" Kourin ordered.
"What's a Fangire?" Asked Kyoshiro, but surprising everyone, the Fangire struck a powerful hook in Kyoshiro's face and he flew into several bookshelves and was covered in books.
"I found you!" Le Fangire grinned widely as he saw the two women, but stopped when he heard a cold chuckle.
"Ahahah..." Kyoshiro stood up as his face was covered in his blood.
"Oh you pissed him off, you're in trouble." Said Yukina.
"What?" Questioned the surprised Fangire spider "How could you survive tha-" Kyoshiro delivered a powerful drop kick to the face of the Fangire and the monster was sent flying.
"I'm going to take you down, you bastard!" Kyoshiro summoned the Reverse Driver and transformed into a wave of energy. Fangire was frightened by Reverse as if he had seen a ghost.
"No! Kiva is dead! You can't be him!" Said the Fangire.
"I have no idea who Kiva is, but get ready to die you monster." Blades came out of Reverse's wrists, jumped towards the Fangire and stuck one of them in the monster's shoulder.
"But how?! No primitive weapon can hurt us!" Said the Fangire.
"Shut up and fight!" Kyoshiro ordered before completely slicing off one of the Fangire's arms.
The arachnid was completely surprised by Kyoshiro, how can a human hurt him so badly? He was confused by this mortal.
"What? The insect can't fight?" Reverse asked arrogantly.
The Fangire was annoyed by the Kamen Rider's attitude. He tried to tie Reverse up but he dodged all the webs thrown at him and took the opportunity to slice off another of his arms. The arachnid was overwhelmed by Reverse's violent and savage attacks, it was as if he was fighting an animal. Reverse put away one of the blades and grabbed the Fangire by the throat and lifted it up as if nothing had happened, the monster tried to hit Reverse with its four remaining arms but with each blow it gave, a force ripped off its arm until it was no longer its limbs.
"What did you do to me?!" Asked the frightened Fangire.
"Shut up!" Reverse ordered angrily. "I was quietly reading when you came over and messed up!" Reverse was about to end the spider but a beautiful Fangire covered in white fur stopped his hand, it had a pair of it that gave it a royal looking cape and its head looked like that of a moth. "What do you want?!"
"Mistress!" Said the Fangire spider.
"It's not your place to punish him." Several Fangire came out of the library, they all looked like animals or insects. "It's up to us." The Fangires grabbed the spider and dragged it into the library. "I am sorry for any inconvenience he may have done, he broke an alliance between the Fangires and the resistance and he will be punished for it."
"I have no idea who you are, but do what you want." Said Reverse before de-transforming.
Kourin and Yukina arrived and Yukina hid behind Kyoshiro for fear of the Fangire. The moth went to Kourin and apologized. "I'm really sorry about what happened."
"Don't worry, as long as it's taken care of everything is fine." Said Kourin.
"Do you know her?" Asked Kyoshiro.
"She took over as leader of the Fangire when Sagark and Kiva died. Kourin explained. "She also helps us find info all over the world."
"But who is Kiva?" Kyoshiro asked confused.
"Kiva was our king, he helped in the second resistance against Phoenix led by Kuuga." The Fangire moth looked at Kyoshiro with a wistful look. "You remind me a little of Dark Kiva in your attitude." The Fangire gave Kyoshiro a book. "Here is the information on the one you are looking for. It has everything you'll need to know." The moth turned back to the library entrance and took on the appearance of the old librarian
"Wait a minute, the old lady is a Fangire too?!" Asked Yukina surprised.
"Everyone that work in that library is a Fangire." Answered Kourin.
In Dan's office, the Phoenix leader and Yosuke had been watching Kyoshiro's fight. Dan was icy calm, but Yosuke was completely stunned by the fight. How could such an old cyborg beat a Fangire with such ease?
"Intriguing, he is still so skilled with blades, but still so savage in his attacks." Said Dan.
"Sir, I don't think that was the point of this. Kyoshiro is far too powerful to let him get away with it, we have to stop him." Said Yosuke.
"I would like to, but it's simply impossible. As you can see, he's the one who got me into this state. No prison can hold him, and even if his prosthesis is removed, he can still manipulate his gravity and that of whatever he touches." Dan poured himself a shot of Gin and drank it in one go. "The best thing to do is to observe him and wait for the information Koto can bring back to us about him."
"Are you sure?" Yosuke asked.
"Yes and you better read all the information we have on him." Said Dan.
"Why?" Yosuke questioned confused.
"You'll be the one to beat him." Answered Dan still with an arctic calm.
"What?! But why me?!" Yosuke asked surprised and confused.
"Your new implants are made to counter him and you are the perfect fighter to beat him, you both have a wild and animal style of fighting, but also because my body has been so modified that I can't integrate your new implants to my body and after me you are the best fighter we have ... despite your lack of effort." Said Dan.
"Why not Jack or even the Slayer?! They are much stronger than me!" Asked Yosuke.
"Jack lost to Kyoshiro because of his vanity and the Slayer is on a different, more important mission right now. Explained Dan. "You are the only one who can beat Kyoshiro, you are the hope of Phoenix."
Yosuke could only feel proud of the compliment his leader gave him and the confidence he received. "I will do everything to beat him, sir!" Said Yosuke before leaving.
"Hopefully the informations Koto will give us might arrive soon." Said Dan before finishing one of his bottles of Whiskey in one go.
In the middle of the night, in a dark alley in Kyoto, Koto was surrounded by fresh corpses, but none of them looked like they had died in a fight, they all seemed to have committed suicide. In front of her was a frightened man on the ground with tears in his eyes.
"How am I going to have fun with you?" Koto asked.
"Please let me go!" Begged the man.
"Then tell me what you know about the Overburst." Koto ordered.
"I don't know anything! Don't kill me! Please!" Begged the man.
"Okay you won't die." The man smiled hopefully. "I have something better in mind." The man lost his smile as Koto gained a chilling one.
A few minutes later, Koto emerged from the dark alley, she smiled widely as the sounds of shredded flesh and broken bones could be heard coming from the alley.
"I think it's time to go see Dan, I've gathered all the information I can. Who knew I'd have so much trouble finding out about the Overburst." Said Koto before walking away from the alley as the noise became louder and louder.
